Hello,
I bought a 4 gb mini sd card for my HTC wizard which unfortunatly broke so I bought an xda exec however the mini sd card (in an adapter) won't write but it will read. In card reader Windows XP won't write either however Linux will. I have tried many ways to fix it including: Turning from SDHC drivers to SD drivers, Updating my rom and Partioning it to 4 1gb partitions.
Please help me fix the writing problem,
Will
Has started working, Don't know why

hi, new to the forum! i have just bought a sans disk 2GB card but im having trouble using it. i tried it in a friends card reader and managed to put a couple of mp3 albums on but then it makes the system freeze up until you take the card out, i have formated it and tried again but the same happens, similarly when i put it in my exec the phone works fine and can see the mp3s but when i try and load one it freezes. iv been looking for the answer to the problem and found some info on 2gb cards in hp's something about this fat/fat32 thing, is this the problem iv got and could someone enlighten me? also will i be able to format the card or whatever while it is in the exec and synced with pc as i do not have another card reader, although my friend has a pc one if i have to do it that way...
many thanks in advance.
Check your OS
This thing happens only when
you have initial ROM (update it wth latest ROM)
Card is not formatted on the same media (format it on your universal)
Card media is + technology which is not compatible with your mobile. (try to change it to SD instead of MMC)
I hope above may help you
sorry if im being dumb but how do i format the card on my universal?
simply format it in windows... I got a 2gb high speed card from samsung and I am using it without any problem without formating it even once
it could also be that the card is incompatible or your universal is faulty. try another card and that same card in some other device
the card iv got is a sandisk one, i read that it was compatible with the xda II so presumed it would be fine with the exec?
I think it's broken.
I had a 2GB from Transcend, and it had the same symptoms.
I returned it for RMA, because I read that someone else ad the 4GB version was working perfectely.
Before you do return it, buy another card reader. I had 1gb cards that corrupted seemingly, except a newer SD reader formatted them fine and they have been fine ever since.
Not all readers can handle the big sizes.

Greetz people!
My problem is that my Herm200 wont regonize 2gb micro sd cards. Ive tried with SanDisk 2gb (not ultraII) and Kingston 2gb card. I use my Kingston 1gb card with no problems and have tried Kingston 512mb card also with no problems.
Ive tried formatting with fat and fat32.
Any ideas?
And im running Schap's 3.57a rom, wich is a great rom by the way. I tried the SanDisk card with other roms too, so i dont think the problem is related to the rom.
Dumb questions first - can a PC card reader access the card? If so, what filesystem is the card formatted in? Can't remember what it needs to be (FAT or FAT32) but if the PC can read it, format it to each until the phone can read it.
Yes card reader can read both of the 2gb card's (i have them both here) and i have tried fat and fat32 systems.
Strange since the Newer ROMs support 4GB cards the only thing I can think of is try playing with the card while its in pushing it agenst the contacts or pop the battery out and push the contacts down a little so it makes the card fit snug. I have no problems and never had with my 2GB scandisk SD card. also search the threads there was lots of reported problems before with SD cards but most of that was fixed with the new ROMs
basically my 16gb micro sdhc card is corrupt
windows doesnt detect it
ubuntu doesnt detect it
cameras say cannot format
htc desire wont find it
HELP
i have had a few of these over the past year or so.
did you get it off Ebay direct from China?
it is a genuine 16 gb card (and ive copied 16 gigs on to it). its just that i pulled it out of the computer when it hadnt finished copiying something and now its like that
You tried to connect it to gparted while in a card reader or by manually mounting it while in recovery?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
recovery comes up with some dev/block/mmcblk0 not found or something
gparted cannot find the sd card when ive connected to pc in usb. but gparted detects mircosdhc 8gb card perfectly using same usb reader
is any one good with sd cards as i am willing to post it if it can be fixed
i have tried everything and the panasonic sdformatter 3.0 comes up with device not supported
Hi folks,
I recently got a 64 GB microsd card ( class 4) for my galaxy note 10.1 SM-P601 ( build:JSS15J.P601XXUBMJ9,Baseband601DDUBMJ1).
This card works fine when I use it on my laptop but I am unable to write it on the tablet.I am able to read the data though.
Below is the list of what I have already tried and failed.
1)I have tried rebooting,remounting reinserting
2) As the default format was exFAT I reformatted it into fat32 using fat32 formatter.
3) I tried partitioning the card on laptop into 2 32gb partitions and then using it on the tablet.
4) I have tried SD card accelerators from Play store.
Once I mount the sdcard it shows TOTAL SPACE: 62.5 GB in Settings->General->Storage.When ever I try to write the card it somewhat gets unmounted and shows TOTAL SPACE :0.0 bytes.
Please suggest a solution to make it work

