I've been having trouble with my 8525's camera software for a while. No matter what ROM I seem to use, I can't seem to get the software to use my memory card. It says that it detects the card, but when I tell it to use it, it ignores me and tries to use the internal memory. Is there a way to fix it or do you think something else is wrong?
(Current camera software: HTC Camera 4.0 Build 28276)
Under settings, if you have the network plugin, try unchecking show network folder, the you should be able to save to SD card.
*sighs* I guess that's the reason. I guess I'll just switch that on only when I need to than. Thanks.
Thanks Blackout...that's been driving me nuts for a long time

Hi,
I am using dopod 818pro. But whenever i use a 4gb(mainly kingstone SD memory card) memory card, it shows, "no memory card installed". But i can use 2gb memory card (any brand).
My config is as follows-
windows mobile 6.1 professional
processor- OMAP850-195MHz
memory- 50.02 mb
ROM version- 7.0.0.7 WWE
ROM DATE- 7/5/8
RADIO VERSION- 02.19.21
RAM size-64mb
So please help me to use 4 GB memory card.
SDHC
The HTC prophet doesn't support SDHC cards (over 2 Gig)!
i'm using non sdhc 4gb card from transcend. make sure your card is not sdhc...
oh yes, but you still need a driver
hey man, if you have a normal SD card with 4GB, it still will not just work ,you needed a driver of some sort, sorry, I had it, but changed my computer some months ago. Maybe someone else has it?
do you?? i just put the card in & my prophet recongnised it.
SD
I used to have MMC and I thought the disable power management would resolve my problem of getting my files disappearing from the card if the path 2 or more folders deep, but when I changed the card to a normal SD (2GB), I had the same problems happening sometimes (but not as frequently as before), but I'm getting another (harder) problem now. I'm saying harder because this seems to be very hard to track because it happens when it wants!!
sometimes the card works for several days without any issue, but sometimes I get a blank card. even though when I look at the status I see the used space and the free space, but when I open it with resco or file explorer it's just blank.
and I even got a worse problem (fortunately it happened only one time yet). since I set the ie and opera cash to the card, these programs created their temp folder on the card again, but everything else was totally erased! I used a recovery software to get my data back!!
as I said, it happened once, but the usual problem is I just see nothing on the card until I shut down, and boot my prophet again. and sometimes it doesn't work until I do this several times.
I think I've looked everywhere to find a solution for my problem, but I didn't find any real solution for it. I've tried several roms, several cards, always getting the same problem. I don't think it's a hardware issue because of its nature. I mean how could it be a hardware issue if the data disappears without even touching my phone? if there is a hardware issue I don't think the card would be recognized at all! or (at least) it won't be recognized after I move it (causing the weak or loose contacts - if any - to disconnect) however, I don't think it's true, because the contacts are clean and tight, and like all HTC devices, the SD slot is high quality.
if anyone can offer a real solution to my problem, then I'll say he/she is the one who enabled me get the full of my HTC Prophet!
So thank you in advance. whoever you are!
Greetings.
I have Sprint TP2. It's a stock install except I disabled touchflo3d and i'm using plain WinMo home screen.
Ever since yesterday I noticed that when I check my phone after its been in sleep mode for a few minutes there is a small popup window waiting for me on the home screen.
Title of that popup window is "Internal Error"
Body is a red X icon and text ":0"
If i press ok button that window goes away but then after a few minutes its back.
Rebooting the phone doesn't solve this.
How would i troubleshoot/solve this?
Have you installed any software that didn't come on the phone? If so, try uninstalling one by one to see if you find your troublesome app. If you have all stock software the best bet would be to hard reset. But be sure to backup all data (contact, text messages, etc) if you hard reset.
I have the same issue. mxxcon, did you ever determine root cause?
I'm getting the same thing on both of my Touch Pro 2's, one is with Verizon and the other is with U.S. Cellular, and it seems to have started for me tonight. It's not hurting anything that I can tell, just annoying. However, I'm not seeing it on my HTC Pure (AT&T), so it seems to be specific to the Touch Pro 2.
Edit-It looks like it might be related to the newest version of Google Maps, I wonder if leaving it running in the background is causing this?

I have the same issue on my ATT Fuze. It is definitely the goggle map application, I wonder if its cause i have it running on the SD card.
Anyone else having the problem?

