Hi,
I have a XDA Orbit device. The device recently just stop working and shut down. Now the device restart only for few seconds and then shutdown. I managed to start the device in boot mode and burn new ROM but this didn't help either and the same problem persist. Also the red light that indicates that the device is in charging mode is off.
Please help me.
Thanks.

Hi guys, need some help, rooted and installed slimbean just 2 days ago and everything was going great.
Pulled my phone out of my pocket today and the screen wont come on. Captive buttons come on and off with each press of the power button.
Holding down the power button reboots phone (captive butons flash and phone vibrates) but still same problem and tried getting into bootloader but not 100% sure that its going into it as same symptoms as before.
Tried hooking up to a few computers at work and it just says USB drivers failed to install as problem with USB device.
LED still lights up for charging.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help.
How long was it in your pocket for? Is it possible the battery has run out? If so then there is always the possibility the juice running out coincided with an error. It might mean you need to try the batch files to charge your phone?

Last time i looked at the phone about 15min earlier i had about 25%
Has been on charge for about 30 min and now i only get the LED, captive don't light up, doesn't seem to reset when holding the power button.
Hi,
My phone has been working fine since I did S-off and installed a LeeDroid 2.3 ROM a year ago. This wednesday I had to install another ROM because of boot loop problems with the previous one. I used VJ CM10.1 v5.3 which worked amazing for almost 2 days. Yesterday at night while the phone was charging I couldn't unblock it (black screen) and the orange led kept light event without usb cable. I removed the battery and since then the phone only vibrates continuously when I turn it on. Even without battery if I use an USB cable it starts vibrating inmediatly, of course with any screen response (in the dark you can see a very light attempt to start the screen but nothing else). The PC don't detect anything when I plug it and I can't use any key combination to get to Recovery.
I wasn't doing anything dangerous, only charging but the ROM was only 2 days old. Does anybody now what is happening or how could I fix it? Sorry if It has been responsed but I think not (It's no the 7 vibrations problem).
I can provide more information if needed. Thanks a lot.
Take out the battery, hold the power button for 10 seconds, then try to boot.

Same result. It only vibrates. I'm considering hardware fault (is 2 years and half old) but as I changed the ROM this week seems to be somewhat related.
Before we come to a conclusion, let's try all the stuff we can.
Does the phone boot in hboot?
No, all key combinations apparently have the same result.
The last thing i'd like you to try is putting your phone in the freezer with the battery taken out. Who knows, maybe it will boot afterwards.
If not, then send it to a service.
Thanks a lot, I will try. By the way, I've started saving money to buy the Nexus 4

You will love the N4
Anyway good luck on saving the life of your desire!

My htc google nexus has same problem, Continuous vibrates and wont turn on
Pls help, I am facing same problem, :crying:
Same problem any help guys?
I got a Xperia S here from a friend, he says that the screen suddenly turned off when he was using it. But the notification bar was on!
So he gave me the phone, because I want to fix it.
If I plug in the charger, no reaction.
Soft-Reset - No Reaction.
Hard-Reset - No Reaction (No Vibrates)
Trying connect to fastboot mode / flash mode. No Success.
My last chance is to remove the battery for 5 min and then look if the battery will charge or not.
The bootloader is unlocked and there was OpenSEMC beta 2 installed.
Is this a Hardware bricked phone, or a software issue with empty battery?

this sounds like a softbrick, there are lots of threads on fixing such issues, i seem to remember 1 problem was switching off auto lighting and bang the screen goes blank, holding the power and vol up/down for about 15 seconds makes a hard reboot 3 vibes, then plug in via usb and restart with flash tool running might work. there are lots of different help threads that will guide you through this. dont give up.
But Hardreset doesn't work. I already tried it.
Read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
Thank but I read already this thread.
I can't remove the battery right now, so I asked you guys if this issue is a Software issue or Hardware issue.
If I can remove battery I will test everything I can and then I'll report.

i think it's hardware issue. cause for it to be software issue it must at least show red led when plugged into the charger.
bring it to service center is a wise choice. but u can try different charger (with bigger amperage output is preferable), and what happen when u plugged it to PC? did the led color shows up?
If I connect to my PC nothing happens.
No Fastboot Mode no Flashmode possible.
I remove the battery the following days, cause I don't have a torx 6 to remove the screws. Must buy one.
Removed Battery and insert it back again. Now trying to charge but no reaction.
If you plug-in a Real charger(Not pc usb), what happen?
Sometimes when the battery is full empty, you have to keep it charges about 15-20 minytes without powering on

