Hard-SPL, or How to get that useful thingy on my device

Hi chaps,
I'm expecting a Diamond in the coming weeks; I've already got a Hard-SPL done and ready to test along with the SSPL, so once I've verified it works (and frankly, I don't see it failing) I'll release it for general consumption.

I'd just like to say I advise AGAINST using tom codon's Hard-SPL (unless you have a pressing need to flash) as it's not based on an MFG, the one I'm releasing of course, *is*

Hate to ask the noob question oli but what is the difference between the two i.e. mfg and non-mfg. Does mfg mean yours is based off of the manufacturer's spl??
thanks for enlightening me (if u see fit )

mfg has extra commands in the bootloader. these are not in shipped spl's i dont think. probably in the wiki somewhere. commands do thinks like hard reset, format the nand, and other stuff..

lol...btw, i live in canada and this phone has no warranty here or in US either.
it works flawlessly!, the buyer won't have any problems 100% guaranteed!
Besides, if I'm happy with a phone, anyone will be! ahahhah, im very picky when it comes to phones and technology, anything i own technological must be custom and awsome! XD

now that they are in stock it should be with some of you by now
1- what are your first impressions of the device.
2- how solid does the build quality seem? is it too plasticy? how solid is the sliding and tilting mechanism ?
3- how good (stablility, speed, software) of the stock rom. seems HTC has started putting some really nice ROM since they released the HD.
4- whos gonna be cooking for this phone. any famous chefs
5- is the speaker phone really a lot better than other phones?
6- any disappointing things about it?
7- can we safely say that there is no GPS lag issues like the ones found in other QC-based phones
8- where did you get the phone and how much did you pay for it

the June launch is for Verizon & Sprint USA...looks like it's available now in the UK! yippi

I really want this phone but have to wait till like July 22 or something like that for it to come to T-mobile USA But when someone gets this phone could they please tell how the video performance is, and also the quality of music being played through the speakers

I'm really excited about the Touch Pro2 coming to the US sooner than expected. I've had a Touch pro and Touch HD running at edge speeds for a while now. Finally I can get basically a Touch HD with full Qwerty board and 3G AT&T speed.
The Tg01 is exciting with a 1Ghz processor and 4.2" screen, but I've been missing out on 3G speed and a full qwerty for too long now.

^ agree bro, the TP2 is state of the art with 3G for us in the usa right NOW!
we can check out the TG01, Star, etc. when they come to us later...

Anyone got theirs delivered yet?

Have got mine today.Am sorry to say i cant find any radio on my mine i guess thier is none and yes it came with the HTC case check on htc website to what type.
The phone is just solid and brilliant.i cant wait to upgrade to win 6.5

you are the first one in xda to receive his tp2. dont feel shy share your experiance

It comes with a case in the retail box. It look like a leather pouch with a magnetic lock, the TP2 slide in from the side.

I know Paul at Modaco have made some progress in rooting the desire.
But is there any other dev or team that are working on cracking the desire?
Without root this section of xda feel a bit empty...

Please look up what rooting means before asking this as this seems like another 'root' post. There are already many of these types of posts around why post new?

I know it's selfish, but living under the Heathrow flightpath, I'm kind of enjoying it. I can hear the birds!

Same here - it's idyllic bliss in 'ampstead without a bloody plane every 2 minutes. This is what it must have been like in the 1930s! Selfish or not, long may it continue (though the prospect of nose to tail flights through the night as they deal with the backlog isn't so attractive).

The Dot View case is not on sale yet. Nobody is selling it.

Yes sir (ATT). Like yours, it's already in route. Gonna get to the shop early tomorrow with anticipation... And fingers crossed that we can unlock it at HTC Dev. Last two ATT HTC phones have been unlockable...Hopefully its just the Verizon that is locked down.

Glad to hear that! Service rep told me it would ship between the 28th and 4th of next month, i got a UPS tracking number about an hour later, its currently on its way i cant wait!!. Yea im hoping its not blocked from htcdev. but if it is, i dont think we need to worry much as it looks like alot of devs are buying the device and there is also s-off work being done as well. Firewater may possibly work but it has a different SoC so firewater will have to be adjusted for that. So I dont think we will be locked down very long if htcdev dont work
