(I am not responsible for any damage you might do to your device using this guide)
I tried flashing with the NoID tool several times, yet it always failed, or my Universal would not boot after the flash.
The regular T-Mobile update utility did work like a charm, and never failed on my. Thus I created a little tutorial on how to convert wrong ROMs to ROMs it will accept.
In this Example I will explain how to use an O2 XDA Exec ROM (and a different radio ROM) on a T-Mobile MDA Pro device
It's easiest to start with a clean directory to do all this as else it can get quite messy.
First, get the HTC64 Extended ROM Tool by Bal666 here:
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,100/func,fileinfo/id,196/
Next get an original ROM for your device, in my case I used the T-Mobile UK ROM as my device was english anyway.
For example, on the T-Mobile MDA Pro UK (or dutch) version, use "UNI_TMUK_11242_126_10002_Ship.exe" (find it yoursef)
Use WinRAR (http://www.rarlabs.com/) to unpack this file to a new directory called "Original", and unpack it again to a directory named "Converted".
The Original directory will be used to check things, and the Converted directory will be used to store all the roms that we have converted
Next we must find the ROMs we want to flash. I got "Xda_Exec_LaunchROM_v113139.exe" and Unpacked it in a directory named "O2", and "UNI_radio_1.08.00.rar" (from buzzdev.net) and unpacked it into "Radio Update".
First we must find out some things about our original ROMs. For each original ROM in the "Original" directory, follow the next steps:
- Open the HTC64 Extended ROM Tool
- Click Decode
- Open the ROM (.nbf file)
- Write down the values after "Operator Name" and "Language"
- Hit Cancel
Now we must modify the ROMs from the other distributions.
From the O2 directory we will use nk.nbf (OS) and ms_.nbf (Extended ROM), and from the Radio Update directory we will use radio_.nbf (Updated Radio ROM).
For each ROM you want to convert, follow the following steps:
- Open HTC64 Extended ROM Tool
- hit Decode
- Open the ROM
- In "Operator Name" and "Language" fill in what you wrote down earlier
- Hit Decode
- (on the begin screen) Hit Encode
- Open the .prj file you just created (same name as ROM, but with extensio .prj)
- Hit Encode
- if asked "Overwrite existing ROM", choose "Yes"
- if asked "Fat16 file is too large", choose "OK"
- When done, copy the over-written .nbf file from the directory you created it in (like O2 or Radio ROM) to the Converted directory. Choose to overwrite the existing file.
When all is done, run the ROMUpgradeUT.exe in the Converted directory, and follow the instructions.
If all goes well, you should have upgraded your ROM without having to CID-Unlock or use NoID tools that were originally made for another device
If before the actual upgrade your PC says it has found an unrecognized USB Device, close the RomUpgradeUT.exe with task manager (ctrl+alt+del), and reset your device (push the stylus in the hole at the backside). Then re-run the ROMUpgradeUT.exe
Credits go to iruja because he helped me find these tool
Let me know if it also worked on your device
EDIT: Stupid me, HTC64 Extended ROM Tool is by bal666
EDIT2: Note on "Unrecognized USB Device"
EDIT3: Added credits
Nice Job! Good, Clear and informative instructions.
he, leuke guide, die ken ik ergens van
Nice people like my way, this is the same way I test different roms for the wizard, without having to cid unlock the phone and loose warranty
Thank you "TheBlasphemer"
wow, I searched this forum for a few hours trying to understand how to install roms from other developers onto my Universal. It was driving me insane cause i kept on recieving country id errors. I found your post and was delighted to find how easy it really is to upgrade roms. Thank you for helping people like me who have no clue. Thanks, Thanks and More thanks. I also give shout outs to all others in this forum who take time to help others. XDA Developers is awesome! I'm surprised that developer sites dont link to xda developers for their customers. It would save them alot of time and money. Peace
Great Instructions
Many thanks for the great instructions.
I tried to flash my T-Mobile MDA Pro to the latest i-Mate rom and it became stuck in the Bootloader mode (I used the No-ID tool, and tried every type of reset). Fortunately this approach works, and I'm now the proud over of an much faster PDA.
Rom: 1.30.68 WWE 02/08/06
Radio: 1.09.00
Protocol: 42.42.P8
ExtRom: 1.30.153 WWE
The original T-Mobile Rom sucks compared to these i-Mate Roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42743
Excellent
