calendar icon for WM6 - P3600 ROM Development

when i create a meeting, i get this two red arrows pointing at each other and i am not sure what this icon means. this is NOT the recurring event.
i can't seem to find this in the manual and definitely not one of the 6 icons under option.

Time conflict I think ... look at the WM6 demo at Microsoft WIndows Mobile site.

WM6 Office

Dear all,
Does it possible to clone the WM6 Office into WM5? Anyone can make it and share?
Thanks
Why?
Couldn't find one new feature missing from WM 5.
ummm...you can always create a new folder named Office Mobile ...if that makes you any happier ...or just flash your device with a wm6 rom
The only noticeable feature in Word is the loading progress bar when opening and saving. There may be others but that's all I've seen.

How about the Exchange 2007 support, HTML email, flagging etc...

The WM5 pocket outlook can't read the mail with html format. If someone can extract the mobile office from WM6 (Crossbow) and make a CAB file for install to WM5 will be good.

WM6 vs. WM5

I'm ready to upgrade/flash my Dash, but just wondering, what exactly is the upside of WM6? I'm happy to be an early adopter and all that, but what will I notice to be improved?
if you haven't read every thread posted here about wm6 then you aren't ready to install it yet.
there are quite a few important changes you need to make imediately after installing.
the main advantages for me are the email enhancements and xt9 staying off pemanently. it also looks prettier. windows live seems to work better as well.
oh and the early adopters downloaded and installed it a month ago

Is that it? How about alert customization depending on the account or something?
I have the files on my PC ready to go but I'm still using WM5 because I don't want my device phoning Microsoft or T-Mobile with my IMEI or other information. While you can disable it, the idea that your device phone's home should be kind of scary to you. Also, its BETA. I don't want my phone going crazy while I am on the road and I need it most.
JAmerican
its more then just html but that is nice.
you have the option to send mail when you hit send instead of having to hit send/receive as well.
you can keep mail on the server when you delete off the phone.
delete is moved to the left softkey instead of having to go into the menu.
I'm using WM6 on two devices, and although I wouldn't go back to the previous version, WM6 is JUST LIKE WM5. It's just that the majority of the applications have something or another that makes it that much more usable.
What I mean is, there are quite a few little features (and a couple additional applications) that make it an "upgrade." It's just like how WM5 was an upgrade to WM2003. It isn't an upgrade as much as it's update, if that makes any sense...
I'm pretty sure WM6 doesn't "phone home" or anything. I imagine this would have been found out by this point.
installation process
But, it sounds like upgrading is a whole lot more complicated than just running RUU_Excalibur... on my unlocked T-Mobile Dash. I then have to do a bunch of other mysterious steps?

He's talking about the app on the t-mobile beta wm6 rom which sends an SMS to a UK number frequently thus running up a high phone bill. Once that app is uninstalled it appears to be ok.

But there isn't exactly a step by step guide, at least none I found on a search.
You could write one...
I am using WM6 since first HERMES build appear.
PRO
Faster
Nice grafic presentation
Some applets (office mobile for smartphone could be one)
Windows LIVE (but is also available ad WM5 add-on)
CON
Is at least a RTM bur still some beta's DLL and drivers are out, meaning unpredictable results with some appz
No big improvements, I am using smartphone notes and documents to go and I HAVE a better office sute, having even some PPT editing, nice word usability and formatting
Needs to be patched just to work normally
HTML e-mail works ONLY with exchange server 2007
Conclusion
The Excalibur HTC ROM is fast and stable (we are talking STABLE in terms of a windows system ). Documents to go is much better than WM6 office, no compatibility for both with office 2007 doc formats, nothing really improved having the WM6 Rom at this stage .
WM6 is a MS business to boost VISTA compatibility and exchange server 2005 sales (all important new features are available ONLY uif you use exchange server 2005)
From user point of view better graphic is the only real enhancement
WM6 really shines when you are a corporate user with Exchange 2007 airsync. You have stuff like rights management, sharepoint proxy, calendaring enhancements and better office integration (with lates office clients you can also use new formats). There is much more info on the M$FT website.

Hi MrJasJam,
Try this:
http://www.pocketpctweaks.com/new/pocketpc_tweaks/msn_messenger_notifications.html
You'll need a registry editor like PHM or Resco. I've tried this tweak on my T-Mobile MDA Pro (HTC Universal) and it does give me the option to set a notification for "Contact Online", but it doesn't actually work when a contact comes online. However, it may work for you.
By the way, this tweak works perfectly on WM5, I'm not sure why it doesn't on 6.
I hope this helps.

