HELP - Corruped file 270 error - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi!
I tried to cook Hermes WM6 ROM - when cooking was completed i got RUU_signed.nbh file - then I flashed it, upgrade went well till 100% and it was completed - but after restart it freezes on HTC boot screen! I'm unable to flash another ROM. RUUWrapper.exe shows error ''error [270] Update error image file is corrupted''. I flashed only OS ROM.
Maybe some one can help me out, because I can't find nothing on this forum about errror 270!
Thanks

Your ROM might be oversized. If I remember right, the cooked os.nb file cannot be more than 64MB.
Try putting your phone in boot loader and see if you can get back to your original OS. If that doesnt work, use the SD card method.
If you dont understand what I am talking about, then use search, follow the link in my signature.
Good luck!

In bootloader if a try to ugrade os - I get Corruped file 270 error - I have tried many ROMs error is the same. Phone tries to do upgrade but on 1% restarts.
I tried sd upgrade also but it checks sd card, shows loading and then 00068002 and returns to bootloader.

Got another sd card and everything is working now!
Tread closed!!!

First, are your sure its SIM/CID unlocked ? download WST 4.2.2 Tool and run the 'CID Action' button to verify the SIM/CID lock/unlock status of the phone.
Secondly, which is the Rom which you want to flash ? All the Roms include in them RomUpdateUtility (RUU),its a self executing application, which when run will flash the Rom automatically to the phone, you don't have to first store it on a Sdcard and then flash it to the phone. Sdcard method is only used if the phone is dead and doesn't boot up or gets stuck at the splash screen and OS(Windows) don't load up,or phone doesn't accept any Rom flash, its sort of a back up method, but its only possible if you have already backed up the present running rom on the sdcard .
If you have downloaded a Rom from somewhere, then it must be including in it the RUU application, the rom must be in a zipfile or Self Installer package,if its a zipfile, extract it to a folder on the desktop or any folder on any drive of the pc,hook up the phone with pc via usb cable and run the RUU application in the rom,it'll start to flash, let it complete,it'll reboot the phone on completion and phone will boot up to the new rom and working status.
BTW,which is the rom and from where did you downloaded this rom,is it meant for G3 Wizard cigular 8125 ?

Problem with flashrec and fastboot

Guessing this thread goes here if not im sorry.
I am trying to root my hero and found a guide that i should use "flashrec" to first backup and the install/flash "recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2" but when i try to back up i first got the error "Could not run command" tried again and got "image is invalid" and had hat error the last 20:ish times
But now when i try again i get the first error again.
And i have tried to restart phone an factory reset it and emptied the sd and so on but could not get it to work.
So i figure that i have to change tactic so i found another guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4257045&postcount=38
And it that guide they wanted me to use fastboot instead and i got as far as i should check if fast boot find my phone and it did without problem with (fastboot devices).
And the link in the guide to download recovery was broken so i figured i can use "recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2" so i ran the command "fastboot boot recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img" and only got "could not load file" or something like that.
And of some strange reason now when i try boot my .img i get "downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)"
So now after all this im starting to wonder if there is any safe way left to root the phone at all.
My phone is htc hero from swe updated with original "2.73.405.5" from htc and have never been rooted before.
Now i have even tryed the downgrade wethod with goldcard without result.
Same error both in flashrec and fastboot
Update to 2.73.405.5 via the WWE update from HTC's website and use this Flashrec 1.1.3 which works on that version
That was the one I had from the bigining but I can try again do I need goldcard then I have some other 2.73 now that I used goldcard to install or can I just flash with original.
Checked the rom im using now and it has the same checksum as the one on htc:s website "_HTC Hero_RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe"
So i have the latest from the htc site.
And flashrec dont work i get the "could not run command" some times and "image is invalid" some times and i have tryed the version of flashrec you recomended.
I have tried now and reinstall with "RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_1.76.405.1_R3_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver" and gold card cus i cant use the flashrec on my phone.
but then i get "checking main version : update faild" should:nt that work on goldcard?
It sounds like you didn't make the goldcard correctly. When a goldcard is in the phone, it is the 'Super CID', which should get rid of the Checking Main Version : Update Failed error message associated with downgrading.
I can only suggest you try again using a different microSD card, preferably the stock one that came with the phone, and follow the instructions exactly, making sure you reverse the digits correctly (if you do it manually). If you're not sure, use QMAT as mentioned in the guide.
Once the goldcard works, you should be able to downgrade no problem.
HTH
I have the stock card and did exactly as the guide with the qmat so it should be right.
And copied over rows in the sdcard as an removeble device witg write rights and the card works in computer as one guide said i should test.
Could u help me if i send u my id so i know the goldcars should be ok?
What is the best way of formatting the card before doing gold card is it format in htc or sd formatter?
in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=573866 it says i should downgrade to 2.73.405.5
"20. Use the Official HTC RUU to downgrade to 2.73.405.5 here ftp://..."
And i am already on that rom as original from htc when i upgraded this summer/fall.

