hi
I am using windows mobile 6.1 on my asus p525 and want to change it to wm5.
I copied the cab file and autorun file.
when i run the file and click system/ROM Update it says, "cannot find the extended ROM partition".
how can i solve this problem?...
You cannot use the official method for restoring back to WM5.
You have to extract the nb0 file from the cap, then use the emergency flash mode to flash back to WM5. (Note: You need to flash 2 times in order to get the partition size correct)
how can I extract the cap file?
should I use vivi's P525 kitchen?
waiting...
wrong entry...
i tried something=)
i used the kitchen and it made 2 nb0 files. their names were rom.nb0 (37mb) and romfile.nb0 (41.5mb). i changed rom.nb0 to galaxy.nb0 then pushed camera record and reset. it installed windows mobile 5=)
is there anybody knows how to change the language?

Hi,
I made the mistake to buy JasJar in Italian and now I'm late for all upgrades. There's the possibility to change language into English?
Thanks
Stefano

I've tried
Hi, I've tried with WWE Rom but installing I get an error due the different language.
Thanks for help me.
By the way....

I'm unable
Hi I've done:
1. get the JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301
1a. get the exe from the zip file - if needed
1b. unzip the exe file to a directory
1c. place the enclosed file MaUpgradeUt_noID in the directory
1d. run the upgrade
At this time I recieve a message that says me:
ERROR 120: CONTRY ID ERROR
The ROM inage that you're trying to use is not designed to work on your device. Please check the vender Web site and download the correct ROM update.
What I can do?
Thanks
run again the
MaUpgradeUt_noID for the upgrade
I'm sorry to disturb you but I?m not able. I've tried to run MaUpgradeUt_noID but appear a message saying me that is not possible run the selected application as RUU.dll was not found.
I've copied MaUpgradeUt_noID in the same directory of the ROM file. Is that right??
Thanks and sorry.
May be the problem is:
1b. unzip the exe file to a directory
Is posible to unzip to a directory? I run the .exe file and I see that file decompress but I don't know where.
The problem is that I put MaUpgradeUt_noID in the .exe directory and due to that I have error message.
is there a program that unzip an exe file?
Thanks
Download winrar. Right click on the file and select "extract to...."
Can you please backup the content of the "windows" directory before upgrading? It should contain all the certified .mui files for the italian localization already signed and ready to work in the wm5 jasjar environment. Then put a zip file in the upload area of this forum. I would like to experiment a little bit with the italian localization.... 8)
I just performed the upgrade without any glitch.
Now I have the last english.ROM
Now the only problem is that special symbols on the keyboard are wrong.
I'm sure there is a registry hack that switches the keyboard back to my italian keyboard (I have an italian JasJar).
Do you know what key should I change and what value should I put there?
Thanks a lot,
Francesco
Was not possible to copy
Dear Topogigi,
Thanks for the suggestion about winrar. Now is OK.
I was not able to copy the windows directory as I get some error copying. Sorry.
Ciao
DONE!!!
Dear all, I got it!!! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
Now I've a small problem: Keyboard. Italian KB has differente layout than WWE. There's way to solve this problem? For example, @ is FN+Q and in WWE is FN+2...
Thanks for all!!
im using a tytn and getting errore message
dows the official upgrade is for tytn or doopod ?
anyone can help ??
i try using hard sspl and still .. same
I think it may be because it is a rom for Asian networks... I got a similar error, and will have to manually import the settings for my network providor... other than that, everything else went fine...
I believe there are cabs kicking about this forum to auto setup for various providors.. I think it is trying to auto detect your vendor, and if not Asian, is returning the error
I think thats all the error is showing...
If you've downloaded one of the other cooked ROMs on this site, you should have an exe file called RUU_wrapper.exe.
Now, install WINRAR and right click on the dopod rom and choose extract and it will extract various files, one of which will be another exe file. Extract this exe file again and you should end up with a file RUU_Signed.nbh - this is th only file you'll need out of the lot.
You can delete all the other files from the dopod ROM now, just keeping the RUU_signed.nbh. Copy the RUU_wrapper.exe file into the same folder and run it and you will flash the dopod rom to your phone nicely - just make sure you're HARDSPL first!
Now, you could be even smarter at this point and use dutty's good nbhtool if you like to "unwrap" RUU_signed file and remove the IPL \ SPL (though with HARDSPL, I'm not sure this is necessary) and the Radio part if you like (and the boot splash screens if you're so inclined and then use it to wrap it all back up again.
HTH,
Smiffy.
How it works exactly?
if upgrade WM6 Asus P535 wrong (cheksum error, update fail), we need one nb0 file for repair
we make nb0 file with this program (P535RomTool) and the file incluided in the upgrade (AsusP535.cap)
The command is C:/P535RomTool -d6 AsusP535.cap
and both files (the program P535RomTool, and the file, AsusP535.cap)is in C:
but answer is: can not open file destination
what´s wrong?
Thanks

is it for change rom???
i need to change from spanish to italian....
can u help me?
thanks
...and I need to change it from French to Spanish. The Spanish update provided by Asus doesnt work "in the device's version"
When I tried to flash my Asus P535 to other WM6 ROM, I encountered this error message: Boot: Checksum error, update fail. I tried many methods found in internet but still unable to get my P535 to start. Call ASUS and the technician told me that I might need to have the board replaced. I do not believe in that. Finally, I managed to get it working again. Below is how to do it.
Downgrade to WM5 using Life Force Rom
Use the Rom from Life Force and follow the procedure to flash your PDA to WM5. This will resolved your Boot: Checksum error issue.
http://rapidshare.com/files/72795150/USB.WinCE.V4.3.6.WWE.RU.rar.html
Upgrade to WM6
Extract and copy any WM6 Rom to your SD card.
Put the unlocklangID.exe utility in the same dir as the autorun. Rename GalaxyII.cap to Galaxy.cap and put another copy of galaxyII.cap in the same folder (ie: instead of having just GalaxyII.cap you have the same file twice, named GALAXY.cap and GalaxyII.cap)
At this point you should have on your SD card the 2577 folder with autorun and unlocklangid.exe, and in the root, GalaxyII.cap and GALAXY.cap.
Insert Card and run the unlocklangdID utility.
Run the autorun, it should say the update is ok for your device, click file-update.
After you reset the flash utility appears and the device begins flashing, it takes around 5 min.
Good Luck.
How To Flash P535 German
I tryed to change my asus p535 from german to english but it does not work!!!
Even after i used the language unlock it say i cannot change my p535 to another language
So did i do something wrong?
Can german asus p535 be changed yet or not?
how do i install/use an nbh file? i looked on the forum and cant find it. please someone either tell me or send me a link explaining how to use nbh files. my computer doesnt recognize the format. thanks.
I suppose you want to upgrade your pda or your phone.
You must use a bootloader to install the file and upgrade your pda. Many bootloaders exist.
For example, I've installed a new ROM with WM 6.1 (from Algasystems) on my iPAQ 4700 and I have used a bootloader that I have found in the thead about my pda (I think I've used MTTY). Than I suppose you can find yours in the thread where you have downloaded your ROM .
To flash .nbh files you need a custom.RUU (Rom Update Utility) .nbh fiels are only flashable to certain devices, i.e. HTC Kaiser, Tilt, TYTNII, etc.
Older devices flash with a variation of this. What is your device type?
