i have all my mails on my htc tytn,on 4gb sd card.but,i format my laptop, and forget to save my outlook mails.so,i try to get my mails from my ppc to laptop, but they don't want to sync.i try a lot of things, but i just can't get ppc mails to my outlook on msn.any help?
Check your sync settings so that they give priority to the Tytn, and over-write the PC. Once they are there you can copy them to MSN if you like, I suppose.
There may be another way someone can think of, but that seems the easiest.

I have upgrade from an XDAI to an XDAII, I have trawled through this forum and cannot find the answer. Please put me out of my misery want to transfer the data stored on the XDAI to my XDAII what is the best way of doing it. Obviously you cant use backup and restore and I have tried copying and pasting the Db directory (not possible).
Any clues anyone, I would be very gratefull
what data because if it's just contacts and appointments and tasks and such tnen it activesync with outlook and will automaticly be transfered
programs you can reinstall using activesync 's addremove programs
It is contacts appointments etc.. but I cant use my contacts and appointments because I administrate about 20 of these XDA's so they only connect as guests. I dont want all of the appointments and contacts in my Outlook.
spirit backup or something i think let you choose what you will be backing up maybe if you can choose only those things you can restore it on the xda2 even though it came from xda1

You could just add a new user to windows and use that user's outlook for activesync to store the information in, then delete everything and move on to the next one.. Not ideal, but it should work.
Oh, if you make the user's profile mandatory (not sure if you can do that on a stand alone windows computer, but you can on a domain), all the settings (including outlook contents) should be lost when you log out. That should make things easier still. Just get the user's profile so far as to enable it to sync, make it mandatory, and then log in, sync, sync, log out, repeat.
Can you not just back up to an SD card those apps/data you want and then restore to the new advice. Not tried it, just a thought.

I know that Activesync is free and helps to sync my PPC to Microsoft Outlook and it is based on Partnership. I want to sync the same Microsoft Outlook .PST file which can reside in my Office PC and my Home PC.
Even when I have the same .PST file in Microsoft Outlook from my office PC copied to my home PC, Activesync will take it as a different PC and I'll have to combine all the information from my PPC and Microsoft Outlook and delete duplicates after that. This is very troublesome.
Is there something or setting that I can do on Activesync to solve this problem or is there other software that can solve this troublesome step?
When I was using Palm OS, I don't have this problem
Thanks.
i hv this problem
i cant select calender with my active sync to sync it with my BA

Hello, the company I work for has disable ActiveSync and therefore I cannot sync my email/contact/calendar, etc. from the Exchange Server.
As such I have a work-around for email/calendar, but need my contacts from MS Outlook on my Hermes. Is there a way to manually import my contacts onto the WM6 phone?
I am open to other work-arounds....thanks in advance.

The simplest workaround is copy the contacts folder from the Exchange Server to a local .PST and then sync trought Outlook 2003 in your local PC. This is two phase sync, but this is the only you can do if ActiveSync is disable in your Exchange Server.
Be carefull when ActiveSync come back with the dup contacts..

I use outlook at work but our "it experts" dosent alowe us to connect our private phones to our pc's, but i still want to have my apointments in my p3300 calender.
In outlook u can export files from the calander, but now to my Q what files is it that i want to export, and where should i put it in my p3300 to get the apointments in to my calander in phone?
I will use WM storage to get the file from the pc and then move it from my card to where it should be.
I have been trying to restore my contacts from my Mogul to my new TP2 with no success. When I try restoring just the contact data with SPB Backup, it hoses CPROG.EXE and SERVICES.EXE ...
Is there any other way to transfer the phone list? I have a LOT of stuff there I don't wish to lose.
I've used Total Commander to save pim.vol file to my storage card. Pop it in the TP2 and copy over.
Also use an exchange server. Google has a free one. I like Mail2web.
Export to outlook, import from outlook.
Why the **** would you try to do it the most complicated way? ActiveSync exists to SYNC.

Because my Outlook contact list is not on this machine; as well, I have a different contact list in Outlook from my personal directory on the phone. I don't generally sync the contact lists.
Microsoft My Phone
Login on Mogul
Sync.
Login on Tp2
Sync.

You can run ActiveSync without syncing contacts. Just uncheck them from the list.
Worst case, if you don't want to touch your outlook, make another account on your machine, get a clean outlook profile, sync, sync, delete the account.
Simpler = better.
If there is Sprint Store nearby, they will transfer your contacts quickly.