Titanium plugins (CLauncher & CComm) for WM6.5 Standard

I am porting some Titanium plugins for WM6.5 Standard.
Currently, I have ported the CLauncher & CComm, both of which were originally developed by "chriscsh" and quite good.
You can find out more information about these plugins on their corresponding threads:
* Titanium CLauncher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514490
* Titanium CComm http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513747
The plugins require Mortscript, which is also included below.
I have only tested and verified the plugins using the PD Titanium panels on the EnergyROM. However, I believe they should work on the 3vo ROM as well. These plugins use the ATPluginInstaller, which provides a robust installation and limits compatibility issue with other panels.
Here are some screenshots:
(CLauncher showing two applications, Facebook & Tiny Twitter)
(CComm showing the two pages, Setup & Phone connection)
(Steps for adding an application to the CLauncher panel, in this case, Opera Mini)
is there anywhere we can add another panel? one for apps another for games if possible?
Well.... not exactly. The CLauncher is a single panel.
The idea here is to be able to access and launch applications that are used very frequently (maximum of 9). It really does not matter if they are games, utilities, online applications, native applications.
The feature that you ask for would need to be implemented in a different plugin.
thats what im saying like an a cab that will let us another panel like clauncher
This two are working great, the only one i miss is the contact panel,
i dont have much experience with this type of mods, and im getting an atplugin error, so if anyone could help i would really appreciate.
can someone help me set this up no idea how
yeah working fine in portrait mode too!!! (some fix to the cpr but nothing impmossible!!)
really good job!
now we need a way to add more than one launcher... it could be great and usefull!!

O.k once you install the .cabs I had to go to Chome Config. and "show" both panels. You can the go back to you home screen and setup the CComm panel. As for as the CLauncher panel goes manual input works best; expecialy if your apps are located on your storage card, i.e \Storage Card\Program Files\Facebook\facebook.exe. Then you name it, and choose a icon. Ihave Chome Config. Icon-pak installed and I get mine form there. Hope this helps. I would love to have Chome Config work fully on WM6.5 though.
Ok, I am scratching my head just a little here. I have this set up and it is working well. I am able to launch a couple of programs. Of course I set those app's up using the "Choose from list" method. Now....here is the problem. I am trying to add the Opera Mini app using the manual method referred to in your 3th picture, but my Branded T-Mobile Dash does not seem to have a forward slash "\", only a backward slash "/". Am I blind, or just being a n00b? I have looked the keyboard over and over again, and honestly, I don't think it has it. Help please.

when your typing, press on your symbol button, and you'll find it on the symbol list.
BTW, works good on 3VO rom

Ah. I see said the blind man. Heck, I didn't even know that was what that button is for. Guess it would have helped if I read my owners manual, lol. I was so used to texting on my previous phone, Motorola RAZR. Like I said before, I am new to the smartphone/full keyboard thing.
Thanx man. I would have taken forever figuring that out.

To get the "\" you must press the camera/sym key that is to the right of the space bar. There you can find backslash.
Is there a task plugin for windows mobile 6.1
Is there a task plugin for windows mobile 6.1. Which can display tasks on homescreen.

Now i feel like i wasted 30 minutes of my time or that i'm not as lazy as some people who use roms.... when i installed the 3vo rom series i spent the first 30 mintues after initial setup editing one of my chome panels so i could have a programs panel with facebook, twitter, oz messenger, youtube, and opera mini. the made a second panel for my comm settings, reboot, and free memory. lol. i guess when the final version is released i'll just use your ports instead of wasting my time. lol

What I did is export the registry entries for my custom panels, so when I reflash just import those entries and I'm ready to go, just export the following entries
HKLM\Security\CHome\DefaultSettings\""Your panel name"
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\""Your panel name"
The export is on My documents so after you export copy it to your SD card
Hope this help and save some time next time

WinMo 6.5 Out of Office Assistant

hi folks! I have been playing around with my new tilt 2 and searching this forum and the web for an answer but have been unsuccesful. I am trying to learn how to set up an "out of office" (OOF) auto reply using Outlook mobile. Most references I see to this are for Windows 6.1. I have looked under Tools and Options while in outlook inbox and while in the calendar and I do not see the OOO assistant anywhere. Anyone know where to find this? I was hoping to find some sort of user manual for WinMo 6.5 that would provide info like this but cant find that either.
any advice would be great, thnx!

Hi Taz The instructions for setting it up are on page 158 of your Tilt2 users manual.
If you don't have yours anymore, there's an archived copy on THIS page
thxn for the reply sirphunkee! unfortunately, when I navigate to Outlook email and then click on Menu -> Tools, the only option I have is "Sort By". I do not see an out of office option like the instructions suggest. Any idea what I could be missing here?

No, and I noticed I don't have the option there either...but I'm running WM 6.1 instead of 6.5 so I assumed that was the reason. However, after looking around some it seems that all references are to the option being in that location, for both 6.1 and 6.5. The only other possibility I see is that the option will work only if the account is through an M$ exchange server, particularly 2007...do you know if the account you're accessing is on an Exchange '07 server, or on Exchange at all?
That's all I could really find on that...
It is connecting to an exchange server but I'm not sure which version it is....
You need Exchange 2007 or 2010 in order for the Out Of Office to work. I'm a Systems Administrator btw
