Hi;
First thing is hardware volume buttons increas and decrease the volume too much. Is there any workround for that?
Second i want to control the music while the devide is in my pocket. Can i reconfigure volume button behaviours such as; hold down the volume up button for next track... I am using mu own headphones therefore htc headphones are not an option for me.
Thank you.
I have already searched the forum but I could not found any solution however if there is alrady one please forgive me.
AE Button Plus let's you do those things.
Thank you phaelox AE Button does the job. I bind the volume button press and hold behaviour to the up and down arrow functions. Thanks alot.
Tweak request-
-Enabling the mute button on the back of the phone when you are on a BT headset or just using the handset so you don't have to mess with the screen.
-A step further: Allow you to remap the button during different situations.
Example-
While not on a call you could remap it to something like voice command or live search (or anything else you wanted)
I accidentally hit that button alot when talking with the phone held to my ear. Launching programs would be weird too as its on the back. I'm sure it can and will be done though.

I'm assuming that no one has come up with anything considering how old this thread is. I'm looking for the same exact thing. This would be great when using my hands-free car stereo that doesn't provide a mute button. Bump!
Either you guys haven't tried Rhodium Keyboard Controller yet, or that's not what you're looking for.
It lets you remap all hardware keys, including the mute button.
Hey,
During a screen repair I broke the volume rocker on my HD2 that is running Yuki/Xboxmod 7740.
I was wondering if anyone knows of or could program an app that allows you to control the sound settings through the software instead of by using the hardware keys.
I also know that you can remap the 5 keys at the bottom to where the first two control volume duties; that thread's link is dead however so I can't pull that software package.
Anyways, I figured this might be a useful app to have (if it can be programmed to be universal across all wp7 handsets, at least)
Thanks for reading!
I second this request. Just lost my volume up control and while calls seem to work fine, music volume is stuck at 0.
Search is your friend guys! "Device Volume" works very well...DevStore7 from memory
Sent from my HD7 using Board Express

The bundled earphones of Galaxy R has volume up/down buttons. The button worked with Galaxy S2. But when I connected it to my GN, it worked as Prev/Next Track.
Since it means that the hardware is recognising the signal, all I would have to to do is to modify the software so that pressing that button is recognised as 'volume up' instead of 'Prev'. I know there is a keyboard map in /system/usr/.... I tried to modify one but I did not know which one.
Can you tell me where I should modify?

Or it would be great if someone can just let me know earphones with volume controls that works with GN.
maybe /system/usr/keylayout/sec_jack.kl, and maybe AVRCP.kl, then /system/usr/keychars/ I don't know does those files need editing...
I know on my Ouku unit I had the option of mapping different functions to the same steering wheel button depending on if it was a long or short press. Is anything like that available on these?
I see when assigning steering wheel controls there are two little rectangles for each button and when you assign a button one of them lights up.
Possible?
Im interested at the same functionality, can someone confirm possiblity?
Hi,
Not all functions are available with both Short/Long action, and you set both Short/Long Press using single detection eg. select a command for Short and command for long one in each column.
For example you can't assign long function for VOL+/- but you can assign for VOL MUTE, MODE, HOME selections.
