Does anyone know where to get a replacement for an ipaq rw6815? The screen is different from the one used in the Atom/6818 which is made by NEC and the partsnumber starts with "NL". I know that because I ordered the NEC screen and it won't work.
The partsnumber for the screen I'm looking for is TX07D08VM1CAB. It's very hard to find.

HP LCD
sokomind
how I can by your LCD?
I live in georgia, tbilisi
@TheYama
Could you please tell me did you have NEC before putting new one, or you have hitachi lcd previously?
I have replaced my broken Hitachi LCD with a NEC screen on my rw6815.
And indeed after trying that ROM update it works
So it's possible to replace the Hitachi LCD with a NEC LCD.
The viewing angles of the NEC screen are very bad in comparison with the Hitachi screen. But that doesn't matter much because the NEC LCD was very cheap
Could you please give me the link to that ROM and how much did you paid that NEC LCD? You can answer me to pm if you want
thanks!

Hi.
Link to that rom is for a few lines up. http://www.modraplaneta.eu/pda/398,Tipy-a-Triky-prvni-wm6-pro-hp-ipaq-rw6815.html
And I pay for NEC LCD i mean about 100$ with postal service on eBay.
OK, thank you, i saw nec lcd for 40 USD on ebay, how did you get so ripped off? you could have bought Hitachi lcd for 100USD...
Hp opaq rom
I Need this rom but in this link I can not find
Hi, I see, link not work correctly. I can browse in my computer, may be I have ROM saved.
But, you can take any WM 6, 6.1, and test the trick with other ROM.
I have now HP 614c, with WM 6.5, RW6815 is for my old business
Yoy dont't need update rom, to working with NEC LCD, you need only hard reset.

Hi rkoczen I have to buy a new display for a rw6815, are you sure that the NEC ones are compatible with this device and only needs to be hard resetted?
Have anybody tried that? Thanks.

The part that you are referring to is just the LCD. You must first check if the LCD is still working properly by turning it on. If you can still see the whole screen light up and function properly under the crack, then the only thing you need is a Digitizer, which you can also find on eBay. In the event that the LCD isn't working properly, you need both the LCD display and the digitizer. Oh yeah and don't forget to order some TORX screwdrivers, to open the TP2 up!
the LCD and digitizer both work fine, this actually happened about 2 weeks ago and ive been using it every day since then.
the only thing broken is that little piece of glass, which your saying is part of the digitizer? its not cracked on the outside, thats why i wasnt sure which part i needed
thanks

Oh really that's weird xD as far as I know there's an LCD screen, with a Digitizer on top that changes your touch into a digital signal (hence the name Digitizer).
You might have to wait for another person to prove me wrong
have the same issue (and no warranty), glass cracked few months ago lcd & digitizer both work fine but the crack is a bit annoying while using, hope your problem was solved ... so did you find out which part was affected? thanks for any info cause I'd like to buy the right part too

Next time, please start your own thread instead of hi-jacking one that is months old.
The glass is always sold as part of the digitizer. I have never seen it separate. Ask whomever you are buying from if it is the glass+digitizer or digitizer only.
I replaced my broken LCD with a new one I bought on eBay.
Although the device is functioning (including the touch screen) the screen looks horrible when assembled with the digitizer.
I've read on XDA that the liquid between the digitizer and LCD is rather important so I didn't wipe it out, but that made the screen look even worse, so I wiped the liquid off. Here's the result:

As you can see the screen is very dim (with brightness set to 100%) and there's a weird "rainbow-like effect" (for luck of better words) that brightens and dims the screen in a strip-like manner depending on the angle your looking at.
What liquid should I use to assemble the two, so that the screen on the digitizer would seem as bright as on the LCD (when on its own). I read on other threads that I should use some kind of glue, but I'm afraid to do so, since the original liquid looked more like oil then glue.
Also, the digitizer is fully working, and you can even use the touchscreen when it's separated from the LCD.
I have no idea what kind of liquid you're referring to. I just replaced mine and I recently replaced one on an EVO and neither had any liquid to speak of.
Does the LCD look amazing UNTIL you cover it - but the goes Mr Hyde when the digitizer goes on?
Compare it in your mind to how completely vivid and gorgeous the OEM lcd is on these. Does it look like that or is it a cheap chinese utter BS LCD which is never going to look any better than that, regardless?
I reaaalllly prefer to find a used phone to steal parts from because of this exact scenario (the advantage being that I know it's an OEM screen and I can take digi and panel together, swap em out 1:1.)
On TP/2 - you could even just leave the entire face/bezel intact and place it on your existing phone. ( I see them on CL all the time for 100 or less)
** for instance modesto.craigslist.org/mob/2348446633.html ** <-- just to show you that they exist. I obviously wouldn't grab that one. Might not even be there when you click it.
From the look of it, I don't believe it can be fixed. I hope I'm wrong and the magic liquid is a real thing and I hope someone who has mastered the lcd alchemy required to restore it will be kind enough to either perform the spell remotely or post the steps in a post here. But... when that turns out not to be real (which I really don't think it is) you have to move onto phase 2 and I hope you didn't spend a lot on that screen.
I know you're sick of using it on screen - and that's NOT my solution - but you should also try SOTI pocket controller which is way faster on screen refresh than Mobiler (I think it's hardware accelerated, actually)
in my country (Serbia) you can find it for about 40 Eur. Touch screen is cca 30.
is not worth the bother to repair broken LCD. you can't fix it... sorry for bad news..
looks like the digitizer has newtons rings...this happens often with Resistive touchscreen. Happens when the upper foil and the digitizer glas where exposed pressure :/ Dunno a fix for it. Reason why i changed to HD2 with capacitive touchscreen.

