Try this. Gives you a today plugin for wireless and bluetooth

The only thing I would like different is if it didn't open up the comm. Manager to actually switch it, if it made the change right from the home screen it would be perfect, anyone know of something like that???I found something called cicleBT that work well however its not on the Today screen home page, I have the HTC home plugin and can put it in the app launcher and its cool. Any way of making it so it works as a plugin on the home screen.

Nice! Haven't seen this one before.
can this be changed to be a plugin
Just want to see if there was a way of making this so that it was a plugin on the today home screen say just under the HTC home plugin aligned to the left side and have my calendar show up to the right of it??? A nice little icon there that is large enough to use my finger to push???
Anyone know how to do a mod like this??
Thank you I wish I knew how to do it, any help would be appreciate.
Cheers!!
are you lookin for freeware? b/c if NOT then spb phone suite has today screen components, 1 of which is like a button that displays a sub menu allowing you to turn phone, bluetooth, and wi-fi on/off and also flight mode. you can even tap and hold on each to access more options (ex: bluetooth modes, vibrate etc.) i dont want to sound like i'm selling this to you, but it's a great app. maybe the 1 app i install over every rom.
more info here
more screens here
search for a program called pockettoolman its freeware.
yeah freeware
Definately looking for a freeware to do this, not really wanting to pay for an icon on the today screen. I found this cab but can't get it to work looks like what I want but it don't work
HELP needed any good coders...............
I have found a quick launcher on the web with 5 icons to launch apps. Is there any coders out there that can manipulate this for me to 3 icons, bluetooth toggle on/off, wifi toggle on/off, and phone toggle on/off, justified to the left side of the today screen, again I am using an att 8525 with the att rom. Any help would be appreciated. thank you all in advance.
cheers,
attached is the cab for the quick launcher.
I am beating this to death
I am sorry to keep on with this, this is the last CAB that i will upload I really hope someone can help me with building what I want but til then this little plugin will suffice. Please try and help me with what I described above in the other posts. thanks.
the plugin you want CommCEntric v1.11 (hell I want it if someone can make it into a today plugin for pocket pc) is an xml file. unfortunately you need some type of a homescreen to view it. I dislike the homescreen concept because they take up so much space, but I love the look of comcentric)
hopefully anyone technically inclined can make it into a cab that will make it viewable on a pocket pc screen (not just smartphone)

Would love just to have the Bluetooth icon on home screen and be able to toggle just bluetooth on/off....any help here would be appreciate, basically bluetooth icon on the left with my calendar plugin showing up next to it on the right...

The easiest way to do this is to use cLaunch (http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html) which allows you put to icons onto your today screen. It's really configurable so you can just have a couple of icons, or your can have multliple tabs with many icons on. You need to play about with it to get it working how you want, but it'll do what you're looking for.
For the Bluetooth icon, here's a useful utility that toggles Bluetooth on and off without opening CommMgr. Copy it into Program Files on your phone and cLaunch should be able to see it so that you can have the bluetooth icon on your today screen.
An even simpler method is to stick BTSwitch in your Program Files and then map one of your soft buttons to it... No need to take up any screen real estate with pretty icons!!

Where exactly do I navigate to to put the BTSwitch so I can map it to a button already on my phone, what a brilliant idea! Thanks, I just don't know what to do with it. I have placed it in several locations and went to map the button but can't find the file....I am dumb or am I missing soemthing.

Sorry, should have been more specific!
Put the BTSwitch.exe file into Windows/Start Menu/Programs. You can then use the standard Settings > Buttons method to map one of the hardware buttons to the BTSwitch programme.
You can also map one of the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen, but will need a separate utility to do that... (eg Schap's Advanced Config : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070)
Also, have a look at these threads for other ways of changing your soft keys:

Kavana's OS and HTC Quick Notes for Smartpone, General ?

Guys, I running the aforementioned OS and if you go to Celetask and hit (1) A and then (7) New Task and then Path and scroll down and select TextNotes it launches HTC Quick Notes for Smartphones which is awesome and I was able to put a shortcut in Start Menu via Resco Explorer but when I try to use Chome Configurator to setup a new panel via Application Launcher it does not show up, this is driving me crazy, crazy, crazy, and I even found a killer icon to setup a Sliding Panel but I need someones expertise on this matter, I would greatly appreciate some tutoring on this issue. Check out the icon below, isn't cool hi-res from www.iconspedia.com
I dont understand how you can not create a action url to text notes.
Create a new page under settings or any another panel.
\Windows\textnotes.exe
I've tried but it does not show up in the listed applications under Chome Configurator, I double swear ! but you can teach me how, please
Thanks, I got it, I did not know you can use the other options to select whatever you want.

