i've just bought my friends XDA (the 1st one), i was wondering if by any chance i can upgrade it to windows mobile 2003 & remove the PPC 2002 on it?
my only problem with this phone is that it does not have BT & WM2003, but i guess that a software issue??
can it be done.
can someone please give me a link for this...
thanks

Yes you can upgrade to WM2003 but about the BT this is a Hardware issue thus you cannot get an BT SD because it won't work the unit does not support SD/IO.
I recommend from you do not touch the "RSU" leave it as its .
How to upgrade to WM2003 goto http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org and cook your rom
then here's the safest way how to install it to your ppc http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=3274
Good Luck.

upgrading ppc2003 to wm5
I just did this upgrade yesturday, I had my 4700, I bought WM5 on eBay, I follow instructions on it and because I didn’t look at Vista specials, I got my Ipaq totally off. It got stack on loading, showing only USB and version 1.01 gray screen.
Well, I download bootloader on my PC with windows XP, start it, select file to load in (CEOS_UPG) and after cca 10 min. I can enjoy my hp4700 again with new WM5. Now I know, that there is no problem with this tool to go back to WM5, I am going to try WM6, I will try to use install from vista and I will see. Going to try WM6_4700_RELEASE4.
Can anyone help me find PocketPC 2003? My PDA (not smartphone) has 2002 and I would like upgrade to 2003. Anyone with a link or copy of PocketPC 2003..????? Thanks
what pda do you have?
I have an HP Ipaq 5450. I have called HP, and they confirmed it can be upgraded to Windows PocketPC 2003. They said any copy will work, and I can download any needed drivers for it from their website.
Is there a reason I can get no information regarding PocketPC 2003? Is it becasue it's so old? Is it because I am using HP Ipaq 5450? Is it because no one cares? Is it becasue it doesn't exist anymore? I have posted this request several times over the last several days, and have gotten NO information to resolving my issue. Please, point me and I will gladly follow.
Thanks

Hello everybody!
I recently found this old Qtek 9090 with Windows Mobile 2003, and I'd like to upgrade the OS to Windows Mobile 6 (in Italian) and then use it as a navigator...
I've already searched in this forum, but most of the links and downloads don't run, I suppose because this is an old matter...
I need also information about how to upgrade the rom... and I've read that I need also a "preparation pack" for WM2003 to use before upgrading, but I can't find a working link to the download.
Until now I found and downloaded this... "RC5 23698 Multi-Rom" by d-two... it is a .nbf file... but I actually don't know what to do with this file.
I apologize of having posted a new thread, I've already read a lot of posts in this forum, but the more I read, the more I get confused :S
I hope someone can help me, thanks a lot!

Yes, I'm using win 7 64 bit on my notebook, but if this is a problem I can use my old desktop with win XP sp2 32 bit! I've already downloaded your rom and also the updater!

Yes, better you use XP, if you have wm2003 on the blueangel you must only connect it on the PC, if you have WM5 or higher you mus put the blueangel into bootloader modus!

What's wrong?
ok, sorry, I just forgot to put the .nbf file into the updater folder...
ok, upgrade successful! But now my pc doesn't recognize the device when I connect it... and I need to enter the device memory! What can I do?
