hello all, i regularly follow threads for x01HT SOFTBANK
i faced some problem with mobile so needed to revert all back to original softbank japanese release
if this is duplicated, please ignore, excuse. posting this just incase anyone may need....
The release is based on RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10.exe and RUU_X01HT_1.33.762_Xbow
Extract the zip to a folder, run ROMUpgradeUT.exe, it will install original rom....have patience
All credit to everyone who posted solutions in the forum, i only managed to do it successfully & sharing it, so persons like me in need, may not need to go through all search and customize...

how to undo a rom modification

first of all i'm sorry for this question
I'm really a beginner in modifying my extended-rom. I want to change my mda to a "xda". i've got the latest updates and some of the software discussed on this site but there is one question left:
Just in case i make a mistake while modifying my (extended)-rom: can i repair everything by simply installing the original update provided by t-mobile??
Thanks for any answers, help, suggestions,...
Andi
Simple answer: YES.
Before you start 'modifying the rom' or 'upgrade' you should make sure you have an upgrade package from the original operator for the rare ocasion you need to go back (then you can upgrade it back to something they will recognize. Imagine how T-Mobile personell will look at an MDAII that has all the O2 stuff on it).
In your case: Make sure you have the T-Mobile 1.72.190 rom upgrade at hand while you upgrade to a O2 rom

lets open an audiovox 4100 section

i don’t see why we shouldn’t open a section for the 4100 here. A lot of the developments that goes on here also work on the 4100.
I have done some research on it and so far I found out that the ppc4100 use 2 file to flash the rom one is the boot and the other is the WM image just like the others do. Now both of those files are nb0 format and can be extracted with dumprom.exe which is available here. It can flashed back on the ppc4100 using a flash card to hold the image and triggering it by booting with the bootstrap.
Wish list
to edit the image file ( to change certain files)
to compile the extracted files from the rom ( to customize the rom with new programs or to custom update to a newer operating system )
what does anyone think?
u can change the press icon on the 4100 its located in a file called bobo.exe in the windows folder.
see? its almost the same there is very little change i think we need to sit down for a little while and think about how good this will do.
it will bring in more readers that would like to read about the 4100 thus u will generate more traffic that also will generate more donations
so pls i dont know how to get the athoraty's attentions here at least concider it
or comment
thanks
I am very intersted in the 4100 development as well.. I was hoping someone in here or maybe a few would be interested in sharing some knowledge and possible experience. I have done a lot of research and played around quite a bit with this over the last week using various XDA tools as well as hex editor, ect. If anyone would be interested in helping please post us here.
hey jr97ai. might as well start posting here maybe we will catch someone's attention and they will declare the ppc4100 a worthy of this site
---------------
the original rom files for the 4100 are the currunt morst recent update from at& however, both files are *.bn0 extention. as follows.
SP_E0402_230A.nb0
SP_K1112_230A.nb0
i recieved those files from audiovox a little while ago. jr97ai and myself have been working on this and have extracted the files out of the romfiles with the use of dumprom.exe. (great app by the way). i think jr97ai knows alot more about this than i do and can explain a little better.
i will attach the bootstrap rom file along with a letter that came with the cd that was sent from audiovox. i can attach the rom file as soon as i free up my bandwith
I have been playing around with mkrom and have been experiencing some problems. as it says on mkrom its not the most user friendly program. no its not, not at all, not even close. but i still try anyways lost but still trying.
if anyone can somehow point us to a direction it coul dbe verry helpful.
there might be a possibility tto use the exsisting xda WMse existing rom to use on the 4100. they seem to be similar. they do use the same operating windows after all.
well i tryed to post the rom file many times it didnt work. its uploaded in the ftp if someone can post it.
every time i try to post it shows this err.
Upload Error: Could not upload Attachment to ./files/sp_k1112_230a.rar
question to anyone who can answer.
to change the operating system from win2003 to 2003se wouldi need to change the bootstrap as well?
i am thinking i could use a nb1 and rename it to nb0 it should be the same.
if you would like to see a new section appear for the audiovox 4100 please post saying so. maybe that will gets omeone's attention.
we got 60 views and only 2 ppl have posted.
ok .. so the rom for the 4100 is in the xda ftp sire. the file is called SP_K1112_230A.rar under ppc 4100

im working with audiovox ppc4100 , and if u wanna dump with rom for make permenent rill file and dont losse it when u make a hard reset ,,i think the best solution its when u replace rill u can make a completat backup in a sd card then when u have to make a hard reset u can restore your backup and all will work ok...by the way i have working well mms, photo contacts , npencil , ms money , etc.
not jsut the rilgsm
now that we are able to flash the rom to the ppc4100 i am thinking we could change the operationg system. i am running towards the wm2003 se . i am trying to look for a basic rom nb1 format so i can try to flash it.
i am thinkiing it will work but i am worried about the phone part of the ppc.
do u have any thoughts on this?

