Alright, I've been searching these forums for some time since I bricked my 3200. (I tried changing the splash image, then compounded the issue by formatting the HDD from the Bootloader Menu.)
It would boot until the progress bar filled up, then it would stay there.
Today, I got my first break. Here's how...
I followed the wonderful help from Harry A over on XDA, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352094&page=6, and I was able to get back into the settings page.
Here's what I did.
1.) I downloaded this file:
http://magellan.cachefly.net/softwareupgrades/web/Magellan_Maestro_3250_4_60_Rel1.zip
2.) I extracted it and copied the files from "COPY_GROUP_4" and "COPY_GROUP_5" onto a FAT16 formatted SD.
3.) Enter the Bootloader by holding Power and Reset Buttons.
4.) Highlighted "Update OS (Format HDD)" and pressed power button. It found the OS Image and Updated.
5.) I then put the SD card back in my computer and copied all of the files from "COPY_GROUP_2" into a folder on the SD card called "APP".
6.) Created a file called GS399AutoRun.inf in the root of the SD card and put this line in the file:
open=\APP\mgnShell.exe
7.) Inserted SD card into 3200 and rebooted!
That got me to the settings menu. Now I believe the only thing I need to do is to Copy my backup back onto the SD card and I should be good.
If not, I hope this is a start for others to be able to jump from.
Good luck!
Maestro 3200
I have the 3200 as well and ran into the same problem - but I don't have a backup of the GPS - I was loading the map update when it freaked out. I'm going to follow your steps but was wondering if there was any information you can shed on that after that.
I have two Meastro 3200's - 1 Good 1 Not
So, have two Maestro 3200's and have been trying to bring one back to life using the good one's files but have had no luck....
Does anyone have the solution to getting both units running. Obviously, I can see the benefit in posting links to the 'good files' but need some guidance to identifying them and posting them.
Looking forward to your responses.
Thx,
O

