I updated my phone to 6.1, got all my setings figured out - aka internet and the ability to send pic mail - the issue though is that for some reason my phone wont let me send any pictures higher than 100kb. Ive checked the options and its largest one I can choose. Has anyone found a solution to this?
-- Also Hi XDA been lurking for awhile figured it was time to actually say hello
before you get bombed for not searching(thereis a couple threads with this isuue covered)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSC Setting\UI
change recvlimit1-3 to 307200
and sendlimit1-5 to 307200
then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSC Setting\default
Once in here, go to WAP1SendDefaultSize and change the value to 307200. Do the same for WAP2SendDefaultSize and WAP1recvdefault as well
this will have you rollin
Oh thanks much, I took a quick look through but i couldnt find it thanks again

i found it a little sooner than they listed in the orginal post.
where it says mm1 i just went to ui. havent tested it yet tho
i didnt use the connection wizard. i entered the MMS and the rest manually. I found that i dont need to call T-mobile if i enter them manually.
Maybe thats why i dont have them.

Check this out.....
thanks for the quick response! I appreciate that!
If you click on start more apps....browse through your apps and you will see that you have a reg editor.
even better thank you guys so much!
Now I seem to be having another problem. I followed the tmobile configuration for the MMS and i go to send/recieve (after I tried to already send a MMS), and I get "error synchronizing" at the top of the window. any thoughts?
ive had that error in every rom ive ever had. mms works fine though
it just seems to sit in my outbox and doesnt send... very weird.
did you use the connection wizard?
connection wizzrard? Im not sure. I don't recall. I just configured it off of somones signature for the tmobile mms configuration.
If i was you, I would follow these steps....

Rogers Canada MMS/SMS/GPRS Settings?
Hi sorry if I sound like a real newbie but I am. I have only used a Blackberry for the last 5 years and nothing else.
I currently have a Blackberry on Rogers in Canada, and will be getting my Dash tomorrow, I will unlock it with imei-check, what else do I need to do in order to have it work like my blackberry, I get my email from a couple pop accounts and my work outlook which does support owa web mail. right now I sync my calendar and contacts with desktop manager.
Is it worth installing BB Connect and just get my emails like on my blackberry or is it better it use the Dash email tools? when using the Dash can I change my reply to address depending on the email account I recieved the email in?
How do I find my rogers settings for MMS/SMS/GPRS??
Thanks for any help! This forum is awesome!

You should be able to point your ActiveSync server to your OWA server at work. Generally that works just like your BBerry if you enable Push Email (under the comm manager on your dash).
Thanks I tried that, but it won't let me sync to the owa server for some reason, most likely my it guys have blocked it.
I installed BB Connect and it wirks for receiving but I can not send it is greyed out.

It appears the problem was with my SIM card the whole time. I can't receive MMS on any phone, Rogers branded or not. Once I put my wife's SIM int he phone, the normal settings I've been trying worked perfectly the first time.
GPRS usage monitor that works?
Can someone tell of any GPRS usage monitor programs that work on the Excalibur?
Never mind.
I found out that Efficasoft makes a special version for the DASh and some other phones here:

efficasoft
smartphone gprs traffic monitor
ver. 3.51w
I'vwe noticed that even when not having anything coming in, the counter slowly creeps up.
Never mind.
I was reading it wrong. I've only used 1.74Kb.
The other figure was the projected month usage at the current rate.

I upgraded to the Rogers wm6 ROM which I grabbed from the rogers website the other day and all was very well until I realized I couldn't browse the web or send/receive MMS. I set everything accordingly to this link: LINK
When I click send/receive on MMS it says "Error Synchronizing" up top and in IE i get "ERROR: The remote party has ended this connection"
I have done everything in my power to fixing this and this is my last resort.
Thanks
just to clairify, are you trying to use this Rom on Tmobile? and if so, with or without T-Zones internet hack?
yes on tmobile and I dont need the net hack for i have the $20 data plan
the link you are following is for the proxy. Here is what I use (this will set up picture messaging too),
Code:
Go to Start > Settings > Connections > GPRS
Create these GPRS profiles:
T-Mobile MMS
Connects to: WAP network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
T-Mobile Data
Connects to: The Internet
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
PictureMessaging
Connects to: The Internet
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
Delete any profile that is not one you just entered!
Now go to Start > Messaging
Scroll to MMS, while MMS is selected press Menu > Settings > Menu > MMSC Settings
Delete anything in here, then create new profile "PictureMessaging" with following:
Name: PictureMessaging
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
wap gateway: 216.155.165.50
port: 8080
connect via: wap network
max sending size: 300k
wap version: wap 2.0
Go to Start>Settings>Regional Settings and change the language and locale to US English and change the date and time format to your preference
Go to Start>Settings>GPRS Authentication and verify it is set to PAP
thanks for taking the time and writing that out but it's still not connecting.
i have everything (internet, work, wap connections) set to automatic.
with those setting mine works flawlessly. Wish I had a better answer for you.

