I have tried to reinstall the wm5 i downloaded from Tmobile website after installing the touchflo rom 4.01 but i keep getting error 260. please what can I do.? I need to send phone back to tmobile for warranty repair, it has stopped reading sim card.
you need to use the 'rom update utility' (included with cooked roms) even though it's the original rom, you need re-unlock the current rom (update spl and unlock carrier id), then flash

I have tried to install Orange new rom on my qtek 9000, but I get country id error. I have tried to use the "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" but i still get the country id error. I have also tried to install the new rom from the bootloader, but not with any luck...
Please help a newbie...
When you run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe did you try it straight away again.
I have found when using this tool i get the country id error but then i rerun the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and it then goes through
I have tried to use MaUpgradeUt_noID in the bootloader and when it's in windows. But when I have it in bootloader, windows wont make a serial connection....
I did waht you wrote, and it is updating now... thanks...
Hello,
yesterday i received my MDA Compact III from T-Mobile.
I remove the sim+CID Lock without any problems.
And then I wanted to flash an new rom.
I use the Artemis Update SPL method but now my Mda doesnt´start :-(
It stopps on the T-Mobile screen with the following Text :
IPL: 1.13.0001
SPL:1.13.0000
GSM:02.49.90

As I can see you didnt use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403.
Can you get in to the bootloader?
If you do then you can put an original rom back. If you don't then send it to the service.
An unlocked device is out of warranty so be prepared to pay for the service.
Go to wiki of Artemis there you can find the method to get in to the bootloader.
Goof luck! << you need that.
Yes I can get in to the Bootloader.
But no ACtive Sync Connection :-(
How can I flash the new rom without ActiveSync? Is it possible?
you have the original SPL so I can't say if it is possible.
I'm at the moment trying to make an rom for p3300 and til now all my rom's where bad and I had to use some official rom to get it back to normal.
I use P800w_SEA_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070713 rom to do that.
This is a wm6 rom but I always make sure that I have indeed have uspl/spl 1.1000 before any cooked rom.
Hi all,
I'm trying to put a new rom on the ATT tilt2 that comes out tomorrow, but whatever I do nothing seems to work. I ran the cab for hardSPL and everytime I try to update the rom the phone disconnects from USB. As soon as I get the status bar upgrade on the rom from hardspl on the phone and PC it freezes. Then it disconnects from WMC and I have to take the battery out. Am I doing something wrong?
Well, if you ran a cab for hardSPL you did something wrong and your phone isn't unlocked.

you can call ATT and get an unlock code then you can HSPL, or you can go here: and buy your unlock code and it will install HSPL at the same time

Exactly, you need to do something other than run a cab.

Alright, so I get the unlock code and run the installer for HSPL after the unlock?
EDIT: I already put the cab on the phone.

Dude, are you not reading? THERE IS NO CAB FOR HARDSPL! It is an application that you run from your PC that replaces your phones bootloader. Go to the thread that alwayslearning posted and buy their program, or go here and use that HSPL.
you do not have to have the phone unlocked to use hardSPL on it.unlocking the phone is only needed if you want to use it with another phone carrier
frustrationnnn...
I understand how you have to install the hard spl on the phone before flashing the rom, but I'm also having trouble installing the hard spl. I am trying to install the rhodium hard spl. it says that I should retry after syncing the device everytime I run the program on automatic flash. (meaning the program does not recognize the device?) but....when I check the windows mobile device center, it says it is connected.... stuck.
And after installing the hard spl, I should be able to flash the new rom onto the device right?

Having the exact same problem on Windows Vista 64 bit. I wish someone would come out and tell us a work around this one.

Exactly. Calling ATT to get the unlock code is for the SIM lock. HardSPL unlocks the SPL, which restricts the phone from being able to flash any non-ATT ROMs.
Totally different things.
Hi
I have an N7100 that was 'born' as a UK Vodafone device. Since then I've rooted and tried lots of different ROMs etc. I've now got a Note 4 on upgrade, and the Vodafone store said that my device wasn't locked (they said the status was neither locked or unlocked - maybe because I've rooted/Rom's it before?)
I'm now selling this to a friend who has an O2 sim.
If I download the stock N7100 O2 ROM from SamMobile and install via ODIN, will this work? As in, is there anything wrong with doing this?
He wants a stock ROM, but will root it for him anyway. I don't think he's interested in a 'custom' ROM even if it's just a stock ROM with the junk removed.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
O2 ROM will not do anything if phone is locked. Try his sim card in your current setup, if that doesn't work you need the phone unlocking, changing the ROM does nothing apart from load o2 junk on.
