Hi all, I'm preparing multilanguage kitchen with os 19209, I inserted ITA and ENG, but need other language to insert, who want partecipate, select in oem\ folder all htm, all mui and insert all them into oem_lang_0xxx, and all sys\_lang_0xxx folders and port me into a big zip...
I nned German and French.
How it works???
simply...
no language into rom...
you have to select your preferred language before build rom, or make modifications, Tricks.... so you can flash your preferred language rom, or publish a lot of roms in different languages, only choicing them from a list and flashing langed_rom....
if someone want share proper lang, zip it as described belov in differents sub folders _OEM_LANG_04XX; autouodate_LANG_04XX ; ecc....
and send me in mp the zip link, I tonight maybe post the kitchen so urri up if want share!!

TO ADD NEW LANG:
or "extract lang from rom" button, or better:
go in your oem\ folder cut and copy other place OEM_LANG_04XX;
regoto in oem\, search for all muis:
cut them and insert into OEM_LANG_04XX;
regoto in oem\ search for all "htm" files, cut all them and place into OEM_LANG_04XX;
go into kitchen\LANGS\ folder, create a new folder called: "04XX" (like your lang code) into it create 2 subfolder: oem\ and sys\
into oem\ place OEM_LANG_04XX just copied oterwhere and inserted all muis and all htm files...
now go into sys\ folder of your rom, search for : "_LANG_" folders. select all, cut and paste into kitchen\LANGS\03XX\SYS\ folder and paste all **_LANG_04** jutc cutted from your kitchen, you have created new LANG For multilanguage kitchen...
then you execute it, now, just select in downàleft corner of the kitchen the pereferred lang... wait that it will be copied into kitchen and then go to modify or build new langed rom!!!!

you can build more packages with same content but different langs inside, when you build rom, you can choice it in preferred language into kitchen! only have to edit "option.xml" into them and add here:

P.S.: OEM Muis are from *Cruise" device try to build trinity rom in Portuguese, and if somethings doesn't works, I have to separate \oem muis for device!

you can also insert "MMS_5_LANG_0409" folder into langs\0409\sys\ folder, so it automatically will be loaded at Eng. rom loading!
the tricks for packages, as you can see are a lot, only have to use your mind....
P.S.: Maybe \OEM muis for non trinity device will be unusuable... so is better if for now only trinity langs post, if other devices "\OEM" muis will be unusuable I'll separate muis in \oem for specific device!

I'm downloading right now. I have never tried to do anything like this before - so I would like to ask a few questions in order to understand what is happening.
1. I'm from Denmark, as far as I know there is no Danish 6.1 ROM, could I use a WM5 ROM?
2. Do you know of a ROM I could use to extract the Danish lanquage files from?

someone told me in private that have problem with sms...
try in other lang rom and check the sms send and receive , if works well, or if the program need other upgrades!
P.S.: Multilang kitchen is based on my own rom project, maybe with clean htc different languages roms works better, but I hadn't it...

Thanks for the offering, but I'm mostly fighting with the configuration of that ROM. The translation was the easy part, cos I was able to use things from existing German ROMs...

That’s the problem...
I don’t have a Hermes, so I cannot try it myself.
Bad thing is that I cannot guaranty that the ROMs I need tested would not brick a device.
I do my best, but no one is perfect and it is easy to brick a Hermes
asukal is testing the ROMs for me... he is a really good friend and I'm sure we will find a solution in case of bricking his device.
BTW, he will test the beta too... so it should not brick your devices

no, sorry... I can only make a German rom at the moment
1) If you substitute some files, reg values etc.. why you have to rebuild the Os and don't make a cab file installer??
2) Can you add to the first post ALL the registry keys changed & all the files substituted (and other things done)?
..also i want to start an italian translation project... but for now i'm searching spellcheck & words dictionary... and fixing keyboard issues..

the cab would be to big... about 6MB... also I think that it is better to have a clean rom

you should try my package tool
use it to build packages of your rom and you will see that there are localized packages like: Base_Lang_0409
all files inside this localized packages should be replaced
Bepe's tool is great, give it a try.

What is the basic for your german rom? Auf welcher ROM-Variante basiert dein ROM?
I would prefer WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition (WM6 Pro Style).

