i think the diamond section is in a great need of one/one more moderator.
there are posts to be moved and posts to be trashed. i also suggest that besides diamond, diamond rom development and diamond accessories to add a diamond trash where to be able to move all the "does the diamond have a led?" threads.
taking this job and responsibility it will be my way of saying "thank you" to this forum.
shameless self promotion?
I want to be a mod, but i dont have a diamond but im online most of the time or at least an hour a day here in xda-dev. Im just saying if anyone is considering.

"does the diamond have a led?" is a good question! must know the signal status! something important to someone better than does the diamond run Iphone apps?
Moderators are only part of the solution.
Every registered user has the ability to report posts/threads to the enitre moderation team. Use the little triangle with the ! in it.
This is alo a good way to make us aware of forums where there is a true need for additional Mods.

He has a point!
Also, mrvanx, who in my mind is the most active mod in the Diamond forums, does an astounding job clearing the trash.

question: does a mod need to know about the topics or just remove the trash
i want be a mod,im 5-6 hours around here, especially when i'm on work,i know what to do,and i'm not a mod on any other site,so i'll have plenty of time for this one...but then again who the hell is going to give it to me

I am sure if you really stay around and help out by showing mods all the junk needing to be removed they may pay you some attention mate ...
i do my duty as a member...report spams, advertising, fighting, care what i type, don't ask stupid or asked questions, help others solve their problems,so don't worry...and i'd feel weird if i get it...i mean you are here longer,so more active,i think....but look it the other way...if you are here longer, and have over 3500 posts...what's wrong with you...why aren't you noticed...do you report
just asking,not insulting
and as i could see the idea wasn't promoted by a mod...so does anyone ask them about it

Well maybe I am too conflicting and not a conformist. Who knows . All I do is help all , run a ftp , write reviews on all roms i test trying to cover them all and hopefully will aquire some other phones to test more roms in other areas on ....
well when we are speaking about mods...one question...there are forums that don't count posts in off topic threads...should you do it here
i mean lots of guys got their posts by complaining about wifes, husbands, what music they listen to,writing jokes....this isn't fair...first time i went to off topic and posted was yesterday...other 100 posts were kinda help to others...artemis,atom,hermes and magician forums...because i have the devices, and i test everything and give review and help
well the number of posts isn't too important, but is something that is watched when e.g. giving apps and roms to beta testers...they give it to guys with most posts...which they gained in off topic...so there is no real knowledge and developer creativity in them
one more thing...would it be good to make these "thanks" buttons like those guys on pdaviet have...so we don't get lost in thanking, but get to the piont....would it require changing vBulletin
lol...i prob wouldnt come close to qualifying...

well read my post above....that about "off-topicers"
Ok off topic we have another thief stealing work from xda and selling on ebay ..... I just wrote a note to ebay and ask all that read do the same ..... here is my note .....
I noticed an item is being sold that is not the property of the seller. How I know is I am a member of XDA forum which is where the software was designed. it is Item number: 250269408312. Many memebrs and admin from the site have contacted and sent letters to ebay in the past refring to items such as theese being sold here.
Here is the item # 250269408312

Is this a good forum to express my disappointment and a bit of my anger ?
My paid app was cracked and posted here at the end of August. I've been responding on the thread and helping people.
I didn't realize until now that the app posted, AND HOSTED here on XDA, was cracked !
Stupid me, huh ? But why would I download my own app ? So I never checked until now.
I reported the posts; is there anyway to ask for priority in my thread/post/attachment violation reporting ?
And am I better off just going with a donation model, since almost anyone who wants my app for free can find it anyway ? And my paid app is just an unlocker anyway, giving extra features people could live without by using my free base app.
Between stuff like this, and the absolute lack of help Google gives to developers helping them to make their 30%, I'm really starting to hate on Android now...
Hey,
I've removed the offending thread. Rest assured that we have a ZERO tolerance policy with regards to warez on XDA, however it's inevitable that things may go unnoticed.
I can only apologise for the amount of time that this was left on the forums. It's very uncommon that a report concerning copyright/warez will be left for more than 24hrs, obviously though this depends on the violation being noticed and reported.
It was not entirely obvious from the OP of that thread that it was a paid version being offered and not simply the free version. I appreciate that this doesn't excuse the fact but it is the reason why this is only now being dealt with.
Once again, apologies for this should you (although hopefully you wont) experience this again then feel free to PM a senior moderator as well as reporting the post in question. This may lead to the situation being dealt with more promptly.
Thank you !
No need to apologise. It's absolutely not the fault of anyone here at XDA, other I think than the OP of that thread, and perhaps anyone who realised it was cracked and said nothing.
I even downloaded it myself a few days back and noted it was re-packaged but didn't realise it was a cracked version, for which any unlock code could be entered. My light bulb lit up when I downloaded this cracked version from a Chinese language website.

