Has anyone else noticed that their WM6.1 device has been crashing if music is played and the screen off? Tried both the vanilla and touch roms, never had a problem when they were based upon wm6.0. Does anyone know a fix to save going back to vanilla 2?
Thanks
Yeah, I experienced the same but the bug is not reproducible. The mp3 played when it crashed differed everytime.
I noticed that it's crashing more often when the volume is on maximum. So I set the volume to 90% and it seems to be working.

Just wondered if anyone else was having a problem when playing music.
Seems to just be pausing randomly and sometimes it will be playing and then need to buffer. Alsooooo if I use audio manager it tends to crash the device.
Any known solutions without going back to the old roms?
Cheers
I 've also faced with this problem. Not only WMP but HTC Audio Manager.
Sometime while I play music. it occur an Error "Not enough space" or something like this.
but sometime after I reset my phone, the problem is gone.
I use a rom "ARTEMIS & LOVE WM6.1 ROM V34 - Build 20758.1.4.1 (Manila2D)"
I am new to this forum of wonderful people, wizards and cooks. I have a problem.
I just flashed my X1 with the Phoenix ROM. Everything seems to run just fine. However the only problem is that the moment the device goes into standby or the screen completely turns off, the media player simply switches off the audio by itself. This is happening with Windows Media Player, Nitrogen and Pocket Music. Is this normal?
Previously, the music used to be on even when the device screen was switched off using the Power button.
Please help/advise on what to do. I listen to lot of Music. Desperate to get this solved.
Thanks in anticipation.

sometimes i get this problem with coreplayer and sometime i don't. using valkyrie rom. weird
I have never been able to get my music tab functioning correctly on my device. Whenever I try to play a music file, it will play for about 1-2 minutes and then it just stops playing. It usually seems to happen around 1:45. It isn't just that it loses sound, the time stops counting up and everything. The only way to get it to start playing again is to actually stop the playback and start it over again. The problem only occurs when I try
to use the music tab. WMP, TCPMP, MortPlayer, etc are all fine.
This issue has gone on pretty much since I got my phone last year. I believe that at one time in the past it DID seem to get resolved but I have no idea what was different or what ROM I was running at the time.
Preventing the phone from turning the screen off (my first thought) does not appear to extend the time before it stops. Having the phone plugged in also has no effect. It happens using BT audio as well as the phone's speakers. This issue has persisted across multiple ROM versions and cooks. I have been running mostly EnergyROM lately but have also encountered it with Valkyrie and others.
If anyone has any good ideas on how to fix this I would be grateful. It has gotten to the point that I just ignore the music tab entirely if I don't actively remove it from Sense, but it would be nice to be able to use it.
I'm assuming you're playing your music off of the SD card? Does it behave the same when you play files from the onboard memory?
same here and yeah im running it off the SD card. help please
I too am having the exact same problem.
I have had the problem, but I found out that Opera was also always open when this happens, and I just assumed that the system was running out of memory, so I just play music when Im doing NOTHING else when using the Sense player, but the Alternative is to just use WMplayer or TCMP or Nitrogen
well sense the new cht has the music player on the homescreen i find it very nice and usefull and wmp does take up any memory while the htc sense doesnt..so yeah =/
I typically use BeyondPod to download and play podcasts. In the past 4-6 months or so, the player will randomly pause, sometimes it does this every 10 seconds, sometimes it does it every 20 minutes, it's completely random it seems. This problem had never occurred before, I'm not sure which version of Android I started having this problem. I'm usually on the latest.
I've tried different kernels (lean, franco, faux), different ROM's (AOKP, JDX, JBSourcery), and even different podcast players (BeyondPod, Podkicker, etc) and the issue still happens.
This is very irritating while driving and having to unlock my phone and press the play button, especially when these pauses are occurring frequently.
Currently on JDX 13.2 and Franco r366.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
this also happens to me, everything started with JB 4.2
I still don't have a clue
From time to time, pretty common actually, the sound that's playing through the phone will start to distort. This especially happens when listening to music and using another app but I've also noticed it with the
swiftkey keyboard sounds. Is there any way to fix this?
I have the same issue and I don't know of a fix, but I do know that staying on the app playing audio tends to keep it from distorting, so just try to keep the screen on and don't multitask a lot I guess until this bug gets fixed.
