I'm using Mischle's 2.0 btw. This morning I opened the advanced config settings prog in settings and checked the cleartype when transposed (or whatever) box and reset. When I started to use the phone again I noticed that finger scrolling wasn't working anymore. So I soft reset and still no joy. Went to settings and made sure the enable scroll and sound boxes were checked and reset. Still no joy. Anyone know what may have happened?
i had this when i first flashed my orbit, finger scrolling seems to be related to the size of your scroll bars, not sure why or how but if you reset the width of your bars back to the normal size (assuming you adjusted them) the finger scrolling will come back to life!!!

Thanx for the tip. Don't remember changing the size of the scroll bars but I may have touched something by mistake because I was fumbling with the phone when I was on that screen for a minute. That's good to know for next time but I've since done a hard reset and restored with Sprite Backup. I love my Sprite Backup.

Was running ATT WM5 and all was well. Flashed to Offical ATT WM6 using SPL2.1. Now I'm at ROM 3.62.502.3 1.54.07.00 32.86u.7020.23H. At this point, still ok. Installed PPTFix to remap button 5 to Voice Speed Dial and setup Plantronics head set. Still ok. Added some email accounts and a customized background. All ok. Synced Contacts, Notes, etc. Still ok. Decided I didn't like the Comm and Battery Icons on the bottom tray and ran MobileRegistryEditor and changed values from 1 to 0. Still ok the rest of afternoon and last night.
Got up this morning, did a soft reset, and everything went to hell. Booted normally up to the green Windows screen, then hung there for 3 or 4 minutes. Finally got to the Today screen, but all apps run like honey on a cold morning. I can use VoiceCommand to place calls and I can Dial out Manually, but if I tap my contacts button, no contacts show up. Email won't send/receive, but I can get incoming calls. Today screen shows correct appointments and task, but tap Calandar and they don't show up there.
Before I do anything else, I wanted to get some ideas on where to start.
Pretty sure hiding the comm manager was your problem
I'm pretty sure hiding the comm manager icon was your problem, I've heard there are numerous problems when you hide the comm manager icon. Change that key back and see if your problems go away.
KarhU said on the ROM benchmark :
6. Never hide the WirelessManager Tray Icon at the bottom.
Don't believe me?
Try it and feel the difference.
This is the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000 ;<--- (dword:00000000 to hide and dword:00000001 to show)
Yeah, I've seen this issue in many of the recent WM6 ROM Threads. It's a true shame, since it means we're stuck with having to keep the bottom tray visible. I (for one) do not like that waste of screen space.
Too bad the fix for this anomaly is so elusive.

Thanks for the help. It looks like the Comm Mgr icon may have been the problem. My 8525 wouldn't connect to the Internet, Email or (thru Active Sync) to my desktop. Finally went into Settings/System/Clear Storage and it completely reloaded WM6. Reinstalled all my extra apps and things are fine. Of course I haven't tried to edit the registry and get rid of those bottom icons, and I don't think I'm going to. If anyone finds a sure method to get rid of the bottom system tray, please post.
somehow i accidently changed the home screen and i cant return it back to the default screen, which has the icons of the different categories. i have tried all the different settings ann cant find anywhere to change it back. on the home screen it has calendar and contacts on the bottom and i can add other categories on top but it goes into list style without icons. can anyone help, without me having to do a hard reset? i cant even do a soft reset because going to settings where it used to allow me to choose all settings it now goes straight the icons where i cant find soft reset option.
It sounds like (not sure from your description) you have TouchFLO/Sense showing, but want the default Titanium Home screen.
Try going to Start>Settings>Today>Items and uncheck TouchFLO or Sense.
thank you for response
i have touchpro2 and sense is not checked in items. as far as what titanium screen is , i dont know what that is. the screen i want back is the screen you see on every touchpro2 you see online, background with icons to choose from, easily change items, weather , and the bar on the bottom that you can slidt e left or right for different tasks. now it is just the word calendar on left bottom and contacts on right bottom
I understood you backwards. You want Sense checked. Then click OK.
Sense is the HTC-made interface/home screen. If you check "Windows Default" instead, you will get Titanium home screen (the "standard" home screen for Windows Mobile). Right now, you actually have neither.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday my rad new Xtrons Android headunit was working almost* fine and today, after following conventional wisdom and letting my 15yo nephew pimp it, it's in all sorts of...well fckd.
Keen on some help from the collective wisdom. Before anyone helpfully suggests a factory reset... well, that's been done, sooo many times. When your nephew CHANGES the factory settings, it becomes a cycle of hell.
Unit is an Xtrons PB86MTVP. 8" HD, Android 6.0' Octa-Core 64bit 32GB.
Current main problem is that the touch screen inputs are reverse and diagonally opposed. What the hell do I mean by that? If I want to type on the qwerty keyboard or simply tap an icon, I have to use my cunning and hit an area or button diagonal and opposite for it to work. If I can get past this issue then maybe I can move to the next one which is that the unit doesnt power on/off with the ignition.
To be clear, things tried (multiple times in some cases) include
Reset via reset button
reset via software app section
undoing car battery
pulling unit back out and disconnecting
turning on and off again
swearing
So, who can help? got a silver bullet?
TIA
Joe
You could go to settings start right down the line set your home screen back and you should have a setting there for different keyboards also that should get yoy back to normal