How to name the INF file on a Maistro 4250?
Thank you

ok, I'm really angry... Sometimes when I reset my phone, it starts rebooting over, and over, and over, and over, and over.... Aarrghhh!!!!
Make it STOP!!!! Anyone else get this?
search and you will find
Okay, I did a search and this info is Not easy to find.
Here is what to do:
Yank out the battery, the storage card, whatever it take to get the phone to finish booting.
Navigate with ActiveSync, Resco Explorer or Total Commander to Windows/omap850_sdhc.dll -- rename this file to omap850_sdhc.dll.old
reboot
when you reboot it will reinstall the drivers to your storage card and everything will be fine again.
Happy New Year.
Too bad this doesn't work for the Excalibur. The file is in ROM and cannot be edited.
Try this. Since we can't edit the file.
Just reboot without the SD card. Which should result in a succesful reboot.
Once the device is running, insert the SD card which should prompt the driver to reinstall, and you'll find the reboot after that is fine.
At least this has worked for most of he people I've talked to that have had this problem
If you are using the T-Mobile ROM, the only for sure fix is to flash the ROM to a non T-Mobile ROM.
ROM flashing is found in the sticky in the Excalibur section.
Read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307434&highlight=reboot+loop
Good luck!
Just so you don't think the TMO ROM being the problem is only one persons opinion.
It is the ROM. I have tried most, if not all, of the other ROM's posted in this section and haven't run into that issue with any other one besides the TMO ROM.
ever since i switched to that new htc rom (the thread is a few below this one) i have not had any cycling on the reboot with my storage card .. just a thought if your thinking of upgrading
Would anyone mind posting the T-Flash card driver here so us T-Mo rom users could drop it in our Windows folder and change the registry to use the new one?
Hi i got the same issue: When my SD card was in, it rebooted in loop!
And when i retired the SD card, it was fine.
But with SKTool, i deleted duplicated NotificationQueue and with a registry editor, i deleted the key: HKLM/Services/WLM
And now, no reboot looping anymore
Hope it works for u ^^
heyy i really need you'e help, im trying to fet to the bootloader id the diamond but i always end's up in the rgb screen, so please tell me what to do...
From the wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Diamond_FlashfIS
I have a similar problem. But mine is looking for movihand.mtg file then it goes to loading screen and it hangs. I wanted to flash the Deepshining 8 lite also.
I have a lot of files in my internal storage do i need to clear them and leave only the DIAMING.nbh thanks
i have spl 1.40 also thanks
Hope I can help!
Hey! First to 'avior.almo' You need to make sure you have flashed HardSPL to your device before trying to flash ANY ROM to your device (cooked, or custom, or otherwise!) If you are unsure of what I mean, or have any trouble, see sticky threads #2 and #4 of 'Diamond ROM development' http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430 (I use HardSPL Olinex 1.40)
Once you have this all in place, then flashing from the SD card is easy; you simply need to download the ROM you wish to flash, extract it (if it's downloaded as a .zip or .rar file) so you can find an '.nbh' file. The '.nbh' file is the ROM itself, and the file that you wish to flash. Once you have extracted the ROM you wish to flash (if you needed to extract at all. You may have downloaded the .nbh file as it is) then whatever the .nbh file name is, you need to rename the .nbh file to 'DIAMIMG.nbh' (without quotation marks).
Once you have done that, you need to copy it to your device's internal memory. To do this, connect your Diamond via USB, and when asked on your device screen, choose the 'Disk Drive' type of connection. Once complete, you can then navigate to the root of your (SD card) Internal Storage by accessing 'My Computer' through Windows explorer, Your device drive letter may be different depending on how many hard disks/CD drives you have in your system. (Mine is drive E Anyway, access your internal storage drive, whatever letter it may be on your system. It will appear under 'Drives with removable storage'. This is where you need to copy the 'DIAMIMG.nbh' file to. (To rdelsol: No, you don't need to clear your internal storage of any files or folders, as long as you have enough space in your internal storage to paste the ROM (.nbh file) that you wish to flash, in the root directory. E.g. 'E:' drive. It can be in there along with your 'program files' folder, or your 'my pictures' or 'my videos' folders. Flashing shouldn't delete any files or folders you have in your internal storage either. Even after flashing, 'DIAMIMG.nbh' should also still be there! (After flashing, you can delete that file)) And I noticed that in your post, you typed 'DIAMING.nbh' whether that was just a typo or not, I don't know, but it needs to be 'DIAMIMG.nbh', if so, that may be where you're going wrong.
So, now that we have the ROM image file in the root directory of your internal storage, you need to enter your device into bootloader mode, which is achieved by (while the device is on) holding down the 'VolDown' and 'back' (<-) buttons, while pressing the little red reset button (under the battery cover). Keep hold of the voldown and back buttons until your device displays the tri-colour screen. The instructions are then shown on-screen of what to do next (PROVIDING YOU HAVE HARDSPL INSTALLED, see beginning of post). Your device should detect the ROM image file (saved as DIAMIMG.nbh) and prompt you to press the power button to begin the flash. All going well, your device will display a progress bar, that when reaches 100% will say 'Update Success'
Now you need to press the red reset button again. After that, your device should begin setup of the new ROM as if it had just been bought. Alignment of screen, and maybe time and date setup, for example. Good luck with flashing and setup!
I have done many internal flashing, but today I tried again installing a new custom rom. Strange thing is that the bootloader says that it can´t find any image file and then quits to boot loader screen. I´ve tryied renaming the file using caps and without caps, and also with old radio in order to just test the flashing capability of the internal memory. No luck.
The phone did flash the same image from customruu. Now i´m thinking that it has to do with my messing with the internal memory for partitioning an ext2 and running (badly) android.
I realocated the ext2 partition and made the fat32 the whole internal memory. i´m not sure if i need to re-format the memory throught linux...
Any ideas why I can´t seem to run the internal flashing anymore?
**Disclaimer so that this doesn't get deleted. I looked at all the posts and tried to search, couldn't find any answers and I made this thread HERE because I doubt anyone in "General" would know what I'm talking about. This is more of a development question.**

Ok, I am actually having two problems.
1) Normally when I plug my phone in the computer and choose "disk drive" mode, a screen pops up on my PC titled "Removable Disk (J)" That's actually not the right one because right behind that screen I get another pop-up titled "Removable Disk (K)" and that's actually the one with the folders and everything that I'm supposed to use (the root of the sd card folder.) So I hit cancel on (J) and am on my way using (K).
Well over the weekend, on Friday, I rooted my phone using toast's way and then I went camping without doing ANYTHING else.
Then I come back last night, everything is working fine and I installed ROM Manager on there because I wanted to flash Pete's "BuglessBeast". Since my internet connection in my basement is super slow I decided to just leave it at that and work on it at work today. Well here I am.
Problem: Phone was not connecting to computer. It kept giving me errors and then asked me to Format my card. After about half hour of trying to get it to connect I said "fine.. I'll just format it and factory reset my phone and root all over again and do all this. Well now.. phone is only connecting to (J) drive. (K) never appears.
2) Also, after rooting and finding out that ROM Manager won't work for me I have to manually download the file, I tried to go into recovery mode and every time I selected "sd card: apply update.zip", I keep getting the same error saying "FILE NOT FOUND ON SD CARD".
Any help please?
Am I doing something wrong?
Is there a way to start over, all over again?
With the problem running (where you can see both disks), right click on "My Computer" and select "manage", then go to "Disk Management" and see if your SD card is partitioned or something. That's very unusual and should only present itself if your SD card is partitioned and it's seeing both partitions.

