Hello everyone
I bought an O2 XDA from a friend. Have unlocked it and now inserted my Orange SIM.
I can receive SMS and make calls but cannot connect to web or pick up my pop3 emails.
Is there a program i can download or how do i do it
Please help - its making me crazy!!!
Munders.
you just need to setup the grps in
settings->connections->connections
add a cell grps network
type in the access point of your network
type in the login and password if you network require this
and you have network
then you need to add pop3 under the inbox acount
with the incomming and outgoing servers you use
and the login and password you use
Someone wrote a whole guide on how to do this for the XDA II on Orange. If you search these forums I guess you'll find it. I think the author was Shademehr or something.
Thanks guys. I'll try that
I can access Wap now. Cannot however add a new POP3 account. The optioned is greyed out on my XDA. It only allows SMS or Activesync.
Any ideas?
what if you press accounts->New account
thats how i set mine up the reason that it's greyd out the place you are looking should be because it's not setup yet
in what section is the accounts option?
Thanks
New account is the thing you should run in the account menu

Do you get the slide/dropdown when you tap the INBOX on the TOP LEFT corner? if so, attach a screenshot.

Thunder,
I get identical issues when the battery on my BA dies, or I remove it. The problem happens as a result of corruption in the cemail.vol file in the root of your device, and is present in all the WM5 builds. I suspect, that you are seeing something similar in relation to the use of the hotmail account creating a problem in the file. While I don't use hotmail on my BA, I'm willing to bet that this is one of those system level bugs that are not going to be easily fixed, and that you'll need to either live with it, or find a way around it (like not using the inbox app for POP accounts, etc.)

Hi all,
I hope you're all well...
I've set up my Exchange Email and it works fine but I keep getting "Unable to get your Out of office settings from the Exchange server right now. Please try again later" message...
Is there something I need to do??
Also, i set up my hotmail first and then this exchange account... The hotmail account comes first on the widget and then I have to manually choose the Exchange.. Is there a way to have the Exchange account show first??
Thanks for your help
What version of Exchange do you use? I wonder whether its a 2007 onwards feature.
Hi Ritdaw,
thanks for the message...
I've just checked and it's 2003?
That would be a huge shame if it is only supported by 2007......!?

Its quite possible that its only supported by 2007 onwards. I haven't seen any out of office functionality before on exchange activesync.
Someone may be able to confirm this if they are using 2007?

Remove the email-widget from the screen and then add it again. There is three options of how the widget should look. You choose the second option and will be asked which account shall be shown in the first place. Tap Exchange - et voilà!

Im trying now the seccond day to find out, where are the e-mail account informations stored which we fill in when start the e-mail app the first time.
What i want is to add an e-mail account but whitout the e-mail wizard. I mean this one file(accounts.db) have something whit the e-mail app in relation, but when i try to add a mail account in the mail.db or in the account.db nothing apply. the records are stored in the files that is not the problem, but i cant see a new account in the e-mail app.
Is somebody here hwo can explane to me how it works and what i have to do, to apply a e-mail account correctly whitout the wizard?

Can't live a day without email, and since yesterday I can't create any email account with the Samsung stock email app through Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. It keeps saying "Setup couldn't finish: Unable to connect to server". I have tried YMail, GMail, none works! I guess I am not the only one and it's a MS server problem?

Kindly check and confirm.
TIA.
Huh?

Ok, what specific email service are you trying to setup (GMail, YMail, etc.).
What is the name of the server that you are trying to connect to? For example, the ActiveSync server for GMail is m.google.com.
Lets start with that and see where we go from there.

Did u try add accont from "settings -> add account -> email" atleast for me phone automatically converted it to exchance acticesync account. (Windows Live account)

GMail. That's how it worked since the day I got the phone, but now it isn't working. It's obviously a different Note 2 (the old one was having a problem, so service center provided me a new one), but that shouldn't be any reason.
I just type my username, then password, select Manual setup, tap on MS Exchange ActiveSync, then I tap on next and that error pops up! The server address is m.google.com like you said. But I've tried with different address like m.gmail.com, no luck!
Now I had a Nandroid backup from my old Note 2, which I was restoring some minutes back with Nandroid Manager, and when I restored the email and Exchange service the old email data is back, as Exchange ActiveSync.
This is the most weird thing I've seen since a long time!

Tried that mate. No better.
Now could any one of you test it for me? I'm strongly recommending to NOT delete the account you're already having with ActiveSync, just try with another account and see, please? I've GMail and YMail accounts, so can't say about any other account.
Thanks in advance.

It's the default, I'm not changing anything.
The domain by default is, \[email protected]

For GMail, the domain should be google.

I've already tried that, no difference! Actually I've tried a lot of things showed up by Googling, none if them is working!
I don't know, could this be this Unique device identifier or something, which is messing something?

AFAIK Google have dropped support for active sync for Gmail on new device since last week Jan 13.
(Just replied pm too)

Yep read at least 6-7 articles about it. What a stupidity by Google! http://www.theverge.com/2012/12/14/...-sync-exchange-support-for-gmail-calendar-and
Anyway, that was it for me, created a Hotmail account and a Live account as well (love the name, Live, lol) and Exchange ActiveSync created the account easy.
Now I guess there is no way I can have all my messages transferred to the Hotmail account from the Gmail account right, and have the new emails in Hotmail instead of Gmail? I have to manually edit the email id everywhere from Gmail to Hotmail or is there any trick?
Yes, This is good way and I am also doing same since long. I have yahoo account and forwarding Gmail to yahoo always.
I don't think you need to change ID everywhere, just use both ID atleast for now, may be there will be some solution for Gmail comes.
