hi to all forumers...
I had a problem..
i just install resco keyboard on my HTC P3300 and it's working perfectly without any problem. It was easier for me because i can use my thumb to typing a text & better than an original keyboard (standard)..
I just install Opera mobile 9 (based on new HTC touch) to my HTC..
it's working and i can browse at no problem..
My HTC P330's specs are not too high performance pocket PC,
so.. the problem only happen when i need to typing something (example: user id, my email address, web address), it will "hang" suddenly because of resco's keyboard loads lots of memories...
So is there anyway (tweak, registry edit) for me to "just disable" resco keyboard only for opera application and revert back to resco keyboard after opera close?? ..and i want to set an original keyboard only for opera... can I?
thank you...

Alright I know its a beta, but please help. It runs fine, but when I click on the address bar to type, instead of using my default keyboard (TouchPal) it switchs to the regular wm6 keyboard (the one with small letters, need a stylus for it) and I have to change it back to TouchPal cause I can't type with the other keyboard! I am using wm6.1 on a sprint HTC touch. I installed Opera 9.5 to my storage card.
Is there a way to fix this? If so please tell me! Thanks. Btw I would've asked this on opera forums, but I'm not registered. So I need YOUR help!

Download the Diamond Opera 1660 build, there are no SIP (Keyboard) issues with it.
Have the same issue too.
I suspect it is a Opera issue. It is in the beta still so bugs are expected.
Also notable is the fact that the Diamond builds aren't crippled in the way that the official beta is thus enabling you to use flash and active x. My own experience with the beta was also interupted by out of memory notifications every 10 seconds while the Diamond build did not do this.
Just for informational purposes I am running a
Dell Axim x51v
L07 WM6.1 ROM (i think)
A diamond build though it might be different than the one mentioned above.
Registry fix for keyboard issue
I had the same issue with Opera 9.5 beta 2 (including version still on Opera site, 10th March 09). Up comes the really small keyboard as soon as you go to enter text. I found a posting in the Opera Mobile forum, which has done the trick for me (I have the Touch Diamond and preference for "Full QWERTY" input method).
http://my.opera.com/operamobile/blog/show.dml/2398155 Posted as far back as last August!
You need a registry editor. The free PHM Registry Editor did the trick for me.
1. Open your registry editor.
2. Select "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT", which is one step down from the top of the tregistry heirarchy (might display as HKCR in different editor?).
3. Use the built-in "Find" function to find "IsSIPInputMethod". (PHM Registry Editor has the find function under "Tools".) It should find that entry under this class: {42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}.
4. Set the value of Default to 0.
5. Exit your registry editor.
It worked straight away. I've subsequently soft-rebooted my Touch Diamond and it's still working nicely - no more annoying small keyboard!
Many thanks to Dexterously for his entry in the Opera Mobile forum.
Hopefully this helps a few of you out there who have been going nuts!

I've got a couple questions about TouchFLO 3d on the TP2:
1) Is there a reg hack that I can set so that when I tap on an SMS message in the SMS that it takes me straight to the default WinMo SMS app rather than the TouchFLO version?
2) Is there a way to switch the default browser to Opera when I click on internet on the internet tab?
Here is a link for a cab for opera as default:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550647
I am sure the sms hack is floating around here some where. try searching for it.
thanks I appreciate that.
Original TouchFlo UI?
When I bought my first Diamond it used to have a different TF interface, where when sliding from one panel to another the whole screen would slide. It was slow and the experience was not good, but the visuals were stunning.
Later HTC launched a ROM upgrade that made the whole phone faster but at the expense of making TF simpler, basically removing the whole screen slide effect.
Now that we have accelerated video drivers for the ATI chipset I wonder if there's a way to re enable that behavior. It would be fantastic to have the great effects back.
Is it just me or the ROM I'm using, (Latest 6.5, 2.5 manila energy ROM)...., But is Microsofts Internet Explorer still rather slow when it comes to rendering pages ?, which bring me to my next question.... Can I change the internet tab so that it opens one of my opera bookmarks rather then IE ?, and will the screenshot function work with opera, or is this IE only, I thought that this would of been a function in manilla and had nothing to do with IE ?. Thanks in advance !!. Nick.
wrong place to ask this question and they might close this page but to answer ur question from my prospective it does run alil slow i figured it was just not on 3g... but wen u first install energy opera is set to be the web browser