RUU Error code 110

Hello,
I've had some strange issues with my phone lately, random reboots, hangs etc.
I was s-off by Alpharev and running Oxygen!
Trying to sort of this issues I wanted to reset the phone completely by installing the default RUU and start over again.
I downloaded all European RUUs as I didn't know which one to use. The problem is, I have tried them all now, but they all fail with error code 110. The code appears when copying the system files, at about 70 percent.
All I've got now is the silver HTC logo and some icons in each corner when I try to start it. I have lost both fastboot and recovery meny it seems.
Anyone have any suggestions? Hope I didn't f*** my phone completely!
Thanks in advance.

need to have the right ruu and then flash some nice tut on above links.
another way to do is to use PB99IMG file extracted from ruu (be sure you got the right one)
depend on the stock firmware was on device. U do need to remember.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22152187/How to Extract the ROM from an RUU.doc
hope this help
Use this.. and do a MD5 check with below for donwloaded file
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
MD5 14d740a8ec68bd8cc830ff7c0905df72
Coz I think you are flashing OTA files and not the full ROM.. Try above
I have downloaded and tried the Rom you suggested but still no luck. This are the numbers described in the updater: 2.29.405.5 to 2.29.405.2.
Now I got another error message at the end; Error 152 (rom error) Says it can't update the phone!
Any other suggestions?
As I've said, can't get into either fastboot or recovery!
After I disconnect the usb cable the white "fastboot" screen appear with the installation info:
Stops at (6) system - Fail-PU - Partition update fail!

I tried it just now with a formated sd-card. Same error.
Tried this as well:
so i got it to boot using this method
download the android sdk
then use cmd prompt on windows
type
cd\
cd\<your directory>\android\tools
fastboot oem boot
The phone then went into the white screen with the green htc logo, but nothing else happened! When I restarted the phone it went straight into the silver logo screen again...

Code:
fastboot oem eraseconfig

HTC One M8s propably bricked HELP GUYS

Hi,
i just got an HTC One M8s and i think its propably bricked. I don't know whats owner of that phone done here. Its Software status : Modified, Bootloader: Locked, and S-ON.
I can't turn on the phone, i just can go to bootloader option and cant access recovery bc its popably didn't exist anymore.
I was trying to flash RUU for my CID T-MOB009 but htc_fastboot says "data length is too large" and sometimes "remote:signature verify fail", and i was trying to unlock this bootloader with HTCDev, but when i clicked yes it looks like that(means 1st photo) and just reboot to fastboot in bootloader and it's still locked
Is there's a way to unbrick this phone ? I just spend like 4 hours of trying some tips but it doesn't work for it.
Some screens (remove spaces cause i can't post link before 10posts):

Yeah maybe there's a problem with the "Security warning" it shouldn't be there. What you can do is to reflash the RUU. But not with fastboot but from your sdcard.
Probably this is the firmware that you should use. I'm not sure though you can go one directory back and search for another one if that doesn't suit to you.
Now to flash it follow the steps
1) Download it and if you can check the md5sum so as to ensure it has downloaded correctly.
2) Rename it to 0PKVIMG.zip (note the first character is a zero and not a O
3) Take out the sdcard of your phone.
4) Insert it on your pc and format it to Fat32 or exfat.
5) Copy the above file into your sdcard.
6) Power off your phone and insert the sdcard
7) Go into the bootloader mode. It should automatically detect the firmware
8) When it asks you if you want to install choose "Yes"
9) Wait until it is done. It will flash multiple times the system partion. WAIT patiently
10) Hope that fixed it!
PS: When you enter fastboot you probably see some green letters. This means the hboot is searching for the software file i said above. If it finds it's ok. I had problems copying the file with windows though.

