New Home Screen - HTC Excalibur

Would anyone be willing to make me a home screen for my T-Mobile Dash? It has windows mobile 6. Here is what I desgined on Home Screen Builder. I just don't know how to make it into a file to be a homescreen, so if anyone is willing to do that for me it would be greatly appreciated. Here is what I designed.

With home screen builder you can't make the top and bottom strip black, so if you could do that with whatever program you use that would be awesome, if not, don't worry about it. Thanks for your help.

You should be able to build the homescreen like you want, then save it. This should create a .home.xml file which you can edit using notepad or wordpad or whatever you like.
Find the name="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT" entry and change the value to: value="#000000"
Save it then load it back in homescreenbuilder. You should now see the menus black. Build the CAB and install it on your phone.
Hopefully this helps

You can also search for Blackgradients cab. some where in the threads, it's quite simple to use just install and voila!!

Bottom softbar blocking java apps

For some reason, and this is only after I upgraded to kavana's 6.1 ROM, a few java apps are being cut off by the bottom bar. The first two I've noticed so far as jmIRC and Virca. The text is cut off by the bottom softbar and is not visable until other people (or yourself) types about 4 more lines of text. This is really annoying and makes the app pretty much unusable since you can't see what people are typing until other people start typing things as well. I'll see if I can upload a screenshot from my phone sometime today.
I have a similar issue with the GMail application. When I try to use the options, the bottom softbar blocks the pop up windows for commands, and I'm unable to use it properly.
Here is the picture of my screen when trying to use the app. There is probably 3 or 4 more lines of text that you cannot see for the bottom bar.

I noticed you were using that crappy irc client, i reccomend zsIrc, google it and get the zip not the cab, as the cab won't install, also its for ppc so ya can't set anything up in the menus, but there is a .ini file that is fairly simple to edit and set up all your settings..
good luck.
It's to do with the version of jbed on the phone there is a thread about Google Java app that says about this

taskbar in a program?

Hi
One doubt.
Is it possible to use the taskbar menu in a program to change between programs without pressing the OK or home buttons to go to the today screen and then change? This is really annoying and I remember some PDAs with WM2003 and this feature.

I was a fan of "Magic Button" for a long time, but WkTask is the better Taskmanager - and its freeware too.

Greetings,
nick
No, im looking for something more simple
For example
You push one button or one icon near to the X/ok button, and appears a menu with all the programs, to avoid go to the today, and then use the taskbar to go to other program.
wktask gives a more complicated way if you have 10 applications at the same time

Setting up a wallpaper

I did a search and continue to look around, but can't seem to find the right one.
I have an image that I wish to use as a background. However, the problem is, it seems to crop down the image (select a part I wish to use as my background). I don't want to crop it down. I want to use the full scale of the image. Is there anyway for me to do this? Or, do I have to modify it on Photoshop so it fits perfectly fine on My Touch G3 phone.
I hope someone is willing to resolve this issue for me and/or point me to the right direction.
if you post the wallpaper i will resize it for you
Can you tell me the dimension?

Try This
Try searching this site for the G1 template. I found it about a year ago. It opens up in Photoshop, but once you open it up, you place your picture in the template and it fits perfectly on your phone. Works for G1 and mytouch.
If I'm correct, you'll need a wallpaper size of 640x480 pixels and any multiples of that should also work. Bottom line, you should get a wallpaper with a 4:3 ratio. Correct me if i'm wrong though
isnt there anyay to set wllpaper of 360*480 so that the wallpaper doesnt scroll and set fixed?
no1???????
Use the app, Wallpaper Set and Save, just select the image and it makes it the wallpaper

Rearrange tabs (even the home tab)

Hi guys,
after 4 hours of searching and also trying to modify the arrangement of the manilla tabs I gave up.
(current rom: BlackstoneHenge with Windows mobile 6.5 and Sense 2.1)
I would like to unlock the home tab so that I can put it for example on the 6th place. How can I do this?
Greetz
Update: Does anyone have a damn clue how to do this? This would be great.. I can finish my "htc desire" theme in this way.
*update: It can be done by using a registery editor..
My next problem is to reconfigure the HOME page (as default). At the moment, when the home button is pressed, it goes to the most left tab.

what regs did you change to put your home tab in the middle like that?
Can you share that wallpaper?
@ fr3sh_t0_d3f:
I used Mobile Registery Editor to acces the register of my phone.
(I attached the tool for you). Make sure ActiveSync is on.
Maybe you have an idea how to set the default page on home. Each time you unlock the phone the first page will be the tab on the most left side.
@ emd:
I got it from BlackStonHenge his rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=616294
(Just scroll down till you see Desire Theme)
You will need manilla 2.1 and wm6.5.
I will try to extract the wallpaper for you
Thanks. But i dont know how to make the home button actually go to Home. i tried a couple of different things but they didn't work
I cant help you here, but thanks for the tip. moving the home tab to the middle is quite a neat trick as you only have to slide half as much to acess all tabs.
Thanks for that.

Twitodo

hey guys
I'm kinda new to programming, done a bit at college and now and then i read up about it at home but i know the very basic skills. anyways i thought i would test myself and see i could come up with an idea for an app.
its not a windows mobile app but i suppose in a way its for developers (can save progress of development and tweet it to followers). the app is called twitodo and it basically saves a todo list to a txt file in the install directory. it can also open a text file from a custom directory. it can also tweet the todo list to your twitter account and you have the option to view twitter in a browser window.
the ui is ok i suppose but it could be alot nicer.. would apreciate it if someone could do a few graphics for me. also if anyone has a link to a good guide for making installers because im not sure that my program install correctly, i think you may have to run it from the program files directory.
anyways feedback will be apreciated very much, anything i can add or remove at all just leave below please i really wanna make this app better, but go easy its my first program unless you count "hello world" then its my second lol.
EDIT:
Changes:
permissions to write file at startup fixed (moved TodoList.txt default location)
fixed crash when user doesnt select a file in load todo list window
Attached Files Updates!
just thort id put a pic of the ui on so u can see what it looks like