Thanks for the idea.
ATT Tilt, WM6.1
I nominate for The 2010 Most Useless Error Message Award ":0" --> read: "I have no plonking clue." LOL!!!
Hard reset, install google maps 3.1 to SD, returns :0 on the first try.
(It -may- have even trashed my email and messaging - desktop icons stopped working - but not willing to re-re-re-re-reinstall to test that further.)
Just for fun, uninstall GM, install from CAB to SD and returns :0 simply on the **install**!!!!!!
Hard reset, changed install to main memory rather than SD, and it installed and ran perfectly on the first try. Several soft resets later it still runs like a bunny.
Actually GM is working better than previously. I used to get constant failures from GM to connect to the GPS in the phone ('not found' and such). I used to have to -first- turn on VisualGPSce, and -then- GM would find it immediately. GM is now aaallll grown up and can now do that aaallll by itself.
Have a day!

Well, basically as the title says. This's happened several times to me already. Say I'll turn my phone on (from standby) I'll get a popup error saying that the backup was unable to complete because no SD card was found. Next, the music application won't load the songs because those're all stored on the card. Same for Photos/Gallery. When I go to ES File Explorer, the 'sdcard' folder reports that it is empty.
There hasn't been a pattern that I discovered. This just happened now when I woke up (phone left charging overnight; Wi-Fi & Sync enabled) and I decided to come post here. Happened again yesterday afternoon when I got my phone out to play some music on the way home.
Every once in a while, I'd get lucky and the files would show up by themselves, but the only fool-proof way I've found to get the phone working properly again is a restart, which takes several minutes to do.
I am NOT running any task manager (well, I was but when this problem started up I checked another thread which recommended to remove the task manager, so I did).
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Do you know of a fix, or is it just me?
Mine's done this a couple of times, but I've put it down to the SD card not being quite pushed home properly. Worth taking it out and cleaning the contacts.
Nope, that doesn't work. I re-inserted it yesterday (contacts were clean) and this morning woke up with the same problem.
Please tell me this isn't just happening to me, cause it'll be a right pain in the ass to have this repaired (sending abroad/etc).
Is the SD Card the one you got with the phone (4Gb) or another make/model size? Please include details so others can help more.
I have left the given Samsung Class 2 4Gb SD card in mine and I have never had any issues with the SD Card unmounting. This is not saying it won't happen, but for me it has been fine. I was going to upgrade to my other Sandisk 16Gb Class 2 that used to be in my Touch Pro, but will do that hopefully this evening.
So all I can guess is either a faulty card or some issue with Class/Size/Manufacturer of Card (if you changed from the Samsung one) ?
It's the stock 4GB card that came pre-installed in the phone. Phone's unlocked too, bought from Clove. If it helps/is relevant: when I loaded up the camera it gave an error saying something like 'no sufficient read permissions for SD card'*, maybe that'd be a clue to the problem.
*I can't quote exactly cause I've since restarted the phone and can't remember it word for word. If/when this happens again I'll post the exact error.
EDIT: There, it just happened again. Restarted the phone not even an hour ago, it's getting ridiculous. Anyway, the error from the camera reads "Unable to save file to SD card due to insufficient file permissions".
FWIW, when I go to SD & Phone Storage settings i CAN see the total and available space on the card. It's just completely inaccessible by the programs. Have also tried the 'SDMount' widget, did absolutely nothing.
Happens to me too but only when I've been letting go of my phone to put it down rather than placing it down, or if I have to drop it on my bed or chair quick.
Happened to me a lot too when I was using one of the lock screen info apps, to get my calendar info on the lock screen. Uninstalled and the SD card problem went away.

Never used that :/
I've uninstalled all apps that seemingly access the SD card and will start reinstalling one by one to see if the problem does come back. Only way I could think of.
It is happening to me also. The last 3 days is doing it at least twice a day , i have the desire almost one month and neved had this problem earlier.
And i though it was something i did.
i had the same camera permissions problem. restarted and havnt seen it again since. 4gb card that came with the unbranded device. no idea what caused it, could be any number off new apps etc :S
I've got the same problem.
I've already tried to reformat my SDcard, but the problem still exists. Another problem when the SD card unmounts, is the CPU usage. This rises to ~10% constantly. Probably cause of this are apps which are trying to write to my SDcard.
Still no solution found, maybe I'll try another SD card in a couple of days.
FWIW, I gave up on the stock card and copied all my stuff over to another 4GB card I had running around (straight copy) and it seems to be working fine now. Haven't had a problem yet, although it hasn't even been 24 hours.
Will report back if/when something comes up, and when I start re-installing the apps that I previously removed.
I wrote to HTC earlier yesterday describing the same problem, and I just received this reply:
Dear Mr.Matthew Thank you for contacting HTC. Maybe you mount it on the pc to copy nd paste something and you forgot to unmount it from the pc.. Are you using the inbox SD card? Did you install any third party applications to the phone? Please use the phone in Safe Mode. Safe mode terminates all installed running applications, in case if they caused this issue. Please backup what you have on the SD Card and Format it. If you have any other inquiries, don’t hesitate to contact us again. Please note that you can contact us via support line. For further details, please go to http://www.htc.com/europe/CA_Hotline.aspx , Thank you so much for using HTC products. Respect & Regards, HTC Team http://www.htc.com

Only thing I have not yet tried is the Safe Mode. Will see if it needs to get to that.
i had this issue when I installed 'ebuddy'... uninstalled it and the problem is no more
It's started to occur on mine at least twice daily now, it wasn't so before about 4 days back. I've just actually restarted the device on getting such an error and apps complaining that they can't read/write to the SD card. Really after some sort of fix here.