srry i meant hows the process for dissambling the phone..i ordered the screen+digitizer from hong kong..i replced the screen/digitizer on the infuse 4g and tht also came with the led/digitizer pre-assembled...but i was wondering if theres a guide on how to take the phone apart...it cost my boy almost 800 and dnt wanna be responsible for fukkin it up
Sent from my s#ift (drunk) using XDA App
I've done it myself after I lost my Arc on the pavement. It's not that hard really. It took me an hour or so to complete the exchange. The hardest part is splitting the screen and backframe (or what it's called) from each other. There are lots of clipses holding this beast together.
But it can be done
Lol an hour sounds time consuming...on a side note tho the design of it seems flawed. my friend sat on it with the phone in the back pocket. i do this with all my phones and never had a screen issues...i think the curved back may have bent the screen more than my friends fat a$$
sent as pixels travelling on an invisble superhighway!! via XDA App on the s#ift
UPDATE: finally got the screen from hong kong for 66$, it was easy to take apart, actually 1 of the easiest ive taken apart so far. the motherboard chip set separates easily from the front housing holding the lcd and digitizer, theres also a guide available on how to disassemble it on xda. thinking about getting my own arc now...hmmm

Hi, my arc s fell from motor cycle yesterday, the screen smashed pretty bad on bottompart. It still boot normally, what part do you guys think nee to be replaced? Thanks before.
I have a black SPH-D710 on Sprint. I cracked the screen, so I bought a white replacement (glass, LCD, and digitizer) on eBay.
I took the phone apart and swapped the screens and reconnected the boards and it powers up great... except that I have no service. If I connect back to the cracked screen, it powers up great and I get great service. I was hoping for a quick and dirty swap, but it seems like there must be some code in the screen-side circuit board that is foiling my attempt. I found this video [goo.gl/YNLZE -- xda won't let me post links, yet] where the guy seems to suggest that my problem is the IMEI, but I don't have the first clue about trying to find that in the old part and moving it to the new one, if that's even the problem. I've combed the forums and don't see that anyone else has had this issue.
Ideas?
Did your original LCD get damaged? If not try just swapping the digitizer and using the original LCD. May require use of a hairdryer to separate the adhesive

LCD is fine, just the glass is broken
The glass is cracked in one corner. The LCD itself is fine. The digitizer is fine. Basically the only thing I NEED to replace is the glass. The thing is, I have a replacement LCD with the glass attached, it's just that I lose service when I connect it. I'm just wondering if someone knows why, and if there's a workaround so that I don't have to screw around with trying to heat the glass off, break it even worse, and then be SOL.
Right now my phone works and the broken part is really only over the search button on the screen (which I never use anyway), but I was just hoping to restore it to 100% since I already bought the parts.
Hi all,
Just my luck, and what a way to start the new year!
My nephew managed to knock my phone off the table and onto the tiled floor, cracking my Galaxy Note 2 N7105's screen. (My new case comes in tomorrow T_T)
It has a big smash to the glass front, and I was just wondering if someone could tell me which bit was broken? E.g the glass or the digitiser etc, and how much it would cost to fix?
The phone still works PERFECTLY, S-Pen works flawlessly too, so I'm guessing it's just the front and not the digitiser that's the problem.
Here's a picture of the damage.

The digitiser or just the front glass screen? If it' the digitiser it'll cost me over £100
However, if it's the glass, it'll cost me £15.

You only need to change the front glass. The glass itself doesn't cost much you can get one easily from eBay. Unfortunately the glass is bonded to the LCD by strong adhesive and you need to carefully remove it so as to not cause any further damage to the display. You need some tools and also hair dryer/heat to remove carefully. You can search in YouTube for tutorials before proceeding to try on your own. Good luck :good:
Just wondering if you tried changing the glass? I have the same problem and am trying to decide if it's within my abilities to tackle this

Wow, maybe your lucky, search on YouTube there are many videos of how to fix your digitizer. And you need heater, i think hair dryer can help, tiny both side tape, and free time.