Have you formated it in the GN 2014?
Also, I wouldn't use a Class 4.. Just my opinion.
Also, they have some bad 64gb cards out there.. I would get a name brand 64gb class 10 from BestBuy, Staples, etc.. Format it GN 2014. If everything works, then the problem was the sd card.
I have a Sandisk Ultra 64gb Class 10 in my GN 2014 and my Note 3.. both work perfectly.
Hi gurus,
The Idea is to make the the 64 gb card (that working fine on my laptop) work on my note 10.1.
Please help .
What could be the possible reason.

As you have tried several things, can you please tell us exactly what your situation is now so we can help you.
If the card is a used one, it may have been formatted as FAT32, to work in a non-Sdxc compatible device. The Sdxc capable note may boycott the card because of violation of the specs, so reformat it to exFat.
It was similar with 4GB SD cards, which shall not exist by spec, but worked fine in Sd devices, not in Sdhc ones.
Experiencing the same

Hi maainux, I'm experiencing the same problem here, have you found any solution?
Mine is a SM-P601 / Android 4.3 / Build: JSS15J.P601UBUBMJ4 / Baseband: P601UBUBMJ1 (Fully Stock)
I tried 3 64gb micro sd card: SanDisk Ultra, Samsung, and a generic one. For both 3 the same results, as following:
1 - If I let the tablet format the card (exFAT), it can be mounted but gets suddenly unmounted when I try to write on it and shows TOTAL SPACE :0.0 bytes just like yours. I installed BTSync, when I tried to configure the sync on the tabled by selecting the sd card as the destination folder for the files, the app give a message saying it don't have permission to access that folder and gets unmounted. Tried rebooting, remounting, reinserting, and nothing change.
2 - If I format to fat32 as a logical partition using Minitool Partition Wizard, I get the same behavior as above description.
3 - If I format to fat32 as a primary partition using Minitool Partition Wizard, I can create folders but can't delete them, when I try to delete via "My Files" it says "deletion failed". I tried ES File Explorer, get the same. I was able to configure BTSync, it can copy the files from my PC folder, but when I delete some file in the PC it can't be deleted on the tablet and the BTSync app shows a message stating it can't identify the destination folder on the tablet.
I have some micro sd cards laying around, tried SanDisk 32gb, 16gb and 8gb, both 3 worked flawlessly on the tablet. I noticed the tablet format any <32gb card as fat32, and the 64gb as exFat, this make me think that was related to file system format, but it's not. Seems something related to permissions, like the KitKat 4.4 guys are experiencing. The point is I'm completely newbie on Android and have ZERO knowledge on Linux/Unix, so I have no Idea on how to solve this.
Can you guys help me?
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys
have you found any solution?
Thanks
Hello, I am using a Sony Class 10 32GB micro sd card in my android mobile. I have partitioned the SD Card into 3 parts. And recently I faced a problem that my memory card froze and I couldn't delete or move any files. Also I couldn't format it. I have scanned my device if any virus was there but there isn't any. I used many different tools such as Minitool Partition Wizard, Easeus Partition Tool, HDD Low Level format tool, and also GPARTED and windows disk management.
But none worked. All the files are as it they were and even I can access them. I dont think it is a burnt card also there is no physical write lock switch as it is a micro sd card.
Please help!!!
