Change the speed of LED flash on text message alert? - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi everyone!
I'm not too much of a frequent visitor here, so apologies if I have missed a similar thread. I had a quick search.
Just a quick question:-
Is there an update/ registry hack that would allow me to speed up the rate of the LED flash alert when I have a text message?
I frequently miss texts and my Orbit (Mk1) will obviously revert back to it's 'sleep' state. It would be good to see at a brief look for any missed texts, without having to wait to see if the text alert is flashing or the green signal LED!!! I'm a little bit colour blind which can make it a little difficult in the wrong light.
Can it be done?
Thank you all once again!

Notification light question

I have the Siemens SX-66 and it has on its top right corner a LED light that blinks certain colors to give information as to whether it is charging and if it is working and such. Anyway, when I am away from the phone and I return to it is the light is blinking red that means I missed a call so I turn the screen on and see what is up. It does not do that for a text message, though. After being away from the phone I have to turn the screen on to see if I missed a text message. What I want to know is there a way I can make it to where if I miss a text message while away that the red light wil blink then too and not just when I missed a phone call?
THANKS!!!
yes u can, go
"Start">"Settings">"Sounds & Notifications"
Select "Notifications" tab
On the "Event", select "Messaging: New text message"
then u can c "Flash light for", check it then select the desire amount of time to flash after u "missed" a text message.
It is not here
I have the Siemens SX-66. I did what you suggested and went to Start">"Settings">"Sounds & Notifications. There was only a box that was already checked that said events (warnings, system events)
The other stuff are options I do not have. The stuff you told me, could it be for a different phone, or version of OS?
bump
I just had to bump this. This person gave me what was probably the correct answer but for a different phone because these instructions do not fit my phone. Can ANYONE help me? PLEASE!!!
No help?
Can't anyone help me here? The directions I was given was not correct for the model phone I have and I just HAVE to think it is feasable! PLEASE HELP! THANKS!!!!
Have you tried the software PhoneAlarm?
V
What is that?
I do not have a clue as to what that is. What is that? Is it software you add-on or something? If so what does it do and where do you get it? All I really want to do is change what I think would be a simple setting.
Thanks!!

Although you only need a simple notification setting, the LEDs can be tempremental.
Phonealarm is custom software, which is pretty much indispensible for any Phone user. I highly recommend it. Tell Bruce I sent you
It will give custom notifications depending on the kind of event, eg sms, missed call etc.

Money
This is not a huge deal and so I am not willing to spend money on it. I just want to change a setting or mess with the registry some how to make it where when a text message comes in while I was away from my phone that the notification light blinks red like it does when I miss a call in the same scenerio. It can't be this difficult and I have to think it is possible.
You have to click on the "Notifications" tab at the bottom of the screen to get to the notifications area, you are looking at the "Sounds" tab.
YES!!!
Now THAT is what I wanted. THANK YOU!!!!
The third line of the first reply to this post does specify the "notifications" tab, maybe you just missed it, but the answer was there.
have fun adjusting your notification settings hehe
if you want to use a wav file for a sound notification, place the wav file in your windows directory and it will allow you to select it. I have Hal from space odyssey tell me when "there is a message for you"

Red flashing LED when a new SMS arrive.

issit possible to have this feature? anyway i can tweak the registry to enable this? i find it quite useful, juz like when i have a Missed Call, i will know abt it thru the red flashing LED.
go to Start=>Settings=>Sounds & Notifications=>Notifications(tab)
in Event choose Messaging:New text message, then check Flash light for, and coose the time that you want to continiuing to blink
thanks alot xplode. didnt noe its that easy. thanks!

SMS Delivery Notification alert

Good day gents!
When I receive delivery reports on my SMS's, i would like there to be no alert on the report. So the report gets delivered into my Inbox without 'alarm3.wav' playing.
I have tried looking in the following:
RegEdit: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSDeliveryNotify
But that just seems to activate/deactivate the delivery reports.
If anyone is willing to help, it would be much appreciated.
Thanx in advance
PS: I hope I made sense above...
Why don't you try MortRing? Think that proggie does the trick. It can be found at http://www.sto-helit.de or check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=236909
Tool works fine for me! Good luck with it.
I am sure I am completely misunderstanding your question, but on the slight chance that I am not: why don't you just uncheck play a sound in the sounds and notification settings?

WM 6.1: Threaded SMS issues, other stuff

Hi all!
Well, I installed 6.1 and it works great! It's a new dash, and I HATE the T-mobile OS with a passion. I downgraded from a wing (though it feels like I upgraded to be honest... nothing but problems with the wing) so I don't know if this is a WM 6.1 issue, or a Dash issue, but I've got some problems:
1. I love the whole "IM" feel of a threaded SMS message, and I'd really like to use it, but I had to disable it, because FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T SCROLL UP TO READ OLDER MESSAGES!!!
I tried EVERYTHING and I just can't do it!! I had my girlfriend send me 4 messages in a row while I was sleeping and I can only see the last 2. I had to disable threading just to read her messages! I'd like to fix this. Can someone please tell me how to scroll up for the love of God???
2. Since I disabled threading, I now have a new issue... 2, actually. They're not problems, just annoying as hell.
- I've got a light green format now. Light green header background with darker green text. Edit area is green text, which is nice, but I'd prefer black & white, or a darker green at the very least. Is it possible to edit this without changing the whole damn theme?
- When I open an incoming text message, I see a blank white screen. At first I thought it crashed, but then hit the "Up" button and saw that it opened the message, and put me at the BOTTOM of the message by default! Again, not a big deal, but it is a pain. I'd really like it to be at the top of the message (the header) at LEAST at the top of the message body. Anything I can do for this??
Sorry if this topic appears elsewhere... I DID search, but got about a million results back and nothing relevant. If you're going to get mad at me, at least link me to a topic that's already covered these issues Thanks!!
Thanks again, in advance, for your forthcoming help!!

1. I have used several of the 6.1 ROM's from Kavana and Ricky, and am able to scroll up on a threaded conversation that goes beyond the bounds of the screen.
Sorry I don't have any other answers for you. What 6.1 ROM did you install?
Kavana 6.1
What did you try to do to scroll up? I can very easily scroll up to older SMS messages by pressing up on the directional pad. This is on the latest Kavana 6.1.
That's what I did... pushed "Up". Nothing happened. The cursor stayed in the edit area, and the screen didn't move.

How to make repeated notification for missed calls or Msg?

Hi,
Using GNex with stock JB 4.11.
With my former dumb phone, when I missed a call or a msg, the phone made a brief sound notification periodically as a reminder. With the GNex, there is no reminder. I must wake up the phone and notice a tiny icon in the notification area. Is it possible to configure the GNex to remind by vibration & sound missed events (calls, message, and possibly calendar)?
Thanks.
Although people mostly recommend Light Flow (Light Flow Lite) for controlling the LED, it also controls notification sounds/vibration if you want. It can do repeating notification sounds on whatever interval you'd like.
Its a bit of a hassle to set up though because you need to turn off all notifications in the app natively, then use Light Flow as your only way of controlling them, iirc.
Hi,
Cool thanks. I will check that out. BTW, I find the periodic notification of missed events a useful feature. How come such an advanced device cannot do such a simple thing? I assume "simple" because that is what a dumb phone can do. Or is there any technical / logical reason for not doing this kind of notification in the world of smartphone?

I would assume that the repeat notification option isn't really as necessary when you have a really good notification system that keeps everything together in one place. Not to mention that people kinda live on their phones nowadays, so I guess they assume people won't be missing notifications that often.
GoSMS has the ability to have "reminders"