Crystal clear instructions. worked like a charm once I found the Orange operator code is ORANG007. The "Orange" ROM on ftp appears to be a hash of 3 other versions as the operator names are QTEK001 and CDC__ something or other....
Thanks again for the excellent, no hassle upgrade method!
This procedure will be working on MDA Vario (QTek9100) ?
I have a QTEK 9000 that is in Spanish OS. There is no available downloadable shipping ROM so how do i get the values of Operator Name and Language? Are they in the registry=?
Tried this on my MDA pro NL which is stuck in boot screen, but no dice
I used however the init UK rom from T-mobile, not the NL which was my official one. I don't have a NL so I maybe if I use that one, it'll work, but Im afraid not
Viper, I also have a NL version and would like to upgrade my MDA...did you have any luck doing so or did you find the original dutch ROM?
(A stupid question: when I upgrade my rom, i assume that all my data is lost, right?)
Just wondering did you all upgrade your devices with the exe that came with the new ROM, or the one that comes from the phone vendor?
Kinda wondering should I use the one that comes with the QTek ROM, or should I use the one that came with the Dopod ROM (mine's a Dopod)
wow, how easy was that
the orange updater from the net (M5000_email.exe M5000) creates a temp directory called
\Local Settings\Temp\pft3CA.tmp\
run the orange updater program so it extracts the files, DONT CLOSE IT, leave it at the point where you make it update (don't hit next)
now follow the steps of the OP
simply decode your chosen rom, encode them with the correct info, then overwrite the roms in the temp directory with your required ones
then let the orange app install 'em for you!
took me 10 min to make my radio only to 1.09
hi guys
my MDA Pro dead, only show boot mode. i can't turn on my phone. i'm using all rom files. but no result. please help me how repar my phone. i'm use then solution no result. i can't change my phone lang. detect phone show only empty info. help me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
siemens man??
why that name, do you work for 'em?
hi guys
thank you for reply mail. all problem solved. now good working
thanks to Buzz
Thank you verry much i'm verry happy with the Qtek-ROM (radio of Dopod 900) instead of the T-mobile rom
And now I have MSN
Im going to upgrade my MDA PRO tonight using the instrutions in this thread, but which is the best ROM to update it to? i suppose i would like push mail and msn messenger/hotmail.
also is there a slightly more stable internet browser in the ROMS? my current IE is not very good, and opera has the habbit of coming up with a not enough storage memory in dll error!
XDA EXEC is dead
I received my xda exec two days ago. I've tried the ROM upgrade as described. ROMUpgradeUT went OK. When I cold boot my device I get two options - Press 0 to restore factory default Press X to exit. Neither have any effect and the exec seems to be dead. Can someone help out or suggest a fix please?
It's alive !!!
Managed to get the exec in boatloader mode, plugged in usb and reflashed it with an original O2 rom, which, thankfully revived it. I still would like to find out what went wrong with the original ROM upgrade and why it 'killed' the exec. I followed the instructions to the letter. My orignal pre-installed ROM was a 1.13.82 (11/30/05), Radio 1.04.02, XROM 1.13.188. I tried to upgrade to JASJAR ME 1.30.82 171 10900 WWE ship ROM, which effectively turned my exec into (I quote) 'a very expensive paperweight'. I now have got it working with an older O2 original ROM (ROM 1.13.48 (09/19/05), Radio 1.04.02, XROM 1.13.139). When I tried to flash I overwrote the 'original' (ROM 1.13.48 (09/19/05), Radio 1.04.02, XROM 1.13.139) with the modified ROM, RADIO and XROM files from the JASJAR version, I didn't replace any dll files. Could this be the problem or am I way off target? Can anyone spot were I messed up here. Tonight I will try with another JASJAR upgrade, now that I know I can safely reflash with an oringal O2 ROM.
anyone know where i can get ROMUpgradeUT.exe tool from?
It's have been released already the P535 english version... even sold on Ebay.... there's some good soul that would supply image of this ROM? so i can finally install in my chinese version?!!? thanks!
It seems ASUS has just posted it at their website... ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/IA/P535/V4315_WWE_MS00.rar
but I'm not sure is it an English ROM as no instruction yet. Pls try it with precaution!
Besides, you may need other tools to switch the location lock, but I don't know where to get it.
Cheers,
A_C
WWE == world wide english