development is not for posting questions, q and a is for posting questions (hence the name)
you probably built an ext container before (partitioned the card, using one of the recoveries). if you partition the card, they will come up as two disks when you plug the usb in. when you 'repaired' it, it formatted the whole thing into one block. by formatting, you've erased anything you had on it. you'll have to put the files you want back on the card.

ive seen quite a few windows users on here name their file update.zip but have hidden file extensions turned on so in reality the name is update.zip.zip which will not work.
if thats not the issue, something sounds very wrong with your microsd card.
not sure why you had two partitions, J and K, but seems to hint at app2sd or had two partitions setup on the microsd card ...
my friend had one go bad on him yesterday, i had never seen it before but perhaps there is something defective.
otherwise, a reformat of the card, should bring it back to new.

Thanks joey.
So first of all i must say that im a completly noob at the android instalation on kaiser
I search for a noob tutorial but i coudnt fiind can someone post here a tutorial including files thanks
Here is the Guide in Sticky
How to replace Windows Mobile with Android (Guide) by Dukenukemx
scroll down to Installing Applications Onto SD Card using Ext2
This should help. The guide help me greatly, very easy to follow.
Hope this helps.
Its not tricky, I mean even I can do it, come on
I did edit a wiki page on this, but appears to be down, so here goes, from memory.
Backup any data first, just in case, not taking any responsibility for loss of data.
Firstly ensure your SD card if formatting correctly (FAT32), use on Gparted (linux live CD) to do this, (for me, I created two ext 2 partitions as well as I thought this would work best, works for me).
You then need the HaRET application to allow you to run Android. Google "haret.exe"
Extract the files this should create the right directory.
You then need to choose a build, this is personal choice, but I'll post the one I am testing right now. milanche's CyanogenMod 6 Kaiser
Put the installandroid.tar into the folder you created above.
Move to your SD card.
Find and run HeRET.
When screen shows text, tap and hold the center of the screen until you get a menu.
Choose install (ensure the options are set to SD).
Select Install
Once done, select Quit.
This then installs Android and can take a while, just leave it to get on with it.
You should then been booted into Android.
I might have forgotten something, as I am doing this from memory, but it should be fresh since I installed this last night.
Looks good to me, nice guide, don't think you missed anything
Thatnk you Zenity, but I know I couldn't have done this without your help in the begining when I first tried it. I know how it can seem all a bit over whelming.
I know a lot of people say 'search for it' but I did that just to see what I would find, and to be honest, I didn't get anything but that was of any use, so I can sympathis the search doesn't always get you the right results.
I could not remember the direcotry names when I wrote that at work and had to do it in a hurry as the entire office can see my magnified screen so it was a quick brain dump, not as nice as I would have liked to have written it given the time (which I did on the wiki but its down).
Anyway Keeps it fresh in my mind too.
I can only do this when I'm given the right files, I got confused myself when people started talking about different zImages. I tend to go for the builds where everything is bundled into one packing, as some can seem fragmented, ie Fresh Foryo, I don't doubt that it may be a good rom, but its deleivery is complicated (for me ).
Wish I had more time an experience to make my own build, I have done a bit of linix hacking in my time with shell scripts (getting wifi cardds working ona laptop etc), Its all interesting stuff.
thanks guys u helped me alot in the end i will instal android on an ext2 partition
Dear Leona,
The link seems no longer valid, can you tell where to find the latest HaRET application? Besides, how should I format my SD card? by special software? Thanks.
Dave
If you'd have problems with using Gparted Live CD like me... just because it does not mount SD card in adapter... here is what I did to partition the SDHC 4GB card...
I booted with HARET but did not select to install.. it gracefully fails to terminal
command: su
command: fdisk /dev/block/mmcblk0
deleted all current patrition (d)
created new partitions whith calculated size (8192 for 256MB)
changed type of the first and biggest patririon to FAT32 (t => c)
written all the changes to the partition table (w)
Than you should take out the card before rebooting and format FAT32 partition in win to upload all te android boot files, rebot the phone and follow with instalation...
But I must say, now I am using Scooters Cyanogen in NAND and it it far far easier
After I choose run, then a list of Linus commands ran, then it said
:loseup:/dev/block/loops: No such file or directory
Failed
Failed to reach system.img on SD card
By the way, anywhere I can download a complete set of files for running? Thanks.

