are you meaning when the phone boots? You might be able to do that with mortscripts, check the threads out, and use the search link below!
The easiest way would be to just drop the shortcut in Windows>startup.
Thanks for all
i have downloaded mortscript, when i will have time i will try, and if i will have a success i will inform you
See you soon

It would be much easier to copy the file or program you want, and then go into Windows then StartUp, and then "Paste Shortcut" it, and restart.
After that, you'll notice that the application will be running in the background.

I'm arrive to minimize at start up the program "Call firewall", with a little script using mortscript. Thanks
what about programs that don't auto-minimize? for instance, Gentimer 2.x starts up on boot due to me putting the *.lnk to it in the startup folder. However, it boots and runs, yes, but it doesn't automatically minimize to background, and I have to manually press end to get it down. How to do this with those "special" programs?
oh in case i forgot to mention before, I'm a Q9c user.

I discovered that by fiddling around with this file (found in the /windows folder, you can quickly change the keymappings in the beta version. For example, I've only done a quick test, but I remapped the '%" symbol on the Q to be a "!" when alt is pressed or a long press is done. This worked in both Outlook and Word on my test. No reboot was needed BTW.
So if you haven't yet, check it out. I'm surprised it's this easy. What's the catch?
Does this mean that WM6 *will* have T9 on it?
(Pls. excuse my stupidity, but I have an O2 Cosmo (pretty much an Excalibur) and it does hot have currently T9 or XT9 or anything. And I can not reprogram it to access accented characters (which I am dying for).

This was the solution I have been looking for now for a long time.
Thanks a million for the tip gadgetshrink.
But this does not work for the standard, preinstalled WM5, does it?
Just out of interest, what is the format/syntax of that file?

It's a normal .txt file
Yes, but what I wanted is its syntax (what is in it and what does thet mean), in the hope that I discover similar files on the standard version.
There are actually some files in \windows that might contain key-codes. such as this file:
SymPad0407.txt
with content such as
...
00A7
00A8
00A9
00AA
00AB
00AC
....
which looks like key-codes to me. But I do not know, what to do with it.
Can someone help?
Thanxx, Mixx

I am trying to edit this file but when I put it back on the phone it says I do not have enough permissions.
My phone is 100% unlocked.
I have disabled 'read only' and still can't do it.
I am using Vista if that is where the problem is.

That's because the file is in ROM. But if you use TotalCmd CE (www.ghisler.com) you can. At least I can on my HTC Universal which otherwise has the same problem.
Yes I had problem with Vista in modifying this file
I was able to change this file using XP
hi i am working at hotel casino , and i need record (log) what i am write .with my artemis .. can you advise any program to me .. sorry for my english
Not sure that I totally understand what you need, but a simple way to make a log file is to use Notepad. It is not included in the official roms, I don't think. But, it is included in the cooked ROM I'm using (Meschle's Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 WWE ROM - Lite without cube). If it's not included in your ROM, it's available as a free download. See below.
How to:
Simply open the program and type .LOG (in capital letters) as the first line then save it. From now on when you open that file, Notepad will automatically add the current time and date to the end of the file. The first time you open it it will look like this:
.LOG
<auto inserted current time/date>
Type whatever you want here and save when done.
The next time you open it, it will look like this:
.LOG
<previous time/date that you opened the file>
<whatever you typed previously>
<current time/date>
Type whatever you want here and save when done.
etc.
Hope that's helpful.
The application on my phone is called PocketNotepad ver 4.0.10 by Tillanosoft.
http://tillanosoft.com/ce/pnotepad.html
PocketNotepad is a free software.
THANKS
can i get log from sms msn excell and calculator with this program.. i need check whatt i write all night
No. Notepad will not log what you write using all those other programs.
Sorry that I don't understand what you need. I don't understand this: "i need check whatt i write all night" What do you mean "check"? Are you trying to see everything you write in all those different programs in one place? I have no clue how that would be accomplished. Have you seen it done somehow on another device or desktop computer? Or, is it just on your wish list?
thanks for your interesting
i need keylogger working on windows mobile .. because i wnt check up something on my palm ..

