GrandCentral Not Working in PIE 6.1 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

For some reason, I can't seem to access GrandCentral Mobile (www.grandcentral.com/mobile) with Pocket IE in WM 6.1 (Shadow TE). When I goto the site it prompts for username and password, but when I enter and hit login it just goes back to the same login screen. If I visit the site from a desktop computer, it works fine. Anyone know what's going on?

It is posssible that if you are using the keyboard of your device, the characters you are pressing aren't the characters beinng given out.
Have you tried setting your keyboard to chinese or use the virtual keyboard instead to see what you get?
Cheers
WB

i tired using both the hardware keyboard and the virtual keyboard with no luck. i also downloaded opera mini to see if its blocked by AT&T's proxy or something, but it works with opera just fine, so it's definitely a problem with IE.

I'm using a wm6 rom but I've installed PIE6.1 and grandcentral works for me.

i'm assuming he's saying " havng problems connecting with HTTPS (secure http) and the phones not certificating properly, https uses 128bit encription and in theory it should ask you if you wish to accept a certificate blah blah usually ud just tap yes and all is good, i have no issues with online banking and encriptions, might be worth going to internet explorer tapping menu > tools > options > security and make sure everything is ticked
Thank you for the answer. I Also think its a problem with the internet explorer. But i don´t know what i can do. In the secuity option everything is taped. And please beleave me with WM 5 everything is o.k.. With WM 6 i have the problem. Witch program are you useing for banking?
You need to find out if the issues has a root certificate in your store on the PDA.
Go to the lock icon on the desktop computer ie when you connect and get the issuer name. Then on the PDA go into your certificate store and check. If the name is not there, then go to the certificate issure's website and get a root certificate, copy to PDA, double click and you should be golden.
i'm using black/blue wwe wm6 with no issue, i'm not too sure where the error is, perhaps your banks site just dosent recognise new IE on your phone and ignores it?! have you tried opera mobile might have better luck?!
Thank you for the tips.
I try the tip with the cretificates don´t help. I try opere 8.60 don´t help. I try Opera 8.65 don´t help. Opera 8.65 doesn´t work on my device wit wm6. i can install it. I start it and then finish. No way to go on a website. The only thing that i can tap on the touchscrenn is the menu bottom. So i be back at wm 5.
Thank you for your help

Network Share

Is there a way with an HTC Dash / Excalibur running WM6 Standard to access network resources on a LAN through the WIFI? I've tried looking for an option in Total Commander, and I installed the Resco Explorer 2007 trial. It seems that Resco's PocketPC version supports mapping drives, but not for the WM6 Standard. I've seen screenshots of what is available in Resco Explorer. That option is omitted for the WM6 Standard version.
I've tried ORB and Soonr. Those seem to be the only methods, but I was hoping for a more native method.
Any suggestions or advice?
Thank you,
Tim
Mapping to Home Network Share
Is this not possible on an HTC S620/S621 ? I would like to be able to map to my network shares. I could then even use Hamachi VPN to connect even if I'm away from home.
But first things first. There seems to be no way to map a drive letter, or even connect via a UNC statement of \\abc\123 ... etc.
So far the only methods I've seen are soonr and orb. I suppose it's a work around, but I was hoping for a more windows native method.
From my research, it seems that those running touch screen / windows mobile professional can do this. If they add Resco Explorer 2007 it has that option. I installed the Windows Smartphone Standard trial version, and the option doesn't exist.
Nor does it exist with Total Commander.
Thank you,

Not possible with WM6 Standard Devices?
Haven't received an answer. I've been googling for a response, but everything I've read seem to indicate that the network mapping thing is a real crippling part of these phones.
I've noticed that this seems to be a major difference between WM6 devices with touch screens, therefore running WM6 professional versus the WM6 Standard Devices.
Touchscreen WM6 Devices can map drives, use remote connectivity software, and even have more advance function in pocket office.
Non-touchscreen WM6 devices can't perform drive mappings, or use remote connectivity software like RDP or VNC.
I'd like to be able to map a drive to my network, and transfer files that way, rather than through activesync. I can't understand how I can obtain an IP using my HTC Dash's WIFI over my wireless router, but yet, not connect in any manner to the network that I have shared drives on.
If someone knows of a way, then please let me know.
Thank you,
Tim
no one has ever mapped a drive w/ the excalibur??
i have tried for months...it seems as if the phone is the big proble. it doesnt support netbios from what i have seen. on my network i can ping it by netbios name and everything from the pc end of things..but from the phone i cant see the computer by anything but ip which is fine. but i cannot acces a share or network drive via \\ip.address. no idea how you would create a share on the phone either

Maybe Microsoft's Live Mesh technology will help this. Apparently there will be a client for mobiles and could give you a way to access your files on the go. (I know this doesn't quite answer your question, but maybe helps solve the problem)
See http://channel9.msdn.com/Showpost.aspx?postid=399577 for some details
How to map a network Drive with Built in WM software.
Hey guys. I have to say the solution is so simple it is Genious.
Simply open up internet explorer on your device and type in \\SHARENAME\
IE will translate this into file://\\sharename\ and if it is password protected it will ask you for the user name and password. You will then be sent to Windows File Explorer, and Viola you are surfing your network resources. You can even save them as a favorite for later use.
I hope this helps.
That doesn't seem to do anything?? Did you get this to work in IE for wm6.1?

