When I look at the picture it must be fake.... screen resolution seems WAY to high, and I don't think one would try to install a full Suse installation on the Artemis. I'd design a distribution with a handy interface for phones, not for desktops.
I've installed Windows Vista on my P3300 it runs very smoothly.
Funny...

Very funny
This is amazingly similar to what I did at Uni.
For my Masters project (Computer science course) i totally removed everything from the p3300 and put all my own hardware in it...it was then capable of running xbox 360 games (through a dvd player which is connected via the charge cable)...
???
how to install it??
@uzzy
...wanna play too! (do i need to go to uni for that again?)

Linux on Artenmis
Hi freaks,
I'm also interested to run linux on my Artemis. I had a look at www.ti.com to check out the linux support for the omap - processors and found this article:
-------------
http://focus.ti.com/docs/pr/pressrelease.jhtml?prelId=sc08019 ("TEXAS INSTRUMENTS TO DEMONSTRATE ANDROID MOBILE PLATFORM")
"BARCELONA, Spain (Feb. 11, 2008) - Today at Mobile World Congress, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) announced it will demonstrate an early look of the Android mobile platform in two forms: a prototype handset based on TI's OMAP850 processor that also includes TI's Wireless LAN (WLAN) and Bluetooth® wireless technology solutions, as well as an OMAP3430 processor-based Zoom Mobile Development Kit from Logic PD."
--------------
I think ti will present a linux for the omap processors soon, because they are in competition with e.g. Qualcomms MSM - processors.
So in my opinion we have to wait a few month to get a running linux operating system on our devices.
Regards,
hqqh

Hey, you just have to put the original Vista-DVD in the optical drive of your Artemis an then reboot.
If you do not have an internal optical drive in your artemis, you can connect a traditional DVD-Player over WiFi. Just stick an USB-WiFi-Controller in the cinch-port of the player an wait until tomorrow.

Time, something I am short on.... Unhappy with my solution then make it yourself, seems simple enough....
If Custel doesn't release a .cab version, I can rip it from 2.0 and put it together, but Ill have to wait for 2.0 because I don't have the audio manager files, registry values..etc, and Im a lazy pothead who won't be using this application, so it would likely be atleast friday before I have anything up.

Yeah. I'd love to ad this Audio Manager to my Black 1.2 which is just the way I like it.
There is cooked Artemis ROM available, that contains this and other apps (HTC Voice Recorder, HTC Audio Booster). Download here. Maybe you can try to dump that thing. Here is extracted version from Artemis (Dopod version) ExtROM (attached), which does not work for me. Attached is also working HTC Voice recorder.
NOOB WARNING: DO NOT TRY TO FLASH ROM MENTIONED IN THIS POST. IT IS INTENDED FOR DIFFERENT DEVICE!
Ok, so the Audio Manager above will work for any WM6 ROM, or just the one you were talking about.

HTC just made their "major" announcement. Are you ready for it... wait... it's the Elf now official with its "Touch" street name. Right, the Windows Mobile device we first saw six months ago and already formally announced by 02 Germany as the Xda nova. HTC's big surprise? Well, the Touch is the first device to feature TouchFLO touchscreen technology "developed by HTC" -- though we think Microsoft had a little something to do with it. It's not multi-touch like the iPhone, but it does offer a "new and unique" way to sweep a finger (or stylus) across the screen to control the 3D interface. To recap, the diminutive 99.9 x 58 x 13.9-mm Touch runs Windows Mobile 6 with TouchFLO UI on a 2.8-inch display and OMAP850 processor while packing tri-band 900/1800/1900 GSM with EDGE, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 1GB microSD expansion included, and a 2 megapixel cam. Best of all, it's available now in the UK, later this month around Europe and Asia, and then North and Latin America in the 2nd half of the year.
I particularly like the new Today Screen. Attached

What is new?? Really poor site HTC put togeather to present this. A simple youtube video with someone using the interface would atleast have explained the gui...
Finally did see a litte about how the gui works, looks very nice, question is how "deep" this interface goes, is it like SPB Mobile Shell or more integrated, you still have to use a stylus to enter text etc, right?
Any hardware reason we could not be seeing this in cooked rom from some of the talented chefs here?
Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, it looks simply but great power "inside", I'm loving it !!!!!! ^^

Nice website they have going on there but some of the pop-ups block the navigation arrows. One has to find another pop-up that will pop-up somewhere else which is not blocking the arrow.