thanks for the reply djkeylenux. I've got the right keyboard though, thats not the problem. the problem is the touch input on the screen, no matter which screen I'm on.
Well beside calibrate witch I thing you tried you could also go to developer options take a kook at running process see if there's something running causing the problem,
I think you lost the MCU settings.
Go to settings and then into Factory Settings menu. Password is 126.
Then in keys tab re-calibrate the screen. During calibration you will first see a "+1" in one of the corners. Tap it with your finger. Then in opposite corner "+2" will appear. Tap it too. Then accept and apply ypir settings and the unit will reboot. The touchscreen will work correctly then
In the same screen you can also re-configure the touch buttons and physical buttons of yoir device.
It looks like someone potentially did an MCU upgrade/flash. If there was no backup of the settings then you lost it all. Which also means you might have lost bluetooth connectivity as the bt module type on first page of factory setting might be wrong too. Also canbus and other things might be affected. I recpmmend to check out the discussion threads on MTCD devices here. Someone with the same unit might tell you the right settings.
Hint: If you have trouble tapping the icons with non-calibrated screen. Try connecting a standard USB mouse to any of the USB ports.
Hello all,
I recently downloaded the Good Lock 2018 package from Galaxy store, and was playing around with the new apps. Upon installing Edge Touch, I noticed my phones edges weren't registering touch. This makes it difficult to hit backspace on my keyboard app, along with other touches. I don't want ANY area blocked off, I want to use 100% of my screen. I tried creating a "profile" with zero pixel border, it works for 5 mins and then defaults back to "Optimized" which is about 30 pixel border no touch zone. I've also tried uninstalling the app, but it looks like it leaves the residual settings behind, blocking the border. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to reset so I can use 100% of my screen?
Thank you in advance, this is driving me nuts!

Open the actual Good Lock 2018 app and turn it off
Also clear data from the edge border app

This actually worked for about 6 hours, and then it has reset back to normal. There is no setting option in Good Lock to "turn it off". The best I can do is clear cache/data and uninstall.

I just installed it, set up the Edge Zones, made sure it worked then deleted my custom Zone, set it back to optimised before uninstalling as suggested by the app, then uninstalled it and my edges are working fine again
Thid weird issue started today in the morning, first I noticed that the clock widget had changed size, and that the led me know ring around the cam hole was out of place, but, when trying to write in whatsapp, I no longer could make the keyboard to appear by taping the wrinting field, in fact, nothing located in the bottom worked, what is odd, the bottom gestures worked, as I hid the nav bar since day one, tried everything, changed dpi, changed keyboards, retired the screen protector, wiped cache, to no avail, reluctantly, I updated to android 10, but no luck, after digging more, I found a work around, I changed the resolution from quad hd to full hd, now all is normal, but, this is just a work around, not a real solution, somebody have an idea of what would be the reason for this?
Did you have your phone linked to windows, your computer online and the phone screen displayed at that time? In this case, if you chose to use your computer's hardware keyboard in Your phone settings on your computer, then, when trying to write something in whatsapp, the virtual keyboard on your phone is not displayed or it is partially displayed. In my case, using the AI Type keyboard, only the top row of the keyboard was displayed because the app thought I'm using my computer's keyboard.

Thanks for your reply, but no, in fact I have never used the phone in that way, something else caused the issue

Was your phone charging at the time by any chance?
I found the solution!
I had the exact same problem with my note 10 plus, the gestures worked, and I tested the bottom part of the screen to make sure everything was working and it was, but the buttons in apps like instagram at the very bottom of the screen still were unresponsive most of the time. The solution is to ho to your settings, switch the navigation bar to the other gesture variant and then back to you preffered one and it should work. It worked for me.
Thanks man, I just found what triggers the issue, as odd as it seems, changing resolutions from qhd to fhd id what causes the issue, odd, because I used a bixby routine to save power at nights, by setting medium power saving, which among other things, lowered the screen resolution to fhd, when the routine ended, it should reverse to qhd, and that precisely triggered the issue, I used this routine for months, until, out of the blue, it started to cause this problem
