My S630's earpiece volume is really low. I can barely hear some people (although others its fine, I dont know why).
I accidentally spilled some hot cocoa on it, which I think could be the problem. Im just wondering if I could do something in the registry that could make it louder.
And can anyone suggest a free reg editor? I lost mine when I rebooted my phone (and forgot to write down its name).

Did you try adjusting the in-call volume with jogger?
Cheers
Yup.
I also did a reset, but with no help.
I just remembered with my old Samsung I turned off the hearing-aid volume-lower-er thing.
Earpiece workig ?

I have a problem that started to happen 2 days ago, when someone calls me I can not hear the person, but she did listen to me, and I look in the setting of volume and the volume was up, try all ways to solve this and all I could solve this problem was installing a custom rom, but now I hear the person when talking to me, but my Speaker sounds slightly wrong as loud, and not very clear and a bit annoying in my ear, prior to this had an application to increase the volume of tone call but do not think it's for this application, it is strange that I have a backup of my ROM stock when I dont had this problem without the application, and install the backup and still had this problem I can not listen to anyone when I call, only the custom rom solved this problem, but the sound is not very clear is too loud.
what was going on with this, would be my Speaker defective???
Same here
Had this happen to me when I was stock. Brought phone back got a new one. Haven't had any problems since and now have flashed countless ROMs.

Anyone know if buying this would fix broken/non functional capacitive buttons on the captivate glide? Seems like a simple enough fix, i've honestly only worked on fixing computer my whole life and the occasional ps3 as well. cell phones are something I've never attempted so if anyone could lend a hand that'd be great. I'm sure tearing the phone apart i'd be able to figure out where it goes, i just need to know if that's the right part. would make my wife's day if she could use the buttons again! thanks in advance!

I can't comment if that piece will fix your phone or not, however in the meantime for a workaround::

that actually doesn't work on any of the newer stock ROMs that I've tested on. It was also less than helpful because it leaves a 2 pixel opening for pressing the shutter button on the camera. ha. i can get the nav bar enabled in cm10, but without camera my wife won't let me leave it installed. thanks though!
My brother has this widget/icon on his rooted S III and I'm trying to identify it so that I can eliminate it. It will move from screen to screen, and when you touch it it powers the phone off. Anyone have any idea what it is or how to get it off the screen?

This may sound stupid but have you tried long pressing on it and then dragging it into the garbage bin?

I haven't physically seen it or been able to play with it myself, but he said that whenever he touched it that it would power off the machine. And, to be frank, it is one of those cases where the phone has become smarter than the owner, so trying to diagnose this remotely has been a challenge. LOL But I think my nephew figured it out as some kind of power app that he'd installed.
I recently upgraded to M8 from old One S and missing "Flip for Speaker" feature a lot. If somebody doesn't know that was a feature in many HTC phones earlier that would turn on speakerphone during call if you flip your phone screen down on the table. Helps a lot during those wait times etc. There is no such thing on M8 and I'm missing it a lot. I thought first that may be they removed it due to the front speakers, but I tested speaker and microphone face down and see absolutely no issue. I tried a separate "UpSoundDown" app, but it doesn't work very well.
Can somebody tell me is there a ROM that has the feature that I'm looking for? Is there a Kernel that can enable it? Where to look for this and where to request it if feature wasn't implemented?

No any input on this?
If anyone interested the best solution I found so far is Auto Speaker app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hanan.android.ramkol&hl=en
It works pretty good , but still I would much prefer "Flip for Speaker" option, because of lower power consumption during those waiting times and due to the way Auto Speaker switch works.
Does anyone know xposed module with such functionality? Where would be a good place to put a rom/xposed request like this?
On this post, MrNa5ty kindly point out that there's an entry in Sq Lite Editor read as "tether_entitlement_check_state", yet I don't see it on my end. I also notice there's a step before everything, which is "need to try and activate the hot spot initially in the user interface settings", to my limited knowledge, I believed I had already done that, yet it still didn't seem to be appearing anywhere on my Sq Lite screen, does anyone has a similar situation like this and get resolved? The picture below is what I think MrNa5ty referring to as "user interface settings". Or maybe not, bc how is a rookie like me know any better, lol.

Anyway, I went back to SQ Lite Editor after I see this message pop up
And I had done this so many times, I lost count, but I never able to see that database entry ""tether_entitlement_check_state" appear, man I wish banging my head to the wall could solve this problem. :crying:
PS: Do I have to unroot it before it could work?
