OK, thanks.
I guess you can't get the 3G data connection with this device in SF, right?
I'm using it on AT&T network. So far it works flawlessly with .05 radio. Sorry for asking this, but does anyone know AT&T's 3g band in Southern California? Is it 850mhz or 1900?

I've seen quite a few posts with people all over the world having issues with 3G internet issues with the 1.51 radio update? I would like to keep it because it is the fastest radio pertaining to phone response but the internet issue is big. It works fine on edge but when dropping into 3G, no success. I've seen some people have no problems at all and this internet issue seems random (I know its not). Anyone know a solution to this (besides going back to 1.50)?

Well, perhaps this radio versión is originaly intended for some carriers only.
For me, Orange Spain, works great with 3G and HSDPA. As great as 1.50 one.
1.51 issues
I've heard some have success on the same carrier (I'm in the US) and most are having the issue. I thought that originally too but I've seen people have it work on ATT and mine does not. 1.50 may become the solution after all.

i hear too that ATT is migrating his 3G network in some cityes. This can be the cause that works for someone and don't work for all ppl with ATT.
I only can say works great in Orange Spain.

Working fine on the 3G Cingular network here in New Haven, CT also working fine on both ROGERS and FIDO neworks in Canada
... and it´s working great with Movistar here in Spain. As with other Radios you have to go with what suits your network best. I had loads of problems with 1.46, 1.47 and 1.48 but this (1.51) and 1.50 are fine here on my home network.

I'm reading a lot of "1.51 works great" posts. It "works great" for me too unless I turn on 3G in a 3G coverage area. Then the internet access stops working. Since that is the problem specifically, please indicate whether you tested 3G internet. As of now I can only assume that everyone has.
3G working great for me in Los Angeles, CA. I'm actually in 3G area in San Fernando Valley for those in LA, but I haven't had a single problem.
Issues in UK?
Any one running this on T-Mobile UK?
Cheers
Not Working
In Kansas City area, with 3G connects but just shows "locating...." until finally says site not available. note: get 3G icon, switches to H icon and back but would not locate site)

I am in Michigan on AT&T and I am having the smae problems as you, No UMTS at all If I turn off 3g I can get internet, but once i turn it on "can't load page error's" pop up. I noticed that in network setup that with 1.51 it defults to CDMA instead of GSM but even if I try to change it reverts back to Wcdma so I thought by reading these post of people that have a working ver that maybe thiar carrier is Cdma but I see AT&T post from Georgia and Texas that are having no problems and Cingular/AT&T are GSM only. So I am baffieled. I saw right off the bat a strong improvement in my bars after I flashed it. I normally see 2 to 3 and it jumped to 5 a strong 5 that is why I am hoping one of the super cooks can offer us a soultion. anyway good luck let me know if you find out .
This Radio woks gr8 for nordic Countries. i get it atry today its OK
I wanted to revisit this discussion that has crept into a couple of other threads.
I have a Diamond I bought from Hong Kong back in mid-June. I'm in Canada and using the phone on Rogers' network. I'm afraid I don't remember the shipped ROM and radio, but it was one of the early ones.
In spite of other threads that say Diamonds out of Europe and Asia can't use Rogers 3G network, I was definitely able to access it. The download speeds were very fast (I downloaded a 40 MB podcast file in a matter of seconds) and the HSDPA "H" showed regularly (sometimes switching to EDGE in poor reception areas).
I decided to change the ROM a couple of days ago and have tried a number of different ones (Dutty 1.6, HK WWE 1.93.831.1, Elite 3.0) and tried some different radios (v1.00.25.07 and v1.00.25.05) but was never successful in getting HSDPA back and now I can only get EDGE.
I have searched the whole site for useful input on this subject but have yet to see anyone who has had HSDPA on Rogers like me. Was I just lucky or is there no way I could have been getting 3G? Can I get back to the early ROM and radio to see if it would work again (in spite of the slower performance)?
Help would be appreciated.

