I installed TomTom 5 on my qtek 9090 and when I choose navigate to address there is no screen keyboard. I think it detected the external keyboard and therefore is not showing it.
Anyway to get the screen keyboard working ?? :?:
 Try the following...
In register of PDA..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell
Change..
HasKeyboard value from 1 to 0
To get to the register u can use the following app.
Registry Workshop from http://www.torchsoft.com
Install this on your PC and use file / Connect to register of mobile device
(Active sync must be connected to the device
Good Luck!
No luck
Didn't work
Changed > softreset >no keyboard
reinstalled >no keyboard

I have the same prob with TomTom 4.4 and my Qtec 9090.
Hope someone comes up with a fix.

No I dont have the prob anymore. Changed to 0 rebooted and changed to smaller keybord in TT 4 and there it was.

I have the same problem with TT5.
I have asked the fench support of Tomtom and they replied to me that there was no issues for this at that time.
It is due to the fact that tomtom developpers have made the choice to consider the QTEK 9090 or similars like a Keyboard PPC (like HP6500 or Treo 650) to limit the number of version... that's what they said ...
As the QTEK 9090 do show a virtual keyboard on Street Number search or on reg screens and not on Town or Street name sreens, i do think that there is actualy a bug on QTEK 9090. It is also disapointing to try to type a poste code search with the hardware keyboard as when i press the "Fn" key i got a nice "Ñ" or when i press the "Shift" i got a "Ò"...
I think we should send a lot of request to the Tomtom support to have a chance to see an update in a future relaese (It could be an option whithin the parameters for exemple...)
...
Hi,
It was even worse in my case (I upgraded my Rom 1.22.556 to 1.40.553 since release of new Dutch retail a few days ago):
- As already mentioned the Registry hack (see reply from DVB4Free) works only for 4.4 version and not 5.0. I am still looking for a work-around to get my on-screen keyboard back while I wanna type a location/street to navigate to.
- Despite the fact I am using TomTom bluetooth receiver, I can't get my Qtek9090 connected to TomTom as long as I select the TomTom BT icon in wizard interface. After a lot tries I figured out that it only works if I select the 3th Icon (general bluetooth receiver) and not the second icon (the small silver color TomTom BT receiver). Isn't this odd?
- My 'Navigate To' item in Contacts popup menu is gone for good. It was working on TomTom 3.07 (and even on 4.4 so far I can remember). But since upgrade to v 5.0 I can't navigate to someone's address from my Contact list.
regards,
- Avareh
on screen keyboard
DVB4Free, dude is there nothing you can do to fix this problem? I tried it on TomTom 4 and it worked fine, after altering the key from 1 to 0 it worked. I have an XDA 2s and now I've just installed TomTom 5 I can't navigate to anything!
Cheers!
Anyone had any luck with this yet?
Peter
Success!!!

I have found that if you download the Great_Britain.postal file the Fn & Shift keys work ok so you can enter numbers
And also the added benefit of 7 digit postcodes, not sure about ppl who cant find a postal file for their own country though. But it worked for me so give it a try...
pscomp - I am new to all this  , but just got tt5 and I also have a MDA III. Can you explain what you did to get the keys working.. Thanks in advance...not sure what you mean about the download etc...wherefrom and where too?
Hi,
I can't remember where I downloaded the file from. Ive tried to upload it but I think the ftp is down :? . But it looks like it may be here ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Blueangel/
All you do is create a folder called zip on your SD card and put the file in there. That is assuming you are using the Great Britain Map. I will keep trying to upload the file though.
Hope this helps you
Yay, got the file uploaded.
All you should need to do is download the file, unzip it and then stick it in the zip folder on your SD card.(That is assuming you are using the Great Britain Map)..
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/
The file is called GreatBritain.zip

