Where did you get this new one from, the one that DVH use on his latest release works fine. You meaning x button or task manager?
Actually, its the one that you posted in the PDACorner thread. Its version 2.0 build 31261.
I had to HR my phone and I had it in the top right hand corner on my title bar before, but now it wont show up.

Its under TaskManager settings, you have to go to Settings, System to locate TaskManager. Then enable show today option or something...
Ive soft reset about 10 times now and I have that checkmark enabled to show the quickmenu.
Hmm, well I went ahead and uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and it's now there.
Thanks for your speedy help guys.

Looks great, will give it a try (and your carbon theme) when i finish with all the family Christmas fun.
Hopefully i will get some free time soon to get stuck into themes myself. Need to send the wife and kid on holiday for any chance of that though!
lol metal thats funny. Well when you get the chance please report back what you liked and what you didn't like about the install instructions, theme functionality and anything else you think I could have done better.
best of luck with the family and happy holidays!!
Just had a quick (i mean quick as well) look at the ipod theme.
GREAT THEME
Just a couple of things for the install instructions that might help people new to WAD.
You may not hace a themes folder in Wisbar folder, just create one.
To get to seetings in point 1, touch and hold anywhere on the screen.
Can i confirm that to unlock you just slide left to right. It got me sweating a bit when i thought my phone was locked with no way to get in. Tapping the screen like a nutter
Just going to have a look at your other theme now.
Would these be easy enough to make as a landscape version as well?
great feedback!!!!! updated the install instructions in post 1 and in the download.
Iphone theme
Hi Mallman
greatlooking theme - I am very new to WAD2 it looks like its got an amazing amount to give to HD owners.
How can I change the links to my own programs ie tomtom etc want to keep the icons but keep getting an error, did I say I was NEW to this !!
cheers
Jon
JPW,
If you access the menu (tap and hold on screen) and select 'author mode'
After that, tap and hold over the icon you want to change and change the link it has to the program

exactly right, and actions assigned to icons, text or anything else are known as "scripts". added to FAQ by the way
Great work on this and other themes Mallman! A question though, it seemed that the 'lock' button just refers to a page with a lock on it, and this page in turn refers back to the starting page of the theme.
Is it possible to have this button actually lock your device? Because locking my device also locks my volume buttons because I got so anoyed with constantly changing volume while i carry the device around.
Thx again for the work you are putting into this!

it probably is. In fact if you are running S2U2 (which I am not and dont really like) you could link the red lock icon to S2u2 and eliminate that start page altogether. Let me go see what can be done using only windows locking function. I just dont like using third party locking programs. Seem to cause me more headache than anything for answering the phone lol.
ps. thanks for your kind words as well.
Yeah I don't like the third party locking either. And although you can lock the phone with the powerbutton for some reason i also want the option to use the default software lock.
When i have some time on my hands I will venture into WAD2 themes myself, I'm decent with designing and so far understand the things possible with WAD2 (quite alot!).
Also something you might want to include in your starting posts is that these themes are made for WWE roms. I'm running a Dutch rom myself so basicly not a single button works on installation, not that i mind because its quite easy to replace them with the 'dutch links'.

ok after much research, the only thing I can get to work without using a third party locking app is to lock the device my shutting the screen off. This serves the exact purpose you are referencing. What it doesn't do is require an unlock, just have to press the top power button to turn on. I really love this feature now and it keeps the door open for those who want to install the third party apps. I have delete the lock page now so version 1.3 will have this feature with the useless lock page deleted. thanks for the input
and for everyone's knowledge, You cant call the lock function of the phone with an executable file. Seems it is in a dll somewhere and i just dont feel like messing with all of that
In addition to this and the Carbon Fibre themes, because I moved all of the exe's from the Programs folder into sub folders such as Entertainment, System Tools, Productivity, then none of the start links work. However, if you go into Author mode, press and hold, then select Properties, you can change the script application/link and Bob is your Aunt's husband
Good work.

lmoa, bob...
yes that is correct. I will be releasing a new version of Carbon Fiber tonight with a new system sliding doc attached to the start button instead of the start menu. this eliminates the dependency on WA3. I have also removed the "locked" page because 2 new buttons appear on the slider which can lock/turn off your screen and soft reset. A new analog vs digital clock function has been installed which makes the clock act as the TF3D clock does when you slide your finger up or down (switching from analog to digital). But look for that tonight
Excellent. I have now managed to change the order of the pages Home > Contacts > Calendar > Weather > Apps > Home which means the most used pages are a single slide left or right from the front page.
You are right about putting things down on paper otherwise it turns into a nightmare trying to work out where you are. Several times I got caught in a loop and had to use the 'home' button to get back to the desktop.
Regards
Hi,
Very nice theme !!
Gloc, how do you can for that that tips Home > Contacts > Calendar > Weather > Apps > Home ?
Best regards

