WiFi On/Off Link Fix (Work Around actually).

I stumbled across this in the Universal WM6 Forum.
I can't take credit for it, Szilamer is the creator of this neat little fix.

I simply modified his cab file to include the signed dll (so it will auto start on our Hermes) and added the settings for button size and location.
You need to install both Cab files and then restart your device.
This will be embedded into WMXL v0.30 but I didn't think it was right to make you guys wait once we got it working properly.

The placement is by design (the link it covers does not currently work in WM6).
If you really want to move it then read the original thread, it explains what registry keys to change.

After install the 2 cabs, reset, having fun turning on & off wifi, I'm experiencing a weird problem. The phone felt into deep coma if I turned on Wifi then put it on standby using the power button, the only way I can turn it back on is do a reset. I remove the cab and the problem is gone. I tested it several times already. Anyone else have this problem?
btw, I'm using the LVSW Edition (2007-03-20).

Same ROM, exact same problem... soft reset only solution.
If not a problem on ROMs other than 320LVSW, maybe conflicts with new 'wireless manager' bubble?

I changed the xpos to 7 in the registry and it's now on the left side of the bubble.

So this was the reason for hermes freezing on LVSW (20-3-2007).
I removed cab.
I have thought that it was the reason of the rom.

Hmm, that's strange.. It's working great with suspends on Universal.
Does everybody have this problem with freezes ?
(Even with WMXL version?)
Anyway there is one more method to switch on/off wifi .. (with the help of ossvcs.dll)

Calendar cab

guys can someone help with a link for WM calendar?
after installing 2.1 touch i had an issue with the left soft key in an appointment saying reply instead of edit. ive reflashed original wm5 rom and then vanmilla and same problem - now the calendar itself is playing up with things missing like letters (no am/pm just a & p) it only shows 5 hours in the working day
im just wondering if another calendar will help

for time, there is not pm or am on call register etc etc as well, just seems a bit strange, i re-flashed, hard reset, soft reset dunno what he problem is

the stuff you said, should be able to be fixed by settings (i.e. Flashing not required). the am/pm issue, I think it is in the regional settings. And the 5 hours working one, I think can be set in.. the Calender itself.

i tried all this, no joy, as soon as i add another rom, it all changes, but still doesnt explain why it says reply in the left soft of a calendar entry???

ive just flashed wm5 and the calendar is fine, reflashed 2.1 touc and then the same process with vanilla and again the soft key says reply??? it didnt with wm5???

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but from the looks of it, it is a WM6 and WM5 difference, nothing much you can do about it.

I think he's trying to say the the right softkey in the Calendar program is set to "Reply" instead of "Menu". Basically, he can't get to the menu now. Can that be fixed with the softkey program in settings? (I haven't explored this application fully, yet) But that doesn't sound right. I don't know how you would correct the way softkeys change within programs - just the home screen.
He may want to try to turn off his firewall and download it again. Then reflash just to make sure.

Thats the way wm6 works
edit is in menu\edit different to wm5.

your both right - menu is on the right soft key and edit is in there
i just thought it may be a problem with my rom or phone as the left soft key says reply and its not clickable. its not a big deal im not that fussy and love the software - setlled with touch 2.1 in the end. only reason i was panicking s i thought it maybe a bug or somehting and ruin my phone

It's got a long way to go and lots of work needed... but it should
end up a very good addition to the Touch HD, and once done, work can commence on porting to different resolutions.
I like the look of this front end alot better than the TF3D

There has been advances but very slow ones, It has been very "finiky" getting those "right changes" to commit more "stability changes"
It is because the HD was never meant to host Panels, and thus, is causing me a real pain in the backside! I'm currently looking at different roms, and versions of software, to try alternate file versions, to see if a combination is what is needed. Once this part is done, it should address a great deal of issues. Upto about 3 Hard resets a night, I think i should have a special button to do it on the back!

It has been brought to my attention, there is a Cab available on another thread, but i have no input on this.
It is at the same point i was about a month ago.
It is a simple copy and paste from a X1 and is unstable.
I did not put out a version like this, as It requires your phone be reset after running panels after about 5 times, and i am aware why.
I thought It would be unfair to users to give them something that would pretty much trash the stability of the HD.
You know where it is if you do not care about this, and just want to install it.
I will not be putting out my version till i know atleast it will not trash your phone. That would subtract from the work done, and after some of us spending 500GBP+ the last thing needed is a paperweight.

