Hi,
I just flashed my spv artemis with Artemis Touch 3..
All fine but... I'd like to use alpha-numerical Touch Keypad when writing texts, etc. The problem is that there are few T9, but obviously not a Polish one. I don't know how to upload a T9, where to take it from or at least deactivate the T9 feature at all...
Any feedback mates?
thanks
Polish T9 is not a problem, but Polish xT9... that is the problem... More about XT9 input, you can find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343106
For disable xt9 use THIS cab
Thanks a million!
You brought me some hopes accodrding to the lack of Polish XT9. The thread seems to be quite fresh.
The *.cab unfortunately messed something up, disabled the 12-buttons Keypad and turned it into a qwerty one. Strange. Even resetting haven't helped.
Anyway I uninstalled it and all fine now.
I've noticed a simple button on the keypad tha allows you to disable the XT9 Is that thanks to the cab or it has always been there? dunno
I suppose that the best temporary resolution would be installing a keypad supporting the old T9, install a POL one and wait for some tough brains to develop the Xt9 translation (as I am not a tough brain able to help in any means...)
cheers

That was happend because this cab permanently disable xT9 dictionary, and it's completly normal.

I've got my HTC Touch pro2 early, by not waiting for Norwegian release date (4 july).
The touchflo is english, and I like it that way.
The keyboard layout does not include norwegain "æøå" letters.
The spellcheck/XT9 lists I already have are: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
I would like to have "Norwegian"
where are the settings/files i need to add, in order to fix this ?

Might be worth having a look in the blackstone forum for their language packs and just try it on the TouchPro2, should work in theory.
I tried to change my hw keyboard layout and I have been able to have "è" and "ù", no way to have "ì", "ò", "à": keys simply do not work at all...
As far as software keyboard is concerned, I believe that you should change sip.
nicelad_uk : thanks - I assume you mean this post ?

I installed Norwegian language, and it works becuase it's auto-selected, but does not show in the language selection list so after choosing English, I must reinstall it if I want it back.
It's a spellcheck and XT9 list, it does not influence the soft-keyboard layout, or the kayboards special characters list.

I mean to change software keyboard , using something like EZinput 2.0 or similar
Solution for Norwegianhardware Keyboard on HTC Touch Pro2 is here:

It's best to Get in there early as a Moderation Team.
For now it's best to keep These kind of Using Questions in the General Forum.
The English version sales in Hong Kong this time has multiple language input method. All UI is in English but on the keyboard there is a key for user to switch between Chinese & English input method. The English fonts is standard Tahoma but the Chinese fonts is AR HeiU20 Medium (grey) which is very ugly. I suggest any user change the Chinese Fonts and I found that SC_Song is the best.
Moved Post To General Forum.
Especially with the title i can't directly see if it needs to be in Rom Development?

I think the default Chinese font is fine.
But if you want some Chinese fonts, contace me, I can send you some since I'm using Chinese Vista plus English MUI.
To change the font, just put the font in "\Windows" and make some changes in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink"

Hey, I like how HTC applied new chinese input methods for english systems. But they didn't provide any transcribe method. Any good software suggestions? Will CE-Star conflict with the new input methods? Thanks for any help!

Did you mean Chinese hand-writing IME ?
Though I rarely use, but I‘ve got some, like 漢王手寫(HangWang Hand-writing), 三星手寫(SAMSUNG), 蒙恬手写(PenPower), etc..
of course when you search for these IMEs, you'd better Google them with Chinese keywords or it will return less results.
BTW: In fact, I'm now using the Chinese font in official Diamond ROM on my Pro2. It's better than the default Chinese font.

What's the difference in the fonts? Is the Diamond one better? any screen dumps?
Did you guys get a CE-Star install CD with your English version TP2?
hi, Singaporean Chinese here. We have the A4 chinese input method installed by default on the Rhodium. Noticed that I cannot input 'PinYin' using the hardware Qwerty keyboard and have to use the touchscreen kb.
How about HKG? Do you have the same software? If yes, is this a software limitation?

Nope, didn't get the CS-Star CD. Because you are able to use the keyboard to input chinese words.
You have 4 options:
1. ZhuYin
2. PinYin
3. CangJie
4.Stroke
I don't know why they didn't provide a transcribe version, so I can just write on the screen. I am no good with the keyboard.
I want to install CE-Star but don't know if it will conflict with current Chinese inputting methods.