Display Owner Information on WM Lock Screen

This may be my dumbest post ever, but I find nothing on the topic. I lost my phone 2 nights ago and a nice lady found it and took it home to contact me. By then it locked to the default WM lock screen. Because it had locked, she could not see owner information and returned it to the restaurant. I got it back today.
Question, absent a Manila editor or 3rd party app (e.g. S2U2) is there any way to display owner information on the lock screen of a wm 6.5 sense (manila) stock rom?
M$ must have thought of this but I have no idea how to do it. Sorry if there are 1,000 posts somewhere on this topic.
Thank you!!!

Seems like such a good idea, id also be interested in this!
I don't yet have 6.5 but in 6.1 you go to Settings>Personal (Tab)>Owner Information>Options (Tab) and put a checkmark next to "Identification information" for the setting "When the device is turned on, display:"
Has this setting been removed from 6.5?

Setting owner information
I have a UK TP2
The only way I can find to display owner info is
From Getting Started, Set background, Change background image, Items tab
Disable HTC Sense, enable Owner Into - there you can enter the data and set to display on start-up
I hope this helps

Thank you, but it does not show when the device is locked in Manila. M$ and HTC are soooo stupid!
On my HTC Touch Pro 2 once its locked i get the owner information when i wake the device, but it seems that once you press the screen to access the unlock screen, you cant get back to the owner information unless you unlock the phone. Its a bit stupid that when you press the power button to put the device to sleep it brings up the owner information every time, but when its locked it doesnt. Pretty stupid if you consider that the only time you really need the owner information to be constant is when you lose your phone or it gets stolen!
I've been googling the whole weekend and did not find anything. Still searching.
Does somebody have any idea about how to show owner info ? As TPC knows the way to move right/left/down the "slide" button, is there a way to add the owner info to the screen ?
(I know S2U does have this option, but I mean using the built-in new unlock feature in WM6.5)
Owner info on lock screen HTC TP2
Anybody who help me out with the owner info on the lock screen? It worked fine in the previous BIOS version and in the latest released BIOS update it 's gone.
I'm able to fill in all the owner details, but it's not displayed when I switch on the device.
Awaiting for a positive response
Kindly regards
Andries
This is something I'd like to do as well. My previous Blackberrys had this and it was a nice feature.
I'm not on wm6.5 but try using WM's built-in Lock feature. On wm6.1 and before, owner's info is displayed before showing the password screen
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/v6-5/Lock-your-phone-touch.aspx
Has anyone found a good solution to displaying the owner information yet? I had put it in the 'hint' but this only appears after you have mistyped the password several times.
Ok, I've found a solution. You can change the text that appears under the slider (usually 'slide'). I've changed to my name followed by my phone number.
You can find it here.

It's a good (provisory) solution !! I think it's the best way to tell whose is the device or what to do in emergency case.
Now, what about connecting what is inside the sentence in the .cpr file to another file ? Does somebody think it's possible ? Or maybe the .dll file could be adapted to read from the "username" keys in the registry ?? (sorry for my question, I have no idea about programming)
Another way
I changed my welcomehead.192.png file to my own picture, and included text in the picture with my name and a request to call a phone number if the phone is found. All you need to have is a program that can put out a 480X800 PNG and be able to add text.
EDIT: The file has to be moved to the \Windows directory. This file says up for almost a minute when the phone boots.

Setting Owner Information on Touch Pro 2
The option to do this easily was removed in 6.5. To enable this follow the advice below:
1. Navigate to Settings, All Settings, Today
2. Click on the Items tab
3. Disable HTC Sense
4. Enable “Owner Info” and tap OK.
5. Enter the Owner information that you would like displayed on the Today screen.
6. Highlight the "Owner Information", and go to the Options tab
7. Check that the "When the device is turned on Display" Identification information is enabled
8. Go back to Item 1 and re-enable HTC Sense
9. The Owner Information will now show when the phone is locked
EDIT: My ROM's Chef said that selecting the 'Owner Info' option will not allow the 'Options' button to function even though 'Owner Info' is enabled for the ROM that I am currently using. However, I was successful in changing my lock screen text by using the 1st posted method above (Customize or Remove Lock Screen Text).
I edited both "TapOrSlide" and "SlideToUnlock", because I noticed that my custom text would not display if I received a notification. Also, keep the number of characters to a minimum, so that it displays correctly. If it is too long, the far left and far right characters will fall off the screen.
Hmm, wonder if there's a way to add additional lines to the displayed text???
Many thanks to the original poster for posing a question that I didn't even know I needed to know!

