Automatic Turn-on in Alarm - HTC Excalibur

Since Excalibur doesnt have this feature is there any programs that you can download and install to automatically turn on phone when the alarm turns on?!!?

Not that I know of... like what do you mean turn off the phone... you can set it to airplane mode and turn the whole phone service off from the comm manager and then turn it back on whenever you want...

no!! u know in a blackberry device!! when you turn it off at night then if you set your alarm for the morning and if the alarm turn on the phone will turn on???

that is good!

From what I know, if a Windows Mobile phone is off, then it is really off and no alarm can turn it on (unlike alot of the Nokia phones for example)

blackberry dont use windows and when you do that the phone dont turn off completly.

why turn off your phone @ night...
it's in standby, not a big drain on your battery at all...
if you find that turning it off at night helps with your battery life drastically, as opposed to leaving it on - you may need a new battery, not an alarm app...

Alarm disabled when phone is off

I noticed that the alarm does not sound when the phone is switched off. This is disappointing seeing as with every phone I have I usually use it as my alarm clock.
I could leave my phone on in sleep mode but don't want to drain the batteries. *Seeing as I'm having problems with the battery life*
Is this the same with you or is there a setting I need to enable for the phone to wake and the alarm to sound?
Or, is there another alarm app that will allow the phone to switch on when off?

This is not a phone, it's a pocket pc with phone function. Every other phone drains power when it's switched off -so it's nothing more than a standby.

Nope, no alarm can do this. If it's switched off it IS really off. There is absolutely no power usage and the only way to get it back on is manually by pressing the power button.

No big deal, use the "flight mode" for the night (long press endkey --> flightmode). Every data and phone connection will be switched off and the phone is only using the power for the clock and the alarm -it's nearly the same as a switched off common phone.

Then it may be possible to have a 'Wake on Alarm' function, similar to a PC.
Anyway, I downloaded G-Alarm and it does what you say, turn the phone on flight mode automatically.

[REQUEST] App to schedule phone on/off

Hi guys,
What I need is a app to turn off and turn on (without PIN code) my cell phone on specific time.
I mean, schedule my phone to turn off at 2am and turn on at 8am, this way I would save battery during night.
Some of you may say, why don't you turn it yourself? A: Cuz this way I would schedule my phone to turn on before I wake up, in case someone calls it would wake me up.. Or in case I forget to turn it off!

Use airplane mode, buddy. It's don't drain your battery, and there's a lot of apps to schedule it for example: Timeriffic.
Airplane mode turns off all radio connectivity, so if someone calls you it will act, like your devices is turned off.

it is technically impossible. Phone can't turn on by itself..even android hasn't the alarm auto wake like symbian..
I havent come across any way to do this, havent researched about it that deeply though.

And yeah, symbian is able to do that, sometimes my phone died during the night but it would have enough energy to start my alarm and then die again xD
Didn't knew that... And what if I set an alarm and my phone is shuted down, it wont ring?
I guess I'll try the one kmarci told.
Thx!
won't ring!

Alarms with the phone turned off

I know Android has never had this function on a phone, but is there a way to make an alarm sound when the phone is off? Something like an action programmed to turn the Gnex on and make the alarm sound... If my old phones could do it, why can't this one?

Immediately thought of this, but it's not compatible with the GN: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.nomoarpowah&hl=en
I've had brick phones that have that functionality.
If I under stand you...phone screen off, try tasker
Not just the screen... I mean the whole system off.

All the blackberry did when it turned the phone off is turn off all the radios and turn off the screen. and kill all apps except certain system apps. It really did not power off the phone, as if you left the blackberry in this state indefinitely it will eventually kill the battery. Its like a sleep mode. It really did not turn the system off.
For your phone you could use tasker that to create a task that turns off the screen, puts the phone in Airplane mode and kills all running apps to get the similar effect

I don't know about that. All nokia phones had the alarm go off with the phone completely off. You could even pull the battery out, put back in but not boot, and alarm went off properly.

It powered it off enough that I had a phone at 4% for an entire long weekend (ie killed it to the point it wouldn't power on to use anymore, and had forgot charger at work on the Friday) and it still got me up on Tuesday (and Monday :/). I didn't even actually realize the GN didn't do that as I normally plug mine in over night and leave it on.

You said you put the battery in and the Alarm goes off. Just because you did not push the power button does not mean the phones internal clock is still on pulling a small charge to keep the time, and produce a alarm event at a certain time.
Think of a desktop PC. Newer motherboards can actually turn on/off desktops at certain times even with it being completely off. Why? Because it has a small battery running the internal BIOS that can produce power events from an off state
Blackberry/Nokia probably implement this in different ways, but the fact remains their is something that stays on even when the phone is "off"
That's why as soon as you put the battery in for a blackberry the phone boots and takes forever to boot at that. But when you just turn it off with the power button and then turn it on, its back up running in seconds. The device is designed to always be on...even when it seems to be off.

How make the led light blink.....

every few seconds when the phone is in sleep mode? In the purpose to know that the phone is on?

Why do u need that ?
Are you afraid that your phone suddenly dead or can't wake up ?
Don't worry, I very happy when my phone is in deep sleep. And never worry that it is suddenly OFF.
My understanding, the LED is functioned as a reminder when there's a msg coming (from any kind of apps), or low battery, or charging, or fully charged.
Light manager also I can't find any function that you need.
Sent from the corner of this rounded earth.
it can be nice to have the led when the phone is in sleep mode
I also wanted this function in the next update most of the phones u hav a led function have their led lights blinkin always

Anyway to add power alarm to note 2

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5rBeZTwlB9SUURlR0hBS29NUGM
I pulled this from my Nuu mobile 1x and was curious to see if it would work on the note 2 with the right modifications. It turns your phone off and on at a time you pre selected and if you have your alarm clock on your phone will automatically turn on by itself and alarm will go off. Just trying to see if it would work or would the app have to be remade and settings be modified to make it work.
If it would work its got a few benifets your saving money on electric. You could charge the phone up until you go to bed then in the morning it would turn on. You wouldn't have to have phone on all night on the charger I'm not sure the actual cost in electric each month it would cost it keep a phone on the charger at night time turned on but you wouldn't have to worry about that anymore if your someone who uses your phone as a alarm clock.