Hallo
i found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486712
With this program you can assign anny program to the "software" startbutton.
I mapped YotaCenter to start button and would say its far better than the new windows startmenu and the new htc start menu.
It has several advantages. YotaCenter enables you to place favorite apps in an easy way and brings a taskmanager.
Also other program launchers are better than the windows/htc one - so give this startbutton app a try
I want to do this could you tell me what I have to do as that thread is a bit confusing for a nooby?
Thanks
thanks!!!
hI MARKUSSIEBERT!! Thank you for your great app. I am happy finally! Thanks
has anyone got this working on dutty 2.3?
Yes - im using it with dutty 2.3 even if it seems that there are some unexpected behavios.
Unexpected behaviors are:
-sometimes (ever 15 - 20th touch) the original startmenu appears, but its ok
-a second click on "Start" doesnt close the launcher window (because it only launches)
How to use it:
1. install the cab
2. open any registry editor
3. goto HKCU\software\allelimo\StartButton\Run
4. change the value to what you want to start
If you want to launch:
\Program Files\MyApplicationFolder\MyApplication.exe
you have to insert:
MyApplicationFolder\MyApplication.exe
if you want to start an application that is not on the Program Files folder, you can write the full path instead:
\Memory Card\Program Files\MyApplicationFolder\MyApplication.exe
How to extend the hook to the "Start" text?
HKCU\software\allelimo\StartButton\HookText
Set this value to 1 for hooking the word "Start"
Delete the key for hooking only the Start button
yeah, i could get it to work from the memory card, but i reinstalled yota onto the phone and i got it working..
as you said clicking start doesnt close it,
one more (i dont know if it is limited to dutty 2.3) if you click to the right of the start text the normal start menu will come up, every time..
you have to diasble the new htc startmenu first,
To enable "old" LargeMenu (Disable new manila start menu):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu\Enable ManilaStartMenu =dword:00000000
then configure this tool...works for me
Hi Guys & Gals,
Quick question.....
Has anybody come across a Wake On Lan app for WM6. I have a small home network that I start up from a central PC using Wake On LAN function in the system BIOS. I would like to be able to start my PC's from the Blackstone over my WLAN.
Everything within the LAN & WLAN is running reserved DHCP from the router side so all IP's are constant including the Blackstone.
Cheers for any replies.........
Gilgamesh.......
I don't know if any solution exists but I've read a tutorial (in french sorry) on how to make a wake on line application for wm
http://blogs.msdn.com/pierreca/archive/2009/03/19/wake-on-lan-depuis-votre-t-l-phone.aspx
Hope that could help you
Try this..
jpl69 cheers.........The app works like a charm but is a little basic. Needs the full MAC to be entered manually each time.
What would be really nice is some way of associating the MAC to a short meaningful name that could then be listed so it could just be selected from a list rather than enter the full MAC each time. In this way multiple PC's coud be listed.
While we're at it would also be nice to have a standby button as well so PC's within the LAN could be started and shut down form the app.
I've never written an app before and would either like a few pointers to see if I could do it or see if anyone out there would consider building on the app already posted.
Any suggestion welcome.......
Besides developing an app to that (no time) i could sugest make several shortcuts using resco and parsing the mac as parameter. At least you only had to make it once.
Thanks jpl69 for your continued replies...much appreciated.
I have seen Resco but not realy sure which component to download to edit the exe. I have used PEG (parsing) in other apps at work but just need something to get me started on WM6. I could the replicate the exe per MAC and create a single file or each PC
Might be worth looking at vxUtil: http://www.cambridgevx.com.
This has Wake-On-LAN (among other things), and I think it remembers previously entered values. You can't give things memorable names but it might help.