Yup, it's an important lesson for anyone doing paid apps - if nobody spots it, then we won't hear about it... Always best to do a regular google search for your app, to see if you've found it on places...
S9 frp issue, don't know model number & need to bypass soon to be ex wife's phone! He
My soon to be ex wife's (Att) S9 is locked up at the frp screen requesting her Google account information to proceed after I did a reset. Obviously she won't give it to me, Trying to use the Odin method but I'm not sure what combination file to use because I can't access the model number etc. Any direction greatly appreciated.
It's not your phone man. Have some dignity, show some respect, give it back to her.
Straight up, you'll feel better for it in the long run.
Lmfao
Not her house or savings account either but she didn't show the dignity you speak of captain save a hoe... You want her number, sounds like you would be a great match ?
you're the one who didn't sign a prenup.
we don't usually provide frp bypass exploits (if we had one) because it's used by thieves 99% of the time.
sorry

XDA does not help members hack other peoples phones, read the rules
Thread moved to Q&A and closed.
FRP is done for something and we at XDA do not allow discussions to bypass such security systems, even if it's for good reasons in the end, we don't take that risk.
Please read the rules again HERE.
In particular, this one here below:
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

Senior Moderator
You came here, and I immediately disappoint you because I'm personally unable to assist you in this task. I sincerely apologise for that. But you'll find other members here who are glad to be able to assits you in getting your SIM-locked device unlocked FOR FREE!
That brings me to my two requests, recommendations, suggestions or how you want to call it; however, it all depends on YOUR personal choice:
To SIM-unlock your device will make it necessary that you provide personal information like your last name or your phone number. Please do NEVER post these data publicly in a thread! If you decide to want this kind of support, please provide this information ONLY BY PERSONAL MESSAGES (PM)!
Those reputable XDA members who live the spirit of XDA do offer their service and support for free and will never ask you for a donation during any step of the process. Although, if you satisfied with the final result you're certainly free to donate whatever you believe is desired.
If any member asks you to donate etc. before the support is provided, please use the report function that is also available for PM's and report such a request immediately without a further reply or reaction to the PM. Same applies to any suspicious post in a thread.
Thanks very much for listening - and we hope that you got your devices soon unlocked without any problems.
How do I accomplish an undetectable mock location on the new android OS? I would be willing to pay someone for helping me out with this. please help
Let me get this straight, you're asking for help on defrauding your employer?
Perhaps you haven't read the Forum Rules:

I would argue that if you're that concerned about your privacy, you need to find a new employer.

Dude who said anything about breaking the law? Why would you waste your time replying with nonsense? What I'm trying to do is 10000% legal. Who said I live in your country and your laws apply to me? Please don't respond back.

We are a worldwide forum, and as such, we respect the laws of many countries, not just Canada (where this site is hosted). What I'm saying is not nonsense - we do not permit the use of this forum for anything illegal or unethical. Further, you must treat everyone on XDA with civility and respect. I strongly suggest you take a moment to review the Forum Rules linked in my signature, especially the section on Member Conduct. I would like to warn you that your membership here is contingent on your compliance with the Forum Rules.
As a direct answer to your original question, it is possible to hide the use of mock location via Xposed modules such as this one. Note that this requires Magisk and the Xposed framework, and it is possible that your employer's app might detect these as well. Do with this information what you will, but you are wholly and singularly responsible for any consequences that may arise from this.
