Can anybody help me to unlock my MDA Compact? I would like to use O2 sim card in this phone? There are sites but they charge huge amount Hence looking for help from you.
I would like to purchase T-mobile MDA-3 for use in the USA and Europe. Can I just put in my US simcard and will it work or does it need to be unlocked? What should I look out for? ANy suggestions would gratly be appreciated?
Most come unlocked. I just recived my MDA III, it was T-Mobile branded when I recived it. Came in a German T-Mobile Box, but my ROM was English. I bought mine through Tiger-Direct.
Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it? Also, will my current T-Mobile sim drop in and work?
The MDA3 is quad band so you should be able to use it anywhere in the world! So long as you have roaming set up on your sim you should be fine!
Not so sure about the locking though!
I am using it in the US
I have an iMate PDA2K in the US and it works just fine. T-Mobile gets a bit confused when you call tech support and their system can't automatically recognize your device, but I just tell them that I have one of their HP Windows Mobile models that they sell in the US and they seem cool with it. All I did was swap in my SIM card and it started working right away. GPRS, etc all works fine.

Hi there,
I tried to gather my info on this and other forums however I don't have the answer yet.
I am using a T-Mobile MDA III with WM5 (compliments to everyone making it possible). Because of a large number of monthly phonecalls I want to use two SIM Cards. For this I want to buy a dual sim card.
Preferably a sim card where I don't have to cut the SIMS.
Does anyone have working dual sim cards?
What is the cheapest place to buy these?
Do they work under WM5?
Do I need a Sim toolkit...etc.... is this allready available?
Does anyone know a kind of software like vivit (which makes it easy to switch?)
Thanks for your reply!
regards
Wilfried
anyone?
I have an SX66 and have had good experience with this dude called SaintJoy0_3 on ebay. maybe do a search for him. I am not sure if the Top Twin Card dual sim adapter he sells will work with your MDA III
I agree with snapper245, this guy sells the "king of Doublecard" dual sim adapter for Blue Angels on eBay. I have one & it works fine with WM2003SE. However I have not yet tried it with WM5 as I know that the software I use to switch SIMs (Wivit SSS) doesn't work with WM5. Once WM5 has a stable bluetooth (if it ever does) I'll consider upgrading
Hy, i've now the same of may old nokia6600 and it's ok
But i've w2003se.
sorry, I should have been more clear. I ran it successfully with WM5 on my BA.

wow thanks.
where did you buy the thing?
And did you have to cut the thing? Thanks for your reactions.

I'm in the U.S. and kind of confused about how everything works. If I buy an unlocked T-Mobile MDA off ebay or somewhere else, will it work with a T-Mobile UK Pay As You Go SIM card? If not is there a list somewhere that says what SIMS work with what phones/PDAs?
Hi,
I just got myself a T-mobile Artemis (dutch version).
Pretty content with it, but still figuring out how to use that internal GPS receiver. Tomtom 6 starts up but the searching for sattelite takes rather a long time and I give up in the end. (yes, QuickGPS was succesfully used)
But the GPS troubles are not my main concerns.
I live near the border between belgium and Holland and have two phones. I am going to be unlocking my Artemis using the currently only available method.
Once unlocked I'd like to be bale to put both my sim cards into my Artemis.
The only solution I could find was

and
http://www.hot-wire-telekom.de/index.php?aktion=detail&suche=HTC P3300&&asuche=HW130724
Has anyone tried this before and does it work. Any other solutions out there I should know about. And which option to go for, the digital or analog (I roughly know the difference just not how they relate to my sim cards).
I thank you all now for the help you'll give me.
Found one that works no cutting up your sim needed
Hi all,
I've got a private and company sim and have used my Magician with a Brando 10th era dual sim adapter.
Tried it with my htc p3300 and it works flawlessly. No need to cut your sims.
Only thing I have to figure out how to fit the battery cover.
For my Magician I removed a bit from the battery.
Might be possible but first will have to get me an experimenatal battery

here ya go!
I am told that GSRM (data) does not work but calls do.
Have you had any luck with data?
Robin
Actually I am guessing I meant GPRS?