Try installing CE-Star v2.8 R3c.
From what I read previously, Diamond2 was bundled with CE-Star despite having Chinese support, but I don't know anyone with one in person to confirm this.
Did anyone find a Hebrew support package that works on the Touch Pro2?
I tried Eyron, PDAC, Paragon (LEng) and badnimits but non of them seems to work
With all of them I tried the basic support without UI translation but still no luck.

for the hebrew support

OK, We have a winner !!! OSM is the man
After HR. I installed:
1) OSM Hebrew package
2) AEKMap for with the updated TP2 Hebrew layout for hardware keyboard support
3) Finger Keyb for Hebrew soft keyboard support
Almost everything is working great & the device response is hardly effected.
Two things I have noticed:
1) Known issue - Opera is showing Hebrew LTR
2) In text messages I receive sometimes digits are displayed in Arabic I guess this is font dependent
didn't get it, if you're looking for FREE hebrew - why check out eyron & pdac!?
anyway, I tried the PDAC with the registry changes I directed you to before at pocketpcfreak - and it WORKS !
second, just TODAY i recieved an email fro EYRON's support saying that you can download a trial version of hebrew FOR TP2 from their site.
wanna try it out ?
Yep why not

Its not so much the "free" as finding a light Hebrew support.
Coming from the TYTN with its challenging memory configuration finding a light Hebrew support made HUGE difference.
Today even though the TP2 has much more memory I don't see a reason waisting it on something as basic as reading and writing in Hebrew.
ok, here we go... i'll try my best:
go to
HKLM/software/Tegic/eT9/XT9suportMSSip and change the value to 0
then, hop over to:
HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/control === here you need to change 2 values:
the first: layouts/e0010409/imefile change the value there to windows/compime.dll
the second: layouts text change the value there to COMP IME
reset and you're ready to go !
all credit to harvey from pocketpcfreak forum
hope all is clear...
I didn't find any TP2 version on Eyron's site.
And TBH, I dont give a **** ^^..
The free hebrew package that is offered above in this thread is way better, doesnt slow down your device, and is compatible with everything

Eyron Hebrew for TP2
OK, I installed it, it looked good at first, and is OK in general, BUT:
Caps shift/lock is disabled on hardware keyboard for english typing, and the cursor is a few spaces away from the place that it should be located when typing an email (again in english).
Now for people that don't use english a whole lot, these problems may not matter that much, but for me they do...

also tried - i can confirm all of the above.
also - if you have the regional settings set to hebrew the eyron will not let any .net cf based apps work ! you must change to english.
btw- p.d.a.c have released a .cab file to fix the "fun" button problem with the hardware keyboard.
in short, seems the free hebrew support is better than the rest but does anyone know of fixes for the mentioned problems ? i.e opera ltr & arabic fonts instead of digits ?
Good for start...

Is there anyway of combining the FN key with another key for the AEK language toggle?
Scoot and I are wanting to pare down the size of the all language Cyanogen release builds. The best way to do that is to obviously remove some languages. These are what we have discussed keeping so far. If you have a need for one that is not listed add a reply with the language you want to keep.
English
Spanish
French
German
Dutch
Italian
Portugeese
Arabic
Romanian
Russian
Polish
Czech
Hebrew
Chineese
Greek
And I know I am missing a few so please do request them!
Does anyone use vietnamese, chineese, japanese or korean? I know typically people in those countries already have phones better than our kaisers lol.
Edit: Due to the large list of languages that we need to keep. I think we should do a Eurasia pack, English,Spanish and French and all languages as per suggestion earlier. That would be do-able.
Part of why its so huge our builds are... well look at english for instance. There are like 10 different versions listed.

I wanted to go for that idea a long time ago but it doesnt work that way sadly. The support has to be compiled into the framework. So at the time the build is compiled you get to choose what languages but thats it.
thats a shame, this would strip down the builds a lot... ill stay with the eng then

I like the way dzo did for Fresh Froyo, with multiple variants: US (English and Spanish), EU (Euro-languages), and FULL (all languages). My own personal Fresh Froyo build is english only, with one wallpaper, no live wallpapers, and no apps that I can install after installation. A small /system means we can have a larger /data partition.
