I cooked an ASUS p552W ROM that is intended to work an ASUS P552 and GPS is functional !!!.

ROM FLASHING:
ATTENTION!
-TAKE CARE NOT TO INTRERUPT THE FLASHING PROCESS. IF IT HAPPENS TRY AGAIN BUT DON'T SOFT RESET OR HARD RESET!
-DONT FORGET THAT FLASHING PROCESS HAS SOME RISK WHITCH YOU NEED TO ASSUME.
1. Extract .abi file on your microSDCard.
2. Link the phone with PC trough USB cable.
3. Press and keep pressing DOWN button from navikey.
4. Press and release soft reset button (litle hole on right side from USB) till bootloader menu appears.
5. Now release the down button
6. Wait till installer finish the work !
DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK!

odpowiem ci polsku bo pewnie poza polakami mało kogo obchodzi temat asusa p552.sflaszowałem tym romem i nic gps nie działa w moim przypadku na automapie, nie działa na tych ustawieniach ani zadnych innych.

Delete the content of VCOM key from registry (now it has some entries but with null values). It can be done in TotalCommander or another registry editor.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\VCOM
Do a soft reset
Normally that error need to be disappeared. (but I have functioned also with that error and I could get GPS working)
If you already have some GPS applications on SDCard and you want to use them than you need to set again the parameters for GPS or better to clean all old settings and let the program adjust himself. If it find old values it will try to function with that, but it will fail. I have this problem also. But I guarantee that the GPS is functioning, I'm am using this firmware now.
It has also more user memory! just check it.
Have you modified the parameters in External GPS as I wrote? After modification is needed a soft reset.
But let me now any problem, observations, maybe it help me to find the complete solution, without needing other registry tweaks!

P.S. There are also other combinations for External GPS port setting that works!
GPS program ports: COM9, COM2, none
GPS hardware port: COM2,COM6, COM2
Do a soft reset after modifying them!

I will do it for you in weekend, I'm searching to correct the problem to get a functional ROM without need that registry corrections after.
Even I not succeed I will do it in weekend. Is good to have it even with a little extra work with registry.

I'm working on it . i try 2 versions of WM 6.5 but it still have crash...need extra work, but I hope can get soon an working version.

przeczytaj wyżej facet pracuje nad nowymi romami.
Napisz jeżeli flaszowałeś to jak u ciebie funkcjonuje bo u mnie gps nie zawsze się uruchamia i nie wiem od czego to zależy.

Mi dziala poprawnie jak narazie, testowalem go 1 raz i szybko zlapal sygnal, duzo lepszy od romu orange - wiecej miejsca, dodatkowe progamy, czekam tylko na spolszczenie

Rom zdecydowanie lepszy ale u mnie z tym gpesem coś nie tak po prawidłowym uruchomieniu następnym razem się nie uruchamia muszę zrobic SR czasem nawet kilka razy może na innym porcie potestuję jakbyś mógł podać swoje ustawienia?

Wgrałem ten rom, usunełem wpis z rejestru VCOM i nie działa wcale tylko autompa pokazuje mi krzaczki w informacjach o gps a jaką masz prędkość może to od tego zależy?

It seems that the Polish version of ASUS P552 Orange has more differences, because I get constant blockage when trying to combine AGPS module from P552 Orange with Polish version of P552W. But I learn a lot and I keep working. Just need a bit more time to try and test and I will do a Polish version to.

Is this a nandroid dump or based on OTA patches?

This is a straight up WWE repack? No root, no anything? For an end-user, I feel like lox's WWE with root would be the better choice, but perhaps this will be the perfect base for other ROMs to be built off of.

Are 6 languages definitely all that it has for 5.12 or are they meant to be more?