Virtual Keyb doesn't work with WM6 Remote Desktop

I set up a connection to our company's LAN using Bluefire VPN client. I used WM6 remote Desktop I found on this site and after successful log-in into our site I can see the first log-on screen to a server but I'm not able to write anything because the virtual keyboard doesn't work for me. I'm only able to switch between logon name, passw, domain using the stylus.
Could someone please help me to find a workaround to how to activate virtual keyb in Remote Desktop section?
Same here, but the keyboard worked in WM6.0.
Well I hoped for better feedback but I had to help myself so I reinstalled whole phone and now it works fine.

Remote desktop program

Hi,
I'm using Rickwyatt ROM V6 and is working fine however last night I downloaded ZADesktop, http://www.zatelnet.com/zadesktop/main.php , the software connects so I can type the user name but in the password field I'm not able to do it correctly, if the password has a or z the keyboard doesn't type anything, in all other applications the keyboard works as should it be, can someone try the software and see if it works properly for you?
I personally have NEVER been able to make ZADesktop work on ANY version of WinMo....5, 6 or 6.1...so I dont beleive that the damn thing works AT ALL!

how to get Stowaway BT driver work with WM6

I'm using HTC Trinity WM6 and wish to use my old Stowaway universal Bluetooth keyboard working? i cannot find driver for WM6. anyone have it?
please help!! i love my BT keyboard and wish to get it work again.
thanks
Attached is the driver I use for my Kaiser WM6/6.1, dunno if it'll work on your Trinity or not.
If not here is the drivers page: http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp. Just choose your manufacturer and model.
Note that WM6 comes with basic keyboard drivers -- you only need to install a driver if you want to use special functionality such as customized keys. I use the built-in drivers on my Kaiser with a BT keyboard (not the Stowaway, but supposedly compatible).
htc tytn II and sierra bt keyboard
everybody,
trying to connect / use my new sierra bt keyboard with my htc tytn II and nothing works,.... if i go through the htc the keyboard is detected, asks for a security code, does not recognise the one i put in, (although the instructions say pick one of your choice), and does not connect.
if i go through the keyboard CAB installed on the htc, still cannot connect,.... i am not exactly a 'newbie' but if someone could give a step by step direction on how to get this to work, i would be very grateful,....
thanks,
ek
sorry everyone, i used elyspar's CAB file on my htc tytn II,.... thanks for your help,....ek
found a vid on youtube very helpful,.... it's actually quite simple to connect, so maybe i need to retract, i am a newbie,....
here's the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8HAge9yJu4
no functionality though, just basic input, good for emails / word, but limited,....
guess i have to install the driver on my kaiser somehow,....
Hi everybody, can you tell me which driver i have to install for my Niki? It's not on the list...
Thank you very much.

I could use an Apple Alu BT KB with HTC TyTN (not II). Paired. Without any special driver. Remember to press Enter on the KB after the code. Now I have a new Touch HD and I get it paired but nothing happens clicking on the keyboard...
I will start installing drivers which I find here suggested and will report.
iGo stowaway BT keyboard and WM6
Hello all,
I originally posted this message in a Blackstone forum, but as this problem probably relates to WM6 in general I thought I would post here
I have an igo bluetooth keyboard and I am using Blackstone phone (running the usual WM6.1 proffessional. I installed the igo software and everything worked fine except that phone crashed a lot. Not so useful. I then uninstalled the software and paired the keyboard using the onboard Bluetooth keyboard drivers. All worked well for one run through and I was able to type away. However I have not got the thing to work again since, even after re-pairing the devices. Does anyone haev any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.
Tom
Hello Guys, partly not to the topic hear....
I have an igo stowaway keyboard and a travel mouse and i have been using them with my fusi n560 (wm 6.0). Now I bought a Nokia 5800 mobile phone with symbian s60v3 touch. The keyboard came with multiple driver including both wm and symbian versions, but the mause came only with wm driver. Now the question is: do you happen to know how could I use my mouse with my symbian device? Sorry for asking symbian related question here....
Special Characters and the Sierra Stowaway
I have previously used the Sierra Bluetooth Keyboard and it worked flawlessly on my T-Mobile Wing running WM5... I recently tried to port the same driver suggested by ek... (PPC5) to the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2, WM6.1.
It works on all keys, including the function keys, but cannot produce the specialty characters on the 5th, number-row, i.e., [email protected]#$%^&*()
Everything else seems to work fine... anybody come across a fix for this?
Thanks!
JSS
I've been interested in acquiring an Apple Wireless Keyboard for my PDA too.
But from skimming other people's post, looking at what was successful on the internet (e.g. the guy on youtube with the Mio who paired with the Apple BT Keyboard), it seems that all the success stories come from people running WM5/6
Anything 6.1 and above seems to not work in general, although you have some success stories like from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486595
Has anyone successfully paired with 6.1-6.5?

I have similar problems with my Samsung Omnia, WM6.1 and the German Stowaway Keyboard (QWERTZ) with the driver 4.51.
Just the keys !$& are not working.
Could there be a workaround like using ASCI numbers?
I tried ALT+33 to get a "!" but had no success.
Does anybody else has some suggestions?
Thanks,
Sigi

I solved my problem:
I installed the English driver 4.52
(I have an English ROM and use a German Keyboard)
The driver was changed from version Ger4.51 to Eng4.52 on several places and I think they solved some Bugs.
I resetted my Omnia after the installation.
Because the problem still existed, I resetted the Omnia once again, while the Stowaway keyboard was selected in the keyboard menu.
After that reset all the characters worked like the should.
Hope that helps.