This is my first contribution here. Hope someone find it useful.
WHAT IS IT
It's a 18 buttons action screen for the Touch HD, in the following of some 12 buttons versions already available, but with some twists.
HOW DOES IT LOOK LIKE
See the attached screenshot.
HOW TO INSTALL
You'll need to have MortScript installed, you can get it here. Tests were made with version 4.2.
You may need .NET Compact Framework 3.5, but I'm not sure. Anyway installing it is a good idea, you can get it here.
After that, just download and install the attached CAB.
The installation follow the rules and everything should be installed properly independent of you ROM language.
All the files will go into their own folder: \Windows\ActionScreen.
HOW TO USE
You can just press the right selection key. There will be also a configuration icon in Programs.
As for what each icon does, I'll let it up to you to figure that out!
HOW TO CUSTOMIZE
To change the images you need to replace the installed .brn files. Search these forums for details.
To change the links (say you want to use iGO instead of Google Maps, for example) you'll need to edit the registry.
Open HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\APP_0-17. Each number corresponds to a button.
Change Path to point to your desired application.
If needed change Param to pass parameters to the application.
To translate you'll need to edit a registry key and a file.
To translate the right selection key text, open HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila and change the text in HomeRSKText to anything you like.
To translate the confirmation message before a restart, open the Restart.mscr file and change the text in the first two lines.
VERSION HISTORY
1.00 (20090228) - Initial release.
1.01 (20090302) - Doesn't stay in memory saving 92kb!
1.02 (20090306) - Better management of memory unload.
Added configuration tool to choose if you prefer to keep it in memory (faster loading time) or unload it (saves 92kb).
Added another possible state for WiFi off.
Have fun!
Wow! Thanks for sharing this wonderful app.

Not exactly the same thing. Button 15, will turn off the screen but 16 will put the HD in sleep mode.
I really don't know how to do a real shutdown (like a long press on the power button) but I'm open to sugestions...
Can this app be started with multiple configurations?
E.g. different hotkeys start different button menus?
How to configure that?
Or A button opens a sub menu by starting the app with another config?
Is there an editor for the button mapping?
Regards,
Yerry
Hello! I do not see how reaching the parameters? Solutions? how to prolong the exposure time of the program!
Sorry for my bad english

I just changed some of the original behaviour, graphics and number of buttons of the HTC Action Screen.
Some things like sub menus or the time it takes to close can't be changed.
OK!
THX for this very good application.
Nice application, well done.
Question: how best to stop it running so I can update the .brn file(s) ?

You can kill it with a task manager, but I was able to replace the files with Resco Explorer even with it in memory. You can also soft boot and replace the images before the first run.
Or, even better, add the following lines to the end of LaunchAction.mscr:
Code:
Sleep(10000)
Kill("HTCActionScreen.exe")
EDIT: This is in fact such a good idea that I've uploaded a new CAB with this change, see first post.
Thanks for helping me out so promptly, cheers. If you're unloading the app from memory does that mean a slight delay on each start-up ?
Would it be possible to revamp the background.brn and BG*.brn files so it's easier to adjust the icon order ? At the moment it's quite fiddly, with basic pic editing tools.

Sorry, but we're working with the limitations of the original HTC Action Screen application.
So useful!!! Thanks a lot for this nice app!
Do i need to uninstall the old version before installing the new version or i can just "upgrade" it?
One bug i found is that my wifi icon remain lighted up even after i click on it to turn it off.
Click wifi icon (become lighted up) -> Turning wifi on.
Click wifi icon (icon remain lighted up) -> turning wifi Off.
Hi all!
I'm trying to make a ROM mainly for myself based on tomme45i's kitchen. I've gone pretty far with it, and I'll maybe publish it if anyone interested.
BUT now I'm having some problems with the ROM.
1. I've played with the settings of the clock/battery display on the tray. On other ROMs if I tapped on the battery, it opened the Power Settings window. Here I can't manage it. Same problem, if the clock is shown instead of the battery. Also as you can see, the battery icon is placed a little too close to the edge. Any ideas where can I adjust it?
2. Start menu. Exactly my problem is that the icons are not highlighted, so if I'm using the jog wheel for scrolling, I can't see which icon is selected (for better explanation see screenshot).
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
S100200
One of them fixed
Okay, I've managed to fix the Start Menu issue, a file was missing.
But the battery/clock tap-thing is still a question.
it's getting worse
Okay. I've managed some things to work, but now nothing happens if I tap on the tray icons. Only the start menu and the X-button works...
Something went wrong, but I can't find it...
Can someone help me with these issues?
Getting closer.
Okay, tray icon problem solved, the HTC X-button 1.5 was the problem. I uninstalled it, now the icons work normally.
BUT:
I've tried HTC Task Manager 2.0 ripped from a Hermes ROM, and it doesn't work at all.
Any ideas,why?
I'm going through eye surgery and one of the things that I use quite a bit is the accessibility magnification.
In the latest versions of Android OS, there's some kind of floating thing that sticks to the sides of the screen and is almost constantly in the way of something I need to tab or whatever.
Loved it so much better when I had access to the button down at the bottom. I could just click it when I needed it.
So is there any way to put that back? I honestly did try to search but I don't think I'm using the correct search terms so I never found anything useful.

that shortcut is moveable but you are right, it can get in the way and is annoying.
Are you using 3 button navigation? In the accessability options under Acessability Shortcut, it says you need to use 3 button nav for it appear in the navigation bar.

Huh. I have a three button navigation running. I'll have to look at the settings and see what I'm missing. I don't suppose it makes any difference that this is a pixel 6 pro running the latest?

Yeah, I just checked the settings and it is definitely on and there is no indication or slider or anything that says to add it to the navigation bar.
First of all, I don't run the factory system image, I run GrapheneOS, which is a security minded distribution of google-free AOSP.
Looks like the option you're looking for is at the bottom of the accessibility menu, "Accessibility shortcuts". Go in there and select "Accessibility button", then "Location", and select "Navigation bar". That would do it for you, at least on Graphene. Hope it helps.
Oh you rock!!
What an odd place to put that choice. It's buired where I wouldn't think to look for it.
