I recently restored data to my phone haveing re-flashed it. I used PIM Backup to restore a backup of phone numbers, calendar entries, appointments, logs etc etc. Then I synced my phone with my computer (of which I have outlook installed which has my full address book within the app).
Following the sync with outlook (and PIM backup), i now have 2 of every phonebook entry in my phone! arghhh! What can I do? I have about 200+ phonebook entries (thus 400+ now), so deleting the duplicates one by one is crazy.
Any help, software or advice guys? (and how can i stop this happening again should I reflash, re-restore and re-sync with outlook?)
Thanks.
from PIM backup delete all conacts then re-sync again if u have the contacs in outlook if u dont have then just after deleting them restore the backup
Where is the option to delete all contacts in PIM?

Hi guys,
I am urgently seeking a help.
After upgrading/flashing to PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.2_PowerMap ROM, I am unable to restore PIM (contacts and calendar) information. I use Spb Backup for backing up. Though I was able to restore E-Mail (e-mail + SMS) from the same file. If I try to restore PIM info, I get some db error message and on top of that even cellular network is unavailable.
It seems that there is some difference in db structure for AKU 3.0 and 3.0.1 featured in the above ROM. I did though try to launch the file on my older WM2k3SE device but with no luck.
The issue is that I do not even have all the contacts and calendar on my Outlook (on the desktop), and as you can guess I am sitting empty with hundreds on contacts and calendar items lying in the backup file.
1. Is there anyone here to whom I can send the backup .exe file (created using Spb Backup app), so that he can launch it on his Artemis and then sync with clean Outlook and then export 2 files in .pst format (one for contacts and the other for calendar)
2. Or is there any other way to recover this information from the backup file that I have.
Someones assistance is required, as I am stuck. I will be highly thankful for any help.
The problem has been resolved thanks to user RAMBO29 here.
Well, few other gave me some tips as well .... tnx to them, too.
Hi,
I made a backup with ppcpimbackup, but when i restore my contacts and synch with outlook I'm getting blank contacts... When i delete them i'm getting them back.
I can only solve the problem by doing a hard-reset to my phone and synch again without restoring from Pimbackup.
Hoe can a solve this problem without doing a hardreset?
regards,
Osman
Hi Everyone
I am having an issue with Titanium Backup, and would like to know if anyone have had similar problem and would know how to solve that.
TB would not restore my accounts. I have notably Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync accounts for my mails (as they are the only one apparently allowing push emails). I have made backups and restore after a change of rom, and it didn't work out for my accounts.
I read similar issues on forums, where it was advised to do a complete backup and restore.
I made the following test: I used batch, then Backuo all user apps + system Data. I deleted one of my accounts. Then batch restore (I made restore missing appa + all system data, where I selected restore data only). It did not replace the account I deleted.
Can you advise me doing something differently.
Thanks in advance for your help

Still trying to figure this out myself as well, as well as possibly somehow restoring widgets...
Have you tried (from your description it doesn't look like it) backing up apps and system data separately ? Then just restore the data
Hi guys,
Im currently facing the same issue too.
I manage to restore all apps with data including bookmarks. But it doesnt restore the actual Email accounts such as my Yahoo and gmail.
So everytime I flash a new ROM, I have to manually set them up again.
Hopefully there is a way
works for me
Hi guys, did anyone managed to backup and restore it ?
it seems like titanium backup it as when I do a full restore i find it but just can't identify which packages are involved ..
Quite sure that email alone is not enough ..
I'm having the same issue. It's accounts and sync we are after. It's not an option as far as I can tell.

Hi,
I'm having the same issue.
Just installed Vanilla Root Box 4.2 yesterday on my Galaxy S2 and again I wasn't able to restore correctly my email accounts (both IMAP and EXCHANGE "Corporate").
How I proceeded :
RomNuke
Install Root Box 4.2
Restore Accounts (data)
Restore Email (app + data)
Restore Exchange Services (app + data)
When you explore Accounts TB says it's a DB in /data/system/users/0/accounts.db.
Once I setup my email account, I can see it here.
*A bit sad that Exchange passwords are in plain text here*
So I thought that would be the solution.
But when I restore it, all but email accounts are restored.
Someone has a trick to restore correctly email accounts ?
Thanks
Up.
Unfortunatly never manage to Backup/Restore those email!!
When setting up a new Rom it is very time consumming to have to re-configure them...
If at least it was possible to restore emails + Config, and I will confirme the passwords after that...
Wat all thing can b backed up with Titanium back up...
I need back up for SMS, Contacts, Call log
Titanium backup can backup apps wi-fi access points etc....
For SMS use SMS Backup and Restore.
And backup your contacts on your google account
Wat abt calander entries...?
That'll come under system data in titanium backup. Specifically, I'm not completely sure but there are two system apps, calendar and calendar storage. Together they should backup your calendar data.

If you make contacts and calender events under the google account..........they are automatically backed up...........you can look and edit them by opening GMail on your computer
I was wondering if it's possible to backup your configured email accounts in gmail. Because I'm always busy reconfiguring all email accounts I have in gmail with a clean install. Have tried Titanium Backup and My Backup Root. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or it's just not possible because of security (password and such). Also haven't been able to find much info about this elsewhere.
Nobody?
Want to backup Gmail emails either on Windows OS. Just try this useful Softaken Gmail Backup Software Windows OS. The tool provides different file formats to save resultant files like pst, msg, eml, mbox etc. The demo version is free for user, you need to just download and install on your system. Backup entire data quickly