I couldn't get it that done on windows. Dunno what's going wrong. Hopefully i had a linux distro installed and i copied the file from there. Maybe you can do that.
If you haven't installed any linux then create a live cd and boot it up.

Okay so now its the trick. I have done copied that properly, bc it start to loading when i put sd card. I click yes for update, and its start to flashing. Some of first steps failed so it wasn't look good. It called ROM failed to flashed click POWER to restart, and when i clicked it phone goes off and now its propably close to hardbricked cause i cant turn on bootloader. When i take it to charger there is no battery on screen informating its already charging. Only LED is working when charging and sound on windows when plug it on and off. Any suggestions guys? I'am scared now
Similar situation
Hi,
I appear to be in a similar situation with my M8 that I tried to convert to GPE. Something went wrong and although the ROM booted, I kept getting told my data was corrupt or encrypted... Tried a few reboots, and refreshed but still got the same...
A thread on here suggested formatting one of the partitions from TWRP which just returned an error, since then the phone appears to be 'hard bricked'.
No display, no charging indication, not recognised in ADB, and I can't force boot into recovery or fast boot.
However, I do still get the notification sound when I plug it into my PC...
It appears in the Device Manager as Qualcomm Mass Storage Device, and Windows shows ~20 drives most of which are unformatted, a few of which seem to contain system info...
I was wondering, would it be possible to re-image the Device? Given that the PC recognises the partitions, would anyway know what -should- be on them?
Alternatively, can anyone provide an image of a stock drive, partitions etc which I could apply?
Apologies if this is nonsense, but I'd imagine the reason it can't boot is the Bootloader partition is 'missing' or corrupted.
The same may be true for your device Mikkal.
Thanks in advance,

No idea mate.. I can't turn on the phone so I can't check that..
For those who can't flash a RUU, unlock the bootloader install TWRP recovery, and install a custom ROM. Voila!

[Problem] Can't find RUU for this phone, don't know other ways to fix it

Hi all, a friend asked me for help after his phone shutted down during a flash, the phone seems to have no problem aside from the fact that when you charge it when it's turned off the charge animation freezes and the phone stop charging. This is really frustrating for him so I was trying to use the right RUU to bring it to stock completely.
The problem is: I found this ruu only in one place (https://ruu.lalleman.net) and seems to be corrupted, I downloaded many times, the MD5 matches but the file is corrupt anyway, tried with different archive managers (peazip and 7zip) both sais the archive isn't readable.
The exact name is: 0PKVIM[email protected]60201_20.05_018_F_release_479349_combined_signed
I found this is the correct one via commands in fastboot.
Already tried to contact the owner of the site here on xda, but pm seems to be broken?
please help.
yo udont open the ruu zip, you put it on an sd card, name it '0PKVIMG.zip' and then boot into the bootloader, where if it is the right one, it should begin to install
Already tried in that way, I said the zip is corrupted from the source. Doesn't work.

check the md 5 of the downloaded file, and then of the file when its on the sd card
your sd card might have some corruption going on

I had to delete a (second) partition off of my SD Card (one I had made a year or so ago) before the card zip method would work.
I have to unblock the bootloader? Because it's relocked right now.
BTW it sais:
CID Incorrect!
Update Fail!
Device halted due to Large Image update fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot.
I can't even do a hard reset from the settings of android, it halts at the bootlogo when it reboots. When I power it up again it's still like before.
CID incorrect implies you are trying to flash the wrong version for your phone.
