Hey 2 all!
I have a problem with the HTC Network Plugin on my WM 6 rom:
I trun on WLAN: works fine (access to the internet...)
Browsing the network looks like:
-Network Neighborhood
+FREENAS
Registertab Map drive:
Remote Path: \\192.168.x.x\nas
Local Name: MYNetwork
Selecting "Map Drive" causes an error message:
Map drive failed.
To my setting:
I can ping the ip address of my "Freenas" server from my mobile, but I don't know why I couldn't map the drive.
Any suggestions?
PS: If somebody finds a spelling mistake - he can keep it ;-)
Same issue with openfiler too. It prompts me for username/password/domain with other PCs, but with openfiler it doesn't do anything. Perhaps it is a Samba issue?

is there ant tv remote software that works with the blue angel
cheers guys
the Tomtom POI databases are available free from here:

Setting up Wifi should me just turning it on and changing the WEP key if used. If you are using MAC address authentification it get's a little trickier - you have firs to connect to any access point to see your MAC address - tap on the wifi icon bottom right ot see it. then enter that into you AP access list.
Bizarely the OS doesn't support network browsing so to actually use the connectivity you'll need soemthing like http://www.resco-net.com/explorer.asp
Can't help with RC software though.
Good luck
Peter
I browse the shares on my PC when using WI-Fi connection by just typing a standard UNC path into the IE address bar.
i.e. \\PCNAME\SHARENAME
works a treat, may ask you for authentication depending on what OS your PC is and your domain/workgroup setup
For PC Remote control, try typing the PC name into the Terminal Serice Client once on the network.
Hi all,
I've just got my XDAIIs and am just playing about with it before I start loading all my apps and syncing with outlook.
I've got the Wifi working with my home access point (with encryption).
When I try and use Terminal Service to remote desktop to my pc it trys to dial-up to O2 Active GPRS - why won't it use the wifi connection thats enabled? I can ping the pc via hostname and ip fine though.
By the way, the XDIIs is setup for use on O2 as standard (it's a brand new contract phone).
Any ideas? ANy help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
i think if you change the type of network from internet to work on the xda iis, then it might work.
I had a similar problem with activesync over wifi and had to set network card to work to get it to connect.
I tried that and it was still doing the same.
For atest I deleted all connection settings.
Then Terminal Services told me that I HAD to create a VPN connection setting for the server I'm connecting to. I did this but it kept faling when trying to connect with user/pass error.
I then thought I'd try the IP address of my machine instead of the hostname - This worked straight away!!
So does Terminal Services not like hostnames? I was hoping to connect to my server when I'm away from home using my no-ip address.
Does anyone have a similar setup or can shed any light on this?
Many thanks
DOH!
Just realised I should be using the fully qualified hostname rather than just the pc name.
i.e.
"server.uniquetouch.local" instead of just "server"
"athlon1400.uniquetouch.local" instead of just "athlon1400"
"pentium4.uniquetouch.local" instead of just "pentium4"
"dell.uniquetouch.local" instead of just "dell"
Now that I've got that bit working, I'm going to add the O2 GPRS connection settings back in and see if it still works.
Have you tried pocketVNC yet?? im just about to install it as i run vnc on all our system instead of terminal services
I also recommend VNC viewer.
It acts, amongst others, as a remote control to my windows media player & winamp on my media server.
You can find it all over the place, but here is 1 link:

Hi, dears!
Q: why I can not use my wireless networks?!
I have two type of wireless network.
I can use both of this networks in my laptop, but I am confused and tired of retrying more and again and again in pocket pc.
===========================
First network is in our faculty:
1- Proxy Server (that will be set in pc in: InternetExplorer/Tools/InternetOptions/Connection/LanSetting/)
Address:192.168.12.20 Port:8080
2- And not any more setting is required in this network!
-----------------------------------
Second, in our dormitory:
1- Proxy Server (that will be set in pc in: InternetExplorer/Tools/InternetOptions/Connection/LanSetting/)
Address:192.168.0.1 Port:8080
2- In this network anyone has an specific IP for Wireless
Mine is:
IP: 192.168.0.188
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.188
(You maybe know it better than me that this configuration must be set in wireless properties in PC)
3- This network also use user-password that when I open opera or InternetExplorer (In PC), it will ask me for them:
suppose it is: user: 1111 and password: 2222
----------------------------------
In PC, I use both of this networks successfully.
Also I can connect both of them in ppc, (PPC show me "connected"!)
BUT! I cant not use this "connected" network in IE or Opera in PPC, Why?
I am really confused and tired.
----------------------------------
Now, who know what I must do?
Help Me, Just Step By Step!