Copy OperaL.exe from your \windows directory to your card and rename it to iexplore.exe. Then using TotalCommander or Resco Explorer copy it back to the \windows dir and replace the original iexplore.exe.
Now, in the 'Internet' tab it will open Opera.
For the favorites links in the 'Internet' tab, you have to insert manually the address of each favorite (copy-paste), and after that selecting them will open with Opera.
Thanks guys...!, sorry bout posting in wrong forum...!
Dear all,
Opera Mobile 10 is great. It's fast, smooth, and with plenty of useful functions. Finally we have a browser that compares to the iPhone's safari.
Unfortunately, if you install Opera Mobile 10 on your Touch HD, you lose some of the features of the pre-installed Opera 9. Here is a list:
Vibration when clicking a link
Opera 9 makes a short vibration when I hyperlink is tapped. Opera 10 misses this feature.
Solution:
None at the moment.
Special URL keyboard
In Opera 9, a special keyboard appeared when typing a URL in the URL bar: it contained a ".com" handy key, as well as other useful symbols. In Opera 10, the standard keyboard appears when typing URLs.
Solution:
None at the moment.
Touch HD arrow as back button
In Opera 9, the "left arrow" button of the Touch HD worked as back button in the browser. In Opera 10, this button simply minimizes Opera.
Solution:
None at the moment.
Internet tab push pages open Opera 9
In Manila/Sense internet tab, when clicking on a push page, Opera 9 is opened.
Solution:
Flash new ROM
Flashing a new ROM with Opera 10 pre-installed solves this problem. I am looking for something less "extreme", though, like a registry edit or cab file.
SSMaHo
Possible to use SSMaHo to redirect links in Manila. See:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810
and post #3. Not tested yet. Thanks to Koffein Schluck.
Internet tab push pages pick bookmarks from Opera 9
In Manila/Sense internet tab, when adding a push page, it is possible to pick it from the bookmarks. Unfortunately, the bookmarks are those of the default Opera 9.
Solution:
Flash new ROM
Flashing a new ROM with Opera 10 pre-installed solves this problem. I am looking for something less "extreme", though, like a registry edit or cab file.
Opera 9 cannot be uninstalled

I started this thread hoping to collect solutions and workarounds for all these issues, hoping to make Opera Mobile 10 perfectly integrated with Touch HD and Manila/Sense. Please help me! Reply to this message either proposing valid solutions or highlighting other missing features that I did not discover.
Hope to fill out this list with solutions soon!

a simple solution for 4,5 and 6 would be flashing a rom that has opera 10 installed by default
Solution for point 4:
There is a software called SSMaPa, you can RElink the shortcuts in Manila! Use the forim search to get it! Its free and not so difficult
I dunno if this is relevant or not, but the only thing stopping me from moving over to opera 10 is the lack of any decent zoom function. anyone know how to enable the zoomslider? or anything that allows you to zoom properly again? atm, i have to go to settings and adjust the zoom level from there, which is hardly intuitive

Thanks for your answer. Yes, you are certainly right. I'll write this in the post.
On the other hand, I also would like a less "extreme solution". I have a ROM I am quite happy with ([ROM][WWE][26.02.2010] Miri WM 6.5 21893 :: V 38.0 [DISCONTINUED]), because it's fast, stable, and it has got what I needed. Plus, I don't want to flash a new ROM and hence lose all my data and configurations. Also, I think that many people don't really want take the time and effort to flash other roms. Hence I this post.
Cheers

Thanks for the hint. I will try it. Did you try it already specifically for solving issue 4? Do you have more detailed instrusctions on how to use the program?
Cheers

Same for me. Opera 10 is fine, fast but the zoom doesn't work like it should be (why it is now based on the page width???). Therefore it is not usable for me.
My solutions:
1. Install Touchresponse, great open source app, works in background, vibrates when you touch the screen.
2. Install Fingerkeyboard, has customizable buttons for .com, .org, .net, etc.
4. Remove internet tab from manila, put Opera 10 icon in programs tab - no flashing, installing or unistalling required.
Those work well for me.
I have a Tmobile Dash/WM5 phone and I just downloaded Opera Mini 5 right to my phone from m.opera.com - it detected my phone as HTC Excalibur and offered 3 options - Opera Mini 5, Opera Mobile 10 touch phone and Opera Mobile 10 keypad.
I downloaded Opera Mini 5 since I heard it was really fast due to server side rendering. It installs and looks real nice - the one major problem I'm having is trying to enter URLs - the address bar only seems to be accepting numeric values when I enter any keys from the numeric keypad - alt does nothing, Q, A, & Z are ignored. IE, UCWEB and Skyfire work fine (although in Skyfire if I go to google.com and try to enter a search term I have the same problem, only numbers are accepted & no way to switch to alpha). Opera Mobile 10 doesn't seem to have this problem, although it's slower.
The only options I have in settings>advanced is protocol (socket or http) currently set to socket - changing has no effect.
Like I mentioned Skyfire does the same thing when I go to Google's search page yet it works perfectly when I open Skyfire's address bar and enter a URL.
Anyone else have this problem?
I had that problem with WM 6.5 3VO, you have to go into the address bar and select "Insert Symbol" then you'll be able to use your full QWERTY keyboard.
Thanks but there's no such option in Opera Mini 5. This is a known bug since people with other phone models (Dash 3G, iPAQ 514, Samsung i780, Samsung i607 Blackjack) are having the exact same problem on Opera Mini's forums with no fix currently available. Back to Skyfire I go.
try Opera Mini 4.2?
Meh - If it didn't need Java I would. That's the major reason for trying Opera Mini 5, it's a native wm app.

I just realized you're running a modified ROM on your phone - the "Insert Symbol" option isn't available on stock WM6.
People with Dash 3Gs have been saying they have this problem? I use the native version of Opera Mini 5 on my Dash 3G on a daily basis and it works fine for me in every regard. Just have to use the Alt key to get it to do numbers, just like I'd always have to.
I AM looking for a way to use this on an ORIGINAL Dash, though, if anyone has found a fix yet.
Just downloaded opera mini 5 beta and everything is working as it should...keys function as they do in any other app. Could the issue have been fixed? Oh, I'm running ookba's 6.5 on an Excalibur...
Opera Mini 5 date and # key issues
WM Opera Mini 5 - There does not appear to be any way to set the clock display and the # key does not bring up the shortcuts.
Any observations/suggestions?
