Does anyone know how i can changed the color of my folders in WM6 to any other color instead of white? i would like to change it to something like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334781&page=3
i also attached a picture so that you can see what it looks like.
use this software:
http://freewareppc.com/utilities/uitweaker.shtml
i've been using it for quite some time now. it's quite stable but changing the background colors takes some effort....not to mention a number of soft resets.
the app has like 4 sections:
pt explorer - not really used
tdyscheme changer - for changing your today scheme fonts, colors, etc
syscolor change - * this is the one you need *
wm5 color change - you can also use this. don't worry about the wm5 tag. i use wm6 and it still works fine
when opening the system color change tab, you can scan around the drop down menus to change whatever section you want. example, if you want to change the windows color, just drop to that menu and thus make the necessary changes.
it takes some getting used to as well but it works just fine. oh, and when you're done changing it'll ask to soft reset to enable the said changes.

I was wondering if anyone knew the reg hack to change the startmenu/softkey font to Arial..
The great majority of users I know use a replacement start menu of some sort making it as easy as going to the options. If you want to change the default start menu's font I am relatively certain that it will change everything that uses the system font. I would find the reg-edit for you, but I don't have my registry editor installed right now, you can probably find it on Google.
Kevin1a, unfortunately not, mate. I've changed my system font by SPB Tips and Tricks and it did not change the softkeys' font. And SPB changed three types: main font, menubar font and popup menu font.
I also tried SKTools, but I did not find any option to change them.
In fact, I really want to know how can I change the softkeys' fonts too.

I ran into this "problem". I changed my background to a picture and used the bg 4 all utility to have the same background on all manila tabs, but now my backgrounds are also changed in the SMS reading panel 'threaded sms), the contacts screen and maybe some others screens too. Because this text is in black, my changed background makes the text very hard to read and it should be changed to white if possible. Does anyone know if and how you can change the text color?
I searched the forum, but didn't find answers.
same problem
i have also this problem.
i deleted this app.but i love it
help help help
is there anyway to make this problem
Would also like to know if there is any update on this, the other alternative I have posted a thread for is how to have a little more customization over where the background goes, e.g. select to leave default background on contact edit window etc etc.
Hopefully someone can help?
Jody
Update on this, found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479112&highlight=curtain
The stocklite CAB allows what we were after, only the manilla tabs get the background, the ones with the white background remain.
I am running it successfully on Dutty V3
I haven't personally tried the background for ALL tabs and apps yet, but this does sound intriguing. I have spent ages playing around with an APP that changes ALL the text, pop-up, bars, scrollbars, title, background etc etc colours, in an attempt to have a completely black background and crisp white text (ie. like TF3D). However... there are limitations to this, and it is VERY hard to achieve a consistant and fuinctional look (since many colours are shared, and quite often you come across a pop-up or menu items that are the same colour).
But... if the APP you mention underlays a black background image in PocketOutlook without actually changing the preset windows colour... this may actually work.
Here's the freeware to tweak colours (UI Tweaker): -

I'm definitely interested to see if anyone else gets somewhere with this?
Hi Guys, not even sure if this is possible, but can the WiMo scroll bars be skinned? I'm referring to the arrows and the bar itself.
I notice that the 6.5 scroll bars and arrows are different to 6.1, but is this "controllable" and can we change it ourself? If it is possible, what files would I need to change?
already tried such a way and there is no easy path about it. meaning there is no software or whateverware that allows you to do such thing. the only option available today is the one of changing system colors (you know like in normal pc's window background etc) and it does not even work well. I guess that a small proggie that behaves like fingermenu would do the trick...