i think he means, like, create new shortcut with parameters. Just for example the same as on pc creating a shortcut to c:\quake\quake.exe and use the string "c:\quake\quake.exe" +bind mouse1 shoot +set mode opengl blablabla
Again thanks for the continued replies.....
Downloaded vxUtil and had a play and it does have a working WOL option but again it's messy and not really the simple solution I was looking for. It does have some other features (ping/sweep, tracert & DNS lookup) but I don't really have a use for these.
Still really after a single icon to start each PC as per the shortcut suggestion above.
All suggestions still welcome and appreciated.
I will just try to clarify what was the idea of jpl69.
Please read the README file included in the attached archive (posted by jpl69).
It says:
"Command Line:
===============
Please use as following:
WakeOnLan.exe [MACAddress]
MacAddress can be either 01E4523AEE22 or 01:E4:52:3A:EE:22 "
Now with Resco Explorer (or with Total Commander, which is freeware) one can make several different shortcuts to WakeOnLan.exe, each ending with the specific MAC.
In Total Commander, after creating the shortcut, one must select it, choose "properties", then "shortcut" tab, then manually add the MAC at the end of the "target" line.
Copy the ready shortcut several times, name the new copies whatever you want and place those shortcuts in a folder. Dont forget to change the MAC for each machine.
Hope it helps.
Now I get it......Sorry for the slow uptake but been a busy boy and head has been fried by other things. Will have a play tomorrow and post back results.
Many thanks..........
I dont know if you still looking to do this but I got this working & figured I would reply here for future reference.
First i have a linksys DD-WRT router, so I followed these steps:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WOL
Then I downloaded the attached cab & its one click & works great!

I have been using the WakeOnPocketPC from Depicus happilly with WM 6.1. Now, after upgrade to WM 6.5 (Dutty ROM Leo Holy Grail), the cab fails to install ("...installation was unsuccessful.")
Any other program with capability to send WOL packets to a particular IP address (and not just broadcast over LAN)?
Although this thread is about one year old, before I developed my WoL everywhere program, I searched for programs like mine here and came to this thread... None of the programs I've found fit my requirements, so I made a program myself...
So I hope your search is over and you've found what you need with my little WoL everywhere... you can download it here:

Create a shortcut to WakeOnLan with a MAC address
Hi,
I'm pasting to this old thread since I found the WakeOnLan tool here and want to share my tips with others.
If you want to create a shortcut so that you have a separate executable (say in your Start Menu) then follow these steps:
Install WakeOnLan from the above link. I put it in "\Program Files\WakeOnLan\WakeOnLan.exe"
Browse to this location with explorer on your PPC. Select the WakeOnLan executable and click "copy"
Browse to where you want the shortcut to appear:
"\Windows\Start Menu" will show in your start menu
"\Windows\Startup" will be run when you reset or power cycle the device
"\Windows\Programs" will apear in your Start Menu > Programs folder
"\Windows\Settings" will appear in your system settings
Select on some empty space (not an existing file) in your chosen folder and choose "Paste shortcut"
Use a text editor on Windows / Linux to edit this new file, or one on your device (I didn't have any that would open on my device so I copied it to Linux, edited in emacs, then copied it back)
Edit the line that looks like:
Code:
40#"\Program Files\WakeOnLan\WakeOnLan.exe"
essentially this is a character count, a "#", the location the shortcut points to, and arguments. Add your MAC address like this and take note of the quotes:
Code:
58#"\Program Files\WakeOnLan\WakeOnLan.exe" AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF
count the characters of the shortcut, mac address, and space, then add one. This is your new number (in my case, 58).
An easy way to do this is to use "wc" on Linux:
Code:
echo "\Program Files\WakeOnLan\WakeOnLan.exe AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF" | wc -c
57
(remember to add 1!)
Now you can repeat the process and paste as many different WoL shortcuts as you like! I've made just one and called it "WoL MythTv" to wake up my media centre at home. Neat
I'll post my sources in the next post since new users aren't allowed to post links...
Can someone help me to set the hard left and right buttons to anything I want rather than only to those which are on the list?
P.S. I've been searching the forum all day, sorry if this was already discussed.

its called x1bc by one of my friends.. jkingdev..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468007&highlight=x1bc
solved the issue from registry editor, but thanks for helping, and the application seems very useful
i also found out that there's a very easy way to do this. just copy the link file of the program you want included in button settings (not the actual program exe) to the folder windows\start menu\programs. this way you can do that without modifying anything. you must do it from the device itself, it can't be done from the PC via activesync.
