Hi all. I know this has been posted earlier but since a time has elapsed and prices has changed I am asking for help again.
I'm from South Africa
My SPV M5000's lcd broke and I am looking for a replacement. I have ordered parts and aluminium case from one of the ebay companies a while back but it never arrived so I am a bit afraid to try that again.
Can anybody recommends a place where I can look for a good product at a decent price.
Thanks
South africa

Anybody hunting for XDA2 here is a list of ebay xda2 on sale now, this guy has sold a bunch of them in the past and has excellent feedback.
Go to www.ebay.co.uk and search for 3379006265 if that one is sold just click on sellers other items, It says he has 15 units for sale.
I bought from him. Very reliable person
Regards,
Claudio.
Claudio,
What about invoice and warranty?
Rgds,
Jos
Crap!
I just spent £85.00 more than I needed!
DOH!
um.... seems tempting to buy one but seems too good to be true :S
his user id name has been changed past 30 days
and also if he has sold 15 units before dont you think hell have enough cash to buy a digicam
I bought mine on ebay for £375 brand new, for some reason the price is coming down very quickly.
damn why cant i find a cheap xda 2 one at £375 would do me fine lol or even £350
help lol
£400 is bit much for me to spend on a phone im 17, no job, student gah
Well at £399 I think its still a bargain, there is nothing stopping you from contacting the previous buyers, just send emails to the people that have given feedback.
eBay @ £399
I bought one from this guy, I too were concerned re the change of ID however changing your ID doesn't negate your feedback profile it follows you. I did contact a previous buyer who was pleased with his service.
Mine arrived yesterday by Special delivery, brand new as stated and it took a whole 3 minutes to unlock it using the software from this site.
Just having fun learning to use it now.
O2 may have commisioned a great product but as phone providers they suck, spending most of my time getting their s#*t of the XDA II.
The reasons why people change id are many, it can be that the person was using an account along with other people, or a private trader that then becomes a business and wants his id to reflect his trading name etc. I am very good at checking up on frauds, I got bitten once and that was enough for me. I am glad you got a good deal from him, the fact is he could get more if he auctioned them instead of buy now but he told me he is happy with his mark up and he wants to be known as a reasonable person with very fair prices. Anyway, I just bought an xda2 on ebay using "buy now", it is 3 weeks old in box with everything supplied, cost me £279.
i live in sheffield and got the 1st one from him sunday before xmas. went to his house and picked it up. he is 110% genuine and works for some large software company.my feed back is by wot you want on his 2nd page.grab a bargin they are brand new and sealed and i got the unlock code via o2 (for free) so if they were hookey i would have got to know!!
Orderer one as well myself. Shipped Tuesday arrived this morning. Everything as expected. Easy unclock instructions inside. I hope he'll sell me some more as I'll need to supply to some friends of mine
i bought one from this guy also ,very trustworthy, arrived 2 days later
Hi there, I need to replace my pointer for my XDAI and I'm also interested in getting one of the 'piggy-back' batteries as well.
But due to losing my job my ebay account (& unpaid fees) my ebay account was shut down so I wondered whether anyone can tell me if there are any shops that operate from the UK where I can buy either face-to-face or pay over the phone.
I had a look around on ebay but it seemed that all the listings for parts referred to the later XDA's.
Any suggestions of a shop or two, UK only mind you.
Thanks, Charles
Hi,
I have a couple of HTC-S620 smartphones with broken displays.
Does anyone know where I can buy new displays for this device type.
They seem very difficult to get...at least in Belgium where I'm from.
I can have them repaired but it's about the same price as buying a new device.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Bart Baetens.
Do a little search on eBay and you'll find it !!
Look for sellers that ship to your country.
My buddy and I each broke our Dash screens within a couple of weeks of each other.
We both purchased our replacment screens from cnn.cn (Cellular Nationwide Netowrk). http://cnn.cn/shop/dopodo2-c720-c-138_282.html?osCsid=cd113ddd02621f136d6921590443db9e
Great service, received our screens and keyboad from Hong Kong within 2 weeks.
No instuctions came with the parts, but all we needed was the You-Tube video showing us how to open the Dash.
Ebay is flooded with these screens so you can try to get them there.
Replace screen
Try pocketpctechs.com

How to change display.
I did it with success.
I would go with ebay, they are fairly cheap and not to pricey which is a good thing.
Sorry for starting yet another thread on this but i finally got around to buying one and it was very cheap, in fact the postage from Hong Kong to Ireland would probably be more than what i paid for it, has anyone purchased from this seller before on eBay, looks fine from the feedback but unless they are making these jigs for pretty much nothing im wondering how they can be making any profit?

mass production man.. don't think the chinese ones are backyard home jobs anymore... The one I got was definitely not handmade, very good quality
i got one too from ebay...very good quality and definitely not hand made.....it was worth the purchase
Cheers guys the sellers feedback is very good so that is always a good sign and for the princely sum of €1.46 you can't go wrong.
I got one from the very same seller last week, off ebay.co.uk. It took about 8 days after shipping to get to southern England. It's definitely not handmade, and it works. As you say, you can't go wrong at that price.
I have buyed this one - http://cgi.ebay.at/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280748150971 - it works als with 2.3.5 (KI8)

8 days is pretty good coming from Hong Kong i was thinking it would take a minimum of 2 weeks,i assume it'll take similar to here given our countries are beside each other.