You're right it seems that was my problem too.
I got rid off ebuddy and all is fine now
I've had this problem once so far, and reading the reply from HTC reminds me that I have unplugged my phone from my mac without unmounting it a few times...
I am also having this issue and have ebuddy installed! I shall uninstall it and see if it fixes it! I really hope it does because its starting to get annoying
I too have ebuddy installed and shall also try removing it and see if that fixes it!
I don't have ebuddy installed but just experienced the SD card error with the camera today.

Hi all,
I recently updated through the OTA update to Froyo 2.2 on a stock EVO 4g (not rooted or messed with at all). When I finished the update, I sent a couple apps to my SD card (like Where was one, forgot the rest, maybe Flikie wallpapers). After that, the SD card was somehow permanently corrupted, I couldn't even format it on the phone or through a card reader on a PC. Anyway, then I started noticing extreme slowdowns on my phone's Sense interface (even today after putting in a new card). For example, when I try to type a text message, I put like a few letters from the person's name and it takes a good 30 seconds to show the results as opposed to instantly. Also, when a call comes in, the number shows up for a few seconds until it recognizes the contact, etc. Could it be because without a working SD card, things were put on the phone and now the phone is full (even though now I have a new card in there)? Or does anyone know why else this could be and maybe offer a solution? Thanks, greatly appreciate any guidance.
Hi all, just as an update, I got a new SD card in there, factory reset the phone, and all was well. However, now, again, after a few days, when I open the SMS app, and type a name, I get nothing for like 10-15 seconds, then it starts processing my request and pulling the name I was looking for. Any idea what could be causing this? This is the only remaining problem I have after the factory reset and reinstall of everything basically.
Hello everyone,
I am contacting you because i have many issues with the blackview A7 pro phone, that i have bought a week ago.
Shortly after my purchase many of the problems arose that are closely tied with the phone software (or so I believe).
First thing that troubles me the most, is the problem that is associated with the use of the SD card storage, that cannot be used as a place to store apps from my phone, except when I format my SD card as a internal storage. And even when I format my SD card as internal storage, i cannot see the correct value or my new storage (in gigabytes) because the old value doesn't add up to the value or the formatted SD card. The only option that I can use is the root if I want to move apps to SD card (!!!!)
Other thing is that internal memory is always reporting that I have 10.7 gb of memory instead of 16 gb, and there is no mention of where could possibly those 5 GB has gone!
I cannot root my phone because if I do this i will lose my warranty, or in the worst case, my phone will be bricked and it wont be useful anymore.
And I cant find any available root/roms out there on the internet except from your company and I am using the latest one that is: A7Pro-Blackview-V0.12-20171031_000220
One of the most intolerable problem is also the problem with wifi. The situation here is that any possible wifi network that i connect my a7 pro phone to, suffers from great oscillation and network loss.
Even if i am just a room away from ANY ROUTER i will have problems with oscillation from excellent to poor in just 10 seconds.
The other problem is the camera with its awful and poor quality regardless of the settings or application that i am using. Also the insult to injury is the lack of panorama option in the phones camera application. Other google play software cannot do the panorama option so well.
One other more tolerable problem is the complete lack of "look and feel" of the phones software and the inability to change or add other wallpapers or themes except when using the other peoples software from somewhere else (google play or any other platform). The built-in launcher3 is so poorly defined and so poorly supported that users are forced to change look and feel because of the awful design of the current software.
Does anyone know how can I resolve at least two of my problems (SD card problem and WiFi problem)?
Can anybody help?
anyone, please ? any help is much appreciated
is it possibile that i am posting this in the wrong sub-forum?
About your question, the first is pretty normal, every android since 6.0 have option to apply a extra storage with sd with formatting it ( i want rembemeber you that android not allow install on sd card normally, if not via root), also about your actual storage space again is normal, some gb are for file system and recovery, variuos brand have his own reservated space, so it can be changed from phone to phone. Since january is aviable a custom TWRP that can be installated trough SP flash tool, check on google. And for your last question is possible that is just a bug, so try to format the system and/or update your phone if aviable. Extra, for customizing yuor phone change launcher. Hope that will help you or someone else, there's nothing wrong in this low budget phone, every your question are common for any adroid device.
