Hi all,
I bought a Siemes SX66 but it does not have a data cable. Only a wall charger. But I thought I could sync it using bluetooth. Although my laptop, running Windows Vista Premium has builtin bluetooth, it only recognizes the following two services:
1)Wireless Stereo
2)Headset
Can someone please advice how I can seamlessly sync my device with the laptop without having to buy a cable.
Thanks alot
anybody???
i guess the answer is 'to buy a data cable'...
hmm

hi xplode...
my device details are as follows:
Operator version: AKU3.2
ROM version: 5.04.06.WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05
Radio version: 1.02.10
Protocol version: 1337.35
ExtROM version: Helmi v1.1
windows mobile device center is preinstalled on my laptop as I am have the vista premium installed on it. Also, I have bluetooth adapter built-in in my laptop. I assume the it uses a microsoft stack.
The reason my signature had Universal is because i used to own one for the longest time. Then I moved from this platform to Sumbian and have just moved back. I bought a second hand Siemens SX66. Anyways, I will change my signature soon.
One more question: Is there a stable version of WM6 for this device or would you not recommend upgrading this device?
Thanks alot mate

I assume that I am doing the wrong thing.
I am technically ignorant and would appreciate any advise please assume a lack of any basic knowledge.
The unit is locked to O2 And I wish to use my vodafone sim. I have just bought the unit and have never had a connection.

Hi there,
It is along time I wrote this but no one has answered.
Is that means there is no answer or what?
With my deep thanx
It's unlikely without an original ROM update by the manufacturer.
However, what model etc is it? Do you have a webpage we can look at to get info about it.
V
It is like this one
Hi there,
In this website u can c what my Medion it look like.
https://www.medionshop.co.uk/?areaI...000000A00004A410A4F713EAE6B87E10000000A00004B
It runs Windows CE net 4.2 .
With my deep thanx
The King - the website you point to indicates it's running
"Microsoft Windows Mobile(TM) 2003".
Are you sure it's running .net? Could you post a screenshot?
As I said before, it's unlikely to be upgradeable without a full rom update from Medion - my father has a medion GPS PDA, and that's running WM2003. Maybe you could grab a rom from another wm2003 Medion and try patching it together, but unlikely!

With my deep thanx
all the links show that it's already running 2003
windows CE is just the core OS that WM2003 and 2005 and ... is build on
Windows CE 4.2
What I am talking about has these specifications:

Satellite Based Positioning (GPS)
Integrated GPS receiver
SD/MMC card reader
Windows® CE 4.2 (based)
With my deep thanx

CAB extract?
Can anyone running this ROM somehow extract the CAB file so it can be installed elsewhere? I'd like to test on my PDA2K/2003 device in the USA.
-Robert
Don't think it's worth for me to upgrade. See the extract below;

Hi there
I have just bought a "new" SPV M5000 - I say new as the box was still sealed but not sure how long it was on the shelf! Anyway I am having a few problems with it, such as not working with ActiveSync, appalling battery life etc...
Anyway, this is on Orange and has the following device info:
Operator version 7.113.1.130
ROM version: 1.13.49 WWE
ROM date: 09/20/05
Radio version: 1.03.00
Protocol version: 42.36.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.130 WWE
I am pretty sure this is all out of date, but what is the best route for upgrading it all? I have seen some posts on here that discusses upgrading just the radio, or even replacing the ROM completely with QTEC..? I am not too fussed about keeping the Orange branding - just want a reliable ersion that will work with ActiveSync! Any comments/suggestions will be very welcome!!!
Cheers
Sean
Sorry to say but you have the latest from Orange. It's the same as mine.
I had no problem with ActiveSync before, but I've since done a reinstall on my PC and now ActiveSync wont work with USB connection with my firewall active (zonealarm)and have to shut it down for it to work. It still will sync using Bluetooth. I checked all my firewall settings and couldn't find a problem. Conclusion win xp the best(not)!! Try reinstalling your PC operating system and good luck
If you've got a firewall then change the access rights to allow active sync. This worked for me. As for battery, make sure Blue Tooth is off and keep the device charging when not in use. I keep mine charging from the USB at all times. I believe battery life is poor if you are in a poor service area where your device constantly searches for a signal. There's always an answer in the forums - keep searching.
Anyone else having trouble with Dopod 900 or other HTC versions ActiveSync ?
I bought Dopod 900 in China, Aug 29, 2006.
ROM version: 1.30.111.WWE.
ROM date: 04/06/06.
Radio version: 1.04.02
Protocol version: 42.37.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.134 CHT
It was in Chinese when I bought it, but since I can't read Chinese, I had someone change to English.
Cannot successfully link up ActiveSync computer to phone using USB connection.
Problems: I cannot connect my notebook computer (SHARP MP30) to the Dopod 900 using ActivSync successfully. I downloaded the new ActiveSync this week. It tries to connect, then crashes the computer to bluescreen. I disabled firewalls and antivirus in the beginning. Phone seems to recognize the computer, but computer cannot "find" phone. Also, some things like voice automated calls don't work; Some functions are not Chinese and not English anymore? Any suggestions, or do I just us what works on it? Thanks
Current phone service provider: China Mobile. Later will take to U.S. and use T-Mobile service.
Hope this can be helpful to start discussions with others who have similar problems.

Sept 8, Beijing: Just figured it out myself. Maybe this will help any others with similar ActiveSync / Dopod 900 problems. Very simple solution actually........ DISCONNECT from the internet. Disable all firewalls and anti-virus temporarily. Then hook up by cable and ActiveSync works perfectly!!!
