Well. ive looked about in these forums.. and i cant really find a place for a collection of skins for the WMP on the phone.. i thought i might make a thread where i can share skins that i find... and i also had the question of how to go about making your own skins.. i used to make skins for other media players, and i wanted to get some info before i start.
My not so amazing unincredimble crazy collection of skins:
i kno that i dont know how to spell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That link has all you need to know about skinning - easy way is to just take one that's already made, open up the text file with notepad and then modify it and hit save (not save as). All the work is really in doing the art... I think this is a good thread. It could also use WMP mobile plugins - if anyone knew how to make an EQ that would be AWESOME!!!
dude.... thats amazing,, fantastic.. and skinning this is so much easier than other media players lol.. anyway.. so i remade the WMP11 skin because:
a) the background was annoying..
b) it didnt have landscape mode
c) the volume percentage was too close to the speakers symbol
d) i wanted a bar at the top to seperate the status
so now it looks like:

Can some one help me with this picture? I´m not so skilled in paint shop
Is there a .cab file out there somewhere, much like htctoucher's m2d theme? I've found some good keyboards upon my last request, and it seems everyone has been coming out of the woods with great help.
my next quest is the iphone style sms text threading, has anyone been able to create this app yet? htctoucher has created it for a diamond, but not for HD. (if someone is willing to take on this task, I think silver and blue would be great colors for the bubbles)
This forum has so many great tools for the HD, I'm just looking for a little more user-friendly experience with my blackstone beast.
Thanks!!
I wish too!

ya I've seen that one, the threaded sms texting on that isn't iPhone style that I'm looking for tho.
Have you tried Vito SMS-chat?
Below is iPhone threaded sms :-

Lol, yes it is. It's just a matter of creating a skin. You could definitely give it a go yourself! I just learned fully the last few days on how to theme pocketcm keyboard (best keyboard ever and free! Tho plz donate, it / he rocks).
Anyway...there are many iPhone themes for pocketcm...just not any for WVGA..YET! I imagine htctoucher will have it going in no time, he has just been waiting for a stable enough version.
Give it a go!
Well, the name sorta gives it away. It's a hybrid theme with part Diamond stuff, and part original Manila. I hadn't found a single good theme that had the Diamond colors, so I made my own. I made the colors for the message count and stuff actually match the Diamond.
-The colors match the System theme of NFSFANS WM6.1 Manila ROM.
-The home tab is made to accommodate the overlapping of appointments. (TouchFLO version 1)
-Background is blue(Original Manila), not black like all those Diamond themes, because I think it was getting boring.
-Yes, I didn't make a stupid Diamond clock, because it was getting over-rated. I might make it later on, but for now, i like this.
-The background in the Home tab is one of the official wallpapers that come with the GSM Diamond. I'm adding a separate zip of QVGA versions for those.

OK, 2 UPDATES:
-Fixed the original Manila images sizes, so the focus buttons match the area taken up by the clock, instead of going into the call history button area.
-Also fixed the REC placement, so hitting the top part of the Call History button doesn't highlight the clock. (More thumb friendly?)
-Fixed the focus buttons for the internet tab. (I wonder why the original had them the way it did...)

P.S- I am looking into skinning for apps, if you have any documentation of certain apps skinning please let me know.
Currently looking for docs on iContact, GAlarm, CorePlayer & Windows Media Player.
Thank you very much x86.
Enjoy! More advanced boot screens and network screenc coming soon!
awesome screens!!! small tutorial on boot screen install?.... i am hard spl'd i think that is needed??? thx!
But how to apply these skins.
Thanks
I have an Sprint HTC Snap (S511) and need some help installing these.
Thanks!
each device is different for install, i found how to install on Wizard and Hermes in the Wiki's, or just search 'how to change splash' (or bootscreen) with your devices code name after it, using the search feature.
I will post some tutorials soon, but it isvery easy on most devices using the app, it flashes the new splash.. just like flashing but waaay quicker and easier.
tuts for some phones I have done it on coming with my next set soon.
Cooks, feel free to use, or request customization (cooks only).
thanks guys
can you help me on how to install them on the Pantech Matrix Pro? Or is there a general app that i could use for installing them?
Thanks
Hello to All!
I started some Workshop about Future of Mobile Windows Devices for
- Interface and OS and
- Hardware-Sugegstions
and i want to invite all of you to be Part of this and add your Concepts, Comments and Ideas.
In my Powerpoint-Presentation i worked out some Concept for A 3D-Interface for Explorer, Messaging, Filereader and some Applications-Manager (instead of A Homescreen). Here is the Link, this is about 20MB, because i put in A Lot of Screenshots and Sketches of my Idea.
Within this, you can overview everything on the first View - and there you find Illustrations of an animated graphical 3D-Interface for easy exploring with Thumbnails of everything that is running.
My Idea includes A Concept for making Sessions of what you are doing (opened Programms, Web-Sessions, Multimedia-Sessions, Sessions for Volume, -for Settings, so that you can share whole Devices at once, ...).
Everything is presented to you in horizontal-moving Rings with Icons Rows and Thumbnails of Folders-Content:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You can preview the Content of A Folder in Background-Icons (Levels) as Thumbnails when you hold your Finger on an Icon,
Menus and Settings and Explorer+ Readers are sorted and put together in 1 Interface - that is my Vision for Windows-Phone 7 Series and later Versions.
-Within the Apps-Manager you watch:
I also want to share with you my Idea of revolutionary Hardware-Features for Windows-Devices and how that could be realized.
Please feel free to let me know your Thoughts for some animated Interface and let's talk about your Suggestions for Future of Windows-Mobile Devices (-Should Win. be more the Way of MP3-Player or of A Tablet-PC?) and please publish Illustrations of your Thoughts and Concepts here, also Comments of the new MS Phone-Concept.
"Let's create Future"
While innovative, I think that looks very over-designed. Not sure that it would be very user friendly... perhaps too flashy.
nice
but i think Microsoft had gone through lots of designs before they chose the new one!
Wow you sure seem to be talented! But not quite sure if you're using it in the right place!
Too many icons