With the help of 'Keni'.. a new junior member... He has helped move us along also.. and produced...
The Panel icon on the titlebar.
It does need work.. and for it to function i need help again from nelshh
But he has no-doubt spent alot of time.. and got some code done.
I have to commend his effort.. and now wish to happily add him to the contributer list along with nelshh

I am still working on te next alpha build and am struggling with the concurrence manager.
After using panels chooser anywhere from 5-10 times.. it egg timers out.. and batt out is the only recourse.
The testing on one of my HD's is now at a point.. it is a daily reset at minimum,,, but i'll carry on.

This has been such a painful last few days.... I have had unknown numbers of hard-resets trying to get the failing panels to operate properly.
2 developers are currently trying to help create the panel icon (see post 104) If anyone else can help aaswell...????

The Alpha Cab has gone out to 5 selected testers.
This is a test version.. with many bugs.
So far.. this is the feedback
It installs.
It launches
It works
However.
Media panel & Facebook panel don't work on Alpha 0.02
Panel launcher Working. 3 testers had issues with relaunches after 5 times.It then becomes unresponsive
TF3d / Coloured Xperia / Silver Xperia / Radio Panel / SPB Panel / Google panel and Fish Panel all operate.
Animation works well on all.
I will work to address some of these.. and release a second alpha cab only to the Alpha testers.

Big jump made by all work done by nelshh (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=916337)
He has developed a working prototype that will call the panel manager tab.
So.. AS OF TODAY.. the 15th.. thanks to nelshh, we have something that now functions..and needs finalising and wrapping.
I will contact people to see if you can also help.
But please give nelshh a big thanks on this thread... for all his work in his project Xperiatweak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440035)... and also his work on here.

The panels looks good on HD as comapre to X1 because of the large screen. Do share the cabs and procedure to do that once you are done.

Hope the panels work faster than on the X1 otherwise they are useless. On the X1 they are way to slow to work productively with them.
But the chance that they work faster on the HD are small, right? Cos the hardware of both the X1 and the HD are about the same, are they?
Also looking forward for a cab file for testing them by myself.

Well, hopefully you would share the cab file for the rest of us to do a test on it, and more people to come and improve on it.
Do you manage to get the gold fish to work too? Guess it would really be nice to let the gold fish swim on the bigger screen.

Yes.. all panels work.. but not after a reboot..
Fish are very happy in the bigger tank.. and stroking the screen has the same affect on scared little fishy
It's now a case in finding out what is causing it to flap itself on a reboot.
On a hard reset... going through my way to wedge the panels in.. works... then on reboot... i cannot start it.
Also.. after selecting the panel you want.. i'm still to find the call it makes from the X1 panel button to call up panel chooser with the tiled view.. so. when you've selected the panel.. you cannot re-choose another.
but.. this is my first day in doing this.. and i guess i'll plod along.. till i find it.. or just think screw it.

Have you definitely told it to not load the TouchFlo3D? That may interfere with it after a reboot.

Well to be honest, the Panels are more a marketing USP than anything else. While they are convenient, I have no issue or propensity against going into each thing separately as per normal.
But if you could get it working fully, it would be great. SonyEricsson wouldn't be too happy about it though I think !

For me, this is an extremely exieting project, because I only hoped/feared that there'll be some developers, bringing some great programs for the panels and nobody else could use them. Like spb-panel, I like it really a lot from what I've seen in videos. So, than I could have the best of both worlds, on a biiig screen^^ please, work on, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's very, very interestet in this project!!! And I want to congratulate you already for the work you've done until now!! Its amazing!!! Go on, finish it I wish you good, good luck and if you need any help I could do, I give you my word that I'll try to do my best!! Many greez, cad^^

I didn't have the audio on, if there was any, but it's just showing that it's possible. That's the first time I've seen it in action, and I'll admit it may be a little slow, but it looks better than the TouchFlo3D... I'd definitely install it.

No-one wants to hear me talk...
So. i just quicky launched it up.. and ran through..
All buttons work.. i was trying to juggle a TYTN II... look at the phone and tytn.. and press buttons... so .. i may not have pressed buttons properly..
But.. trust me.. they all work... and as quick/quicker than on the Sony X1.def not slower.

But good news on the speed. I do hope you're able to make an easy to use cab file of it. No hurry as far as I'm concerned though. Not getting an HD yet. But definitely the first thing I'll download for it!

Opal phone canvas slide to answer question

I'm loving NFSFAN's new Bell ROM, but i'm not crazy about the slide to answer on the phone canvas.
I'm looking for a way to replace the slide to answer / ignore with buttons instead of a slider while keeping everything else the same.
I've researched different skins for this dialer (there are some cool looking ones out there!!) but none of these change the slider.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've now been using NFSFAN's ROM for a few days now.
Must say i've gotten quite used to the dialer. I like all of the other features. Especially the "in call curtain". While i'm still not in love with slide to answer I understand the concept of why it was created. If I want to press a button that's what the hardware key is for!!
I wasn't really looking for a new dialer, but i've learnt the slide is an integral part of the package.

now mine might sound like a really stupid question, but can I install the opal's slide to answer dialer on my sprint htc vogue ? are all the ## codes working for you on your phone ?

