I just got a G3 HTC WIzard(Cingular 8125) without a cingular sim card. I currently use Centennial Wireless and was wondering if it was possible to unlock it without a cingular sim. I did try using lokawiz but I could never get the .cab file to transfer over. Another problem I have is that when I turn on the phone with my Centennial sim and with no sim it hangs on the windows mobile screen and just has a loading icon. Also though it says device unlocked. I don't have much experience with phones and this is really confusing me.

Hi
I have an O2 XDA2 with ROM 1.72.00WWE and Radio 1.17.00, and I've just used xda2unlock v2.2 to get rid of the SIMlock. It appeared to work and I'm not asked for any code when I put a new SIM in, but I get no signal whatsoever. If I put the original O2 SIM back it works fine.
I've tried a Vodafone SIM and Fresh SIM (Fresh is from the Carphone Warehouse, and I believe it uses the T-Mobile network) and it does the same with both. Any help would be much appreciated!

I think you need to TURN OFF the flightmode. Just klick in the homescreen at the symbol, where you should see the signal and waite some seconds. Now you should be able to TURN OFF the flight mode. If it doesn't work, do a Softreset.
Heh, no thats definately not the problem!
I've now sucessfully installed WM2003SE, and still no luck. I'm wondering if its anything to do with the Network options in the Phone Settings, but with the new SIM cards inserted I can't access the settings - "Unable to read settings from the network...".
This is very frustrating because after my contract finished next week I don't want to go back to O2. I thought that once I unlocked the XDA 2 all would be fine, and I can't think what is stopping these SIM cards working :-(

Hi,
I've tried both the 1.5 and 1.6 unlockers and both report success. I have fitted a Vodafone sim and both the sim and network are recognised.
However, if I try making a call the screen shows 'Dialing..' then goes straight to 'Call ended'. If I try phoning the Vodafone number then it is reported as unable to connect. I have tried both soft and hard reset.
The Vodafone sim is valid and works fine in another phone (I no longer have the original O2 sim , it was on a company contract that has been cancelled).
Do I need to set anything to use the Vodafone network or any ideas on gettting this running as a phone again?
Thanks.
Just noticed that under Phone Settings it says Phone Number: Not Available...?

did you try hard reset ???
Yep, hard reset at least 3 times now. I've also used the PIN to lock and unlock the SIM so the XDA and SIM are talking.

hi everyone..
can someone help?
i have a new sim card from a german provider (moobicent), who offer HSDPA flatrate using vodafone's network.
i insert the sim card in a normal nokia mobile phone, enter my PIN and the phone (as to be expected), logs into the vodafone network.
i insert the SIM into my HTC hermes (of course it's unlocked - it's also running the ROM TNT Pro 2), when i put in the PIN, the phone looks for network and after approx 300 seconds, i get the PIN screen again.
can anybody tell me why my Hermes won't logon to the network? (i have used all sorts of SIMS from various providers, never with any problems).
HELP!
thanks & regards.
Hello all,
I am new here, My name is Lewis, and you all seem like a very clever bunch of people. So i was wondering if you could give me some help with my Defy.
So here we go:
I bought my Defy last week after my Nokia died, it is second hand, and was locked and branded to T-Mobile (UK). I got it unlocked a few days ago, and it unlocked straight the way with the 1st code. So i assumed all was well. After trying to send a message, i realized that it was stuck in 'Emergency Call Only'. After a bit of searching around the interweb, i found that i had to check my APN Settings. The sim card i have is with Tesco Mobile, so i found out the APN settings and all seemed fine. I have tried hard reseting the phone, but still no luck.
It is all standard, so do i have to do any flashing to get it to have signal? Thank you for your help in Advance.
Motorola Defy
Locked to T-mobile
Unlocked to work with Tesco Mobile sim (O2 masts)
4GB memory card
All default.
Edit: When I 1st put the Sim Card in, it has signal for a few seconds before reverting to emergency calls only.

Is there a way to free sim unlock my HTC Wildfire?

Well my brother has a ZTE Racer and found a website via google that makes your phone sim free for free (lol) but i dunno if theres a site like it for htc mobiles
HTC wildfire
Hope someone can help!
I got my brother in law htc wildfire.
And got a code to open it up to any network.
We got the code from an internet site called GSMliberty, the code has worked to a degree.
It receives calls and can make them, the time is right, and the internet works over wi-fi of course.
But it will not connect to the internet on its own ie 3g.
The phone was locked to 3 and I have tried 2 different sim cards in, orange and t-mobile, both have unlimited data plans.
I have changed the apn setting to match each network/carrier and all I get is connection failed.
I have called and emailed the code people who say it is down to the data set up.
I have been in touch with t-mobile his the network/carrier he wants and they have talked us through it, as have htc help centre but to no avail.
However if we put a 3 sim back in, it connects to the internet, swap it back and change the internet setting to the network required and won't work.
Does anyone have any ideas or help?
It has not been rooted or messed with, just the unlock code.
Kindest regards
Shaun

you may have to try give a different unlock code a bash pal.