Hi, i´m very disapointed at this moment because can get a working ROM translation of WM6.1 build 19199.
To begín step by step the first thing i want is change folders names like Startup o Program files. I made changes in initFlashFiles.dat, and default.hv. but the ROM don´t boot. WHY????
What are the files i need to edit just to change folders names?.
PD: I already checked initflashfiles.dat is unicode file and remove the first two bytes, that´s not the problem.
Please HELP ME!!! i don´t know if there´s something i miss to do.
I´m very interested for doing this ROM because there isn´t any WM6.1 Spanish ROM for trinity.

why you work on .hv files when you have the bepe's kitchen and all rgus you want, only have to compare the rgu from 6.1 with an original corresponding spanish wm 6.0 rgu.....
for muis, you have to translate into sys folder:
base_lang muis, browsing muis and all muis into ***_lang___ folders into sys
to do it, try with restorator 2007 (shareware)
in menus, dialogs and strings, compare them step by step with original spanish mui, with the wm 6.1 WWE, and overwrite the originals with the wwe, you now have double menus id into one, if there are corresponding in spanish and english, check if there are same voices inside, and delete the wwe, if not (if there is only the wwe) you have to translate it, in some hours of work, and if partecipate more than only a person, you can have all muis, all rgu and iniflashfiles.dat translated in spanish...
also for initflashfiles.dat and oemapps you can check them with original spanish 6.0....
I translated into italian, so you can tranlsate into spanish, or german or in every language you want.
Be not discouraged champion... to my this is escaped from my short brain, I don't also have little idea of English, but for what is here you have me
Ok. I axl have the same problem. I can make roms with old kitchen but I am unable to make then with bepe's & ervius. I don't know where I miss something but resulting roms don't boot.
We can try to put in common our researches, so if we are stopped at diferent points we can finish it up.
- I am using as a base rom FAMAN's 4.00 (for me the best spanish rom). I extract XIP from this rom.
- Then I take master bepe's WM6.1. I process it with buildos+package_tools-2.7.exe.
- Edit initflash.dat and check .hv's
- Build with buildos...
Rom doesn't boot at all.

I found a solution, and get a working ROM...
Is not the kitchen i use all of then, I think is the shellres.dll.xxxx.mui, i have modified it with restorator, i added the missing resources in my spanish mui, from the original working one. After this i delete the shellres.dll.xxxx.mui folder, and place the mui into the dump folder.
After this and after translate the registry and initflashfiles.dat into my language, and change all muis to my country code, the ROM finally boot.
Thanks Ervius and everybody for helping me so much... i have learn so much from all cookers in this forum.
Soon we will release WM6.0 and WM6.1 Spanish ROMS, stay tuned WM6.0 versión is close to finish.

Maibe my partner and collaborator Nikitto, will realease a WM6.0 ROM in a couple of days, this ROM is going to be published here too...

Hi all, i´m close to finish spanish translation, but i have some problems.
1- MMS doesn´t appear in messaging, and Send MMS command in contacts options doesn´t work. What are the files related with this?, any mui?. I haven´t touch anything in registry but changed xxx_409 files to xxx_C0A to get files working with my language code.
2- Network Wizard or any cab for setting operator internet settings (GPRS Settings and WAP Settings) doesn´t work, it raise me a "database Error". What are the files related with this?, any mui?.
I know all these errors are caused by me in the process of translation, so in WWE original version these things works. Please Help me to find where is the mistake.
If i fix this two errors, i will be able to release a beta versión of my spanish WM6.1 ROM.

There are not packages, these features are included into the base ROM i`m triying to translate, i can´t separate into packages.
I´m working directy on the dump directory of the ROM, it must be some file i replace with translated one, or any reference in registry.

I am unable to make a bootabe of 6.1 . I made quite a lot from 6 with Faman, but I miss something in this one.
1.- Did you check inside the mui's to see if here is any reference to 0409?.
2.- There was a problem with the network wizard, check if operators.txt has first line null.