Hey guys,
I've just picked up a french P535 while on holiday here in France. Has anyone tried flashing the WWE ROM to a non-English phone? I'm afeared of bricking my device, but my English is much better than my française, and it would be nice to have the device in English.
I've decided to just grab my cajones and go for it.
I've installed the 4.3.0 worldwide boot ROM firmware and that was happy, then downloaded the P525 cooked ROMs to get the ASUS language unlock utility, and ran that. It reported my country code as 420c (France) and proceded to unlock the device, so all should be well. I'm downloading the Malaysian WWE 4.3.15 firmware now, and will report back with how it goes once it's on the phone.
Wish me luck!
(for some reason I'm only getting 5kb/s off ASUS' ftp server, so could be 30 mins or so...)
Ok, update...
The WWE firmware won't apply using the ASUS autoupdater. I'm able to get into the bootloader flasher by holding Power-Record-Camera and hitting reset, but it complains about not finding ROMGalaxyII.nb0.
I understand that this is the decrypted version of the ROM update, but I don't know how to get that from the WWE firmware I have. Is anyone able to help me work this out?
Thanks in advance.
couldnt you use the p525romtool -d command as explained in the p525 rom cooking thread

No as apparently the ROM structure, however I've just found out you can flash the 535 roms using the 525 patched Autorun.exe, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379 for details if anyone is interested in upgrading their 535.
Did you try falshing with this patched autorun?
That's what I mean yeah, I have a P535 I bought in France, I've now got a WWE ROM on it after using the patched autorun. All it does is hand the ROM to the BIOS's bootloader flash program, bypassing the region check the official one does.
Allright I will try too.
I live in france but I have all my IT in english, plus I use qwerty KB.
Thanks for the heads up, I ll report soon.
Well, I did try the update and it worked. I don t think I would have found the trick of putting a galaxy.cap with the hacked autorun the bypass the langage check without you/pntzamaras.
Now I have the qwerty kb and consistent language on my device!
I hope they release a french ROM someday so I could sell it to fund my next purchase

Sorry but could you explain all the steps you followed to reach this successful upgrade?
Sure:
1) Download the sorg p525 cooked rom in the forum thread.
2)Download the p535 ROM.
3)Extract the p535 ROM and the p525 archive
4)Replace in the 535 ROM the autorun.exe by the one in the p525 archive.
5)Put the unlocklangID.exe utility in the same dir as the autorun you just overwrited.
6)Rename GalaxyII.cap to Galaxy.cap and put another copy of galaxyII.cap in the same folder (ie: instead of having just GalaxyII.cap you have the same file twice, named GALAXY.cap and GalaxyII.cap)
7)Put the 535 rom where you replaced the autorun on the SD card.
At this point you should have on your SD card the 2577 folder with autorun and unlocklangid.exe, and in the root, GalaxyII.cap and GALAXY.cap.
8)Insert Card and run the unlocklangdID utility.
9)Run the autorun, it should say the update is ok for your device, click file-update.
10)After you reset the flash utility appears and the device begins flashing, it takes around 5 min.
PERFECT !!!
Thanks you so much !!
hi, thanks so much for posting the solution.
on a side note, how long does it usually take for the P535 to connect to a WPA-PSK AES encrypted network?
it used to be fast before i changed to the WWE interface as per the instructions, but now the phone seems to be stuck in the authentication stage and will not be assigned an IP address by the router.
although when i turned off the wireless security, i was still able to connect to my unsecured network quickly.
Hi!
Some days ago I have bought an Asus P535.
The S.O.'s language is ITALIAN....well, I have understand how change it to WWE....however, I don't understand Which ROM I can use !
On the Asus's site, there are the only (newest) firmware that I have found:
V4.3.25 (ONLY for Hong Kong user) - 47mb
V4.3.25 (ONLY for Taiwan user) - 47mb
...where is an WWE rom ???
P.s.
I have also found a "P535 Phone Module Firmware V4.5.0 - 1mb"
...is for ALL LANGUAGE ???

yes.
I haven't upgraded the rom myself, but I have installed that phone firmware upgrade on an australian rom.
And no, I don't know where to get the australian rom - the shop installed it for me and refused to give me a copy.
I found:
P535_V4315_WWE_TH00.rar
and
V4315_WWE_MS00.rar
which one is the newest??
try using an ftp client.
an alternative ftp site, which has the same files:
ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/IA/P535
ok tnks....however,
which one is the newest??
Tnks again!
the one with the highest version number
That would be 4.3.15 for the wwe version.
There's a couple of roms with 4.3.35 version but those are for taiwan and hongkong.
I've seen someone mention that the russian (RU) version has some russian rubbish that you do not want/need, so I suggest you go for the thailand (TH) or malaysia (MS) version.
I have never tried to change rom myself, so I am afraid I am unable to help you if you run into trouble. But please post your results, I want to try it at some point.
so....
TH = Thailand
and
MS = Malesia
????
Both are in english/WWE ???
As I said, I have not done this upgrade myself.
Read the thread I linked to above. It should answer a few questions.
But as I understand it, both of these are WWE yes.