Naa... Sry guys but a phone without HDSPA or 3G is not more than a little brother of our beloved TyTn. But I agree on the interface part. Looks very smart and I hope someone can rip it to our Phoney; The Beloved Mr T....
Price will be half the price of a TyTN - but it may be an upcommer for a later relaease with some more connex power...maybe a TyTn 2
Lets pray: A TytN like device with that interface, a better screen, a better processor, ram etc and the new Nvidia graphics processor...yummi.

how hard is it to uninstall if needbe? can you just uninstall it from add/remove programs?
also, have you got the specs for plugins? or is that a feature to yet be built?
You can disable it through the today screen config in your settings, just like you do any other today screen app.
The SDK for plugins will be released shortly. This weekend I am shooting for. And support for draggable and moveable plugins and program shortcuts is the very next thing to be implemented, that will be coming in the next week.

It's BsB 6.5.1E ROM from Diamond section.
I tried this out on my Elfin (6.5 23009). It seems really nice but obviously needs more widgets. The functionality seems limited and also customization needs to expanded. I bet everyone has mentioned that several times by now though...
It seemed to want to choke up on my device. Especially the pictures and calendar widgets. The rest of it was smooth. It'd be nicer if I had a faster cpu to run it on.
It is beautiful and simple. Nice!

Iv been using this on my 6.5.1, I think its fantastic, considering its in very early stages its amazing.
If/When more widgets start becoming available it will be perfect, even a replacement for TouchFlo3d!

It's is fast and stable. Tested gps garmin and igo8 no problems for so far. I'll be on the road with it today to give it a good run. It really is Amazing work you've done Spiaatie!! I'ed like to see if it will work with a gsm card I have. I use running voice gsm to test and it works but it's a really old app.
Great Work!!!!
Thanks!!!
woah!!! it's 4:30 and i have to be at work at 8 ouch!! Ok that's enough for me i'll continue test and report in later.

So far so good. It fast and stable. About bluetooth connections all works, except I still can not pair with my phone as bluetooth modem (dial-up networking). It suddenly jump. It said: The connection failed and could not be reestablished. Try to use with 'modem is' to set the apn provider, still can not connect.
I use old school T68i (bt 1.1) and Nokia 2865i (bt 1.2).
Any idea?
Any issues with WIFI?
Great job Spiaatie!!
The ROM is working almost perfectly for me. I seem to be having some issues connecting to WIFI networks. I have tried open and WPA networks which connected once, but can't seem to reconnect again

Just tried on my htc touch diamond2. It works well but because of the high resolution and the poor processor compared to the snapdragon on the leo, it lags a bit. Maybe a lower graphics mode? Most windows mobile phones don't have a snapdragon

Nice game
tested it on my touch pro 2 with my own rom (ocarina rom) working on wm 6.1
On my cruise, don't talk about it, it won't start because of not enough memory... saddly for my good and old polaris...
So, what can I say, nice game, a bit (more...) lagish... it's on version 1.0.1 I think.
I'll try the second version.
ps : you should add a help menu... I had to search a lot how it works :s

You will have to solve it ^^

Updated to 1.0.2, much better I doesn't stutter at all when I disable the statistics, with the statistics on sometimes, but it's still much smoother
Thanks for update...

Just tried on my htc touch diamond2. It works well but because of the high resolution and the poor processor compared to the snapdragon on the leo, it lags a bit. Maybe a lower graphics mode? Most windows mobile phones don't have a snapdragon

yes, and maybe you are not aware, that there were good cpus BESIDES snapdragon, until HTC destroyed whole PDA matter(pda = palmtop with phone module and WM, not to be confused with 0button android bs).
btw, game's fluid on 520 mhz xscale(what's not surprising, there's even no need to overclock). i mean.. it is fluid until mem runs out
tbh, seeing visuals i cannot understand why mem requirements are SO high. and i am serious.
anyway, it is not freeware, so i am amazed, that rule of xdadev is broken here.

I'm sending free registration keys for XDA-dev members, so there isn't broken rules here. Anyway I've sent keys to you and I would like to know your opinion about this game. Thanx.