yeah i did, awamzing thing though...today at work it started working. I guess it takes a few days for everthing to start communicating. Thanks for all the help everyone.
I asked this n another thread, but no joy.
I installed the latest Kavana ROM, works GREAT. Thanks for that.
But, some questions.
I'd like to understand how all the networks and proxy things work.
I understand how proxy servers work for the PC world, but I don't understand all the various connections and proxies on the smartphone.
I'm on T-mobile, and I used the connection wizard. But then MMS and SMS weren't working quite right, so I applied some other settings from some other posts and right now, it all (IE, SMS, MMS) seems to work.
But, I am not at all confident I could reproduce this if I had to flatten the device again. Is there something I can read to understand the relative significance of all the various named networks: "work" "TMobile MMS" "Tmobile Data" "WAP Network" "Secure WAP Network" and "The Internet" and also the various proxies that route to these various networks?
Do I really need all the connections - I have like 7 of them.
The new-inet:1118 proxy - what is that for?
That hostname, is it really meaningful?
I also have a new-corp:1159 proxy,
with a name of HTTP:{3F31657F... (etc etc guid)}
What is THAT thing for?
I'd feel better if I understood all these settings, when and why I need a proxy. etc etc . thanks for pointers.
Anyone know?
Anyone know the answer to this? anyone have any clues to offer me?
I'm also having trouble w/ the MMS after installing Ricky's ROM. Are you able to pull the MMS settings from your phone and share? Otherwise, does anyone else know all of the settings?

These cryptic settings come from active sync. I see them if I allow my DASH to sync with my office Windows XP machine with networking enabled. and my office trys to use the network my Dash is on. Once these entries are created, I can not use my t-mo net connection (cheap version). But it is all fine, once I delete these unknown entries.
My MMS Settings
Here's what I did to get MMS to work, in and out.
I am using Kavana 1.33 ROM.
1. set up 2 connections:
Start...Settings....Connections....GPRS
Now, either add a New item, or edit an existing one.
Description: T-Mo Web or T-Mo Data or something else similarly descriptive
Connects to: The Internet
Access point: internet2.voicestream.com
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Authentication Type: None
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP Address: <blank>
Done
[the above gets you a connection to the Internet ]
Again, either add a New item, or edit an existing one.
Name: T-Mo WAP or T-Mo MMS or something descriptive
Connects To: WAP Network
Access Point: wap.voicestream.net
[everything else as above]
Done
[the above gets you a connection to the T-mobile WAP network]
Done
[you are in Settings...Connections, now.]
2. set up one proxy
Scroll to "Proxy"
[this is also reachable directly from home screen via: Start...Settings....Connections....Proxy]
New.... or Edit an existing (your preference)
Name: Tmo WAP->Internet
Connects from: Wap Network
Connects To: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Done
[the above sets up a proxy connection for your SMS/MMS]
Done
[you are in Settings...Connections, now.]
3. Set up SMS preferences
Scroll to "SMS Service"
[this is also reachable directly from home screen via: Start...Settings....Connections....SMS Service]
SMS over: GPRS Preferred
Done
[your are now back in Settings...Connections]
Pess the red "call end" button.
[you are now back on the home screen]
4. Set up MMS on the device:
Start...Messaging
scroll to MMS
Menu...Settings...
Menu (again)
MMSC Settings
Menu...New or Menu....Edit (your pleasure).
[the settings for this MMSC thing should be:]
Name: whatever you like, I used "Picture Messaging"
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Connect Via: WAP Network
Max. Sending Size: 300k (or whatever you prefer)
WAP version: WAP 2.0
Done
Done
Done
HOME
5. set up IE
Start...Internet Explorer
Menu...Tools...Options...Connections
Automatically Detect Settings - This works either way for me, checked or unchecked
Select network: The Internet.
Done
Done
----
All of the above allows me to send out SMS and MMS messages, and receive in such messages, as welll as surf the internet from IE.
I have the $19.99/month T-Mobile internet plan in the USA.
If you have the $5.99 T-zones plan, then I think your settings may be different.
Search elsewhere for that.