look for the 4th post...
or this:

read a lot before attempting to do anything! use the search tool too, could be of some help.
For SD Partitioning, I remembered this Thread, which might help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=619290
Sounds like you are not holding the centre Dpad button (or pressing the centre of the screen) while haret is loading, yes this can be Hit and Miss it winds me up no end.
If you have access to a Linux machine (or boot a Live CD), as well as being useful for SD partitioning it also maybe used to try out Atools (you'll need to install python and python-tk (via the package manager)) as this will get you the right Kernels, images and configure your default.txt file for you, though I haven't managed to get the build script bit working yet, but that is down to my lack of understanding the instructions
Hey people,
Figured I would just start my own thread.
I have a Virgin Moble CDMA and it seems to be hard bricked.
With no battery in the phone plug in the USB cable to Windows computer unit vibrates 3 times and nothing more. Computer does not recognize that there is a device connected.
I created a gold card and placed the img file (Bare minimum to fix tripple vibe brick on USCC or VMUSA) from Simonsimon34's thread on the development area.
The SD is placed in the phone plugged in the USB get the 3 vibes and nothing else happens. I have tried waiting and then pushing the volume up to see if it will vibe again....it never does.
I know I am in what is referred to as "Qualcomm diagnostic mode" I have search and can not find anything helpful.
Any other ideas would be great.

I had this problem in the past.
Run the RUU found here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/c4e..._1.25_0815_PRL61007_release_219164_signed.exe
It will be a slow download and you may need to try a few times.
Close all open applications. Run the RUU, but stop at the screen where you are able to choose to view the Read Me. Go to Windows Explorer, and type %TEMP% and pick the top one. Find "rom.zip". Move that to the desktop. Format your SD card (FAT32). Rename rom.zip to PG76IMG.zip. Put PG76IMG.zip on your SD card. Then hope it works.
If you're not running Windows or you have other problems or it doesn't work, I'm sure the problems can be resolved.
Thanks for the quick response. But I have already tried this.
I should have mentioned that.
Kevin
So you did Simon's method and the RUU method?
This is basically what I did..let me know if I am missing something.
I first tried what I believe is Simons method:
1. Took SD connected to computer.
2. I then used Simple Gold card v1 to create the gold card.
* I already had my gold card image from before when the phone was still working.
3. I then placed the PG file on the SD card.
*I've tried both the PG file that I got from the temp folder that the ruu creates and I also tried the PG file on the Simon's developer thread ( the one labeled for 3 vibes)
4. Put the SD card in the phone, then connected the USB to the computer.
All the phone does is vibrate 3 times.
I then tried the RUU.
1. I installed the HTC synch software on the computer
2. Connected the phone to the computer also.
I have tried both with a gold card and a freshly formatted SD card.
3 I then run the RUU.... All I ever get is a USB error stated to make sure the phone is connected.

When you powered the phone on did you hold the volume up and press the power button at the same time?
Yes I have.
Ok, just a thought...
Alright, I had this same problem with my VM Marvelc. I had to send it in. Don't worry. They won't be able to check to see if you've modded because your radio and hboot are totally trashed. They should just send you a new one. (If you have a warranty of any sort.)
Unfortunately I doubt that I have any warranty, I got the phone from a relative who got it at the Elan show(payed $100). It was there X-mas show, she came home with a pile of electronics (tv, android tablet, this phone....). The phone was never activated, I was just about ready too.
My wife isn't too happy that I bricked it since I can't really afford to get another one.
I've spent about a week on it and from all the research I have done pretty much any phone that is in this state either the thread just ends or they get the phone exchanged.
I sent an email to HTC but they want me to call, I'll just try to play as dumb as possible.
Well I ended up calling HTC, come to find out my phone is still under warranty even though I bought this from relative. Looks like they just go by the serial number.
Thanks for all the help, I'll be back once I get the new one.
Kevin
Awesome. And if they ask, what happened was that you were waiting to do a FOTA, but you decided to do it. After the FOTA, this problem is occurring. (Don't tell them you were messing with ROMs.)