same happens to me when I install 1calc
I bought a new TT5 UK BT kit that arrived yesterday.
I (obviously) have the ZIP file on the SD card and I still don't have an onscreen keyboard. The odd thing is, I'm pretty sure I did have an onscreen keyboard during the installation, as I used it to enter my "home" location.
I've logged a bug report with TomTom, if they come back with anything useful I'll let you know.
Q.
Hi guys,
First of all - I'm very glad to be here. On the last few days I red a couple of threads (a very lot of) but now I would like to ask two questions...
1.)
When I install MS Voice Command 1.6 (German Version) with AX3L_WM6_WWE_v2.0.8.1 Image, all is the voice stuff recognition stuff is working, but the announcments of incoming calls und mails are not. For sure I have activated this feature in settings dialog. There was a post around in this forum about the replacing of files (I did - but doesn't work)
By the way I have the newsest version of Voice Command but still not working. (is is a global wm6 issue with this product or only image related?)
2.)
Sometimes if I try to turn bluetooth on it doesn't... only after a warm reboot Bluetooth works. I know this problem from my old HP hx4700. Is this only a specific Image problem, or is this normal on today's images?
EDIT: Of course I red also the threads about this specific problem.. but before testing all cooked roms - is it in gerneral a problem with bluetooth turning on?
Thanks,
kind regards,
Pinocchios
sorry for my bad english - I'm austrian
I am having the same problem trying to get WM6 and VC 1.6 to announce incoming call.
Bluetooth and GPRS issue solved
Hi there,
My problem (described above) is solved now. I read an article about a memory leak in SPB Mobile Shell.. And yes, when I turn off the TODAY plugin (program starter, weather preview) I can turn on Bluetooth when a celular data connection is established.
It's reproduceable.. the today plugin consumes too much memory.
(the now screen turned on from mobile shell will function as usual)
I am not able to install MS Voice command 1.6. It gives an error during the installation concerning the certificates etc... The install is then terminated. What should I do?
Thanks
I still can't get voice command 1.6 to announce incoming call on any trinity wm6 rom. not on the bluetooth headset and not on the device speaker. did you succeed?
No - I can't get it working.
seems as microsoft have to develop this product for wm6
Hi there,
I have the v1.6.17919 on the earlys Ger WM6 bepe rom in use and I'am surprice to tell you that the incomming calls where brought to me over the internal speaker!!!! Thats a cool feature, to here the name of the person that is calling!!!
Lalle
Hi
really?? I have tried bepe's newest rom, but there's an issue with active sync.. the exchange server sync get stuck and after an reboot of the mobile device, windows doesn't continue to boot - I just see windows mobile screen.
.. with other images is no problem..
.. another question... VOIP is working in bepe's rom?
on AX3L I can't get it working. there is only noise coming from the internal speaker.
regards,
Pinocchios
I installed MS Voice Command for a little while on WM6 (official release) but I found it to be pretty useless, don't know if it was because it was WM6 as I haven't used MS Voice Command on WM5. Anyway, switched back to Cyberon Voice Commander for the mean time, maybe when microsoft release a new version I will look at trying it again.
hi all..
I downloaded Missing Sync 4 for Mac and installed. Then upgraded my Tytn to WM6.
Now I'd like to sync all my contacts and to do with my mac, but I can't. the system can't see the phone both with USB connection and Bluetooth (while connected with cable the Tytn recharge correctly, with Bluetooth I can send files between the two. so seems there are no problem..)
can someone help me?
tks a lot..
http://forums.markspace.com/viewtopic.php?t=533
read this! then i should work. i have schaps3.60 and it works perfect for me.
regards chief
Yeah, try that. I have MBP (Intel), WM6 Black X, 8525 - working fine with Missing Sync 4.0
Hi!
Is there a way to get the swedish lethers "ÅÄÖ" to my Blue Angel Hardkeyboard?
thx for the help
I got some driver for my qtek 9090.
These did also give åäö on a friends iPaq so i guess its universal.
http://rapidshare.com/files/91599552/Nordic_keyboard.rar.html
should be possible to use on the hardwarekeyboard also
when entering with pen, keyboard input needs to be selected, does not recognize handwritten.
I'm using HTC Trinity WM6 and wish to use my old Stowaway universal Bluetooth keyboard working? i cannot find driver for WM6. anyone have it?
please help!! i love my BT keyboard and wish to get it work again.
thanks
Attached is the driver I use for my Kaiser WM6/6.1, dunno if it'll work on your Trinity or not.
If not here is the drivers page: http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp. Just choose your manufacturer and model.
Note that WM6 comes with basic keyboard drivers -- you only need to install a driver if you want to use special functionality such as customized keys. I use the built-in drivers on my Kaiser with a BT keyboard (not the Stowaway, but supposedly compatible).
htc tytn II and sierra bt keyboard
everybody,
trying to connect / use my new sierra bt keyboard with my htc tytn II and nothing works,.... if i go through the htc the keyboard is detected, asks for a security code, does not recognise the one i put in, (although the instructions say pick one of your choice), and does not connect.
if i go through the keyboard CAB installed on the htc, still cannot connect,.... i am not exactly a 'newbie' but if someone could give a step by step direction on how to get this to work, i would be very grateful,....
thanks,
ek
sorry everyone, i used elyspar's CAB file on my htc tytn II,.... thanks for your help,....ek
found a vid on youtube very helpful,.... it's actually quite simple to connect, so maybe i need to retract, i am a newbie,....
here's the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8HAge9yJu4
no functionality though, just basic input, good for emails / word, but limited,....
guess i have to install the driver on my kaiser somehow,....
Hi everybody, can you tell me which driver i have to install for my Niki? It's not on the list...
Thank you very much.

