its like every single other htc home. just a newer build of it.
I changed the xml file to add my local weather back, but it doesn't appear to work. Did someone have to hack the install that supports adding non-listed cities or did I screw something up?

probable something u did. might be wrong though. i use one of the cities from list
hmm, no luck. Previous threads for setting local weather mention hacks to point at alternate servers.
I guess I could be corrupting the xml file somehow. I have noticed that when I visit the configuration section for weather, my city choices are gone after I've edited the file.
I need to find a decent .txt editor for my 8525 or go edit this on my pc. I've been using Word and saving as plain text, but I'm not sure I trust it.
?????
Is there any screen shots of this???
wait a second tnt released a cab for htc home version 2.1.1005.722
which would be a newer built?

I seem to recall to have it cooked in - there needs to be some hacking of the .dll - it can be installed from a .cab no problem but without the .dll modified it wont run properly when cooked. Unfortunately I don't know what the hack is, I just recall having the same problem on an older version until somebody posted a version that was hacked so it was cookable :S

If you want to use HTC Home Customizer then you will need to install v2.1.1005.722, because HHC will not run with v2.0.1025.721 installed. Atleast it didn't work for me.
Here's a new ROM for the Excalibur cooked on the new 20282 core and the system partition from the newest HTC smartphone, the S740 "Rose".
This is a WWE (world wide English) only ROM.
Applications included in this ROM are:
- HTC Album
- Tegic T9 with English available
- TMobile Dash keyboard layout file by default
- Adobe Reader LE
- HTC Audio Manager
- Automatic GPRS settings application
- Windows Live
- Windows Live Messenger
- HTC Streaming Media
- Office Mobile
- HTC Weather
- The new HTC dialer application
- HTC CommManager
- This ROM is "UC" (user customization) capable!
- Chome Configurator
- So much more...
This ROM includes the new sliding panels from HTC, which open up a world of opportunities for customization.
INSTRUCTIONS for flashing:
1. Run the downloaded exe. It should automatically unpack and present a black command prompt window.
2. Make sure you remove your storage card from the phone before the next steps.
3 .Follow the instructions in the black window. Do NOT reboot when the SDA unlocker tells you to reboot the phone. It's not necessary.
4. You might get a prompt asking you if you want to run the spl program. Just say yes. At that point you should get a white screen.
5. If for any reason you're not seeing a white screen, you did something wrong and you need to try again.
6. Flash the ROM following the instructions in the flashing utility.
You can expect the phone to be "stuck" on the HTC logo for about 2 1/2 minutes the first time. After that, it should only take about 40-45 seconds for the phone to reboot.
INSTRUCTIONS for recovery in case something goes wrong:
Turn your phone completely off. Pushing the camera button in, plug in your usb cable. The tricolor, bootloader screen will come up and you can flash your regular OEM ROM which can be downloaded from one of the stickies.
I recommend flashing the modified bootloader made by jockeyw2001. It's attached to this post.
What it does is, it CID unlocks your phone, so you don't have to use the softSPL everytime you want to flash a ROM. It also makes recovery from a bad flash much easier, where you dont have to hunt for your original manufacturer's ROM to load in order to resurect the phone.

Cool...
I'll wait for teh superlite before I test it though.
many thanks for this...
Appreciate it.
If you guys/gals find any bugs, NOW is the time to report them, before I release the next version... Thanks.
Nice rom, it seems really fast man. Thanks for this once again.

Oh mine did not have any problems with t9...
Thanks for putting this out! The ROM does seem a bit quicker and I'm not seeing any bugs.
Wow, I'm still running Rick's Kavana Remake V18... I've been waiting until most of the bugs have been worked out, but now that you mention a superlite version tempts me even more. Keep up the good work man!

Hmm interesting. I installed that cab over 1.4 and the tab key DID behave like it's supposed to. I will make sure to integrate this fix in the next release (including the lite release).
I went to find the t9 file mainly because there was no predictive text showing up for me after I flashed this ROM twice. No matter the cause, this seemed to fix it up. One other thing though, the ROM doesn't seem to make any changes when I add the cpr entry to make it show the day of the week, is there something I'm doing wrong?
Last 'problem' is whenever I choose Chome slim, I never have gotten a slim programs list like I see in your screens. Does my phone hate me?
Thanks for your work by the way

Hmmm I never use predictive text, so I guess I never noticed that anomaly. The cab should fix it though...
These new ROMs have a different system for editing CPR files. The CPR file is actually declared in the home.xml file found in application data/home. You have to edit one of those files, declare a custom cpr file and then go drop that file in the \windows directory. OR, you could just edit the HTC cpr file that are already in the windows directory.
Again, with the slim panels, you have to make sure the OS knows about them. THe easiest way is to rename the slim CPRs to the HTC cprs and just overwrite the htc cprs in \windows.
is there any way to set the directory in HTC Audio Manager?
Superlite?! Inquiring minds want to know.

I installed a beta version of Opera 9.7 and it has replaced the original version included in my ROM (stock ROM).
I have now uninstalled the 9.7 beta and no longer have any web browser on my phone - is there a way to reinstall the original "HTC" version of Opera 9.5?
Some people mentioned a CAB being in \windows but I can't see one there
Do you know what version of 9.5 was the stock one? You'll find a list of many versions here
Here is a link to v9.5.17775.

