O2 Customisation - Profile Selecter - P3300, MDA Compact III General

I've upgraded my ROM to Artemis Vanilla 4.01 from the O2 custom WM6 on my Xda Orbit.
I love the new conversation grouping, but am really missing the profile selector. I found it really good to have the profiles all set up and just flick between them depending where I was.
Does anyone know if this application is available anywhere? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Ta, Ian

Search for the older version of Phone Profiles V1.2 if I'm correct.
The newer version is not freeware, but the old one does the job pretty well!
There is a profile plugin included in the o2 software, if you can bare to have the o2 icon in your system tray then its ok. Some of the other included software is pretty good to.

Where to find this plugin? I have the o2 Orbit but don't see any o2 profile plugin, where do you have to start it?
Thanks
The O2 app is just called "Profiles" and should be visible in the today items list if you did a normal config of your device (i.e. didn't stop the customisation from running when you first switched the device on).

Something weird about WM6 and vibration

Hi guys !
I think something changed in the way windows reports vibration support.
I'm currently using PDAViet 4.0.0.5 but in noticed this problem in 2 other official WM6 ROMs ( a HTC Touch and an Eten ).
A program (inlux Messenger) which supported vibration in WM5 no longer lets me select this in WM6. On the other hand, Menneisyys has this program running on an Universal WM6 and vibration works (i saw it in his screenshots of the program)
I'm wondering if anyone knows how programs know if the device supports vibration (registry ?) and maybe how i can fix this in WM6.
Oh, i already checked \\HKLM\Snd\Support\VibSup and it's "1" so there must be something else...
Thanks,
RPG

Noob questions (so many of us)

I've had search on the forums, but have questions i can find the answer to.
I'm a PC tweaker and overclocker. I fancy doing the same with my phone. more out of curiosity then any real need.
MDA Compact 3 (tmobile)
Most used app is tomtom.
I've found the how to bit, and understand the the getting "CID unlocked" then doing the rom flash.
My main questions are.
Once flashed, is there much needed to be done to get it back on the network? ( buggered about on a mobi a while ago and getting it back on the network took ages)
What are the main benefits of upgrading?
I've seen the touchflo demo on youtube and know you can get roms for my phone. what is the best one for my phone/network?
And what the most stable one?
what would be a good rom for some one who install/uninstall lots of app and generally like to poke around, but really only uses it as a phone and gps?
Cheers for any pointers/help
Hi Megabite,
What do you mean with network?
The Network of your telco of your home network?
The best rom for MDA Compact is B&B 4.0 with touch flo.
GPS is working fine
But 4.1 is coming with the latest OS.
And the camera is also fixed. So just wait until released.
The rom is in beta testing
Thanks for the reply.
I meant network as in my telco, as in t-mobile UK.
So just to clarify, touchflow is the user interface that "sits" on windows mobile version 6 (or wm v5) or is it a seperate user interface?
and any date for the realse of 4.1
No, no network problems, you'll just have to run the network wizard to auto configure the gprs internet stuff.
The touchflo cube is just a pretty app that sits on top of the OS - it's ok, but I find the fact that the touchflo driver allows you to scroll up/down in lists and docs a lot more useful.
As far as 4.1 coming out, it comes out when Tom and his testers think its ready - no ETA yet from what I've seen
The Touchflo cube is an interface for accessing some commonly used programs, contacts etc, Touchflo also allows you to scroll using finger movements in other apps, eg internet explorer.
If you do upgrade to a WM6 rom the benefits are a more stable OS & HTML email amongst other things. Tmobile have stated that they will not be releasing a WM6 ROM for the MDA C3 so if you do want to upgrade you will have to use another carriers rom or a cooked rom. There are 2 official roms available, O2 UK and Dopod SEA, both are WWE (English). I use Tom's B&B v4.0 rom as it looks and feels the best and doesn't have any operator rubbish in it. In order to upgrade your rom to WM6 you will first need to CID (Carrier ID) unlock it as you have already discovered.
It is very easy to put the tmobile uk settings back in, there are plenty of cab files in this forum or the settings can be found on the web. If you really can't find them I have a cab file somewhere I can send you.
Regarding a release date for Toms B&B v4.1, Tom produces these roms as a hobby not a job, therefore you won't get a release date, just the rom when it is ready!