I could use an Apple Alu BT KB with HTC TyTN (not II). Paired. Without any special driver. Remember to press Enter on the KB after the code. Now I have a new Touch HD and I get it paired but nothing happens clicking on the keyboard...
I will start installing drivers which I find here suggested and will report.
iGo stowaway BT keyboard and WM6
Hello all,
I originally posted this message in a Blackstone forum, but as this problem probably relates to WM6 in general I thought I would post here
I have an igo bluetooth keyboard and I am using Blackstone phone (running the usual WM6.1 proffessional. I installed the igo software and everything worked fine except that phone crashed a lot. Not so useful. I then uninstalled the software and paired the keyboard using the onboard Bluetooth keyboard drivers. All worked well for one run through and I was able to type away. However I have not got the thing to work again since, even after re-pairing the devices. Does anyone haev any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.
Tom
Hello Guys, partly not to the topic hear....
I have an igo stowaway keyboard and a travel mouse and i have been using them with my fusi n560 (wm 6.0). Now I bought a Nokia 5800 mobile phone with symbian s60v3 touch. The keyboard came with multiple driver including both wm and symbian versions, but the mause came only with wm driver. Now the question is: do you happen to know how could I use my mouse with my symbian device? Sorry for asking symbian related question here....
Special Characters and the Sierra Stowaway
I have previously used the Sierra Bluetooth Keyboard and it worked flawlessly on my T-Mobile Wing running WM5... I recently tried to port the same driver suggested by ek... (PPC5) to the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2, WM6.1.
It works on all keys, including the function keys, but cannot produce the specialty characters on the 5th, number-row, i.e., [email protected]#$%^&*()
Everything else seems to work fine... anybody come across a fix for this?
Thanks!
JSS
I've been interested in acquiring an Apple Wireless Keyboard for my PDA too.
But from skimming other people's post, looking at what was successful on the internet (e.g. the guy on youtube with the Mio who paired with the Apple BT Keyboard), it seems that all the success stories come from people running WM5/6
Anything 6.1 and above seems to not work in general, although you have some success stories like from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486595
Has anyone successfully paired with 6.1-6.5?

I have similar problems with my Samsung Omnia, WM6.1 and the German Stowaway Keyboard (QWERTZ) with the driver 4.51.
Just the keys !$& are not working.
Could there be a workaround like using ASCI numbers?
I tried ALT+33 to get a "!" but had no success.
Does anybody else has some suggestions?
Thanks,
Sigi

I solved my problem:
I installed the English driver 4.52
(I have an English ROM and use a German Keyboard)
The driver was changed from version Ger4.51 to Eng4.52 on several places and I think they solved some Bugs.
I resetted my Omnia after the installation.
Because the problem still existed, I resetted the Omnia once again, while the Stowaway keyboard was selected in the keyboard menu.
After that reset all the characters worked like the should.
Hope that helps.