I don't know what kind of more info is needed for describong device situation!
1. Setings-Conections-Conections-Advanced-Select Networks from My ISP changed it to My Work Network, select Edit button Proxy Setings to go and check on This network conects to the Internet button and then OK.
2. In Wifi settings on the card again in Conections (the icon is Wifi) Network Adapters to select The Internet. Ok. Wifi-and restarts it.
Good luck.
Dear, SPGI!
First thank you for answering.
Altought I did many test on this ways before, but I removed all old configurations first, and then I did your advice, but not worked!
I am often (and now) in Dormitory. In dormitory wireless network when I try to load any site IE shows this error: " The page connot be found. Check the name and try again", What is the matter? (In PC in this moment IE must show user-pass window!)
I saw some problem in wireless in this pags that their text was very onfusing for me!

Can I ask, those phone are same as mine? or they have another problem. becuase (I said) I can connect wireless, (altought it is useless yet) but it seems they can not turn their wireless or semi-problems.
-----
Everyone I restart my phone, it shows a message that had not set any data connection, why?
In Setting/Connection/Connection/Manage existing connections/Proxy Setting/Advanced/HTTP/
(I set dormitory wireless network server as 192.168.0.1 and port as 8080 there.)
There are username and passoword also that I think it must be instead of user-pass login that IE in PC will show when I Open IE. But I don not know what is the domain?
Then, If user-pass must be set here, what is the domain?
And if not: where it must be set?
Also, I found this In Setting/Connection/WiFi/Network Adapter/SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter:
IP and Subnet mask and Default gateway.
I've been trying to get my Galaxy Nexus to connect to a remote VPN for the past few days now, and have been having some issues.
Worth mentioning, the PPTP VPN server is hosted by a Linksys WRT54G running DDWRT, and is verified to be working properly. (My Windows 7 x64 PC using a Wind Datastick can connect to the VPN, and everything works as expected)
However, I seem to be having some problems getting my Gnex to play nicely with the remote network, and have been experiencing the following issues:
If I select the "PPP Encryption (MPPE)" checkbox, the phone will not connect to the VPN. It reports "Unsuccessful"
If I deselect the "PPP Encryption" checkbox, the phone will connect to the VPN, however I cannot seem to access the internet via the remote gateway, and do not seem to be able to access any resources on the remote LAN (as best as I can tell anyway). The status window on my phone shows packets going out, but received traffic stalls at around 30 packets or so.
I was stumped.
I did some googling, and found a reference to adding the following lines to the routers startup script which supposedly would make it work with MPPE encryption:
cat /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd | grep -v mppe > /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd
echo -e 'mppe required\nmppe stateless' >> /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd
So I added that, gave it a try, and not only could I still not connect with the encryption checkbox ticked, but then the working Windows 7 PC couldn't connect either. Kept getting an error stating "The local computer does not support the required data encryption type."
Removed that line from the router, and I'm back to square one.
Stumped.
Anyone have any ideas?
(Oops, this should be in the Q&A section. My Bad.)
Nobody else having this issue, eh?
I have the same issue with my Atrix on CM9 - CM7 was fine.

Hi, I've got a problem with Remote Desktop Mobile.
It works well when I use computer’s local IP address - 192.168.1.15.
Then I opened the 3389 port so I could connect from 3G(to test it out I used WiFi first). Then I put the internet IP. The problem is, it doesn't want to connect. It says it's connecting, but it's taking too long. Finally, on my tp2 it says:
"Cannot connect. Likely reasons are:
1. The remote computer is not set up for this.
2. Reached the maximum number of connections
3. A network error occurred while connecting.
The first and second ones are lies.
I also tried using Hamachi. The same problem occurred.
So what may be the problem?
Thanks in advance.