Are you sure? Are you sure those things come from ActiveSync and are not just in the Kavana ROM? I use Windows Vista, and the Windows Mobile Device Center, which is the replacement for Activesync. I have never used WinXP and ActiveSync (on the PC) with this device, but I did have those weird entries. I don't see those odd proxy entries get recreated when I sync with Vista+WMDC.
I assuming that the odd proxy entries that reference "new-corp" and "new-inet", were just "in" the ROM by default. Or maybe they were set up when I ran the Internet Connection Wizard which is in the ROM. I don't know for sure. This is why I am asking you, ARE YOU SURE that those entries come from ActiveSync?
Do they return *every time* you sync?
In any case, lacking any real response from the board, I removed the proxy entries from my device, and for me at least, everything still works - SMS, MMS, Internet, etc.
I hate the fact that this still feels so mysterious.
-Cheeso
Damn. I put in all of these settings exactly as shown and still get an "Error Synchronizing" message when I try and send/receive MMS messages. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm on T-Mobile, $20 plan w/ Ricky's 6.1.

I have a htc s621 originally came with wm 6.0 I upgraded to wm 6.1 with Kavana’s 6.1 ROM - Remade by Ricky. after the up grade had probs with getting on the internet and sending and recieving mms spent 4 hours on the phone with immix tech got the internet and sending mms fixed and i can recieve mms but it says i have to download the content but when i hit the button to download it does not download how do i fix this prob thank you for any help anyone can give me
Use the search function buddy. If you made a bit more research when flashing, you would have seen also guides to fix those issues. There is like 48672 threads a day for these things.... I mean, why can't people follow the rules. I did, why can't others.
If I could get a quarter for every MMS thread posted...
i have read throught so many threads and could not find the answer that is y i posted a thread im sorry but i would like to find the answer
I searched a whole bunch and nothing i found worked. i had to piece things together to make it work...
let me know if you use t-mobile and i'll let you know what all my setting are so you can mirror them.
Use Google people. In these cases its your best friend. First of all, in this very site I found lots of T-Mobile .cabs for MMS issues and what not. Second of all, you need to go to Connection Setup and create an MMS Connection. I don't recall the numbers and stuff but it is very easy to find anywhere here on Google.
It's not that simple for everyone man...
I had a hard time getting it to work. I couldnt just do what the stuff said.
I am sorry dude, I just think that if a noob like me could have done it, anyone can. And some people really do not even try the search option. Did it work?
I am not saying it is really hard to do. but for myself, and obviously at least one other person, it doesnt work with the standard settings. i did the same as he did; searched and tried over and over, then called t-mobile, still nothing.
Although my situation may have been a little different because i wanted to have my MMS, my email, SMS, and the $5.99 internet hack. i finally messed with it enough to where i started to understand how it worked, then came up with a solution. i would post it now but I'm on my phone in class.
I'm not trying to moderate, but please dont jump in a post and be assholes to people who said they searched, tried, and called their carrier with no positive results.
We are not being assholes, but these issues have been dealt before many times, and there are tons of people who open at least 4 to 5 threads about them weekly. A bit of search here and on Google would answer pretty much everyone's problems. Its not like your phone is different. T-Mobile, don't know who you spoke to, but they should have simply told you to look at their web Configurator page which is this... http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/phonefirst and you can just click in the info and get... this.. http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.co...ufacturerId=9&mobileNumber=&incomingServerId=
So, don't know about you, but I can assure you many don't even bother looking up anything and they say they do... already on Google man...

I rest my case. Hopefully you solved your problems.

I don't think he should have started a new thread on this subject, please don't think I support or encourage duplicate threads, they are actually a pain in the ass to sift through. He should have tacked onto another like you did when you were having the problems. I don't know about him, but I guess some people not used to how forums work may not realize that when you post in a thread it goes to the very top. Regardless, unless a moderator decides to delete the thread, I personally don't think we need a bunch of people taking the time to tell him to search, but not go that little extra step and link him to a thread. Also, try typing in "MMS" into the forum search, it's interesting. I didn't mean to come off as a jerk or anything, I just get a little upset when things like this happen on forums. Maybe I need to talk to people face-to-face rather than using an electronic medium all the time.
Now! For the goods!
As far as why the settings I got to solve this did not work on my phone, I don't know. It's still weird to me because I have T-Mobile just like them and theirs is fine.
Every time I tried those settings, whether I found them on here, T-Mobile, or elsewhere, I could receive only 1 MMS message, send as many as I wanted, but receive no more.
I started from scratch several times too, just to make sure I wasn't missing something, or had something I shouldn't. Still, it wasn't working.
I eventually came up with a solution on my own. It may have something extra that may not be needed, but it works and I don't want to mess with it!
Just in case it matters; I am using Kavana 080408 remade by Ricky. V24 Vanilla.