Put it in the real Charger, and charged 30 minutes.
But still no reaction. I guess it's a fullbricked Phone now.
I have a bricked Xperia Ion that would boot loop on sony logo without being recognized by my computer and as far as I tried, I cant get it to flashmode. It's a Kernel issue because when my phone exits low charging mode, it just bootloops again until the battery drains itself.
It's a lt28at, so my bootloader is locked. Here where I live (venezuela) is difficult to find the apropiate tools to take apart my phone and unplug the battery from the mainboard, but i had already tried hard reseting my phone twice, leaving it to charge and then as soon the red led dissapears, I prepare flashtool with my firmware and connect it keeping the down volume key pressed with no luck.
I*ll keep trying, everybody says my phone is impossible to brick due to the locked bootloader but I have a question that needs to be answered:
Hard reseting the phone does the same effect than taking my batery apart and leave the phone 10-15 to reset itself?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
No the hard reset is not the same. For some reason the device will freak out causing this issue. Taking the device apart and unplug the battery is the best way to get your phone running again. It takes allot less time and is not hard to do with a bit of mechanical knowledge. If you want to try the other way then listen careful. When you do the reset with power and volume there is actually three phases. We know about the one buzz and three buzz. If you have payed attention while doing it you may have noticed that just before the first buzz the screen will bleed out and shut off. If you do that after it starts to loop from charging it should then allow you to plug it in to the computer in flash mode.
Keep in mind if it does buzz you will most likely have to start over. So as soon as you see it let go of the buttons. Hope it helps.
Ok, so I get the first buzz, then immediately i left the up button to press the down button while connecting to pc with flashmode ready? I don't know what i'm doing wrong, because it just starts to loop again.
Try reinstalling your Flash tool & the drivers of your device is might help you to detect flashboot

No you can not let it buzz. You must let go as soon as you see the screen start to bleed out. It does this just before the first buzz. Again if you watch it while holding the buttons the screen will start to shut off. As soon as you see it you must let go of the buttons. If you do it right it will shut off and then you can try to connect it with flash mode. Also before you set up your flash make sure the device connects and loads the flash driver. Then you can flash your file.

I'm new to the Ion, so I don't understand this thing about the one buzz and three buzzes... can you explain what this means?

The newer Sony devices have a reset function seeing as most have internal battery's. By holding the power and volume + keys it will do one of three things.
1 After about three seconds the screen will go off almost like it bleeds out. This is force shut off.
2 If you keep holding the buttons it will buzz once. This is force reboot.
3 If you continue to hold them it will buzz three times. This is a force reset. Almost like a battery pull type situation.
Thanks so much.
With a stock kernel, how reliable is this?

This is hardware integrated function.. Even if you flash any other kernel.. This function still remains the same.

Hello. I am facing a serious problem. The device accidentaly lost all its battery when it was turned on and it turned off. I tried to charge it while it was off but it seems that it is not charging because of the unlocked bootloader (i unlocked it with freege. i think that the bootloader is mako geehrc). The result is that when I press the power button it shows the boot animated logo but then suddenly it shows the shut down animation logo and it turns off. :crying:
Also it turns on only when the charger is connected. Otherways, the power button does nothing. What I am going to do?
Happened for me few times on stock rom. Connected phone to charger and waited for a 10-15 min and it switched on.

Well I finally managed to turn it on. I don't know how but it worked. Sorry that I can't provide a workaround to help others.
Thanks for the response.

Something like that happened to me 2h ago.. the only change it's i can't even go into battery animation or boot animation.. even i can't enter recovery.. no led.. It's like dead.. more than 15m connected to charger.. nothing happened.. uwuU
Edit: I resolved it.. i don't know why.. at 3h trying to charge/boot it shows the LG logo so i could start up the phone as usual.. at 3% battery.. I won't ever let it shut down xwx
Same issue, I'm terrified of letting it drain completely, my fix is to connect the charger for a couple of minutes, remove it and then attempt to boot into bootloader mode, then into recovery and plug it again, once it has charged a couple of % in TWRP I reboot system and hopefully it will load the ROM as usual.
UPDATE:
I found a solution! Have your charger connected and nearby, while holding down; power and volume up connect your charger to your phone, it should enter fastboot, then just release all buttons and press power one time, it should boot normally.