I have tried several official rom and I would like to know on how to I release the ULDR as Bepe had mentioned in his rom thread on the official roms.
i have just learn cooking and have managed to alter offical roms to my likings. but the storage space is just not enough on the official roms, even after cooking.
thus, can any kind chefs share with me on how to release more storage while cooking. I believe this would be relatively useful for all newbie cookers.

i am using the diamond kitchen posted in this forum.
kind of straight forward, like pressing 1 or 2 to cook or rebuild roms
You have to break it into steps, and stop after XIP merge with OS (just before buildOS)
This is where you can add, remove anything. Packages, etc.
i have managed to cook up a good storage space rom with the advice from the seniors here as well as the wikis.
but now i have another problem.
i have managed to turn one of the latest official WWE rom into Sim. Chinese. although, i have replaced all the wince.nls in the WWE rom to the asian WWE, but after cooking and flashing, it does not shows the chinese regions.
i have tried several ways but still couldnt find a way to solve this.
for replacing wince.nls in roms, is there areas which i need to look at, or files i need to replace?
btw, the cook WWE rom is entirely in chinese now on my device, the only left unsolve is the wince.nls.
one side track question, how do i disable error reporting? every now and then i received a pop up screen saying that certain task has caused an error ...
can anyone kindly help?
Ruff, if ever there's anything you don't know how to do with tools, just do it on your handset, dump and rebuild the rom. As simple as that.
So just disable the error rep and happy dumping.

i have replace the default.hv and user.hv with the one found in the CHT officlal rom but still, my Cooked WWE rom is still unable to initialise the asian wince.nls ...
what am i missing here?

i just found out why the wince.nls is not used correctly.
after replacing the os.nb in the ROM\ folder with the os.nb from the offical chs rom, it works.
although, i dun understand why but it works now. chinese region is selectable.
i also found that the temp\dump_XIP is practically useless, as the kitchen build os without using it at all ...
guess i still need to figure out more stuff manually and stop using the CMD script. it may be the CMD scripts that is set to extract xip from os.nb when cooking rom. thus, rendering the dump_xip not being used.

hi smogdragon,
i believe you already have a kitchen at hand.
if so, you will need to find a italian rom first and dump the rom. after which, save the dump. then find the WWE rom which you like and wish to change it to italian. dump the WWE rom and replace all the 0409 packages and files to your italian packages and files which you have dump earlier.
cook the rom and flash.
finally, i have everything working out nicely.
ram available after first boot is still not as much as the senior cookers here.
i have 2 requests and hope that some kind soul or seniors can help me with:
1) Can anyone release to me the correct backward compatible netcf3.5 for rom cooking?
2) Can anyone release to me the 20270 XIP and teach me how to port it to my cook rom?

I see Nothing is changed. DO you replace all the files by hand ? Or have some kind of automated procedure ? The problem for me is I've not seen any .93 build in italian yet so I don't know where to find the files without messing the build.

I see Nothing is changed. DO you replace all the files by hand ? Or have some kind of automated procedure ? The problem for me is I've not seen any .93 build in italian yet so I don't know where to find the files without messing the build.

u dun really need the exact build for the italians mui files.
just find an available italian rom and extract all the mui files out.
in english rom, replace those 0409 folders and files with your MUI files by HAND. hehe, no pain no gain ...
do more reading on the forum. i am no expert. like you, i am also a newbie/noob in rom cooking. just trial and error. i too need guidance from the expert but in the meantime, when they are not responding, you have to DIY...

Hi,
I'm trying to cook my own rom to convert the official Russian rom into english.
I've a quick question about the replacing the 0409 folder.
I'm going to be going from 0419 folders (russian) to 0409 (english), do I delete the 0419 directories and just add in the 0409 ones, or do I have to delete the 0419 folders and then rename the 0409 to 0419.
I'm guessing just delete the 0419 ones and stick in the 0409 instead, but want to make sure.
Is there anything else I need to do. I guess I'm looking for all the 0419 folders in the \OEM and \SYS directories?
Does anyone know if this will get around the region lock on a Russian Diamond?
Plus is there anything else I will need to do?
Do I have to do anything with XIP, that's something I'm really not sure about?

One thing is that you have to include version used with each mui
like HTC.Album.1.0.1030.720 or every mui with responding dll or exe file
like sys muis from 19212 dont work on new sys 20755 so you have to mix SYS files

mui files are all over the SYS and OEM folders... you neeed to catch them all.... in fact all the EXT pkgs needs a MUI but not all apps
Check the chef central repository thread with all the langs you want for SYS