In NFSFAN's words, the data connection is not active during a call, it just breaks the data errors.
The dialer is included in his ROM, i'm not really sure if the same one is found anywhere in CAB format. A quick google search for "opal slide to answer CDMA" should yield some results for you.

i spoke too sooon... i installed the complete cab by mbarvian and then tried juggaloo's cab but it was for VGA graphics, i tried mbarvian and conflippers cab but that messed up everything...
just mbarvians cab - didn't display the incall screen properly.... it was all greyed out...
now i can't find a single good cab which displays everything like it should... i don't want to do any more trial and error and find out... please help me on this ...
i dont mind not having the canvas - atleast i get a bigger picture on caller screen and thats all i want right now...

I know s2u2 has a large picture to answer the phone with.
I don't use it anymore, I found it drained my battery too fast. With NFSFAN's rom and the opal dialer it isn't really needed anyways.
Sorry none of the links led to anything fruitful, my only experience with this dialer is in the custom ROM. Must say it has grown on me though!!

I've been using this on my Sprint Touch for months now with out any issues. Here's a link for a post I have up at PPCGeeks for you to check out . Please let me know if you have any problems. If you don't want the lock feature, don't install Albert's cab...

I had trouble getting the dialer to work initially also. It seemed to be tied to the rom build that something changed after the 20XXX rom build was released. If I used anything earlier it wouldn't work. If your on a stock rom that may be part of the issue. Not sure, but just my experience in fixing the issue.

It is tied to a shell component.

Hey thanks for the reply NFSFAN, the slide to answer was the only part of your ROM that I didn't really like......at first. I couldn't imagine going back to the old dialer now.
It is good to learn what's possible and what's not though, thanks again for the answer.

Codes don't work for me on the verizon beta rom. Is it just me or do you have to use the folder rather than the dialer?

Help with BSB latest Rom (6.5.1A/S)..Putting it out the the masses to help out!

You change the repeat rate from registry
\HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\RepeatRate default 8->4 (or less)
Had no probl. w. double tap to zoom in Opera. You can check the Opera setup with about:config from your browser

I've tried another keyboard 2! 'fingerkeyboard' which is really nice and looks great, but it does the same thing!! last build (6.5q) worked fine and the same way as my original 6.1 rom.
Also with opera, I had alook at the config options, but could not see an option to enable double tap to zoom! I dont suppose you know a registry tweak for that aswel do ya??

Can any1 help??! is no-one else that upgraded to Bsb 6.5.1 A/S finding that texting is slower??! its not just the keyboard tho...I notice even when I'm scrolling in Opera or through my list of programmes, I flick my finger quite fast (Like I used to on the other roms) yet the screen does not keep up like it used to!! It gives me the vibration feedback on every finger stroke, but only scrolls if I move my finger abit slower!! someone who upgraded must have the same problem??! plz help..there must be a registry tweek out there sumwhere to increase the reaction speed of the screen..??

i think it was a problem of that build so you wont be able to fix it until i update the rom... but you know... my diamond is at SAT so be patient

Sorry about double post!!! tried to change title but accidently just made it as a new post! I'm going to try and delete it now if I can!!
Makeveral- Thanks for your reply!!! As long as I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue and at least I know that nothing can be done at the moment!! Like I said before, I think your Roms are really great and I love this new version so much that I dont even want to revert back to the un-finger friendly versions, so I think I will just wait for your diamond to get fixed and for a new update to come out!! I think I can handle it until then!! Have they said your diamond can be fixed then??? your not upgrading and abandoning your precious diamond quite yet??!
Anyways, cant wait to see what new tricks you have up your sleave! keep up the good work and thanks again for your reply and putting my mind at ease!!

i dunno they just took it at the shop and said that they would send it to SAT.. ofc if they find out that im using custom roms they wont fix it but my diamond was really DEAD (i hope )

Well, for your sake, I hope they cant so u can get the upgrade! I love the feeling of a fresh new gadget to mess around with!! for all of us who rely on and love our diamonds to bits, I hope u get it back so u can carry on making that great rom!
in the meanwhile, can u suggest a version of your rom that doesnt have the screen problem I mentioned, yet still have those nice finger friendly menu's? or maybe another rom by another developer that u can suggest?? I would really appreciate ur advise...u seem like u kno what ur talkin about! lol