Thanks so much for this, however, for some reason the "Options" button is greyed out (unavailable) in the Today Screen Item Settings page even though I have Owner Info highlighted... Damn! May have to try the other method. Anyone have any success with either?
I've also sent a message to my ROM's Chef asking if this is a bug or whether this is an option that was somehow left out of the build that I'm using.
Debbie
jamiemckee posted a good solution that I use. Make a reg edit to revert back to the WM6.1 Device Lock & do away with the 6.5 Lockscreen. Just your Today Screen shows.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Enable
Default Value: 1 (for Sliding lock screen)
Changed Value: 0 (for soft key lock a la wm6.1)
I found this because I actually WANTED to disable the default WM6.5 lockscreen as I prefer the soft key unlock, partly because of the memory the sliding lock uses, and also because I want to be able to see the gorgeous sense 2.5 interface when I turn my phone on to see the time.
BK
This functionality has to be in the 6.5 OS somewhere. I used to have a TouchPro 2 with 6.1 and it displayed the owner information during power up. To get this information to appear on my Tilt 2, I had to download and install an app called SKTools. Now I have an applet in the Personal settings under the Settings option in the start menu where one wasn't before.

Link to the Control Panel

Hello guys,
After a long search on the web I can't find the answer to "How to create a control panel shortcut on Windows Mobile".
Out of the box, our Rhodium are packaged with a "Settings" shortcut in the start menu which links to the Settings tab of Manilla. I find this annoying, if i want to go to the manilla settings, i use manilla not the start menu.
So I want a direct link to Windows' control panel. I've seen many ways to link to a specific applet, but not the whole control panel.
Anyone can help ?
PS : Also I'm looking for the HTCSettings.exe file stored in every Rhodium (WM6.5 version)... I've accidentally deleted it :/
Thanks !
I am not sure I understand the question, but I think what you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.. If that is correct, the solution is simple. Click Start>Settings>ToDay>Items>TouchFLO 3D>OK>X and you should have it. What you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.
Hope that helps.
what he is saying is that he wants to got to the control panel or "settings" from the start menu, when you hit start and then settings it takes you to manilla settings
What annoys me is that the Bluetooth and Today screen prefs are ONLY available through the Windows CPL, things like QuickMenu don't see them..
You got is cs400, that's what I'm looking for.
Someone can send me the original HTC Settings.exe (Located in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs) ?
Okay guys, I figured out how to solve this problem by hanging around in the registry !
How to change the "Settings" icon in the Start Menu to make it open WM's Control Panel rather than Manilla's settings panel ?
- First go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and remove (or move) the file HTC Settings.exe
- Then go to the registry \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo and change the value HideSettings from 1 to 0
- Reboot your device, it's done !
I am trying to change the 'Settings' button in the Start Menu to open the WM Control Panel instead of the Manila settings, however, the \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo key does not exist in my registry. Is there another way to link to the Control Panel? Thanks!
WM control panel shortcut
I would appreciate anyone telling me how to make a shortcut that links to the WM Control Panel.
Thanks!

Thank-you a million times! Just installed something that crashed my HTC Sense, and couldn't for the life of me work out how to get to Remove Programs so I could un-install it! I now have my phone back, without having to go down the hard-reset route which I'd feared was my only option.
you could do as htc intended and clicked "all settings" on the settings tab for those manila doesnt cover.
Which would have worked brilliantly....had I been able to get to the settings tab in the first place.
With Sense freezing, I had to run the 'change my background' option from 'Getting Started' to get into the Today options and disable Sense. Then use the tips in this thread to get the Settings folder back on my Start Menu. Normally I would have used the All Settings option, but couldn't in this case, and it's funny how much you don't realise is missing from a start menu....until you need it!

Since you didn't say which ROM you were using, I'm going to assume you're on the stock one with TF3D. Go here to turn it off: Start > Settings > System > G-Sensor.

im using the stock sprint rom with the 6.5 upgrade. Ive disabled touchflow and use spb mobile shell. Ive gone into start settings system g sensor but there is only a option to calibrate the g sensor nowhere do i see any other options for anything. I dont think there are any differences wether i access the setting through touch flo. Maybe your rom adds that setting. Thanks for the reply and trying to help.
Delete the apps of your choice (in this case Opera) from the White List in the registry to prevent G-Sensor rotation. White List location is:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
If registry edits scare you, you can install the G-Config app. This simple program just edits the registry through a user-friendly UI.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487991
Open G-Config, you should see Opera on the list of Rotated Apps. Select and hold on Opera until the option to "Remove" pops up. Select "Remove" than exit G-Config, and soft reset the phone to make the change take effect.

I guess its only good for disabling g sensor for the programs that it comes with - I was succesful at disabling rotation with the opera on the list that comes with the stock rom. Any other suggestions? Ive never edited a registry but am williing to try if you can tell me how. thanks.