yeah, I didn't think there would be a software program to do it, was wondering if there's any .dll to embed the images or reg key to change it... Similar to how programs like KiteOS can change the scroll bars on desktop Windows to look like the Aqua theme bars...
Then again, given that TouchFLO is supposed to be usable instead of the scroll bar, I could just set the width to zero in registry and be done with them...
tried aswell but unfortunately this is not the best option... you will actually needed those sucky things sometime (for dropdown menus mainly, if the amount of choices is more lines than displayable, scrolling to the end is a difficult task...)
I was thinking that at the time where developers will have access to Mango accent colours, it could be a lovely idea to make an app like this:
http://colorschemedesigner.com/
Imagine a "light version" of this app for WP7 with:
1. The same access to color data (viewing of hex/rgb values)
2. A big "randomizer button" to randomly produce combinations (like the one inside the online app menu...)
3. Presets with load save
4. ..an "apply as theme colors" function (the app would map the generated colors to each of the available parts (registry keys) of the OS.
..someone could tap the randomizer button if he doesn't know about color combinations, until he finds one he likes. Then, he could manually or automatically (randomly) map colors to the appropriate areas of the OS. (I think this is about 3-4 color mappings), save the combination into a preset and apply it by adding it as an accent color in phone's theme menu.
I could definitely buy such an app, even if it was an expensive one.
i think what you are looking for is called Advanced Config

Advanced Config:
1. Doesn't work properly (It closes right after I open it in Mango and I also get an error message at the start. I had it before some months and it worked...I don't know what happened)
2. It doesn't have a color scheme generator (we can just choose one color for the tiles and active fonts and that's all). So we can't change background / tile / tile font colors according to an already tested combination of colors.
3. It doesn't have a randomizer (which, if all the above existed, could modify all of the OS colors with a minimum amount of aesthetic errors. Not all combinations are suitable for every use, but at least many of them could be quickly accessible with just the press of a button and they could be even modified if the user wanted.
...for those who say that WP7 has already great colors and doesn't need apps/functionality like this I can say that the system doesn't get bloated with an advanced color customizer. It gets bloated when someone tries to radically change the style of the UI, like making the 2d icons look like "iphone 3d icons" etc...that could be bad...but having the ability to properly change tile/background/font colors, is like MS making us part of their design team.
Moved to WP7 Software development
This is not the place for a discussion about a non existent app. Please post in the correct section.

Sorry for the wrong thread. I hadn't noticed that section..
I don't know what caused this but when a call is incoming, the ignore button is totally white while the answer button is normal as it should be.
Any idea what might have caused this?
Have you applied a custom theme? Try changing your theme to the default theme.

the theme is default.
Can the installation of root tools have something to do with that?
This also happened to me, affecting lockscreen numbers too. I'm going to look look into the registry later as I think it's probably just caused by root tools or a custom theme accidentally changing one of the button color codes to #000000. I'll post my findings later.
Sent from my LG-C900B using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
it is happened to me too some time ago (before install root tools 0.9)
when i managed custom themes with metro themes or other homebrew registry hack (ie advanced config or mods for black mails layout) for theming the accent colors
reinstall metrothemes and try to apply default theme to black background and white background also and restart phone (remember to apply black layout to black themes and white to whote themes)
hope you fix, i have fixed my white ignore button with this method
it is due to changing the registry entries of theme/0 or theme/1 folder, chromecolor or an another entry, i have the same issue and get it back with all the stock settings. or you have copied some xaml files to the windows/ folder of your device that changed the registry edits for you, if they are still in the windows folder you must delete them, but you also must delete the custom accent of that xaml that you delete.
I was using the app Metro theme or something like that, homebrew. Reverting to the stock worked.
Thanks.. I reset to default and it works again. Strange as I swear I've done that many times already. Cheers

metro sytle or something? i know, it changes the background but also some other parts and if only one xaml file dont work like it should then some thing mess up the phone icon in call history as example, or the call ending button during call, or the status bar, or the icons of each letter in the people hub. and so on, if you want to change some things you must know which registry entry is for what, and you must know before you change it how it is gonna look use photoshop or some similar program that lets you compare colors, you can paste there your color code from the xaml files, and look if it is the right choice, then simply switch in registry, but only if you are sure what you change
