Hi All,
I hate to start with questions on my first topic but I'm n00b on PPC
Well, I've MDA III with freshly installed WM5. As almost everyone knows there are 2 taskbars. The one that include start button is fine. I need to change the one that is down and which shows currently "Phone Contacts"
I want to have normal with qlaunch and icons taskbar, not that phone/contacts shortcuts which I do not even use because I do not use the GSM, only GPRS.
I would be thankfull for a good explanation
Thanks beforehand!
Actually those are soft buttons, and they're originally meant to work together with hard buttons just below them. And you're not gonna like this, but I'm pretty sure you can't do anything about them. They change according to what program's active at the moment.
Hi everyone
Is there a chance that someone of you guys (your really great in this forum!!!! Have to thank you over and over ) could make a 12 buttons version of the "Action Screen App" released by Fabliv for the Touch Diamond?
See his Thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422136
So for exemple there could be buttons for "sighs sorf reset app", a button for the calculator or/and a button for beyondpod or so. I think the possibilities are infinite!
Hope someone can create such a app!
Thanks in advance!
Ascenca
That looks like a really cool app. Would be great to have a main tab in TF3D for it as well, called "Shortcuts" or something.
That's a great idea, I would be very interested if this gets available for the HD! I hereby declare myself available for beta-testing if needed
I was thinking 12 buttons may be a bit much... I thought 9 buttons would fit better (the screen is only 160 pixels longer than the Diamonds VGA display).
However, when I look at the programs tab in TF3D, 12 will probably work fine
Yes it would be amazing have still buton for "soft reset" and maybe "mute","turn orientation screen" for example. I used action with 9 icon in my diamond and now still in my HD. This is very helpfull app.
Hi...
I have a same idea...
but i don't now for the other 3 button...
if you have an idea...
For Example: tom tom, igo ecc....
What we put ourselves in these three new buttons?
Excuse me for my english....
Hi guys
so is there nooone with the knowledge (and the time) to do the mod on the Action Button Program with 9 buttons to a version with 12 buttons?
Think many would appriceate is, most of all me
Ciao
Ascenca
Ps: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
bump please
For those who have tried, can you tell me if the existing 9 button version works with HD?
Would it simply add an extra tab to the TF3D?
Have the version 6.1 installed of Action Button and works perfectly. Doesnt add a tab in TF3D but you it will replace the left softkey button in the today screen of TF3D. Easiest way to start AS!
Amazing program in my opinion!

Hi Asceneca,
where did you find version 6.1? I can only find version 6.
Can you reassign the buttons? Does it run full screen on the HD?
Thanks

Hi tedkopp
the version 6.1 is only a 9 button action screen.
Below I posted links to two threads which point to the 12 button version of AS!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473059
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496759
Hope you will find what you are looking for in those threads.
And yes, the 12 button version runs full screen on the HD.
To reassing the buttons you have to deal with the xml files of action screen. Search for it in the forum.
Hope I could help!

That's exactly what I was looking for.
Looks great on the HD
Thanks Ascenca
if you would use the search button (just click search and write:action screen) you might stumble upon this also:

in my opinion is the best!
Please politely point me in the right direction if i haven't looked hard enough, but i found this on
http://www.keithelder.net/blog/archive/2008/09/04/BlackJack-II-Windows-Mobile-6.1-Review.aspx
is there any way to get this on the excalibur/dash?
"A little known feature is the FN key settings. From the home screen you can press combinations of “fn-{key}” and launch a program directly. After an install I setup several to hot launch including RSA, Twittery, Internet Explorer and Skyfire."
"Choose a keypad assignment and an application. Note you can type the first letter of the application in the value box to just to that app. Once set, when on the home screen type fn-{key} and that app will launch."
hopefully, i am late and this has already been ported to the dash.
please let me know
As far as I know, and what from I've seen looking around in the BJII ROM, that is a custom function of Samsung's keyboard driver, which wouldn't be compatible with the Dash. Why not use Smarttoolkit or the countless other keyboard hotkey managers outthere ?
Thanks for your help and kindness. I haven't received my phone yet but i do want to say that i am migrating over from the iPhone which i salivated over until i actually used one for 8 months; Unlocked/Jailbroken etc... I just wanted to know what was out there in order to make my transition as easy as possible. If you or anyone knows of any other tools out there that may be useful to me please let me know. Again, thanks NRG, for your help.
Along the bottom of the phone there's a home button and an endcall which, within programmes, seem to do the same thing - take you back to the today screen. Or, in my case the 6.5 CHome thingy. And the back button in most apps takes you to the home screen too - so that's three buttons largely doing the same thing most of the time.
The new phones with 6.5 preinstalled will have a windows-flag start menu button, I assume this will open up the new hexagony start menu.
Is there a way of remapping the home button so it launches the start menu instead?
That is EXACTLY what I have been thinking for the last days. Pressing Home-key should naturally bring up the start-menu.
Nice idea, even because reaching the top left corner with your right thumb(maybe for left handed it's easier ) while holding the HD with the right hand is a little bit tricky
I'd like something small to do this but I have a feeling most people will return with the suggestion "use aebplus to remap"
I have the same feeling wiggz, There must be a registry key or something that can be changed and put into cab format? Anyone got any ideas?
Me to
So, we are many!!
I too have been looking for a way to do this for ages.
I too will be watching this thread with interest and hope.

so as the home button is coded into manila it mean's one has to play with the manila files and remap to start menu all that would mean is to change some scripts!!
bottomline Home button in theory can be mapped to the start menu!! so it's plausible!!!
i'm going to watch this thread as well --- i've been looking for this since I got hold of my HD. I've already remapped the "back" button to S2U2 via AEB since you are correct, essentially the home, back, and end buttons all work very similarly.
Hoping that someone posts a solution to this!
i have the solution...install this program and you can change all the hard keys to do almost any function...i have mine set up to do the exact same thing that you want it to do!!
cheers!!

Thanks, but could give more informations to remap keys, please ? The list is empty when i launch the application ...
Same here. I was so happy when I found this thread..
When I tried installing that, it did not work... Maybe it was my ROM.
There are REG keys that remap home in certain cituations, i.e. manilla but I have yet to find a way to get the reg key to do anything else.
The new keypad.dll maps it to a normal vk_lwin, so you can remap it as you like.
Unfortunately I have not yet seen it an any ROM.

It is for Diamond and the author says here post 10 "For the touch HD, maybe you should download HTCAPI.DLL somewhere, put it in /Windows and try again". Haven't read the whole thread though so not sure if this is what the problem is.
i know its a little confusing to get it started...so heres what you do...install cab, go to program files\dredsensor and click on dredsensor.exe and a config.ini will appear...now close out whatever app you are using to view files...and open dredsensor...now you will see default under name...tap default and then click menu, then edit...change type to launcher...then go to click and tap the gray box next to the home key...go to events and chose Misc:Start, hit select, hit ok to comfirm, change whatever others you want to...then hit save, then hit ok to confirm...then hit exit...then you should be good to go...hope this helps!!