Vodafone Rom

Hi
Is there a UK vodafone ROM for the BA. My provider is vodafone and it would nice to have the correct settingd for my BA, instead of usinf the T-Mobile rom.
Thanks
Lordao
Someone (not me) dumped the ROM here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Blueangel/Vodafone_VPx_1.22.nb1
Read the wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel for details of how to use this file.
Hope this helps!
hi
Thanks for that, but i don't seem to have permissions to get into that directory.
Regards
Lordao
hi
i got the rom, the extension is different to what i expected, do i have to use a different loader for this, as changing the extension from nb1 to nbf did not work.
Thanks
Lordao
Look at this first..
Hi Lordeo..
Do youself a favour.. Look at this..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_GettingStarted
After, have a quick look at this..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Versions
As you can see, there's no direct UK Vodafone ROM available however, you can look at upgrading your Rom to the highest here..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.42.00_Upgrade
Then applying the UK Vodafone MMS, GPRS and SMS settings from a post I authored a while ago by clicking here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=32437
Ok, the downside here is that you'll have what is essentally a T-Mobile branded phone..
Lastly, there's always the option of upgrading to WM5.. See here..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
If you do decide to go ahead with this, please read part of a post I authored a couple of days ago.. It states..
General Tips to you (and others)..
If you do want to update or upgrade then make sure you read everything through first.. Make sure you're happy in doing it.. Perhaps use the search function to read through others comments.. I would also recommend reading others comments about trying to downgrade from WM5 to WM2003SE to see what others have encountered
You will not believe the amount of people who end up posting questions when they've not followed the instructions from Wiki that I've pasted for you here..
Finally, if you are stuck, use the search command and describe your problem in the Keywords section, select Blue Angel from the Category and read through the posts relating to it before posting questions..
I think that's everything..?
Goodnight!
Restoring ROM dump
Take a look at this thread: http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=151&PN=1 at the end of the first posting there is a brief section entitled How to Restore. Copy the .nb1 file onto an SD card and follow the instructions in the post to restore. Good luck!
thanks for all the info.
for some reason the rom backup file would not automatically install from the SD. oh well. i went to wm5 very nice but i can not get my gps to pair correctly with bluetooth, back to the t-mobile rom at least tom tom works with 2003 correctly
Lordao

OK, I'm lost.

Hey guys,
I swear I must be retarded or something.
Been looking to upgrade to WM6 for a while now, and decided to throw on Black V2.5.
But, I'm also seeing further things such as radio, bootloader, HardSPL etc.
Are these necessary?
If someone can basically add me on MSN and talk me through it, if it's not too tricky, that'd be awesome...
If not, then I'm guessing, I can hook the phone to my PC, flash Black on to it, then copy over the .cab files and run them from the device?
S**t the bed...

Firstly, welcome to the Forum
1-Sync your mobile with your PC
2-(Assuming the Cab File is on your PC). Drag this file to a folder on your mobile, eg /Program Files.
3-Using File Explorer, from your mobile, locate this file and run it on your mobile. This will auto install the file.
Secondly, you must Read the WIKI before you decide to install any ROM. This will eliminate the need to ask questions that have already been covered on the subject. MR VANX has written an excellent guide on upgrading your ROM, see last post above your request, and the guide is regularly updated. (thanks for all your good work MR VANX).
I am also fairly new to upgrading and extensively read the guide and followed all instructions. I have now successfully uploaded many ROM's. (Many thanks to all the CHEFS for their dedication and commitment, please keep the ROM's coming).
Good Luck.

Thanks i will spend some time reading more the WIKI , i got the cabs loaded just ran out of room for them all
Hi, welcome to the forum.
Appreciate you ran out of room for all of your cabs, this forum does contain a lot of very useful things,(Thanks Chefs), & if you think you are going to need some again & again, put the most useful cabs on your storage card & then install them to your device. (just in case you keep flashing, as it becomes addictive)
Sorry, already answered

Authenticity of “Official” WM6 ROM & Step by Step Guide

Can anyone provide these answers before I ever risk installing this:
What are the origins of this "Official" ROM to make it be classed as an "Official" HTC ROM as there is nothing mentioned on HTC support website?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Also, as a suggestion could the ROM list page (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...inity_Upgrades) be updated to reflect the flurry of recent releases of ROMs in the forum over the last few weeks inc. this one?
2) Which of these is the correct one to use on for upgrading from Orange SPV M700 Wm5 as after reading the threads I have: TRIN_WM6.rar, TRIN_WM6_FLASHER.rar, Official_WM6.rar.
3) If there are patches / upgrades required for this e.g. HTC_VideoCallPatch_vX.cab, Microsoft_Office_Mobile_6.1.cab could I suggest they be all be culminated on a special page for this ROM if this is to be the baseline ROM for future developments / tweaks as these files are scattered all over the forum at present.
4) Any chance an experienced flasher could create a "Step by Step Guide" from an Orange SPV M700 Wm5 locked to an WM6 Official install (inc. Orange Settings / Customisations etc.) unlocked that includes creating a ROM backup of your own phone prior to installing, so you can switch back? - I have read the posts / threads and have yet to find a definitive page on all this.
Just a thought..... as it would help novices and cut down posts to relevant questions and not the same old inquiries.
Cheers
Hawk
Yeah we noob need some steb by steb guide(for vista though)
it was stated in the first mention of this rom that the poster wouldn't be answering questions about it.. so there's not much people can tell you about where it came from, etc.
the cabs may or may not be accumulated because there's nothing to suggest that this ROM will be the basis of future developments. The build is older than current WM6 ROMs on this forum.. better read a bit more to get the big picture.
can't tell you which one is the right .rar file to flash, but you won't find a step by step guide. Essentially, go get hard-spl and run the RUU to install it on your phone. Then manually enter the bootloader and while connected via USB run the RUU for the ROM you want to flash.
I don't use vista, so can't say much about the connection problems but there are MANY MANY posts about it, so i suggest you get searching.
happy flashing