So far in this forum the ROM upgrade was academic.
Here is reality
My P535 is bricked!!
During Rom Update (following all the rules as posted) The process stopped.
It gets stuck on the start menu (Asus Screen).
The Hard reset does not work. ( Reset + Power button).
I can get to the bootloader screen (Power button + right mike(?) button+Reset)
and it just shows a screen with the waiting on.
Anyboby , can you help. Can I do hard reset another way?
It seems that ASUS offers the Rom Update if your ASUS P 535 is running and from the Mini sd card.
All the other Phone PDAs I had before (Qtek 100,s200, O2 atom, HP rw 6828. HTC (Dopod m700) P3300, HTC (Dopod D810) P3600 the bootloader did get the ROM Update file from the PC while in Activ Sync with the USB port. The bootloader in the ASUS products works differently. It does look for the usb connection but the ROM is in the miniSD. Am I doing something wrong?
Can someone point out the error of my ways?
Thanks in advance
I'm sorry to hear that. Very sorry.
I don't know if you did anything wrong. I also have an I-mate K-Jam (HTC Wizard) and it seems easy to recover from a failed upgrade on the wizard.
I haven't seen similar stories about the P535, so don't (yet) know a way to recover from a failed upgrade on the P535. But I will let you know if I find/read about a way to do it.
Maybe you could try contacting the author of the only "homebrew" ROM I know about - his webpage is here: http://norad.shacknet.nu/lifeforce/ and he has a feedback-form for bug reports. He is probably much more experienced with rom updates than I am, so it's worth a try.
(he has also posted an announement for his homebrew rom on xda-dev here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1235311)
I thought the hard reset combo was up+reset...
Maybe it only works if the OS is running - I don't know.
I had an idea:
I tried using the p525 rom tools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379) to extract "RomGalaxy.NB0" from GalaxyII.cap, and I managed to extract it:
C:\P525RomTool11>P525RomTool.exe -d GalaxyII.cap
ASUS P525 ROM Tool 1.1
Converting ... DONE, to ROMGalaxy.NB0
Click to collapse
But - I have read that the p525 rom tools don't work on p535 roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284379&page=7) - so I don't know if this NB0 file is useless/has the wrong checksum or whatever...
If you want you can try the rest of the procedure (I don't dare trying on my own phone):
- flash this NB0 file via the bootloader as it's described (in step 6) in the p525 thread I mentioned above:
Flash ROMGalaxy.NB0 via bootloader (copy it to SD card root, press "camera" fully, press reset).
Click to collapse
Maybe there's another button combo you have to press on the P535 - Maybe the one you use on your P535 to get into the bootloader - I don't know, I'm just guessing.
Maybe the NB0 file needs to have another name - ROMGalaxyII.NB0? I don't know this either.
I guess this wasn't much help... Let's hope someone more experienced than me can come up with something better...
I downloaded that homebrew rom I mentioned: http://norad.shacknet.nu/lifeforce/ today.
It comes with the following install procedure:
Flashing:
1. Disable USB ActiveSync.
2. Push Off button + rec. button + nav. up + reset 5sec.
3. connect the PDA to PC
4. Start AsusUpdateROM.cmd
Click to collapse
Which means it does not install from an SD card.
Try that one, see if it works.

I don't know if the russian rom has russian menu.
I've seen someone mention that it is mostly english with a few russian add-ons.
But I'm not sure - maybe asus russian website (if it exists) can tell you if the russian p535 has russian or english menus?

It is WWE with some russian add-on, but 99% of the ROM is in english. On the other hand, the device's extrom contains a language extender (in my case this is Hungarian), and it installs during the first booting process along with some network settings. I believe that the russian P535's has the same LENg (of course with russian language).

Hi Guys,
I purchased my P750 from Hong Kong and it came with chinese ROM.
Q1: I want to change it to english ROM, how can I do it?
Q2: I want to remove some asus applications that came with the original ROM, is that possible to remove them for good (I mean gone even after hard reset)?
Q3.0: I heard there is a cooked WM6.1 ENG ROM for P750, where can I download it?
Q3.1: Is it a pure WM6.1 ROM or it has all the asus applications built-in?
Q3.2: Is it stable?
Thanks,
Martin
can anyone help please?
Try here ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Mobile_Phone/P750/
You need a WWE (World Wide English) ROM.
there are 3 WWE files. what are the differences?
any instruction on how to change the ROM with the file?
any clues on my other questions?

