Me newbie, HELLLLP please.
Got xda1, need unlock to use T-mobile sim, used xdaunlock but still locked.
Flashed ROM, now got xda-developers ROM (COOL!) but still being asked
for GID code when I put T-mobile sim in, and now, even worse, I get the same request for GID code, with an O2 sim card in.
Should I re-install the xda-developers ROM, but this time with my T-mobile
sim card in? Or is there something else I should do?
I'm beginning to wish I'd just bought an O2 pay as you go sim in the first place.
Might I need to change the GSM band from 900/1800 to ?
ROM version ......... 3.17.03 ENG
ROM date.............. 15/05/03
Radio version ....... 4.20.00

I want to buy tytn or any version of it on ebay and most of them are locked without a sim card.
My question is can i unlock this phone without the orange or o2 simcard if it locked to that provider.

This question may be a little noob for everyone here but I really need to understand couple(or 3) of things here:
1. What basically is a SIM lock? is it software lock or some kind of hardware(registers) lock ?
2. If I get a new (brand new) phone from Rogers canada .. say HTC S621 and I flash it with one of the custom ROMs like NRG's or Kavanas... will it also remove my SIM lock...?
Actually the reason I am asking these questions is ....
I already have a HTC S621 which I SIM unlocked from some site for 30 some dollars about a year back. I was with Rogers rom at that time.
Now I upgraded to NRG remade rom .. so is my phone still SIM unlocked.... ?

If you paid $30 for it, it is most likely a Sim unlock, which allows you to use others sim cards. CID unlock is a free app that is floating around here somewhere, and it is just a software unlock that allows you to put others Roms on your phone. For example, mine is a tmobile dash that is still sim locked to tmobile, but I have ahd Rogers, HTC, and multiple kitchen roms on it without any problems. Sim unlock would allow me to use an AT&T or other type of carriers sim card in it as well, but I dont need that.
Your phone will still be Sim unlocked if it has been unlocked in the past.

Please replace CID with sim lock... I wrote the question keeping in mind Sim lock but I dont know y on the earth I kept on writing CID...

My basic question is
1. Does flashing a ROM on a SIM Locked phone breaks the SIM LOCK? and
2. If My phone is with Rogers , I got it Sim Unlocked by paying 30 bucks.. and then reflashed to NRG Rom.. is it still locked or unlocked..

A friend of mine asked me to unlock the SIM restriction of her mother's phone.
I tried flashing a stock rom and TWRP. I did it, but still it's SIM locked for a specific network.
What should I do? Is it possible to unlock it by software or I should give it back to her?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