Also, when you are in the MMS>Options>Account Settings part, I read the first checked entry which says "Automatic download in home & roaming network." When I reread it, it made me think that it wont automatically download in the home network, not just when roaming; but I could be wrong.
Well, I hopes that helped you out! Let me know if that doesn't work. Those are my only settings, not just the ones I made. I deleted the ones T-Mobile puts in when you use the Connection Wizard thing.
Also, again, sorry if I was being a ****.

If you look up MMS here you won't get anything. I know, its weird.
I suggest you use Google first. They usually will redirect you to XDA threads anyway.
The 8080 trick, as far as I know, doesn't work anymore. T-Mobile found out a while back and closed it. The only thing you can do now is ask them for the $5.99 T-Zones but you should call from a non PDA phone (they know by the IMEI when you call which phone you have. Its insane, they got like a huge database of all IMEI's or something). But if they find out, they will switch you to the 19.99 or 34.99 deal. So be careful.
Well, it seems you managed to change your GPRS (and not GRPS) settings as I suggested and it seems to work, so good luck.

Apart from the appaling writing skills, I suggest you calm down and buy some maturity from people like EternalSoil.
The things I posted here are the same posted by other people much more knowledgeable (even though for something like this you don't need to know how to cook roms) than me. Also, I don't know which carrier you have since you never told us 'til now, but the principles are the same. If you have AT&T or vodafone or immix, the settings are the same, the only thing that you will have to look for is "MMS Setting for <your carrier>". Its this not using the brain at full potential that I don't appreciate, not people asking after true searching.
I went on Google just now, typed in immix settings, saw a Nokia 6200 settings doc... I said, let's try it and... voila'... Sure, you will have to use your brain a bit, but the info you need is all right here. 5 minutes buddy.
NOKIA 3200, 6010 & 6200

The forum search will only search on 4 letters or more "just to cleat that up"
You can always use the google assisted search as things like mms settings wont differ from phone to phone.
OP: Glad you got it sorted.
Good to know you got it sorted out OP.
I have had the $5.99 plan for almost 2 years now. The 8080 thing still works I assume, cause all my stuff works just fine.
As far as search goes; it's good to know the forum search will only do 4+ letters. I don't know why I prefer the forums search, I just do =/
If you have the 5.99 thing, THAT's why it works. The 8080 port was a glitch of T-Mobile for those who didn't even have the T-Zones 5.99.
same here..
Thanks for the write up EternalSoil...I am in the same boat as you were. Tried every setting under the roof, MMS would work 1-2 times OK, then I would never receive any more (but could send all the time). I too am using the $5.99 plan. Internet works just fine, it's just the dang MMS. If I reboot, occasionally I will get 1 or so to come through but that's it. I have tried about every ROM out there (just flashed to NRG 1.4 last night) to see if that would make a difference.
Prior to entering in all your settings, did you run the Connection Setup program, then delete all the entries?
Can you outline your exact settings in the MMSC preferences? I just want to try and match this up identically w/ someone else to see if I can get this to work. If you have any other thoughts please let me know.
Thanks!
Yes, I did run the connection manager. It added some proxies, or GRPS settings or something. I deleted everything that was in any of those, then entered the stuff I posted before.
My MMSC Settings:
Name: T-Mobile MMS
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
WAP gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Connect via: WAP Network
Max. sending size: 300K
WAP version: WAP 2.0
Prefrences (these are what I have checked):
Automatic download in home & roaming network
Save sent Messages
Allow delivery report
Disconnect network connection after MMS
No. of attempts: 3
Photo resolution: SXGA (1280x1024)
Hope that works for you man, let me know if you need more info.
Thanks for the settings...matched them exactly and still having issues. Do you mind telling me what you have on the Settings > Connections > Menu button > Advanced page?
Thanks man, hope to get this soon!
From another thread I posted in too:
Mine is doing the same thing..Tmobile..reflashed last night to Kavana, manually put in all settings (mms / proxy). Phone sends MMS fine but will not receive them. Phone lights up when receiving MMS but never comes through. I will manually send/receive, and occasionally I see the envelope flash up with the down arrow, but it usually does nothing after that point...