Hi Martin,
Do you have the Hong Kong ROM? I have updated to Singapore Eng Rom but I want to revert back to repair as the GPS of my phone is not working.
Can you help me?
Thanks.
go to
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P750&SLanguage=en-en
- download the original Rom in your language.
- copy it to an empty micro Sd card (less than 2Gb).
Caution:
1. Do not interrupt the upgrade process and avoid touching keypad and screen when program running.
2. It is recommended to format SD card into FAT format.
3. Please make sure battery level is above 60% (I'd prefer 100%).
4. Please make sure to use SD card with capacity 2G or less.
5. Please make sure that there is no other folder named "2577".
6. If such folder exists, please rename it to a different name then change it back after upgrade.
Please follow below procedures:
1. Power in adapter (if not you can damage your device) do not disconect wall charger.
2. Unzip and copy all the files and folders (2577, AsusP750.cap, GPSFirmwareUpdate, PegasusP.cap, RadioFirmwareUpdate) into the root directory of a Micro-SD card(Non-SDHC).
3. Hard reset the device with SD card inserted with ROM files --> hold: record button, joystick up, power button up, and press reset. - Maybe better with an extra hand..
4. Let the program run (will take about 20 min) than follow the instructions on screen.
5. Done.

Turn the power off, remove the battery, wait a bit and put it together. After you will work.
WARNING: This is a release of Windows Mobile 6.5.5. Due to changes to os code, SOME older programs WILL NOT WORK. By this, I mean that an older program may execute as normal, but some of the menu options might not work due to the start button being moved to the bottom of the screen instead of the top like it was with WM6.5 and older. As far as I know, this is an os thing, so I CANNOT change this.
Merry Christmas everyone! Here's a Christmas present for ya, a new rom for the A626, A686, and A696. This rom uses the new WM6.5 interface. I was also able to finally figure out what was wrong with the config file for the registry package and fix it, so I am going to be including the registry editor from now on (unless public outcry warrants otherwise). For those of you who are waiting for a new rom with the old WM6.5 interface, I have been trying to find the latest build that doesn't have the new WM6.5 interface with it. The WM6.5 international roms are coming in the next day or two. College finals was a <sarcastic>fun</sarcastic> time for me, so I didn't have much time for rom building then, but I don't go back to college until some time around Martin Luther King Day (here in the US), so I should have plenty of time for finishing the international roms.
Thanks to Makuu (for helping to get me started), Lenny, AstainHellbring (thank you for all the nightly help sessions), the creators of the tools I used to make this rom, and anyone else that I failed to mention in name who gave me the knowledge to complete this rom.
Asus Mypal A6x6 WM6.5.5 version 5
Windows CE version 5.2.29007 (Build 29007.5.3.9)
This was tested on an Asus Mypal A626 (and works). It should work with the A686/A696, but the other models were not tested. Any other models NOT mentioned above WILL NOT WORK.
Updates

2. os build

At this time, this will be the only download link. Mirrors will be created in the future (after I give permission).
Instructions (I have included a txt file with same instructions for offline convenience)
Before you do anything, make sure you have at least a 256mb SD card and a card reader (you can get one at a place like Radio Shack or Office Depot). You also need to install winrar (found at http://www.win-rar.com/download.html). Your SD card must be formatted with the FAT16 file system.
To format your SD Card with the FAT16 file system
Step 1: To do this insert the SD Card into the reader and go to "My Computer".
Step 1a: BACKUP YOUR FILES before you start!!
Step 2: Right-click the drive letter of the SD Card reader (differs for each computer, probably either E:\ or F:\ or G:\) and click "Format".
Step 2a: Don't worry about any of the options except for file system, choose "FAT"
Step 3: Click "Start" and wait until it is done
Step 1: Get (OS) rom image
Step 2: Extract files to any folder on hard drive using Winrar
Step 3: Go to the folder where you extracted the files in the RAR archive
Step 4: Make sure that the filename is "CANNES_A_WM6.img"
Step 4a: if the img file it's not exactly "CANNES_A_WM6.img", rename it to that
Step 5: Format the SD card if you haven't already done so using the instructions above
Step 6: Copy the img file to the SD card, see step 6a
Step 6a: Make sure that the img file is the ONLY file on the SD card after formatting
Step 7: Take SD Card out of SD Card reader and put it in the a6x6
Step 8: Make sure that the a6x6 is plugged in via ac adapter before doing the next few steps
Step 9: activate SD Loader using the following instructions {
Step 9a: Hold down the power button and enter button (that's the button in the center of the d-pad)
Step 9b: Double tap the soft reset button while holding the other 2 buttons
Step 9c: After double tapping the soft reset button, keep the other 2 buttons held until a blue screen comes up that says something like Asus Cannes flashing utility
Step 9d: Wait until the process is finished (it's near the end when it says "writing private")
}
Step 10: At this point, your a6x6 should reboot on its own
Step 11: enjoy your updated rom
If you have any questions, feel free to just post or PM me.
As I release new roms, if you have a support question, please give me the rom version so I know what rom you are working with. You can get the rom version from the filename of the rom pack.
Example: Asus_A626_WM614_1
A626 = device (most often it will be A626, will rarely be different), WM614 = os version, 1 = release #