I would think so. I guess it might go via London rather than direct to Dublin, but that shouldn't add more than a day. Also depends if Irish Customs take an interest in it - I don't think mine was opened by UK Customs, but when they do inspect something it adds a bit of delay in my experience. I think you'd have to be a bit unlucky for that to happen though.
So here's my long story short - I've placed 2 orders now for a grey P8000 and still I have no phone. My original order was on October 3rd...
Both are Chinese/HK vendors (Focal Price & iGOGO) showing stock but weeks pass and nothing happens except generic responses to my queries about delays in receiving new stock.
Eventually I just cancel my orders (unfortunately manually via PayPal claims due to a lack of cooperation from the vendors).
Now I know these vendors can be a little shady with little or no customer service but I now wonder should I just give up? It seems there's no easy way for me to get this phone (at least at the RRP)?
I've since pre-ordered the Umi Iron Pro via BangGood but I'm now doubting whether this is a good move due to a lack of development, no open sources and no 800Mhz LTE for the UK. However the design is nice, twin flash, full metal casing, better cameras, OTG support and slimmer(!) bezels.
Would welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have. Such a shame as I really thought I'd have a new gadget to tinker with by now!
Try UK seller.
Although the prices are low there waiting time plus the chance of vat hit put me of Chinese sellers.Took a punt on Ebay UK seller,a £115.99 bid excepted on Friday morning for a gold one.
Royal Mail site entered tracking number and states waiting arrival to them at 9 am yesterday,so fingers crossed should be here by Thursday.
So with the price at the moment £113.81 on Focalprice can not see the benifit of buying there, what if its faulty etc.
Hi,
why not buy it in the manufacturers shop?
I bought my phone @ "elephone DOT hk" (sorry, I am not allowed to post a link here as a fairly new user) and didn't have any problem except the price was a bit higher but no problems with delivery etc.

Thanks for replying. Can I ask the name of your eBay seller? I'm tempted by the gold metal and then buying a black battery cover off AliExpress to tone down the carbon fibre effect!

I've seen this link before: http://www.elephone.hk/online.htm
Due to the numerous links, I personally found it a bit hard to differentiate between authorised resellers, third-parties and the 'official' store.
Hi,
not 100% sure that this is the official store, but from my research it looked good and as I have received my phone I guess they aren't bad
Have a look at Dealsmachine.com. Just got mine from them. Took just one week from ordering to receive in Canada via DHL and their customs valuation was very positive in my favour !

The carbon fibre effect is actually really nice! The black cover is probably more grey but it would soften the look a bit
Well I've now cancelled my Umi Iron Pro pre-order - can anyone recommend a UK-based eBay seller?
I've used Geekbuying (based in China) on a number of occasions to purchase phones and tablets. In each case the process has been hassle free with the goods despatched around a week from the order point (assuming in stock). I'm also in UK and like the fact that the small delay in despatch is because this retailer checks the item works and configured it for the UK before sending the item out. I've always used the very cheap DHL option which means once despatched the item is with me within 3 days with full tracking on route.
I don't have any links to this company but have found them reliable.

I used Everbuying.net. I ordered in August and the phone only arrived in October, so it was at least 2 months wait. I assume they have stock now, as the phone went on special not long ago.
As mentioned above I used Everbuying with no problems and fast delivery. Just did a quick check and is on sale for less than 100.00 GBP - $149.99 US which is what I paid. Fast dispatch on gold (3-5 days) but longer on other colours (4-10 days). I assume they got a decent sized shipment and are now blowing it out. I was a little leery of them but have no complaints at all and my import cost was about 8% including DHL brokerage fee even though we have 12% tax so that gives an idea of how they valued it for customs purposes.

Thanks - I bought the grey model yesterday from their sister seller (same contact details plus also listed in Hayes) and they've emailed me this morning to say the grey is out of stock and can only offer the gold!
I've accepted the gold but would quite like a free case or something to make up for it! I do wonder if I've just been extremely unlucky so far...

The grey ones are damn nice but my partner wanted gold and have ordered the gold clock cover from Banggood.
If getting a silicon case it would hardly be noticable but then you lose the lovely look, but then you could buy a grey cover to replace the gold one.
Just checked on Elephone site and grey one for P7000 is £8.56 so P8000 one should be available soon?
Gearbest was great with me, and a friend of mine also bought one from Gearbest which arrived successfully. They had some stock issues initially but were honest about it, and my patience paid off. They usually dispatch from China after 5 days and send it through Express postage. From dispatch, it arrived within 7 days by courier. I paid $159.99 (£109 at the time), and after two months with the device, its fantastic and was worth the wait - the stock ROM was perfectly usable with a few bugs, but the Eragon ROM has completely sorted these. Knowing what I know now, ensuring a strong developer community should be a very high priority when buying a china phone.

Got a message this morning to say it's been dispatched with a Royal Mail tracking number but it's not showing on their system yet.
There's obviously a massive supply problem with the grey model and it wouldn't surprise me if these 3rd party sellers are expecting new deliveries of stock from Elephone that just keep on getting delayed?
I paid £110 and have been promised a £3(!) refund to cover the inconvenience
I'm considering buying the black battery cover though:

Black and gold might be a good look after all...

I think the gold looks decent. It's for the wife who is going to slap a purple silicone TPU on it anyway! If she complains then she can have the grey cover from my p8000!
