UK keyboard - HTC Excalibur

I have upgraded to 1.33 ROM but my keyboard has now lost £ sign.
All my searches seem to pop-up US folk wanting their keyboard corrected to US, but I have not found correction to UK keyboard.
anyone know how to do it ? I tried UK cab from 6.1 Kavangh but this does not work as it sets the numeric pad on permanently.
thx

CE Star worked for me on both Rogers and HTC wm6 ROM. It displays Chinese as well as allows pinyin input with the full QWERTY keyboard. The Singapore wm5 ROM also works and has a built in IME.

Changing the keyboard layout

Hi everyone!
Many people out there from all over the world have upgraded their Artemis to Windows Mobile 6, thanks to people who are working hard on cooking nice ROMs for us. These people are used to a specific keyboard layout, many languages are using special characters too.
It would be nice to have a way to change the keyboard layout : something like easy installing CABs or a how to on what to change in the registry, what to remove on the storage, or whatever way to have our own keyboard on theses WWE ROMs.
Is it possible?
vive le france
Hi Romano2k,
The only thing that i have found was this regkey:
http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Windows_Mobile_5_Registry_Tweaks
But afaik does this regkey only work for the 'hard-keyboard' and not for the software-keyboard, so this answer won't help you a lot...
On my P3300 nothing changed with these keys and nothing happend when i changed the keys in 'HKCU\Keyboard Layout' In another forum i found a thread and they are saying you need a third-party software to change the software-keyboard...but for me it's no problem to use the english keyboard...but french keyboards are much stranger (i think french keyboard are the strangest keyboards that exists) and so i can understand your problem
Cheers
Peter
Love your reply's title
I agree with you, the french keyboard is strange, I wish they were only DVORAK keyboards all over the world! But I need my "é" "à" and so on... I'm sure there's a way to change the software keyboard!
Vive LA France
As far as I know it's a dll file that you would have to change. Never tried in WM6 to replace it, in WM 2003 it wasn't possible. Resco Keyboard would be an alternative if you don't want to try to change the layout yourself.
ups...
My french isn't that well....long time ago since school
I found a cab for the german keyboard, maybe you will find out more when you take a look inside this cab ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321236

UK Keyboard Layout

Hi
I have O2 Orbit flashed with the new O2 WM6 and have set in setting to be UK but the keyboard only shows $ instead of £ I think the whole keyboard maybe US how can I get it to UK keyboard.
Its stuck that way I'm afraid. As far as I'm aware there is only 1 keyboard layout which is made for world wide english (WWE) users. The pound sign can be found with the rest of the symbols, pain in the arse I know but thats the Yanks for you
Use pocketCM keyboard, it is the best. Make your own layout, even I did. Just look in development and hacking, you'll find it.

Which S620 Version?
I'm not sure which S620 version I have -- it is European and has the QWERTY layout, with the symbols for the British Pound, US Dollar, and Euro on the J, K, and L keys respectively.
I have the latest KAVANA WM6.1 ROM installed (GREAT!). However, I believe I mistakenly installed the US English Dash key map, which works great for the letters a-z, but some of the symbols do not match the keys (FN-Q is % instead of !, FN-N is & instead of @, etc.). I'm guessing this is a UK English keyboard, since I bought this S620 from eBay and it has a 220V charger. Anyway, any ideas how I get the map to match all the symbols on my keyboard?
I've done quite a bit of searching different threads on this forum but have not so far been able to find the answer.

It looks to be a UK or British keyboard. The British pounds symbol is on one of the keys. That's a sure sign that it's not a US keyboard.
Any uk keyboard mapping support
hey all, is there a uk keyboard mapping cab file yet?
Check in your \Start Menu\My Tools\Extras
do you have a file called "Excalibur eT9 Changer" if you do....click on it and choose the respective layout you need.
You can pick from:
UK Excalibur KeyMap
USA Excalibur KeyMap
Spanish Excalibur KeyMap
Portuguese Excalibur KeyMap
German Excalibur KeyMap
Italian Excalibur KeyMap
If not i can upload the the files needed.

Which Rom are you using??
Key mapp works
i installed the full mapping cab and all is good now. Also, i have no 'my tools' in the start menu. i installed the kavana 6.1 rom.
When I do a long press-and-hold on the period and comma keys, I don't get a semi-colon or colon... just a period or comma. But when I do alt-period or alt-comma, then I do get the semi-colon and colon. I think these are the only keys this happens on, at least that I've seen so far. Anyone else?
Yes, it's a fairly common thing with the new ROMs. Neither of the t9 fixes will help you with it.
thanks guys worked like a charm

TP2 keyboard issue-device for swedish market

Hello all,
I have a problem with HTC TP2 since I bought it, few months ago. I think device is made for Swedish market and I'm running WWE ROM. Keyboard is standard qwerty and all the letters work OK, but after I press FN key to add a symbol (above number) it's not displayed correctly. Do you know how to change it?
Thank you in advance (and sorry for my English)