Speaking of the WM6.5 international roms, the list of languages asked for so far is as follows: German, French, Polish, Portugese, Hebrew
I will update this list as needed, but is there any languages I should add to the list? If so, please send it to me in a PM.
I finally have some international roms up for download. In addition, all talk about the international roms for the A6x6 are now confined to the respective WM6.1 and WM6.5 A6x6 rom threads. Thanks.

Steven,
First off, thank you for doing this with your spare time. I would hope that anyone who uses your hard work is very appreciative.
I would just like to ask if updating to 6.5 improves the functionality of the A626, and does it do anything for the horrible wifi reception of the device? Also, can you give us any insight into what updating does to improve any other aspects?
Thank you again for your hard work.
*edit*
I'm possibly getting an issue. When I get to step 9c, mine says:
Probing USB interface >>>
USB interface connected.
Waiting for download!
then it just seems to sit there, any thoughts? Or is it working without telling me?
**edit 2**
Solved my own problem, I would suggest not using a large SD card for this. I was using a 4gb, which is the largest FAT can use, and it was giving me issues. I switched to a 1gb and it seems to be going fine.

Are you asking that I make an Italian rom? As for the actual language, I don't really have much knowledge of Italian, but I could try Latin (I'm taking some Latin courses here in college).
hello thanks for the reply is in fact asking to translate your rom in Italian. but how does the tool you use? to do the translation should give it word for word? Latin unfortunately never studied it, however if it is really complicated and time I'll have a reason and I keep it in English. anyway great job you did.
thanks
thx
Thank you very much work great on my a696
It's a huge change from wm 6 to this rom my ppc Wake up to life
is there any hebrew Translation that well work on this rom
For those of you looking for non-English roms for the A626, A686, and A696, please see my update on the 2nd post of my WM6.5 international rom thread.
Comparing with WM6.1 this ROM is slower?
This ROM uses more RAM than 6.1?

The reason the WM6.5.x roms use more ram than WM6.1 roms is because of the eye candy that comes with Windows Mobile 6.5.x. I have tried my best to make it as fast as possible, although the eye candy can slow things down a little.
HELLO....I am new here...
Thank you for sharing.....
Hi Steven, I am having issues trying to make my A636 start into SD loader mode, how long should I have to hold Power+enter after I have pressed the reset button twice?
Oh also if I use the English rom will I be able to change my pda from Chinese to English?
I instaled the rom on Asus A696 and worked perfect. Thanks a lot!!
I hoped that the WM 6.5 will resolve the WiFi problem(the PDA doesent connect on wireless routers which run on "n" protocol for example the router is configured for b/g/n).

That's something I've noticed too with my Linksys E2000 router in my dorm room. I have a feeling that this is might be resolved when the 892.11n standard gets finalized (and really becomes standard).
There is any chance to run android on A696 ??
Hi Steven855,
i'm new in this field and i'd like to upgrade my a626 from windows 6 classic with your rom 6.5.5.
Now i've the Rom version V03.0720.00 DEU 0407.
Can i continue with you istruction in the first part of the topic with any problem? or better, can i do this upgrade from the actual version of my a626 even if it's in german?
I use the PDA to connect me with an external GPS. Is there any problem about your ROM and the bluetooth?
Grate job! thanks stefano
You can use the updated rom even though the firmware is German. Just follow the instructions as written. As for bluetooth, I haven't had any problems, so you should be fine.
