XDA-developers fastlink icon / logo ? - About xda-developers.com

Did anyone create one ever / or does it even exist ?
I need to have the XDA-developers links in my favorites and want to use "the logo" but is there one??.
PS: its for my Diaomd so needs to be 48x48 not the standard favicon size

wooooowwwww!
Peter,
This is the fastest response i have ever seen in my life. I requested this layout less than a week ago!!!.
What can I say ... the team here is a perfect model for many 'said to be' great companies like M$
I didn't check the new layout yet to comment .. just wanted thank you first.

Just did, using WAP. The start page loads fine, but whenever I want to change into a specific forum area, PocketIE just says "the page you requested is too big". Anything I can do about that?
Cheers
Daniel
i'd like to know why they cant make .cab files downloadble off the net??
like, if i need the update for the msn messenger, WHY cant they just put the CAB file online, so i dont have to go HOME to download and install??????????????????
it WILL work just the same, direct to pda

I never use WAP, so I wouldn't know. I've tested the site browsing from my XDAII.
What it does is override the user's style setting with the 'mobile' style that I made when it detects the string '320x240' in the USER_AGENT string from the browser. This mobile style skips some images and backgrounds, and use a much more vertically oriented layout. All the important pages are made to fit the width of the PcoketPC screen.

So did I, but using the 'wsp://' prefix in PIE. The reason is simply that WAP traffic is free with my O2 flatrate plan, while HTTP costs real money!
Knowing Microsoft, the maximum page size should be somewhere in registry. I'll try to find it!
Anyway, many thanks for providing the "narrow" layout! Excellent work!
Cheers
Daniel
used it on my xda works very nicely nice job 8)
Just tested it here......seems okay so far....nice job!
Thumbs up!
Mate, that looks excellent. I just sit here melting in the Aussie summer... Only disadvantage are my slippery fingers

Other Application in KalenderTAB?

Hiho, is it possible to start another App like PocketInformant with the CalenderTab instead of the original HTC-Kalender?
This could be a solution for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4426437#post4426437
I use Today Agenda instead of the original Internet Tab and it works fine.
Now I just like to have custom soft buttons...
Btw: Can anybody tell me the fastest way to my own posts? Actually i search for user maxmax72, but i think ther must be a link like in phpbb.
thx for your hint but I allready know that one and don't want to use it. I searched a possibility to remap the existing Tabs to another programm which I want to have.
sorry, i don't understand. isn't it the same, when you replace the calendar?
The difference is:
with your hint you can install a second today-screen in a ManilaTab and there you can use everything you want
I don't want to have a new todayscreen with all the installed stuff and so on but in my case the PocketInformant to be started with a ManilaTab.
Actuall I have it on the right softkey and it works fine but the other solution would be better.

Is this the first version? No last v.1.5.
Can you do this with the Samsung Focus?
If anyone can get the HTC HUB Live Title to not show the apps to the left I would use it for weather in a heartbeat. It's the only thing that has me from using it.
My transparencies and my colors:
^ Nice!
Wish this was on my Focus
i believe i read yesterday that microsoft may be open to allowing 3rd party customization such as spb shell and what not. if they do this i may get a wp7 device. the current square tiles are boring IMO.
thanks....

Has anyone managed to do this? I'm also very interested in removing the Apps on the left. I'm not too fussed about it saying HTC but the apps ruin the look.

Pooley, i really like your designs but i can't really judge unless i test them out on my device and see if the icons justify the aesthetics of the app. That's the reason i asked the designers to provide a 512 px png of the Icon. Don't worry...due credit will be given to all the designers who have helped me. Thanks

First of all, great work. :good:
But don't you think that the paper-clip will be too small if you scale it to 48x48 px on a real device?
Don't get me wrong, I couldn't do it better.

Well xhdpi it'll be 96x96 but more than likely, yeah. But its an easy fix . I always forget the whole scaling deal. I can always redo the icon at 96x96 and other dimensions to keep it crisp.

@HaSKdX really liking the new concept with icon embedded in a folder. Thumbs Up !
@ÜBER™ man u seem like a regular with these things..the icon u gave was really smooth but make sure when we rescale the icon to 96px the details are distinctly visible. Anyways like the concept.
@pooley:) dude u sure r a professional..really appreciate the time u put into this and came with 3 new concepts. I would love to see what more concepts u develop. For a suggestion..May be a mixture of 1st and 3rd design would be super cool.
PS: @pooley:) 1st and 2nd concepts are in jpg format. Icons for transparency purposes must be in png format
At last, Lets wait and see whose design comes across as the best. Really appreciate all the entries. Keep coming up with new designs and concepts. 2 more days to go. Thanks

Wow its that capable. Probably not as efficient as using a mouse though. Nice icon, although I'd do without the bent corner in the left. Doesn't quite fit IMO.

A Message to all the Designers :
Most prominent colors in the icon should be blue and dark gray as the app is designed in those aesthetics. White should be minimal as we are going for a darker theme. Hope i made myself clear..! Thanks

[Q] Design advice required

Hi All, I'm a long standing Windows developer who is dipping his toes into mobile development and Android, what is the preferred method of creating a form ( in Windows speak ) to enter / edit data. For example I have a database of contacts and I want to be able to create / edit them in a separate window. I know I can create a separate activity to do the work there but that seems overkill and also if I'm only editing three or four fields it would look ridiculous on a 10 inch tablet. I've looked at alertdialog and DialogFragment but I don't think they are meant for what I'm trying to do.

To be specific, are you asking how to make it look or how to code it?
From what I'm understanding, you're doing a DialogFragment as you've spoken--try customizing it.
Maybe if you mock up what you are trying to do we could give you a better option.
Im Saint said:

What I'm asking is what class should I use that resembles a Windows form, I'm OK coding ( I do it for a living ) I keep reading about Fragments and the like but can't find an example that doesn't take up the whole screen, is there such an animal in Android ? Maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist, thanks for your interest

I would take a stab at an Alert Dialog. It sounds like you just want a new window/modal/form to pop up and have editable characteristics. I believe the alert dialog is the closest you will get without hand coding. You can always fake it by creating an animation that gives the appearance of a form.
Youu can always fake it by creating an animation that gives the appearance of a form.

The most simple way for me to explain would be to point you towards the 2D Graphics section of the Android Developers documentation. This is the best starting point.
Hi there and thanks for your time, whilst browsing that site I came across a link which led me to a site demoing custom views and I found a good example there which will do me perfectly - thanks again