What kind of hardware of you using? Diamond 130?
I just cant see HTC wasting the money to have 2 different sets of hardware for European and american bands. That would be 2 different assembly lines, sets of workers, etc. But I am getting serioulsy frustrated trying to find out if I can download a Radio that will work with at&t 3g......
I just spoke to an Expansys rep and he said they will be receiving a NA version in 3 weeks, I asked if this was going to be a different hardware version he seemed very sure it was
I still am very skeptical..... for a launch this big, on top of that, at&t is getting the touch pro, and when it comes to htc products, at&t will only sell quadband pocket pc's. I really still doubt this will be different hardware. Especially if the person who posted this already had 3g on their EU diamond until they flashed a different rom.
EDIT* also, it could be he wanted to make a sale when they got them in, rather than you buy a European one now. Just one salespersons point of view.
Here is a link, let me know what you find. These are A BUNCH of the old roms. Let me know which one lets you have the 3g band

I have the same DIAM100, it originally came with 1.93 and I did not even have GSM850 until I flashed latest official ROM with 850Mhz support. But I'm in US and AT&T uses 850Mhz for WCDMA bands here.
I really hope you are right and DIAM100 can pick up 3G bands in NA

Yes, it's a huge ripoff but I was on Rogers site this morning...and I see that they have a promotional package on until Aug. 31. $30 for 6GB...added to your current voice plan. That's not too bad...their current pricing for 5GB is $100/mo.
...probably for the IPh**e launch...
Unl. internet for at&t in US, 15 dollars. They dont know I have a PDA

Blazer, thanks for this link. I spent a while trying out old ROMs but without success. I don't ever remember seeing "3G" but I did get an "H" (I'm not too sure what that means though). I have read through other posts and see that people are successfully getting voice on the 850 band and hoping for UMTS to follow on future radio versions.

I'm using the Rogers $30 for 6GB package and do quite a bit of surfing now and will probably do more audio streaming. I figured that since you have to pay something like $25 for 2 MB, $30 for 6GB is a relatively good deal.

Are you sure its a GSM network? As far as I know, the galaxy s is incompatible with cdma networks. I could be wrong tho.
Sent from my LG-P930
Movistar in Spain uses GSM, not CDMA, but the bands are not the same for 3G, that'e your problem. You won't get 3G on Europe, only in the US with AT&T, Canada with almost any carrier, and any country from Mexico to Argentina.
Maybe in Australia/India you can have 3G, I don't know, but there are some members with a Glide from India, they can answer this better than me.
Thank you, I'm stupid, I should havechecked that before buying the phone

I think I may have good news for you, check this:
http://www.unlockit.co.nz/mobilesettings/settings.php?id=27
There's a good chance you have to set the APN settings manually, the above link shows you how to do this. These are the settings that tell your phone how to get onto the data network, if those are not already in the phone or set automatically. Give it a try, your problem has occurred more often and this was the solution!
Setting the APN manually should get internet working, but since the phone doesn't support the bands needed for 3G in Spain, that won't solve the 2G only problem. Still, working 2G data should make it at least fairly usable until you acquire a phone that supports your local bands.
Perhaps not in Spain then, but it works elsewhere in Europe. I live in The Netherlands and I get 3G. Haven't looked into the frequency bands, but it all works perfectly here. There are several other European users here, and I've never read anything about not having 3G because of frequency band issues.

I love my Nexus 5x, but there has been some drawbacks. Since I have switched to PureNexus however the things has been a brand new phone. I am headed to Santiago Chile and I was wondering if anyone had any experience using their phone there? Also if they have any tips that would be great too.
I am a T-mobile user, but I am also wondering about local providers, however I am only there for 7 days.
Thanks for the help!

I am super excited! Thanks for the tip, do you think I should grab a local Sim? And if so what carrier?
Yes, I think you can buy a chip from Entel (I have that carrier) or Movistar and it should works fine, usually those have few GB and free social media use.
Also note that in the link you posted, it should be a subway station at "Parque O'Higgins", right between "Toesca" and "Rondizzoni" stops, that should be your stop if you go by subway
My LG G3 is slowly dying so I'm looking for a cheaper phone that will still do everything I need, and this one seems like it fits everything perfectly! I'm in the US though (on ATT) and can't for the life of me figure out the best way to get it? Any suggestions? If it helps I'll be in France and Paris in two days, but not able to go to the UK. Thanks!
Unfortunately you can't. You can buy the phone but it won't work in US.
There are 2 editions to this phone. One from china:
http://www.willmydevicework.com/com...p2c72-dual-sim-td-lte-64gb/at-t-united-states
None of the bands are supported so you won't get any network.
Then there's this one which they sell in UK:
http://www.willmydevicework.com/com...p2a42-dual-sim-td-lte-32gb/at-t-united-states
So you can see you would only be able to run the phone in 3g which I don't think is an ideal situation to be in.

if that's the case then maybe that site's info is not 100% accurate.
All 4 major carriers except sprint support LTE band 4 (1700) which is included in Lenovo P2. But you might have the coverage not in all the places. e.g Tmobile is extending mostly its 700 band (12) for future not the bands 2 and 4. So it might be not the best option out there but still an option.