Ultimate 8502 & WM6.1
Hi!
I've upgraded to WM6.1 from the iMate site, and have lost the Telstra MyPlace options and continually get browser crashes both in IE & Minimo. Is it just me or a buggy ROM? WWE.01.77 & WWE.06.06, official ROM from iMate. Appreciate any feedback!
Hi,
I never have "H" icon, only 3G or G
why?
The newest ROM from Imate was probably the ROM that being released Here Before Imate does.
any1 find it ODD???
Is there any chance someone could upload imate go?
I'd like to have a play with it, however as i purchased my phone second hand i dont have the user name and password to get into device customization to get to the imate download section.
Thanks
Persistance pays off...
Just thought I'd update the post - fixed the problems with MyPlace/Telstra Business & Foxtel by installing the Telstra V5.5 .cab, and voila! Proxy Manager is also back despite iMate support saying 6.1 doesn't support it... Hope this helps someone else.
Image Go = Bad Idea not so well design, since the icon seems to be up size from qvga icon size not smooth.

UK-spec WM6 ROMs for Hermes?

I'm new at ROM-flashing; and I'm smitten! The performance improvement, versus my old WM5 with Orange bloatware, is astonishing.
All the "stripped" (OEM) ROM's I've found so far are US-spec; I've used an AT&T OEM ROM as a starter for ten.
However what I really want is a base ROM which:
1) maps to my UK-spec QWERTY keyboard (for punctuation & symbols);
2) shows calendar date in UK format dd/mm/yy.
3) won't conflict with the lovely WM6.5 ROMs I'm seeing and wanting to try
I've not found any candidate ROM's in my searches so far - I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Many thanks!
You can use shaps advanced config to configure the keyboard (on any rom)
Then use regional settings to set the date/currency/etc to fit your needs.
You chould be able to use any rom you wish (as long as it is for the hermes haha).
UK specific ROMs
That's true to an extent, but what seems to happen is that some ROMs (even by the same chef), vary in their ability to look British. It seems that most of the 6.5 ROMs just don't have the ability to show 24 hour clock and British date format on the Today screen, even when you set them in the Regional Settings, but others do. DarkVisions 5 does, but some versions of TAI's latest 6.5 don't (and its Connection Wizard doesn't cover some of the smaller carriers for the UK e.g. ASDAmobile, Virgin etc.) That's not a criticism of those chefs, just an observation about the base 6.5 being used, I hasten to add. I can recommend DarkVisions - it has the correct keyboard layout straight off, the connection wizard covers all the UK carriers and the date and time can be changed to UK format on the Today screen. Give it a try.
I'm in the UK and this isn't something I've ever considered. I flash first with an at&t stripped rom, and then with whatever rom I'm trying, (currently +Que's B3), and I've always been able to set to dd/mm/yy HH:mm:ss within windows, and change the keyboard with Advanced Config.
I do agree about the connection wizard though. I'm on Blyk and have only found one rom on my HTC Wizard which had the settings.
I haven't tried Darkvisions rom though.
well i have NEVER had a problem setting 24hr time , date , keyboard or anything else with any rom i have tried and i have tried a LOT of them, to set 24hr time in regional settings set it in the time tab as HH:MM:SS thats all you need. If its set as H:MM:SS then it will display as a twelve hour clock
Folks - thanks for the speedy and informative replies.
I've taken your advice: flashed Dark Visions 5.13 on top of the AT&T OEM ROM; configured regional settings; and my queries have all been answered.
So - a big thanks for your advice on this!