The ones you tried were they the right resolution ie wvga? The first link I have you gave a lot of official Opera cabs, mkae sure you try a wvga/vga one.
I guess if you don't know what the original version was and none of the ones you try want to work, another option (not a nice one) is always to reflash your stock rom. Use a backup tool to backup all of your data etc and then find your stock rom here
The only Opera 9.5 that I can get working is the official Opera 9.5beta2, but that doesn't integrate with TouchFlo, doh.
Is it possible to extract my HTC-specific version from my ROM somehow, or do I need to do a hard reset?

Got it fixed now, thanks for the advice!
I found an HTC build of Opera 9.5 here:

This one works great, and works properly with the Touch HD's SIP keyboards.
I set windows\htc-opera.htm as the home page for that genuine "stock ROM" feel

something is missing in this version (LITE) I have not tested the LOADED version
I install the previous build 28005 and the change INPUT is there
but with this new build 28008 the change INPUT is missing
it is on the start menu, setting, personal, from here you can tap on input and change your type of input or any 3rd party install input keyboard but with this build 28008, the input icon is missing
can thread started confirm or did I get it wrong?

What 28008 build are you trying? If it's the Lite(ish) build then yes, the input icon was missing. Hopefully I fixed this in the latest build.

I'm pretty sure we can't use the TouchFlo UI.. Someone else will be able to confirm/deny this..
The closest we can get is Manilla 2D or I could cook a ROM with Throttle Launcher maybe.. however I'm not a big fan of it!
As always though I'll go with what the majority or people would like to see in the next ROM.
Keep giving me your suggestions and I'll see what I can do!
The next ROM will be available in Lite and Loaded. Loaded will include SIPChange, FingerKeyboard/Swype (Not sure which yet..), Opera, Google Maps.
I'll willing to take suggestions of things to include in the Loaded ROM!

All,
Sorry for the delay on this one, but I have had a few things going on as well. In any case,
ENJOY IT!!!!!!
Note: This is a UC Rom. When the zip is decompressed, you will see a folder called XDA-UC that has a bunch of cabs inside. Place that folder (and all of its contents in the root of your Storage Card. Right after the initial boot is done, soft reset the device. When it starts up again, UC will start by itself saying that it will install all the contents in the UC folder. Be patient since it will seem as if the device weren't doing anything. When its done, it will ask you if you want to reset it. The whole installation of cabs takes between 5 and 7 minutes (because of Manila)
changelog:
*Brand New Build 21887. Keep in mind that this is the old style of bottom and top bars and with less new stuff. However this is more stable.
*Added the missing Phone Codes folder from 28205
*Dialer no longer has the issue of the "side bar".
*Still cannot include ezinput (looking for a solution)
*Included Hero Style Titanium found here. It is located in the UC folder, so if you don't want it, simply erase all the files that have the name CHero or Hero on them. (thanks chriscsh)
*Removed Rhodium notification enhancements because of some graphical glitches with the rom.
*Skinned top bar (nice looking icons at last )
Post some feedback and Enjoy it!
I cannot put pictures right now, but might do it some other time.
*Manila Home Tab Weather does not work out of the box. First, set up the weather in M2D's weather tab (choose your city), then install the attached cab, and finally Soft Reset. (thanks codf4ther)
First Post mine ftw
Downloading now, looking forward to a try, thanks!!
Egzthunder- Is there anyway you can put the Hero Style Titanium on Build 28205? I'm really liking the newer builds with the start menu on the bottom bar.
Thanks

I will save you some work. Install the cab in this post first and use all the cabs that have either Hero or CHero from the UC folder in this rom. I honestly did not like it all too much, which is why I might not make another build with it. It has potential though, I just don't think it's worth it.

Maybe you are going about it the wrong way by trying to integrate a cab. vin made a post here saying that there are two OEMs required to get it working:
Package_Mega_Shared Modules (for keyboard )
Package_Mega_Touch_Options (for Manila slyder)
I'm not sure where to tell you get those bundles, but they might be in the upload that vin made here.
I am having the issue of tap here to launch TF etc....
I remember this happening to folks who installed the cdma weather fix before setting up in weather tab, however I have not loaded it yet and am seeing this issue...
Should I install the fix .cab and see if it fixes itself? Or did I possibly install the manilla .cabs in the wrong order? If there is a right order??
Thanks!
I am having the same issue, Tap for Touchflo hangs... Tried two (2) different versions of 2d.

You mean you are not using the xda-uc folder that is in the zip file? When you uncompress the zip, you will see a folder called xda-uc which you have to place in the root of your storage card. After your first boot, reset the device and UC will launch by itself. There is no need to manually install anything.

Followed your folder instructions, just wasn't patient enough, it installed properly, testing it now. Thanks for your work!
stable is first thing we need for a cell phone. five stars
Thanks for the tip thunder, I extracted the cabs and was installing them individually. Can't wait to finish my work and get working on this : )
This build is QUICK!!!
I've been running this rom for about 24 hours now and very impressed. I have installed the ezinput cabs and they seem to be working. The rom is fast, responsive and stable. I have not found anything not functioning. My only negative thus far is the top notification bar when you have missed calls or messages is very small, making it hard to tap with my big fingers. Yes it must be running REALLY well if that's my only complaint after 24 hours. I can't evaluate battery life yet because constant installing and tinkering isnt the proper way to test, but i will report back.
any screenshots???
